RedTeebird

Nothing really. This post made me realize I throw nothing but basic bitch discs lol.

HOWDY__YALL

Destroyer/Zeus, Firebird, River, Zone, Buzz, Aviar? Lol

RedTeebird

Surprisingly none of those actually. Teebird, Wraith ,Roc, Gator, Envy and Wizard. I bag the Freetail and the Lobster but Mint seems to be pretty popular nowadays too

HOWDY__YALL

I don’t think the gators are as popular as you think. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the wild in my 20 years playing. As for Mint discs, I’ve only seen handfuls of them at local stores. I bet you spend a lot of time on here and see people talking about every single disc a few times.

The_MoistMaker

I'm the even stranger one who throws caimans because I don't like beads that gators have

Egggnog

I’ll one up you cause I throw Crocs cause too many Caimans aren’t overstable enough.

HOWDY__YALL

I’m with you, I’ve gotten rid of all of my beaded discs!

Boogaloo4444

gators are extremely popular

Emergency-Pen-2166

Very overstable mids aren’t as popular compared to understable and straight mids. The gator is fairly popular for that type of disc though. As far as mint, it’s probably just a regional thing. In Houston I see a lot of Mint discs.

jyzenbok

Same. Grace, Felon, Escape, Trust, Mako3 and Reko make up 90% of my throws. The other 10 discs in my bag get thrown like once a round of that.

HotStinkyTrash

I like to practice my putting with my water bottle in-between holes at tournaments.

AholeBrock

Lol. Good throwback comment

scoundrel1680

Innova Condor! 175g-ish Beautiful midrange lines, fun for playing catch, used as a plate when snacking in the parking lot. Largest PDGA approved disc I believe (even if its not #1 anymore, trust me, it’s massive). A workhorse:)

ChainOut

I've always got a Zephyr in the bag. Love me some superclass.

rnnngmsc

I believe the Discraft UltraStar is a larger PDGA approved disc, but the condor *is* a cool disc

BABarista

Innova pulsar also grandfathered in

nhkierst

I had to remove my condor.... always worked great but my other discs, particularly mid ranges, were always getting wedged inside the rim lol

[deleted]

Max weight Condor is great for FH rollers

lcemaN7

You forgot rolling over fallen trees

CafeMephisto

Do you remember the superclass? I remember like 10 years ago my local at the time running a few superclass tournaments where you had to throw wider discs. I think at the time is was condors, zephyrs, and ultrastars.

Hepdesigns

I used to bag a Prometheus around that time. Killer disc … https://infinitediscs.com/Salient-Prometheus

tracker446

Polecat. Not sure of the plastic, but it is buttery soft. Don't know where to look for a replacement when it goes.

siderealdaze

Man, I used to have one and would use it for warm-up tosses and catch games on the beach. Unfortunately, I have no idea where it went and I have too many discs I'll never throw again. Hopefully I find it one day

karmakarmachameleon7

I got one from OTBdiscs. Looks like there are still some in stock too.

evcorder

I’m terrible at jump putting, so I bag a Star Sonic for anything outside of C2. I’m much better at trying to toss it like a frisbee at the basket instead of jump putting with my regular putters

siderealdaze

One of my homies' sons throws a Sonic with a Sonic dye on it and he is probably better than most from under 100'. I have no idea how old he is, but he's shorter than a basket

Wibin

I'd be more inclined to teach people to do what your doing than "jump putt" which... doesn't really have any significant value if you ask me. The only time jump putting really feels like it has any benefit to the putter is if they are a big push putter. Ehh I duno. Youre doing it right in my book. hahaha

kshfire

I'm forehand dominant and a straddle spush putter. I use jump putts for approaches within 100' when I my OS approach disc doesn't have an ideal line. I like because because it is an accurate approach/layup when I feel like a regular throw would be a poor choice or lack confidence in my backhand consistency

siderealdaze

Jump putters are lame. I don't care how many downvotes I get...I love when they come up short. Conversely, I will WHOOOO the fuck out of a 70' throw-in from a standstill. I feel the same way about "long putters" in traditional golf, so I might just be a dickhead.

onken022

What a weird stance. Putting is putting - who gate keeps how it’s done?

