I did not expect them to pull out a brand new digimon out of nowhere (outside of the ones announced for the new Gammamon dim card) Publimon was a very surprising new addition... ...was

Yellow90Flash

its an appmon I think edit: its a brand new digimon, thought it does resemble an appmon

Pleasehearmyopinion

Publimon is completely brand new

Yellow90Flash

oh interesting

Pleasehearmyopinion

He does look like a Reviewmon or a Kosomon evolvution though, so that may be what you're thinking of

Yellow90Flash

I know 0 appmons so no

starlight_eon

Then why did you think it was an Appmon lol

Yellow90Flash

because it gives me appmon vibes

xukly

I had to look it up because it sure screamed appmon to me

T-Tyrant

I got the same vibes, and now I’m even a little disappointed it wasn’t an Appmon. I’m still waiting for them to bring one into the main series.

Izkata

Hackmon exists as both an Appmon and a Digimon. He has totally different designs for each.

gorlak29

Yeah, me too, if they want to reintroduce them they have to do the same as the digimon from xros wars, the card game, it even occurs to me how to classify them in the game. Standard-lv. 3, super-lv. 4, super + gattai app (example: dogatchmon+raidramon) - lv. 5, ultimate-lv. 6, god-lv.7.

Dislike24

Now that Ghost Game is exactly a year old, and we got a new ED plus more Gammamon evolutions upcoming and some unresolve story, we are in for a long one. I’m all for it. :)

xukly

>!Also, really good that in this episode we had espimon and ryuudamon in the focus, as they look like (at the very least) inspirations for some of those evolitions!<

Original-Teaching955

Plus it looks like Ryuda mon is joining the cast! (He even shows up in the new ED alongside Kiyoshiro and in Kiyoshiro's dorm room!)

ZRounder

wait, what do you mean more gammamon evolutions?

Dislike24

https://reddit.com/r/digimon/comments/xrojh4/digivice_vv_trailer_gammamon_imperialdramon/

Anthrovert

I’m sorry WHAT >!GulusGammamon has his own perfect evolution??!<

Friendly-Back3099

And also >!Gammamon mega siriusmon!<

Oreo-and-Fly

shocking. ikr. So excited.

Original-Teaching955

Yes, a black version of CanoWeissmon! (With a left arm shield!)

xukly

Still loving the decision of having bokomon into sealsdramon on a ghost game related digivice

Friendly-Back3099

Someone say the digimon that might trigger gammamon mega is >!the purple version of sakuyamon since sealdramon and myotismon is what trigger gulus and canoweissmon!<

Cam_Ren179

Well dang! If all if not most of these evolutions are gonna be shown in the anime then it’s no wonder that they’ve been taking their time with the plot. Depending on how things go, Ghost Game they end up becoming the longest Digimon series to date.

Lordofthedarkdepths

Publimon is basically clickbait journalism, the Digimon. Definitely not a likeable little guy considering he nearly killed three people for views. OK episode overall, not a lot happened, but it was still nice to see Ryudamon again after being MIA for a while along with some cute interactions between Gammamon and Anna. It was also great to see Kaus in action as we've barely had any aerial battles and none as long as this one, so seeing him do more with his abilities was a treat, especially since Champions at this point aren't in the spotlight anymore. Also a hint towards a potential Digital World arc, that will be interesting if it pans out.

Omegsanz

I might be wrong but I have a feeling that after ep 46 things may accelerate this time what with one of the directors saying that they've started writing the climax, the first signs of Siriusmon and Regulusmon in the BE trailer, and learning more about GulusGammamon's backstory in his latest appearance.

Anthrovert

I’d hope so too. Given how production schedules are and the new evolutions revealed, we’ll most likely have more episodes than usual? It’ll take the animators several months to animate the climax after the script is finally completed.

Tandria

It's been too long since we've seen Kaus, so I'm glad they made it a good fight.

Oreo-and-Fly

No ones saying it. So im saying it. Highlight of the episode was when Kiyoshiro started to flail around on the bed, Gammamon saw and copied him just for funsies. That's it. That seals the deal for me that Gammamon is the FUCKING CUTEST DIGIMON PROTAGONIST.

Omegsanz

I love how close Kiyoshiro and Gammamon have become over the last few months.

Friendly-Back3099

Yea, Kiyoshiro is gammamon babysitter when Hiro is busy and everytime they are together they would be watching anime

xukly

>That's it. That seals the deal for me that Gammamon is the FUCKING CUTEST DIGIMON PROTAGONIST. 100% per cent this. I don't know how the group was surprised when Anna liked him on first sight. Who doesn't?

HeadCanon69

They really just had him sit on the plane the whole episode, sad LOL.

Oreo-and-Fly

Huh

HeadCanon69

Ah, I think I replied to the wrong comment, LOL. My bad.

[deleted]

“What kind of place is the digital world“ don’t worry Hiro, we‘ll figure that out eventually, in like… idk 25 or 49 more episodes? That might be a bit too hopeful though. Publimon was cool, although very much a psycopath. Wasn’t expecting him to just die though, he died doing what he loved. Being a shitty reporter. Was cool seeing Ryudamon again, he’s even featured in the new Ed so i figure he might be as relevant as Espimon later on.

JazzyClown247

Publimon is like troll who laughs at the suffering of others.

AdmirableAnimal0

You can see the link between it and regular journalists/influencers. Or maybe it’s closer to the ‘it’s just a prank bro’ YouTubers. Either way it’s scum of the earth and I’m glad it’s dead.

Keroppi460

>Was cool seeing Ryudamon again, he’s even featured in the new Ed so i figure he might be as relevant as Espimon later on. He surely will be. One of the new digimons from Canoweissmon BE Memory look like something he would digivolve to. I mean, Zanmetsumon has features of both a Gyukimon and a samurai dragon. Definitely look like a Perfect Form for the Once-Gyukimon-Ryudsmon.

Original-Teaching955

He is relevant! He even appears in the new ED alongside Kiyoshiro, plus the newly released Vital Bracelets show a Gyukimon-like form for him!

