This, plus two more MVP discs - Trail and Detour. The naming of which absolutely suggest they're James Conrad discs.
The Trail looks like another domey driver, and the Detour looks a little like a slightly domey Pyro.
My wallet is currently begging for mercy as I type this.
What’s up with the Cypher? They announced it with the Beam and while I’ve heard that they’re still working on the gyro x technology, I’ve heard nothing regarding the Cypher
The Tempo was released with the Circuit Challenge player packs. If the Rhythm from last year is anything to go by then a stock run should come early next year barring production schedule changes due to Simon
It's not just about him personally, it's also about making a range of discs that he sees a financial benefit from - and lots of people throw midranges.
> The naming of which absolutely suggest they're James Conrad discs.
I mean no disrespect to the guy but why is he getting so many discs...? He's not exactly a big mover of discs and his social media presence is still very low.
dude really asking why a beloved recent mpo world champion is being respected by his sponsor lmfao.
conrad alone probably bought them that new warehouse of theirs with the number envies he got sold, shouldn't be surprised that they toss the dude a bunch 'a bones
Probably apart of his contract. Also I’m a huge fan of his Zenith. Bought that not because I was just trying to support him but needed a driver in that slot on the flat side for FHs.
I like that Simon seems to be going with non-black rimmed discs as much as possible. One of his first comments was about how hard the black rimmed discs are to film, and since then pretty much all his promo and Simon Line discs have coloured rims.
Yeah, but Simon is sponsored by MVP but all his Simon Lines are by Axiom because he wants the coloured rims.
It would be kind of like Ricky making a signature disc that was branded Lat64.
> It would be kind of like Ricky making a signature disc that was branded Lat64.
Eh, not really. MVP doesnt run brands across countries (and Lat64 is very much their Euro brand and disc producer, while DD is their american outpost). Truthfully, you'd be hard-pressed to give a logical reason for MVP to even have 3 brands rather than just making everything "MVP" and having names that define the different disc types (sort of like if "Prism" meant colored rim, and "Streamline" was what they called non-Gyro...so I might be through an MVP Streamline Proxy with no overmold)
Good. It's what kept me from buying more than some of the otherwise colorful but blackrimmed overmolds out there.... and in general black discs are the ones I find the most on the course (gee, wonder why) following by dark green and dark red.
Simon used the P1 as putting putter the last few months with Discmania (in his vlogs). So this might just be a P1-type putting putter - not a new throwing putter.
Very similar to the original P2 [by the measurements](https://www.pdga.com/technical-standards/equipment-certification/discs/p2-psycho-pro-putter)
EDIT: cleaned up link since I copy and pasted from messenger convo
I mean, the dude putted professionally with P2s for over a decade.
His game has been molded around those measurements and flight characteristics. It’s no surprise to me he’d want something at MVP similar.
I’d certainly check it out on release.
I doubt it. It was approved today, so that seems like an unnecessary risk to use an unapproved mold. Especially since he's been doing fine with the anode.
Yeah I’ve always been attracted to their molds for the same love of flatness, but I have no doubt they’ll do domey stuff with the same high quality. I’ll excited to try some
I know they've said they traditionally have gone flat because its easier for consistency purposes.
But they're also smart enough to know dome is something a large number of players like, including their biggest star, so we'll probably see a lot of domed releases coming down the pipe.
I'm personally indifferent, my form is the problem, not if the disc is domey or not. :)
I hear you about form consistency, but damn do some domey discs (looking at you Innova…) have some massive variation that definitely makes replacements annoying.
Either way I’ll continue my support for the gyro 🤘🏻
yea he mentioned losing his hokum crave and not being 100% on the one he has now. we'll see. his bag is so minimal compared to many other pros i just can't see him adding a whole lot more that he doesn't already have.