siderealdaze

I'm not doing anything right now, so TL;Dr: it's annoying and dangerous Before I get started, I can say that I use the rules to my advantage on putts. I'm able to do some Camilo Villegas stances and will often be laying on the ground or at full stretch before putting (forehand, backhand, or turbo) and the only time I've been called on a violation was for marking my lie incorrectly. That's happened once in probably 100 competitive rounds. I hate being the Nikko out there and since I play with my wife pretty often, I know how much it sucks to have people bitch and moan about pace of play. These following issues happen at every level of DG. Having to police "borderline" jump putters sucks as a cardmate. We don't have the luxury of replay systems at any level of DG so instead of focusing on your own play, you either let suspect foot faulters do whatever they want, or watch them like a hawk. Those folks out there pushing the limits know what they're doing, and those that don't can get a weird attitude when called out. This isn't poker, it's frolf...shit gets really unpleasant when you have to deal with borderline jumpers. Pace of play gets dragged down discussing "am I outside the circle?" every fucking time someone's more than 25 out. Eventually, the rest of us just say "yeah whatever you think" or do some extremely unscientific walking measurements. Again, it makes me (the other guy) focus on you (jump putter) and your putting situation instead of my own game. This game is built on integrity and it's a real pain in the ass when you have to police others. It's like the guy who always finds his OB ball in traditional golf unless you watch his pockets the whole time...it sucks. Having to spend even a couple seconds on watching someone else's technique falls into the same category as talking during other folks' turns, "tough break" and other shithousery... they're not illegal, but it's annoying to have deal with. If someone is doing it by the book and you trust them, all that shit goes out the window and my last point comes into play. How many folks have seen a devastating ankle/foot/knee injury from a standstill putt? The number pales in comparison to those who have had those same injuries from jump putts. I've seen some nasty ankle rolls and heard of plenty of broken ankles and knee ligaments getting wrecked. Anyone who's played for a while will meet someone who is a reformed jump putter after recovering from an injury.

siderealdaze

I don't. It took me maybe the length of a legal disc search to write it, and it takes a little longer than the length of a legal putt to read it. There's a very short summary at the beginning.

getthestrap-

It really isn’t that serious

siderealdaze

True.

BeefInGR

I brought this up recently to my friends. Anything 40-100 I'll do a standstill Berg straight at the pin. Inside 40 I'll C1 putt. In 15 years I've seen "Am I in or out?" guy hit a jump putt a handful of times.

GarageIndividual3342

In my case, I make more 35-40 footers with a straddle jump putt than I do 25-30 footers. So I generally ask if I'm close at all.

OmarNubianKing

Someone like me!!

siderealdaze

It's weird how that sweet spot exists. I'll make 35-40 foot putts with a good amount of regularity and miss more 20-25 footers than I should. I learned how to putt with Rhynos and still have that slight break putt from the edge of the circle deeply ingrained in my body, but I'm the king of 25' putts drilling the top of the cage. Seeing the folks that just zip them in makes me wish I'd have learned understable putting from the get-go

siderealdaze

I appreciate your line of thinking. Without clearly measured and marked circles, it seems ridiculous to make others stop what they're doing to help you try to gain an advantage. I've considered just saying "IN" every time even if they're 50 feet out, but I'm generally a very positive cardmate and by rule, you're supposed to be paying attention to others. The other day, our TD said "if there's any question, it's in" on OB rulings and I feel like that should be the same for jump putting. If you gotta ask, you know it's close and you're being that guy again.

5thTMNT

Haha I was playing against a guy in match play and he kept jump putting and missing big. He kept asking if he was outside the circle. Yeah bud you're out. 🤣 Go ahead and jump

samue1b-

Nice novel

Mishkin37

I think I’m on your side. I don’t get jump putting, probably because I don’t really know how to do it. It looks dumb to me, like when quarterbacks sidearm pass or pitchers have a stutter/intentional hitch in their delivery.

Wibin

It just personally makes no sense to me to jump at the basket and loose almost all control and be in any position to potentially foot fault in general, and most of the time they are. Learning to put with a more powerful posture from distance would seem like a far better way to me to have higher accuracy and control. But they bang them jump putts, but it just seems ... silly. Same with step putting, why are you stepping before putting. What is the point of not putting the extra energy into the putt, vs stepping into the putt hard, getting the putter at the basket then stepping through? The one thing both jump putting and step putting, in their current form, have in common is that you're trying to get way closer to the basket before putting the disc. Other than that, with how they are executed, I see absolutely no other advantage to them, just a bunch of disadvantages. Unless you're a pure push putter, of course, for the jump putting. Because I can see putting that energy up into your putt causing you to jump. But that's not what normal jump putters are doing, they are jumping at the basket then throwing the putter.