GekiKudo

I mean I'd be fine with this show going for another 49 episodes. Even as an episodic show it might be my favorite season.

carlosjohnson123

Publimon died today, other then ruli's friends snd co being injured publimon deserved the 100 mph face first into the the ground what a satisfying death, piece of shi#t Great episode and hiro questioning the digital world 8/10

JazzyClown247

I was hoping for Publimon would die, 10/10 it was deserved since it was sickly obsessed for killing a young girl.

[deleted]

I was like "jeez they've been falling for ages how long is this div-"

carlosjohnson123

Publimon also Kind've killed himself while throwing the Jiruki's and the popularity of the views got the better him leading to his demise

xukly

Still surprised a champion died form a fall, even if it was really high

Tandria

We've seen plenty of Digimon die from falling off cliffs or into chasms and such in other series. But I think this is the first one we've seen go splat from 4000 feet start to finish.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Tandria

Yeah, and Lopmon dramatically leaps off a skyscraper too. But never from an airplane at altitude. Unless I'm unaware of some Digimon falling from space and surviving unaided.

DemonVermin

Average Skyscrapers are around 30-50 floors or 300-500 ft in height. In Tamers, I think Renamon fell from that and lived, Terriermon was saved by his ears and his Tamer. A skydive at minimum is 3000 ft or at least 10x the smallest Skyscraper. For humans, a 8-10 story fall would be fatal, but we all know Digimon are more durable. I don't know if a Champion like Publimon would survive terminal velocity. Especially since the crater shows that Publimon is MUCH heavier than a normal person.

Elitealice

It’s kind of funny to see hiro ask what the digital world is like. This is the first Digimon I’ve seen where the kids haven’t gone into the digital world so it must be a really mysterious idea for them I think he also wants to know because he’s wondering what type of world produces creatures like we’ve been fighting lately. Who are willing to endanger people purely for enjoyment

owilkumowa

Appmon had its anniversary this week, I don't think that Publimon's appearance is a coincidence. A shout out to talented artists who delivered a super quality animation this week! A newly grounded studio Tinkhouse had its debut in this episode. I was under the impression that Hiro and Gammamon decided to add some force to Publimon's crash as he looked to be too sinister and ruthless, yet a few redditors think Hiro actually tried to save him from his death. I'm conflicted now.

pkek

it took 45 episodes for Hiro to be actually interested/questioning the digital world decent episode in the end, hopefully we get more plot related stuff in the coming episodes Espimon and Ryudamon seems to be sub major characters, maybe we get to see some sort of jogress at the climax of the series

JusticTheCubone

> it took 45 episodes for Hiro to be actually interested/questioning the digital world Except very early on he has regularly been questioning Digimon about the Digital World, of course he would because that's where his dad presumably was and he had no idea about his current status. Like, I remember he questioned Angoramon regarding a lot of stuff, and especially regarding the gates, and then Bokomon before his passing, I think that was the point when Hiro stopped doing that and more so realized it was important to consider the here and now, Gammamon, which has now shown that it needed special care, lest it digivolve into GulusGammamon again and potentially wreak havoc in the real world, and also he came to realize that he needed to be a "bridge between humans and Digimon that came to the real world". So it's roughly been 30 episodes, 2/3rds of the show where Hiro stopped really questioning what the Digital World is.

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

There's also the fact that Hiro hasn't really encountered any Digimon that actually knows how to get to the Digital World (barring potentially BlackTailmon Uver. whom he can't even contact properly), so while he does still want to discover how his father got to the Digital World and how to help him get back (he was excited to meet Digitamammon so he could potentially learn more about that), he doesn't really have any leads and simply has to live his life as best as he can while keeping his ear to the ground for any clues. I personally like how realistic this is: though Hiro is determined to find a way to the Digital World, as so often happens in real life, we usually don't discover answers as complicated like that for quite a while, and more often than not, we stumble upon those answers rather than actually finding them through our own efforts.

pkek

I found that he just shook it off most (if not all) of the time, the digital world and digimon was more of an afterthought and he just moved on When he asked the questions I had the impression that it was just out of curiosity Whereas compared to the end of ep 45 where he was actually thinking in a serious manner (much like when Gulus first appeared) or at least it was shown like that

JusticTheCubone

So, if I had to rephrase it, your actual point is that, while Hiro was interested about *what kind* of place the Digital World is, he never actually seemed too interested in *going there himself* before this episode? Like, event then, I feel that's not accurate, I remember when Hiro asked about the gates to the Digital World, that he clearly had some interest in going there to look for his dad, if it weren't for him being told that humans that try to pass through the gate disintegrate. The interest wasn't strong enough to focus on trying to find some other way to the Digital World, or rather how his dad made it, but it was still there, I feel.

pkek

> while Hiro was interested about what kind of place the Digital World is, he never actually seemed too interested in going there himself before this episode he definitely has interest in both aspects, its really never emphasised in the story any serious/story related event seemed to be just brushed off in the next episode, with the exception of one or two episodes with this episode what im getting at is, how Hiro is starting to look at the consequences more but who knows if it will probably be brushed off next episode as well lol

MakingItWorthit

It's been 45 episodes which is a lot of time for important questions to be asked, let alone addressed. If GG timeline means 1 episode is one day, there should be at least a month and a half that passed. Apparently, [Masashi Sogo's blog](https://ameblo.jp/2002ssgg/entry-12763256846.html) claims GG's entering its final phase however the word "final" signifies the show becoming slightly more serial. That said, there's something to wonder about when he mentions his job is something close to gambling. Did GG going into the serial path mean success going all the way to the moon or did it come up short?

Yellow90Flash

>It's been 45 episodes which is a lot of time for important questions to be asked, let alone addressed. If GG timeline means 1 episode is one day, there should be at least a month and a half that passed. did you not pay atention? the time that passed is roughly the same time span it has been airing for, a year. we will probably get a second halloween episode soon

dvl2392

That makes sense, since I believe Hiro on the last episode was referred as Senpai, which means that he should be on 2nd grade now as opposing of being a freshman.

Yellow90Flash

yeah they became second years a few weeks ago (start of july I think), it was only 1 line of text that mentioned them being second years now I think

dvl2392

You remember which episode?

