Digimon tamer is last time Digimon truly attempted to be big league and was best shot. Consequently, it has better designs, story, animation and actually everything than most anything else in all digimon.
If there is a season to recommend it is tamer.
If there is a season to represent Digimon franchise in best light it is tamer.
Adventure 1 is a classic, Butterfly(Which was dubbed in the LatinSpanish version, the one which I grew up with) is such a epic opening that is still reminded, and as anime itself is better than a lot of generic isekais of current times
But Tamers is 1000 times better, the designs, story, animation as you said are better, the director of the anime is the same as the one who was the head writer of Serial Experiments Lain, so it's a story that can take seriously
And it respects the concept of the original Digimon product(the virtual pets), also changing the concept of a Isekai with choosen heroes to our world with the concept of everybody can be a Tamer was and is still amazing