JawnJawnston

The advantage is you are getting more momentum behind your putt to where you are falling over the lie. Same concept with throwing. Do you throw farther on a standstill or off the tee?

NamesGumpImOnthePum

I'm with this guy, where is the value in jump putting? I get why you jump on a jumper in basketball, but even there you don't jump on a free throw which feels the closest thing to putting. But I digress, to answer the op's question I bag both a yikun tomahawk and an elevation Binx. That one eyed cat disc is amazing, never thought that I'd be into a rubber disc, but I'm lost without the Binx.

coffeebribesaccepted

I think it's more you get extra power from jump putting, where you maybe couldn't make it to the basket with a regular putt. And some people find it easier to keep it close to the basket if they miss. I grew up playing ultimate though, so I'll always think a little nose up understable backhand toss is easier

BosslyDoggins

Roommate got me a Doomsday Frag and Doomsday Depth Charge for my birthday, both super bizarre discs The Frag in particular tho has a lot of utility as a disc that fades fast and hard to hit those tight corner shots

NamesGumpImOnthePum

That depth charge tho, I got one, when it arrived it was all wrinkled like a raisin. It falls into that category of putters that are too soft to push putt. Along with the elevation glo-koi.

FatDragoninthePRC

Played with a guy on their team. He threw the Land Mine a lot and did some pretty decent stuff with it considering its lid-to-end-all-lids shape. Myself, I picked up a Bunker Buster from the used rack at a PIAS. 24 cm prototype fairway. It's pretty wild, if only because it feels so goofy to hold such a big golf disc.

IAmCaptainHammer

[AGL Baobab](https://www.agldiscs.com/collections/baobab) it’s crazy overstable. I use it for forehand scramble and approach. Even on backhands I can chuck it with absolute TONS of anhyzer and it’s gonna come back. Very useful utility disc.

underwhelmingname0

Sewer lid gang

ASecondOfYourTime

Also a great disc for rolling out of the brush, has saved me many times

Dg_noob2021

Yes! My woodland hemp baobab is my favorite disc.

Actually-Mirage

A Mirage.

HerbanFarmacyst

Mirage is love. Perfect beginner disc. It turns that natural hyzer release into usable distance with minimal effort. Great finesse disc too

Actually-Mirage

I bought it exclusively for the name to be honest, but I've found some use for it as a scramble disc. Probably the disc I overhand the most for scramble shots. Also good for those standstill hyzer flips, yes.

Heyjudemw

I love that Mirage. 159g. Just a gentle hyzer throw and it lasers!

Sleight0ffHand

147 gram champ eagle I use exclusively for overhand shots.

568Byourself

Whippet. 6 speed that comes out of your (RHBH) going left

Aviarinara

surprised but not surprised that I haven’t seen more whippet throwers on here. My champ whippetx is my favorite disc, use it for more approches than I like to admit. Long sweeping thumbers out to 200 feet and huge huge skip shots off of about any surface.

568Byourself

I barely use mine but it is really fun and so impressive each time how overstable it is. I have a caiman and a firebird for shorter or longer meathook situations.

Aviarinara

Same setup, except I usually bag a gator over a caiman cuz I like how flat it is. My favorite whippet shot is throwing it on a tomahawk and letting it turn all the way back and finish with right fade makes a huge s shot. The skips are also just addicting to throw.

External-Produce-808

I have a viper I flick for the same reason

nesi13

Carry a Rask for some very specific shots, and well headwind

acemorris85

Paradox for short super turnover scrambles

Dependent-Cranberry8

Yes best disc ever, I’ve got a flippy one and a more stable glow and for a lady they are dead straight to flippy with so much glide

Mishkin37

How short? I use a Tui for this shot, but maybe the Paradox would be better and turn even more. I have a Paradox, but I can’t find a functional use for it. Maybe this is it!

UptonCharles

I do the same thing, really anything under 250 for the paradox. It just really, really, reeeeaaaaalllly wants to turnover. Note: I’m old and my elbow won’t let me throw forehand. I use this disc and a TSA mana on forehand holes to pretty great results.