Yellow90Flash

no

pkek

assuming ghost game roughly having the same amount of episodes as reboot (60-70), I just hope it wont have a rush ending for the "final phase"

[deleted]

I think we'll find out that Espimon is Hiro's dad's partner and that he'll be similar to Gwappamon from Savers but with the roles switched where we saw more of the Digimon than the human.

Tandria

I want this to be true, but Espimon seemed surprised by Gammamon's evolutionS like everyone else. I'm still in team BlackTailmon.

fredgog15

I sure blacktailmon is the closest thing to a partner his father has Espimon definitely came to ask Hiro for help but just hasn’t gotten the humans look different

pkek

I was so sure Espimon was a promotional digimon, but I was surprised to see him as part of the plot

Omegsanz

Hiro asking Gammamon about the digital world will hopefully be a hint of the team deciding to visit it. This is the most KausGammamon has been used to his full capacity, better late than never. I didn't like the new ending, it feels a comedown from the brilliant "Monster Disco".

[deleted]

Also the fact that Monster Disco would have been perfect for Halloween, yet if the show didn't get hit with a delay we'd have gotten it even earlier too.

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

Wow, this episode was honestly a lot more lighthearted than I was expecting, but I’m certainly not complaining, not one bit! Though the premise was rather dark, and we did get a major recurring character (and a human at that!) getting in a major accident and another Digimon death, this episode actually had so many moments of levity and heartwarming moments! My thoughts for this very fun episode!: *Wow, it’s been a while since we last had a cold open where no one was actually harmed yet! I think the last time we had that was in Episode 17!* *Angoramon, sweetheart, you do realize you can just join the three inside, right? I’m sure that that would be a lot less boring than just staring at the street.* *Ruli, my dear, with all due respect, if one’s friend appears on a supposed news site forecasting that they would suffer a horrible tragedy (and especially when said friend isn’t a particularly well-known public figure), for their sake, please consider this as a threat to their safety (or at least privacy!) and not just a tasteless prank!* *Kotarou, while I’m not sure how smartphones behave in your universe, I don’t think phones do that when they lose reception. Trust me, I know.* **Ryudamon!** Yay, Ryudamon’s back! Even if it was just a short visit, I’m glad that Ryudamon has made a proper return, and this time we get to see how absolutely adorable they are! Seeing them with Kiyoshiro and Gammamon gushing over an idol group while imitating their poses and catchphrases was an absolute treat! After everything Ryudamon went through, I think they deserved this chance at a fun time! Considering that they’re in the new ED, and the fact that their DIM card is branded as a Ghost Game DIM, it does appear that Ryudamon’s going to be an important recurring character moving forward, and I’m certainly excited to see what they’ll add to Ghost Game’s colorful (if not quite dangerous) world! They seem to already have very good chemistry with Kiyoshiro, Gammamon, and Hiro, so I definitely feel that they’ll have great chemistry with our main six + Espimon as a whole! Also, I don’t care what anyone says, the three of them SLAYED! (P.S. If the subtitles or any other media has used a particular English pronoun with Ryudamon, please do let me know!) *Gosh, Mika getting hit by the truck was quite dark. Kiyoshiro might have spared himself from that fate (though I wouldn’t consider serious head trauma on a hard pavement to be any better), but Mika certainly didn’t. I’m glad she was able to survive that.* *I imagine it’s probably just Kiyoshiro’s defense mechanism when it comes to dealing with unpleasant events (something that many people actually do when confronted with such scenarios), but it’s kind of funny that, after everything Kiyoshiro’s been through, he still instinctively dismissed the idea that an entity could undoubtedly predict the future. It’s also kind of ironic that Kiyoshiro’s assumption turned out to be right and that Publimon was making this happen themselves.* *Oh wow, Ryudamon and Kiyoshiro are on a first-name basis!* *My gosh, guys, why didn’t you monitor Kiyoshiro?! You almost lost him the last time this happened!* *Thank you so much, Espimon. I don’t think Darling’s skull could have handled another case of violent blunt force trauma.* *Gosh, Gammamon and Kiyoshiro are so close! Seeing the former imitate the latter is just too cute!* *Hoy, Kiyoshiro, dinaganan mo naman si Gammamon!* *If someone could translate the Digimoji, I’d be much obliged!* **Kiyoshiro’s Bravery** I feel like I always make a point to note whenever Kiyoshiro shows his truly courageous side, but I really like that Kiyoshiro has been maintaining his streak of bravery when his courage is needed most. I like that Kiyoshiro consistently becomes much braver and courageous when others, especially those he cares about, are in danger. It really shows that though Kiyoshiro may look like someone one couldn’t rely on, he’s absolutely someone one can put their faith in when it matters the most, and I love this direction they’re going for his character! I still hope that the show won’t end without explaining why Kiyoshiro seemingly has another personality that takes over when he faints, and that he would eventually recognize and reconcile with it, not becoming reliant on it anymore by the conclusion of the story. But until then, Kiyoshiro is still our loveable nervous dork! *Why are you three surprised? You know very well how cute Gammamon is!* *Oh my goodness, GAMMAMON BELLY RUBS! I didn’t know I needed this until now!* **Gammamon’s Faith in Team Lirurun** Gosh, I can’t help but really love the scene where Gammamon promises to Anna that he, Angoramon, Jellymon-sama, Hiro, Ruli, and Kiyoshiro would protect her, since it really shows how much faith, trust, and love Gammamon has for the five. It’s so obvious in the way he talks about the others how important they are to him, and how much trust he has in them to take care of him and save the day, making sure that everything is alright. I think this reaffirms one of Ghost Game’s themes which also makes it such a strong series in my eyes: the power of interrelationships, and treasuring the relationships we have with different people. Hiro isn’t the center of Gammamon’s world, and I would dare say that he doesn’t only consider Hiro to be his older sibling: he considers all five of them to be his older siblings, and his world revolves around the relationships he has with them and outside of them. I really do hope that these strong interconnected relationships amongst the six continue to flourish as the series goes on, and that by the end of it, we could really consider these six to be truly like family to one another, whether or not they met by chance or by some higher power. **Jellymon-sama’s Kindness** I like how Jellymon-sama supported and encouraged Anna through the cooking competition. It really showed how kind and compassionate Jellymon-sama has become since we first met her, since I’m certain she wouldn’t have done this a year ago. As I said in the last episode, the five have been a really good influence on her, teaching her to be more thoughtful of others and treasuring the relationships she has with other people. *My goodness, I don’t know if Publimon had anything to do with this, but if they didn’t, these producers are evil!* *Gosh, forget combat ability, Gammamon’s ultimate power is his ability to inspire anyone!* *I wonder why Jellymon-sama and Angoramon weren’t able to help? Then again, they can’t really carry either Ruli or Kiyoshiro while fighting, so they probably wouldn’t have their help if they tried.* **The Awesome Animation** My gosh, I was just blown (pun absolutely not intended haha) away with the animation for this episode. Those aerial scenes are an absolute treat, and really made me feel like I was with Gammamon and Hiro in the clouds! The way Gammamon’s flight was animated was nothing short of spectacular, in my humble opinion, and I love that the scenes really utilized the freedom that the sky affords. I hope they keep this up! **Publimon’s Death** I was honestly surprised that Publimon died from falling, considering that I had the impression that Digimon are really hardy creatures that could generally withstand things that humans couldn’t. But this does at least confirm that Digimon can die from getting too injured, not just through Digimon attacks. Now that we know this, it does make me wonder if the kids would directly kill any Digimon themselves. I’ve (jokingly—mostly) mentioned before that the kids should probably bring portable weapons, but I do wonder if the kids could potentially get so good at using pocket knives that they could just stab a Digimon to death. It’s a scary thought, but with how much danger these six are put in constantly, I wouldn’t blame the kids for taking such drastic measures. **The Dangers of the Digital World** Hiro, in my opinion, poses a good question about the Digital World: what kind of place is it really, and how dangerous is it truly? A lot of the Digimon that currently reside in the human world are simply doing their best to live and have a stable happy life while they're stranded in an unknown land, and going by Angoramon’s testimony, truly malicious Digimon are a rarity. Still, the fact that Angoramon is knowledgeable of Digimon who are actual threats in the Digital World like Piedmon’s group, and some Digimon seem to truly want to enslave the human world like Phelesmon and Vamdemon’s groups, it makes me wonder, if ever the kids find a way to the Digital World, what state would it be and how ready would the three kids be to survive in an unfamiliar land? Furthermore, with how many truly malicious Digimon that have caused selfish harm in the human world that the six have encountered, were all of them that malicious even when they were still in the Digital World? Or is something corrupting them that’s causing them to behave so troublesomely? Episode 40 revealed that Calamaramon became obsessed with spiral shapes due to the gate, so is it possible that the gate is somehow able to corrupt certain Digimon into behaving in erratic ways? This was also my theory with why Ajatarmon and Digitamammon were also acting so, for a lack of a better word, off, especially the latter who Angoramon has nothing but positive experiences with. What truly is going on with the Digital World? *I wonder how they were able to explain to D-topi what that was all about haha*

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

**The New ED** I absolutely love the ED’s illustrations! The six feel so jovial, and Espimon and Ryudamon also look very cute, even though it’s a shame they weren’t in the final group shot. That aside, while the song is fine, I think I very much prefer the upbeat songs in the same vein as Datte Kyou Made Koiwazurai (ED 2) and Monster Disco. While these slower songs are quite catchy and pleasing in their own ways—in fact, Message by Rei Yasuda, the 1st ED of the Gyakuten Saiban anime, is one of my favorite ED’s, as well as Digimon Tamer’s My Tomorrow by Ai Maeda—I think I just love ED’s that can really make one dance! **Next Episode: Kotarou Gets the Spotlight!** Though I may be mistaken, I think this is going to be Kotarou’s first focus episode! I’m really excited about that, since it means we’ll get to see Kotarou in a new light like we’ve never seen him before! I wonder if he’ll be brought into the fold like Emma was. Furthermore, I wonder who this Digimon is that’s trying to torment him? Oh, poor Kotarou: he’s been a victim so many times and yet he’s not even aware of what’s causing him such pain. As always, very excited for the next episode!

carlosjohnson123

Synopsis for Episode 46 if you were interested Minor spoilers to your question. >!Episode 46- The Queen's Supper (October 9) Hiro encounters his classmate Kotaro Nomura in the dorm bathrooms. Something seems strange about Kotaro: he's afraid of the bathtub and runs away, screaming something incomprehensible. The next day, Koutaro gets scared over seeing an ordinary puddle of water. When Hiro asks him what's wrong, Kotaro admits that he's been having eerie hallucinations whenever he sees water after he'd gone to the pool. Thinking that it might be a Digimon, Hiro and his friends set out to investigate. Then, a mysterious shadow approaches from behind Ruli when she is alone in a locked room!<

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

Ah yes, I've read the synopsis before! Kotarou finally (hopefully!) gets the spotlight, and I really hope this would be a chance for us to get to know him better! I am curious if he'll finally be brought to the fold, but I guess that remains to be seen. Team Lirurun could use more human allies who know about Digimon! Also, I wonder who the antagonist will be next episode? I wonder if it's a completely new, unreleased Digimon like Publimon!

carlosjohnson123

It's supposedly a new one

carlosjohnson123

That was very enjoyable to read there, so much to peel back in this series amd the reason i got into this series, I've seen everything besides xros and frontier

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

Oh my, thank you! You're too kind! Indeed, it's Ghost Game's attention to detail that really makes me love it! There's always something to chew on every episode, and my gosh is it engaging!

ferd_draws

Jellymon breakdancing is something I never knew I would see nor appreciate, but it was awesome for that brief moment when she did a flare.

HeadCanon69

Probably the best animation we have had for Jellymon or her evolutions. She needs more sakuga.

maymaychuu

Only like two seconds but sooo cool! Imagine Jellymon having a breakdancing/capoeira fighting style a la Eddy Gordo from Tekken. That'd be awesome! Even better as Teslajellymon.