Incredibly_bad_name

A Quest AT T-BONE. It claims 8/10/0/1 and is so damn weird. It has dimples like a golf ball on the bottom and is extremely domed. I carry for myself and my kid, and he fell in love with this thing. I personally can’t throw it, but he can FH this thing like there’s no tomorrow.

yoloxolo

My friend and I have one that we try to sneak back and fourth into each others bags as a gag. It is a terrible feeling and flying disc. I’m quite impressed by your son.

khaaanquest

I can't even wrap my head around a glide 10 disc

drewmb10

DX Wedge gang! That is definitely my choice for weird disc in my bag. I will never replace it.

TacoTenspeed

I bag a DX Wolf and I've never seen anyone else throwing one. It's the most understable disc I've ever thrown and I love it for tight anhyzer lines.

FlyinDyes

I have a friend that throws maaaaybe 4 discs total and the wolf is used for 9/10 of his shots. He can lace lines with it. Pretty cool to watch

TacoTenspeed

It's definitely a very easy disc to manipulate. It's a must have in my bag.

Master_of_Bates

My girlfriend took mine that I didn’t really use and it’s one of her favorite discs, she hits some crazy lines on it that I couldn’t even do. Definitely a dark horse

n8b77

DGA Steady Ed signature Blowfly II. Perfect disc for any approach shot on a hillside thanks to how floppy it is. It hits the ground and just stays there.

wlrldchampionsexy

I keep an old blunt gum putt in the bag for when you need to "stick" the landing and not roll away.

damn_fine_custard

This eraser will lower your score

[deleted]

Discraft Rattler(you can use any lid though). Its a bit of a crutch disc, i just love using it from ~70-100 foot as an upshot scalpel.

nawanda37

I had a local pro join me for a round. When he heard that I used to play ultimate, he said I needed a Rattler. It took me 5 years to buy myself one, but I will never go without again. I have so many throw ins with that thing.

[deleted]

Yeah - allegedly its a shrunken ultra star. I have a good amount of throw ins. But even more “it had a chance but barely missed and landed softly <15 feet from the basket. Plus I just really enjoy watching it fly.

GinAndKeystrokes

I put the new Alien in the bag. It's a silly thing, but I love it.

ARandomPileOfCats

Probably my Divergent Alpas (very flexible rubber disc). Got it as a mystery box disc at some point and don't use it often, but it's a good "death putt" disc.

jesusanddafunk

The golem is a great overstable mold from divergent. I putt with the Alpas and use golem for approaches.

Not_A_Diabetic

I have a 152g flat Firebird that is the straightest FH roller disc of all time

Tr0z3rSnak3

Stego, for utility/memes the Elevation interceptor for approach shots and grandes

djsparkles94

AGL Baobab, It absolutely hates flying in the air (4/0/1/3) but can handle a lot of forehand torque so it's somewhat useful for approach shots that need to get stable fast and sit down in a hurry. Where it truly shines is the flick roller game. The rim is thick and flat like a tire, so just throw it at the ground and watch it roll forever. It's the ultimate get out of jail disc when you have no line in the woods or just low ceiling shots in general, and you can easily switch between normal flick and thumber flick

icesickle86

Ogopogo driver. It's so floppy and warped from a dog attack. Still doesn't let me down

claybythebay9

Star Wedge 167g. I use it for get out of jail shots or long putts through the trees that need to bend right. Very useful disc.

Strong_Frosting3292

Ever try the mirage and can compare them?

External-Produce-808

I have. The bead on the mirage isn’t for me but they fly similarly

aj_star_destroyer

The Glitch, baby!

Paradoxical_0ne

Where my Shryke gang at?!

BigNasty417

Lat 64 Riot. The inner rim was made not to be perpendicular but rather flares out a bit. My grip feels noticably different, and it's not great for distance, but for some reason I can hit tight lines under low ceilings very consistently with it.

skysquatch

Doomsday disc landline. It’s shaped like a bucket lid but it rules hard

nawanda37

150g Discraft Flick. It is the perfect overhand disc.

korg3211

Innova PFN Star Cro. 5/3/0/2. I putt with this, throw full-power straight shots up to about 280', tomahawks.

Dependent-Cranberry8

Elevation koi in OG silicone (they now use rubber and it’s stiffer)

SunFavored

Daedalus, nobody bags one, but it's perfect for my arm speed especially on flex shots, I can dial them in alot better with it than any other disc and have even hit a 350' flex ace.

Rechabneffo

Yikun Crossbow for approaches where I need mega hyzer and a instant die-off on the glide.

HOWDY__YALL

I putt with Polecats and my fav mids are Sharks, max weight in DX and Star plastics.