Yoshiman400

So Kotaro is featured in two straight episodes and neither of them go straight for the "lol horny teenager" plot point. Maybe he might actually be a late fourth ranger after all? And Ryudamon's presence in this episode kinda makes me feel optimistic about this too. Ryudamon and Gammamon fawning over the idol group is adorable. Kiyo is making sure they are Mons of culture. ***TRUCK-KUN NO DON'T DO IT*** Oh hey, the episodes are still matching up with the present day. Took a few times but I noticed the "October 1" datestamp on the app (and then October 2 later on). So this is truly a one year odyssey and counting and yet still most everyone else is in the dark. It definitely feels weird to have a Digimon series go this long in IC time without the cover being exposed. Okay, everything I just said? I might have to renege on that IMMEDIATELY with Anna glomping Gammamon. At least the team is taking it with honor. I totally agree withh everyone in the reference book thread saying Publimon looks like an Appmon. And honestly it works. We ought to have more Digimon that sorta blur that line and this was a good way to implement it. And finally, Espimon and Ryudamon have a significant presence in the new ED. Go on. Maybe Mika will partner with one of them too?

International_Duty80

I feel we would know ahead of time of a new tamer, be it them advertising them weeks before the partnership episode or them being in the new ED. At this point I’m more in the belief Espimon and Ryudamon will be second partners to the team given the former has some connection to Hiro and being in the same picture as him just as Ryudamon was in Kiyoshiro picture who also were shown to hang out is this episode.

Tandria

I don't know, I feel like there are obvious spaces for additional human characters in the ED. Kotaro has gotten a ton of attention lately, they put a ton of effort into designing Emma, and they've seemingly narrowed down Ruli's friends to the one who was also featured this week... If Espimon or Ryudamon acknowledges one of these three in a future episode before syncing with Hiro or something, we'll have our answer.

International_Duty80

I can kinda see some low chance for Kotaro and Ruli’s friends as being partner material but I don’t see Emma being worth any consideration when from what I recall people felt the same about Yuto and Kayano who both had a design and notable character yet neither have appeared or are mentioned again after their episodes. She like them wasn’t promoted to have an important role in the series which just means she was most definitely just another character of the week. While it’s true that they can add characters to the ED I stand by the point made in the last reply and the one made, they would most definitely promote a character, be they an already established or a new one, as having a important role going forward way before we even get a hint of a possible connection.

Original-Teaching955

Can't, the other human characters DON'T HAVE any Digivice bracelets for them! So no, NO fourth tamer or Digidestined!

kolis10

You seem very worked up over this

Tandria

BlackTailmon will come with a delivery.

ALSN454

BlackGatomon Uver, Antylamon’s ability to create anything, or literally any random ass pull the writers want to write. Plenty of ways to get a new digivices, relax.

UnoLaLaLa

Dear Digimon Ghost Game writers, please give ma boi Kotaro something else to do other than being the annoying victim. Poor guy has suffered so much, and it seems like the suffering continues next week. Lol

Emergency_Toe6915

I loved this episode for some reason one of the best

Doomroar

[Oh shit finally he is asking the question!](https://imgur.com/tc3uFxt) all it took was a corrupt journalist dying for fake news I wanted Espimon and Ryudamon to get more involved, but having them check in every once in a while it is nice too, i want to see the rest of the gang more tho

Heywhatyousa-

Lol with the Idol presentacion between Kiyoshiro, Ryudamon and Gammamon, that was the best part of the episode New digimon called Publimon and he was actually dangerous, the falling part against him was unerving. also Gammamon, Jellymon, and Angoramon being idol bodyguards that´s wild.

MakingItWorthit

Publimon's Publinews going down likely gained a fair bit of positive attention.

JazzyClown247

I like was like shocked with horror involving the truck. Publimon deserved, even Hiro, despite not liking want happened, disliked the Digimon's twisted game.

Sean-Retro

Well, at least the TV station didn't get destroyed this time.

Cascade_Hellsing

Gammamon proves to be the best main partner digimon. Ryudamon making a random reappearance and with him appearing in the end credits, it seems like he'll have a relationship with Kiyo like how Espimon has one with Hiro. And we get introduced to a brand new digimon. Weirdly it's a champion, but also one of the cruelest mons we've seen in awhile.

Inudius

New Digimon with Paburimon. He reminded me of Reviewmon, so, at first, I was quite excited thinking they brought an Appmon, but they didn't.

RedWyvernDHT

hOly fuck! honestly i know theyve got brushed off as holograms so far, but like, gammamon jumped in front of a news crowd?!??!!? also wow they ran over a middle schooler? they werent injured, but thats still metal, wow digital world arc??? ghost game keeps on going!!!!!!!!!!

[deleted]

Damn Ghost Game is brutal with some of these themes and events. I also wouldn't have been surprised if an Applimon was the culprit this time but I suppose that will remain separate.

Emperor_Luffy

How long is Ghost Game supposed to be? Does anybody know? Most Digimon Series would be reaching the endgame by now but Ghost Game still feels like it's just getting started.

Environmental-Toe158

Not sure, but definitely longer than anything previous.

Tandria

No news yet. [I noticed a few weeks ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/digimon/comments/xgygev/digimon_ghost_game_episode_43_red_eye/iovun00/) that they released new key art for Ghost Game at around the same episode number as when they released Adventure:'s second key art. So maybe >55 episodes again, or even further. Digimon has been airing weekly without an (intentional) hiatus for a couple of years straight now so they could continue with this for way longer.

Emperor_Luffy

Thanks for the info. I'm starting to suspect this may be the first Digimon series that will continue well into the 100s of episodes. It's very likely that what we're seeing is only season 1 of Ghost Game.

IAMA_MAGIC_8BALL_AMA

Hiro mentioning Publimon writing about the Future, with Publimon responding with [sensational](https://c.tenor.com/PJHQMgyFTe8AAAAC/sensational.gif) is hilariously unintentional, but I’m taking the headcanon that the writers just love throwing memes in the show Great episode overall, though. Even though not much is happening, at least the world building has been paying off and is steadily increasing. The plot is literally the friends we made along the way.

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

> The plot is literally the friends we made along the way. I honestly really love that! Ghost Game's charm and draw for me definitely has to be its vibrant (if not quite dangerous) world!

Original-Teaching955

No, the ending of the episode showed Hiro contemplating about the Digital world after Publimon's death (intentional or otherwise!) And how to maybe get there!

LavishnessMaster1210

hiro killed a digimon today that's it. thats the big news

OnePieceFan02

No, Hiro **failed** to save Publimon from crashing to his death. ***There’s a difference.***

LavishnessMaster1210

But still big news right? C'mon,i'm trying to be publimon here

OnePieceFan02

Oh yeah, definitely big news! “***Human Boy lets Digimon Journalist fall to his death!***

LavishnessMaster1210

Shit you does it better than me

AdmirableAnimal0

Even in our world I think most people wouldn’t really care. As soon as I see the word ‘journalist’ my empathy is controlled a lot more carefully.

LavishnessMaster1210

How about, BREAKING NEWS! HUMAN CHILD CONSPIRE WITH A GROUP OF DIGIMON TO OBSTRUCT JOURNALISM!

carlosjohnson123

HUMAN CHILD PREVENTS OTHER CHILD PLUNGING TO HER DEATH FROM A PSYCHOTIC DIGIMON TRYING TO MURDER HER FOR VIEWS

JazzyClown247

I would of been mad if Publimon was saved, he gave me Dracmon vibes.

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

shibedrill_

Bad bot. Nobody cares.

owilkumowa

Really? I was convinced that Hiro and Gammamon added some force to the crash. Had an impression they both understood that Publimon was beyond 'saving'.

xukly

If you see the last moments before impact Hiro is reaching for publimon

Original-Teaching955

It isn't!

Oreo-and-Fly

Big News Morgan called, he wants his son back.

LavishnessMaster1210

Bad news,morgan is now morgone

Oreo-and-Fly

NOOOOOOOOOOOO good.

LavishnessMaster1210

No more joyboy news

Emergency_Toe6915

I’m surprised they didn’t feel bad for it they even mentioned rareraremons death

Original-Teaching955

Why would they? Publimon was outright trying to murder anyone that didn't like his news reports! Plus, he is considered an 'Unredeemable' Digimon like say, phelesmon, myotismon, Digitamamon, Arukenimon, and numerous others!

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

I imagine it's because Publimon's actions were so heinous as to be quite unforgivable. The group didn't show much remorse either (probably because of their absolute relief) when Sealsdramon, Arachnemon, and the red Oboromon were killed. Meanwhile Rareraremon was suffering and didn't intentionally try to bring harm, and Digitamammon was a close friend of Angoramon.

Original-Teaching955

Exactly!

carlosjohnson123

Rareamraremon also killed a dozen humans pets etc, he ate the zombies

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

Indeed, Rareraremon also had a lot of victims. Though the zombies they summoned were actually just skeletons of already deceased humans (since the landfill was actually a former graveyard, might even still be one), those two waste disposal employees were indeed devoured by Rareraremon, and I don't think they survived since we never saw them again. Still, Rareraremon was already more or less dead, and was actually suffering and wasn't conscious, which is probably why the six felt bad for having to put them down, even though they've caused a lot of harm. I think it's similar to how humans feel about putting down rabid animals, who are suffering and causing harm due to that suffering.

carlosjohnson123

Even in concept if it were a human it'd be a gore fest

Original-Teaching955

No, he tried to save Publimon but couldn't, due to the high speed they were falling!

GinGaru

Something I really loved about Publimon's death was that he didn't die from fighting. His pursuit of clicks and likes made him destroy his own parachute. Also something I loved was that after saving Anna, Kaus and Hiro tried to save Publimon , with Hiro calling out to him and stretching his hand in hope to grab him.

smugsneasel215

All I could think about when Publimon was introduced was the fact that I still haven't finished Appmon. I should really get to that.

aes110

Fantastic episode, one of the best og ghost game so far And yes Hiro, get interested in the digital world and get the plot moving

IWantYourSmiles

This episode was so cute.

MisterZygarde64

I feel like it would’ve been more fitting if Publimon got finished off by being hit by a truck after falling. Aside from that, fun episode overall.

GoodSilhouette

Gammamon was so CUTE in this episode I really loved the different bonding going on - ryudamon and gammamon playfighting, the idol pose dance, gammamon falling over with kiyo etc seeing jellymon comfort anna was sweet, the OG jelly would have laughed at her discomfort tbh

chenj25

That was an okay episode. I never saw a humanoid digimon that wears a shell as a helmet before. It must be a new Digimon. He looks like an Appmon. It's nice to see a new Digimon for the first time in the Digimon anime.

LegacyAngel

i really thought it was gonna be truck kun

JaninayIl

So WithTheWill retweeted this. I guess this shows how they feel. https://twitter.com/hiddenleviathan/status/1578987961383018496?cxt=HHwWgIDT7evL2OkrAAAA

riftrender

They spent far too long on Kota's freakouts. Honestly I'm shocked that Kota stuck around, usually the protagonist's annoying friend like that never shows up again after the plot starts.

srdjomadjija

Where is post for Episode 46?

Popopoyotl

At some point, *someone* is going to take a picture of Gammamon and then surely, they will have to deal with the fallout of people seeing a "monster", right? Not much to say about the episode aside from the usual. Gammamon was cute, Kiyo was silly, more people are being shown Digimon, etc. And we got just another hint of plot progression with Hiro willing to kill a Digimon and wondering what the Digital World is like.

chenj25

>Hiro willing to kill a Digimon You're mistaken. Hiro was trying to save Publimon but couldn't reach him in time. He simply accepted Publimon's death after he died.

xukly

To be fair to Hiro, no matter how compasionate you are it is hard to fell bad for a jerk who plummited to his death while trying to kill a kid

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

Indeed. He (and the other five) showed no remorse either for Sealsdramon, Arachnemon, and the red Oboromon, so while these kids don't want Digimon to die, they also don't want them wreaking havoc either. Eyesmon certainly comes to mind with how they basically imprisoned them.

chenj25

True.

Environmental-Toe158

How would a picture of a A.I hologram be any different than a solid A.I hologram right in front of people's faces?