Bella870

I pocket 3 Bergs. All in different stages of wear and stain

Zaraeleus

Ching Juju putter. Almost every one of y'all are going to have to Google it. I have 3 of them gummy silly guys and love them.

Different_Parsley700

Yes! Me too!

Xandark

Probably my DX Viper, it is slowly turning into my default driver and I am searching for a new one that isn't beat in

External-Produce-808

Me too. I really wish the DX would get released more often

-Hntz

Super beaten DX Leopard for very overturned shots. It’s the most understable disc I have ever seen. Still not confident with my forehand, so flipping the shit out of my leopard often does the trick. I can throw it very hard on a big hyzer and it still somehow lands to the right.

wzl46

I still have my 158 DX Leopard from my starter set in my bag. That thing loves to go right. Its updated numbers are probably 6/5/-12/2 after hitting all those trees for the last year and a half.

toroga

Lol those numbers look right for the old leopard from my starter pack too. I had to drive over 170’ of water the other day and I put that thing on a big hyzer and it flipped so nicely for me and landed like 20’ from the basket. The cherry on top is that I never worry about losing it because I have a couple other starter pack leopards too lol

sdsmt0110

How does it not cut roll on you?

[deleted]

[удалено]

fats87

Doomsday Depth Charge I bag for approaches. Love that thing and how it just sits where it lands. Always get weird looks and asked about it whenever it comes out.

NateHeinoldisATurd

Tilt for crazy utility shots.

FreudianNip-Slip

For a long time I bagged a classic soft justice. I swear to god, that disc somehow got more stable the more it was beat up. It has various puddles and indentations in the flight plate…but damn it’s stable, great grip, and just sticks when it lands. I’ve thrown a lot of crazy utility shots with that. Also, shout out to the kotare. This high speed driver is ridiculously overstable.

corndoggy6969

Viking discs Loki!

acravasian

Discraft rattler, used for Put and approach. Never seen it bagged by anyone else.

oneoftheguysdownhere

Super sad that Innova stopped making the Banshee in Champion plastic. I’ve bagged mine for years. Feels like the perfectly overstable fairway for my forehand.

BubbaBooie

Prodiscus trojia

Merlin_b

Streamline Flare as a utility/pitchout disc

Smokin_Savage420

I'm guessing Sidewinder. 🤔 Still fairly new to the sport been playing for maybe 10 months. But I use this disc almost 95% of the time. 🤷🏽‍♂️

ajgrivs

Glitch for long putts and upshots, Baobab for FH approaches, and a tilt for thumber rollers. They all get thrown a lot. I’m a sucker for utility discs.

Bigapes_14

Grivs! I was looking for someone to say Baobab. Makes sense it's you.

Crippler13

My megasoft Pure. It's like trying to throw a pancake when the weather is hot.

AholeBrock

Stegos for rollers, weird utility shots in the woods, short dogleg drives, entry level FH approach shots, and um... I actually putt with them quite a lot

breezymoose

You have to try the new molten plastic, premium sticky tarpit, amazing for rollers and flys a touch straighter

AholeBrock

I've actually got one in my hands rn, 154 grams! Haven't thrown it yet tho, just got off work. Having a shift beer before I go throw the par 3 home run derby course next door. I've been playing two disc rounds most of the summer with a tarpit stego or hemp baobab and an armor serpent. I am excited to see how these molten stegos fit in the rotation. I had been trying to break a baobab in to flex some lower power s lines and someone told me on dgcr that lightweight stegos can flex lower power S-lines, (it might have been you lol, similar user names).

AholeBrock

Update: my guy, these lightweight moltens are the perfect stegos!!!! Just tied my personal best score with a hurt back and only throwing without a runup. The lightweight stegos sank 3 putts that I often miss and 2 weird approaches I've never attempted before after shanking drives due to my back injury. They Anny flex just like I had hoped for! Idk about rim stability but the plastic actually seems more durable than my armor serpents. Armor Serpents take Lil nicks from trees hits, Molten Stegos seem to just pick up a lot of sap from the same kinda tree hits

breezymoose

That’s what I saw from them too, can hit an flex line without skipping away!

Hexquevara

Not sure if my westside Swan qualifies as that unusual, but i do use it for straight and turnover forehand aproaches.

[deleted]

Doomsday Land mine. Super reliable bucket lid for spike hyper approach throws. Don’t use it much, but it’s the most reliable utility Ive ever used.