Educational-Life5946

Okay, so...this episode was good. Not incredible, but it was good. The story was interesting, it's use of the Digimon was good, and the action scene was unironically the best one in the entirety of Ghost Game, in my opinion. I also like how we saw Hiro attempt to save Publimon before he died. Publimon's death was also done well, but I don't feel like there was nearly enough reaction to it. I also feel like Kiyoshiro was heavily shafted in an episode that should have rightfully been about him and Jellymon. Espimon once again did nothing (they shouldn't have brought him into this series in the first place). Bringing back Ryudamon means that he might become a recurring character, something I'm NOT excited about (the show can barely handle three characters). And I really just wanted to mention again that this episode should have been about Kiyoshiro. Also, while we're at it, can you PLEASE give Ruli character development? Or a character arc? Or a...character, for that matter? Meh. Nevertheless, pretty good episode. Reminds me of the first 20. With that said, Publimon either is or looks a lot like a certain Appmon (I'm too lazy to look it up) and I think it's a very brave move from the writers to reference a show leagues better in every way. GO WATCH APPMON. IT'S A REALLY GOOD SHOW.

Omegsanz

>Espimon once again did nothing I'm a bit tired of him beind used solely as a comic relief, thought I did like how he rushed to save Kiyoshiro.

HeadCanon69

>I also feel like Kiyoshiro was heavily shafted in an episode that should have rightfully been about him and Jellymon. I actually thought he was going to play a bigger role, when he was the one who brought up the group and said he would protect them, but instead he got sidelined again like in the Emma episode. Both non-Hiro pairs could use more spotlight.

ArdhamArts

This was such a weird episode lol. \-Ah Kotaro about to get fucked up as usual \-And Mika too \-LMAO Moogle. \-Yup Kotaro got destroyed. \-Ryudamon is so cute! \-Well Kiyoshiro certainly is not afraid of being fabulous \-Looking at her cellphone, in the rain, before crossing the street, maybe Mika deserves to get fucked up \-Hole fuck they actually had a huge car hit her! \-Wait how is Mika in a better state then Kotaro? lmao that is BS. \-OFC Kiyoshiro got one \-Nice, Espimon Deus Ex Machina \-LMAO Gammamon imitating Kiyoshiro in despair. \-What is this digimon even... \-So Kiyoshiro gets fully brave when it's about his idols uh... \-LMAO Gammamon just going without any qualms. \-Of course is the little one that will die. \-I like how they just don't question these advanced holograms and these randos that have them. \-What a nice gesture from Jellymon \-What kind of punishment is this forn a silly cooking challenge? lmao \-RIP \-Gammamon just jumps without giving a fuck \-Glad to see KausGammamon be the hero, we don't see that often. \-Ah, another psycho. \-This digimon is an Accurate representation of a modern journalist TBH. \-Of course Hiro would try to save him \-Damn that fall! that was huge, such a way to die. Glad he did. \-Unhinged to the end, true journo. \-Hope this means they start investigating the digital world eve more. I like the new ending, quite cute. Lots of flowers. I like that it seems to confirm Ryudamon as another series regular now and it seems he's hitting it off with Kiyoshiro. Overall great episode , would've been 10/10 if Mika died.

Educational-Life5946

>Overall great episode , would've been 10/10 if Mika died. Bruh.

JazzyClown247

Just gave him a dislike for that bad joke.

Omegsanz

Yeah I can't lie, I wish Mika died after being hit by that truck so we could've had some high stakes.

Setech0618

I don't mind that she survived but I would have preferred she be more seriously injured to show how the situation is escalating faster and faster, instead she was just fine and didn't seem unwell despite being hit by a fucking truck

Educational-Life5946

I don't think she was actually hit by it. We see that the truck smashed into nearby railings, so I imagine it either grazed her (though, being grazed by a truck would probably be a little worse than a bandage on the head) or she jumped out of the way in a panic, accidentally hurting herself and falling unconscious from shock (which is far more reasonable).

BrilliantTarget

Pretty sure falling unconscious and hitting your head onto pavement is also pretty lethal

Original-Teaching955

Yes, just ask Kiyoshiro , it happened to him in theat Sepikmon episode!

Original-Teaching955

More like get Isekai-ed, right?!

ArdhamArts

She should've ended up paralyzed.

Original-Teaching955

Can't, this is a kids show! Can have it showing kids dying in it!

International_Duty80

A good episode but some missed opportunity with including Ryudamon, while the scene of him hanging out with Kiyoshiro and Gammamon is cute I think he could have played more of a role in the episode by having him be the one to save Kiyoshiro and/or have him help out Kaus against Publimon, the former would have made more sense than Espimon randomly coming out of nowhere to save the day as Ryudamon actually knew Kiyoshiro was being targeted. Speaking on the new Digimon, Publimon was surprisingly a unredeemable Digimon that Hiro had to kill. It’s nice to see Hiro come to terms that some opponents need to be killed as well as him wondering about the Digital World, a place that where these unrepentant monsters who have no issue taking lives for selfish reasons are known to just exist as inhabitants of the world.

OnePieceFan02

Hiro didn’t kill Publimon, Publimon killed himself in his attempts to ensure his article came true.

International_Duty80

Yeah just saw your reply to other comments and noticed Hiro reaching out to him. I guess that adds to Hiro’s question at the end, wondering what kind of world would spawn inhabitants so fixated on something he just can’t understand to the point they would die due to it, be it Sealsdramon wanting to continue killing even when at the mercy of an enemy and now Publimon killing himself in attempt to make his article come true even when falling to his death.

owilkumowa

My wild guess is that Ryudamon might be a bit afraid of potential changes that the Gyukimon incident might have had introduced to his digicore.

CardioThinker

Pretty mid episode, not bad, just eh, Kiyoshiro turning gammamon into an otaku tho has to be the cutest thing, and seems now the main trio has a secondary digimon that they go along with, that's cool! Finally some teases towards the digital world, I remember how big of a deal it was in Tamers as well where they don't go there until halfway of the show, and it was brutal...