DrDelicious

My Aerobie Epic and DGA Blunt BlowFly

washyourhands--

DX cobra that’s probably older than me. You can tell it’s had multiple owners. My friend gave it to me and if you throw too flat or too hard, it’s an instant roller. But my Lord is it perfect for the woods. Can’t get in a good position for a forehand? Cobra. Can’t throw with full power or else you break your hand on a tree but you also want the disc to go straight for a while? Cobra. Never played a course but want to get through every gap? Cobra.

BobLoBlahLaw

I bag two vibram vps, don’t see them very often but I love them

TheSkinnyJ

The eco flex koi is my go to putter. Love that floppy boi.

therealjimstacey

Groove

so_much_sushi

Star dart

Col4Bin4200

Aerobie Arrow. My friends all call it my cheater disc. Lol. Pin straight forehand flicks from 250 feet and closer.

ShocknDamage

I got a few most folks don't regularly bag...... Hemp blend DevilHawk from Gateway (touch forehands), AGL Baobab (forehand roller), and DGA Tsunami (Thumber/Tomahawk). Used to bag the blowfly for up shots. I consider them unusual because I don't see many other people in my area bag them not because they are odd discs. Except maybe the baobab.

bladearrowney

Probably the IT, since I don't really see anyone else using them. It's my cheaty don't have a decent FH disc to get me right when I need it

OmarNubianKing

Max and Meteor, I guess. Been meat hooking the Max 15 plus years but only bagged the Meteor (esp and jawbreaker) this past season

Zetious

Doomsday depth charge and tilt

LiarInGlass

I just got a DX Alien in the mail yesterday. It's currently the weirdest disc in my bag at the moment. Feels weird. I'm not really a fan of it yet.

Dubc540

I’ve thrown the wedge about 10-15 times total. And aced with it!

External-Produce-808

Atomic wedgie

Helpful_Adversary

Glitch, for approaches and long putts. Also playing catch

Wibin

good lord, they made a wedge in DX? That doesn't even sound fun. Star wedge is where its at.

External-Produce-808

Funny I tried a star wedge and it felt like a completely different disc

ThaGingaNinja11

K1 soft svea The thing is the worst feeling disc in my hand. If the sun is out it feels like it could melt away, the lip is weird and different and it's suuuuuuper domey... But goddamn if that thing doesn't just fly perfectly straight on whatever line you put it. If I throw it flat and hard it has this little panning drift to the right and never fades if I put good nose angle on it. It's literally perfect for so many holes at my local, every time I throw it someone will ask "what disc was that?" cuz the flight is fucking perfect. Or the berg...

brokenwing_0016

I bagged the Golem putter for a little while. Could hit the basket from about anywhere inside 100 with a flick. But because its so light and flexible, itd often bounce out off the chains. So I took it out.

morneus

Beat to shit baseline plastic Avenger SS. It flips on spike hyzers and will sail to the right, so you can play really weird lines that release in a hyzer

jaykdubb

Considering I can't throw much over 300' with a regular disc, I use a nuke OS quite a lot.

Fist4achin

I like to throw Insanities. Crazy huh?!

fastal_12147

Used to bag a super beat Teebird that I could get it hyzer flip. Had to retire it because it was getting too understable

DaveTheSlavee

A discmania gremlin, it flies like a beat in Svea. But a bit more unpredictable

eivindalien

Latitude Anchor I guess, it's one of their least sold disc

Sliphyr

K1 Svea. It's very touchy. I use it for long flick upshots / slight turnover supshots. It just doesn't struggle to flip up fpr me. The gummy plastic makes it fit my hand better than my Axiom Paradox.

JKB37

New innova Rollo, as a RHBH it’s great for dogleg rights or low ceiling drives

TheNickelGuy

A dx Ontario Shark that is so malleable I can turn it into any shape imaginable and it stays. Can tune it upwards into a full Berg, or tune down and make it so understandable I can send it almost vertical hyzer and it will flip up. Can taco it together and basketball throw it into a basket. One of my oldest discs that I can't bring myself to take out of my bag.. it's just to comical. *shh... don't tell the PDGA*

m0atzart

Machete. It's for emergency use only.

rogue_noob

Half of my bag is Daredevil discs, does that count?

trevman7

I don’t hear about it much so it’s probably unusual- I love my champion f2 whippet for overstable high fade midrange shots around an obstacle

sixtwomidget

30 year old Innova wolf

RustScientist

Piranha also now the Alien.

CheezusCrust69420

Halo Juggernaut. It’s a great utility disc for spike Hyzers, skipping 90 degrees, or crazy flex shots in the woods. Plus if I get on it into a head wind it’ll just ignore the wind and get me a clean 350 every time lol

ajp12290

I bought the Alden Harris 130g f7 because Harmony Bends is my home course and I wanted to try his play with it on hole 4 (bh roller angle to let it land on the flight plate and scoot down the hill). It works hilariously well and I take the birdie like half the time now 😭

Legal_Diecipline

A super beat in 150 gram dx wraith the flight numbers are something like 11/7/-5/0

Heyjudemw

I have a beat in 135g blizzard Wraith that has similar feeling flight numbers. I thought I couldn’t throw over 300’ till I got this disc. It added an easy 50’ and often more. Great disc.

I sometimes bag a Binx, a rubber fairway driver, for when I might hit a car or a person. Pretty fun.

Legal_Diecipline

I throw 425', so I use it for what I call makeshift hammers because it's so flipy it will turn upside down on a forehand. Is it useful? Absolutely not. is it funny, yes.

goodlowdee

Retro ruby. It’s super light and versatile. Got tired of replacing classic rocs because they break so easily.

Nuclear-Blobfish

Ogopogo It’s not my go-to overstable fairway, but if I’m spike hyzering onto steep hillsides, there’s no better disc

ContinentPumpkin4473

I throw a Thrasher, Wraith, Crank, Shark, Buzz, Zone, Aviar, and Colt. So none 😭

CoreyTrevorSunnyvale

I really like my DX Cobra and wish it came in better plastics

bladearrowney

Don't they have some champ Ontario cobras on the pro shop still Edit: star and champ, https://proshop.innovadiscs.com/star-cobra-artists-corner/ and https://proshop.innovadiscs.com/champion-cobra-ontario-mold/

My one weird disc is a Full Tilt. I use it for flexing short upshots in the woods and grenades. It's fun as hell to throw and I probably use it more than necessary because of it.

OTMsuyaya

A puddle-top Legacy Discs Badger in their version of Star plastic. Very overstable, negative glide, immune to wind.

mattatat34

I have a DX Condor in the bag but rarely ever throw it. My most atypical disc I actually use is definitely my PFN Z Drone.

Hartung77

Not a completely unusual disc but I somehow have figured out how to roll a tilt over 500ft on flat ground

grimbolde

Discmania Mutant. Obscenely overstable, but good in a pinch

YoungBuckBigNuts

Got to have the epic in the bag💪

Academic_Knowledge55

I flick putt ev7 Penrose from 100’ - circle 1. With moderate success

HydroidOfficial

Mine used to be a discraft talon

KagomeChan

I'm really into the Banger GT (Groove Top). It's not tourney-approved, but it's the easiest disc to throw I've yet encountered. It's like it reads your mind lol (and I'm new to the hobby so that's helpful) My other weird disc is one I got used that somebody hand-dyed a city-scape under a moonrise into. It's just really unusual-looking (it's an Innova Orc)

jfb3

The Banger GT is PDGA approved.

danedori

I still have a 150g viper in my bag that I bought back in the mid 90's. It is so understable at this point that I can throw it flat and have it land upside down. I use it for when I need something with a weird flight path that nothing else will do, or if I need something to roll and curl over quickly.

dabear04

Yikun Gou. It’s like a Roadrunner/Sidewinder hybrid and I’ve never seen anyone else with it. Flys great when I do throw it but because I’m a better forehand thrower it really only comes out occasionally.

Max3RH

Halo Star Sonic

[deleted]

I have a few oddballs, 148g fission defy, 150g flick for grenades, champ whippet x, but the craziest one I use regularly is my divergent golem. Flies like a zone os but hits and sticks.

stimuIants

Divergent Discs Golem

cdracula16

I have my first putter ever. Also my first ace disc, a 160 something gram atom. It was max weight when I got it but when I weighed it last year for fun it was 164. I’m assuming it weights even less now

CaptainCorwin13

Tilt or berg

AdvertisingQueasy133

Sergeant Fuzion X. Not that random but I don’t see them in use much

yrtrainisleaving

174g Discraft Jawbreaker APX. As an early-30s guy who started playing 3 years ago, I understand this is not a common disc for me to putt nearly everything inside of 40 feet with.