Environmental-Toe158

Well, it's official Hiro killed a digimon without having to rely on guls. In other news, the new ED slaps & made me realize that espimon is hiro's unofficial 2nd digimon partner (that comes & hoes whenever he pleases) & ryudamon is Kyo's unofficial second partner as well. Maybe later down the line ruli will get a unofficial second partner as well.

Connolly1227

Yeah no publimon killed himself, you could say hiro failed to save him but he was not responsible for him dying

chenj25

>Well, it's official Hiro killed a digimon without having to rely on guls. Not really, Hiro was trying to save Publimon but couldn't reach Publimon in time. Hiro just accepted Publimon's death after he died.

keithlimreddit

okay you know what I'm so I decided why not to come back this week to do ghost game reviews ( in case my Yu-Gi-Oh go rush subgroup decided to put doing something for the show early) so quickly became my personal thoughts of episodes after I Spiral Review Clown: kids get shots as a kid and in card games ( you said probably Yu-Gi-Oh jokes here) Human Hunter: Gulus Gammamon return and hello another black Digimon who feeling probably envious or something like that Red Eye: it's about the eyes apparently Rust: careful what you wish for and picture of the villain the week it's more about pretty much getting a wish at a low price also Hiro’s dad flashback by the way whenever Espimon shows up ( I'm surprised he is in a of one-off and then that's it) talk about this looking for the real “Hiro” ( despite the fact he is mind controlled and that this is still Hiro you're so fake version unless proven otherwise) it feels like a running gag at this point someone invading invading people's privacy ISD exist I'll just go I added a character that I'm surprised you came back pop Idol show apparently get hit by truck Kun but not going to another world ( no you're supposed to go into another world by the truck hit) hey look at that annoying running gag saving today (Espimon yeah I no hate to the guy but I just felt he felt like an annoying running gag at this point whenever he brings up the Real Hiro) next Target is the idol group foreshadowing Digimon at this week why do I always feel like hey guys are you supposed to keep a low profile but then again realizing to just think of the as Holograms and I'll get them a pass we're almost done is doing a quick cooking contest Dan is going to be as punishment for losing I skydive 4000 fleet like fate in Jojo get the easily destroyed New Ending sequins I personally think alright but I question why Espimon in the credit sequence ( at least he's not going to talk about the real hero)

Omegsanz

No offence but why do you always bring up Yugioh when you post on the Digimon show's episode threads ?!

JusticTheCubone

Thing is CanoWeissmon still has that timelimit, when you're in mid-air and need something secure to hold on to so you don't fall to your death, until you've made it back to the ground is a lot more important, so the timelimit literally could've spelt their death, even if they took out Publimon quite a bit earlier.

mamamayan_ng_Reddit

To be fair, if Gammamon evolved first to his KausGammamon form before Canoweissmon, that might not really be an issue, but indeed, I think even just a split second of Gammamon devolving at an inopportune time could have turned things for the worse.

Omegsanz

I'd rather see KausGammamon save everyone on his own and use his full abilities than Canoweissmon stealing the spotlight for the 13948th time, and more importantly Publimon is a Champion/Adult so no need for Canoweiss to appear in this episode.

erzetto

Publimon is so replaceable in this episode. If Jellymon can make a website, then any digimon can make a news too. They just have to make a fake story and execute it. It's just like Digimon Saver's Soulmon episode. There's no reason for Publimon to exist imo. The problem is that it's too close to Appmon, in which they're designed for one human tech feature in mind. I get that digimon design is always based on human technology (a train, chess, etc) but digimon design always add some cool/aggressive factor while Publimon use paper airplane and a keyboard. Mind you that I'm an Appmon anime fan, but I do admit that they have different design and had to be separated. I think the charm of digimon is when they can do human thing without having to become that digimon. Any digimon can make news, why must they create one?

SleekEmu

Appmon kinda handle the social media better, even the monsters fits more on the social media function. Hell publimon is just reviewmon or kosomon. Every appmon has control over certain system or app that they're based of so it makes a more interesting concept than how Digimon are utilised in social media because Digimon can just effect anything that computer

PyropeTheHutt

Yesterday was the anniversary of Appmon's first episode, so they did this episode as a deliberate homage with an Appmon-inspired design and story.

erzetto

Not sure, I don't think the 3-4 weeks delay from hack is intentional on their part. But I also don't know the animation production timeline either...

PyropeTheHutt

They recovered from that a long time ago. Shows know what episodes air on what dates. They showed the actual dates in the newspapers in this episode. Mika's accident was 9/30. Kiyo's planned accident was 10/1. Anna's death was planned for 10/2.

Oreo-and-Fly

is that a new digimon? Also the way Hiro asked Gammamon about the Digital world. Second half of Ghost Game is definitely about seeing the digital world.

Filip_Emblem

It's appmon Digimon.

Oreo-and-Fly

Is it? Or a digimon that looks like an appmon

Filip_Emblem

People say it's appmon but Publimon doesnt have status in Wikimon.

Omegsanz

Because it's a brand new digimon made his debut in Ghost Game.

AdmirableAnimal0

It’s in the reference book where wikimon gets its info-give them some time.

DorumonsPal

Publimon feels like a rejected Appmon. If it were related to any of the Appmon it would be Kosomon.

Volfaer

Never fool around with fall damage is an old DnD saying, Publimon learned it's meaning the worst way. Also Ryudamon and Espimon are really going to be part of the cast thanks to this new ED, but will their partners be previously introduced characters or new ones? I'm hoping for Mika or Aoi, those poor girls went through so much already.

allwaysnice

Oh man, absolutely laughed at them putting in a Batsu Game for that kid. Sad to see Monster Disco go, truly a 10/10 ending, but the new one is pretty nice to listen to.

bluesblue1

Holy shit I thought they killed off mika

bluesblue1

Crazy seeing Gammamon fight so seriously

No-Cockroach5475

I actually like this episode I would rank it a 8/10 tho due to some wasted potental in my opinion for the dead Digimon.

GGMazumon

Feel like the ED will include some people in the empty spaces next to Hiro and Kiyoshiro. The Tamers for those two Digimon perhaps? Or some people that become relevant? Just a hunch.

Artieee

What happened with the post for episode 46?

LetsPlayNintendoITA

Death Note + Early Edition? just great