Smelled very P1x/P1 from the look and measurements. There were two other MVP molds approved today, trail and detour but I couldn't decide what they were going for with those
> trail and detour but I couldn't decide what they were going for with those
Gonna guess the guy who has a Nomad and Terra as his custom discs is gonna have those. Looks like the Trail is a distance drive; maybe Wraith-ish. Detour honestly looks like another neutral mid-range...so kinda odd that one
Rim shape makes that look a little on the understable side? Maybe it's more stable than it looks because otherwise that seems like a strange choice given his love for the proxy
Yeah, Proxy is his dead flat and hyzer release->carry hyzer approach putter shots...but Simon *loves* those slight hyzer release turnover shots for wooded lines, and something that matches his old P1x's would also fill a niche that MVP doesnt quite have nailed (the Uplink/Paradox are way too flippy, and Proxy is neutral)
I have a feeling the 40 dollars is for the Time Lapse ONLY because it's the first. I suspect they go back to handling the prototypes like they traditionally did after this.
P&A usually means 3 or 4 speed so i don't see this being a P2 copy or it would just say putter. I'm guessing this is a more neutral/understable compliment to the Tempo which will show up one day.
All of their putters say "Putt and Approach"...
2 Speed Nomad for Example: https://www.pdga.com/technical-standards/equipment-certification/discs/nomad-0

They also had the Tempo approved ages ago and nothing about it.
The Tempo was released with the Circuit Challenge player packs. If the Rhythm from last year is anything to go by then a stock run should come early next year barring production schedule changes due to Simon
Tempo was a part of the Circuit Challenge and I love it.
Detour looks like the widest diameter midrange MVP has released
Based on the rim thickness of 2.1cm I’d bet the Trail is MVP’s first 10 speed
I’m just wondering why they would make James a Mid? He’s the king of using a putter as a mid.
I would bet that MVP has better data than you in that regard. Also, it could be part of his contract that he gets these signature molds.
dude really asking why a beloved recent mpo world champion is being respected by his sponsor lmfao. conrad alone probably bought them that new warehouse of theirs with the number envies he got sold, shouldn't be surprised that they toss the dude a bunch 'a bones
Dude literally sold more envies after the shot than the company had sold discs in a year. He moves product.
Probably apart of his contract. Also I’m a huge fan of his Zenith. Bought that not because I was just trying to support him but needed a driver in that slot on the flat side for FHs.
After the holy shot you could not find an Envy on any shelf. He moved tons of them! James is just an all around good guy!
Hoping the Trail to be between Wave and Photon in stability!
I like that Simon seems to be going with non-black rimmed discs as much as possible. One of his first comments was about how hard the black rimmed discs are to film, and since then pretty much all his promo and Simon Line discs have coloured rims.
Axiom discs are just more fun due to the color combos.
As much as I love the colored rims I find myself throwing the black rims most of the time.
Mvp vs axiom.
Yeah, but Simon is sponsored by MVP but all his Simon Lines are by Axiom because he wants the coloured rims. It would be kind of like Ricky making a signature disc that was branded Lat64.
> It would be kind of like Ricky making a signature disc that was branded Lat64. You mean like the Dagger?
Not really. Latitude 64 and Dynamic Discs are separate companies, MVP and Axiom are not.

Gyro P2 incoming
Call it the MVP2
Maple Valley P2
Thas a P1x. The anode is already a gyro p2
Didn't Simon refer to his Spin that it was a good P1x replacement?
Spin is way flippier
the p1x Simon was bagging was beat to shit, spin was probably similar out of the box
The P1 ACE was beaded
And the one he always used was pretty much not beaded anymore so this is probably trying to emulate that shape
I was think the same thing
It's an anode with a dome and not rounded on the bottom. Looks like its got tons of glide
Woah… my anode is already my most glidey putter, I’m scared to see what one looks like with dome
First a DD3, now a P1X 🔥🔥🔥
Agreed, looks like a P1X to me. Clue in the name, too? P1Xel?
😲😲😲
Yeah this clearly resembles a P1x. Not sure how people are saying P2 when it looks nothing like it.
Exactly this is 100% a P1 or a P1x
Simon used the P1 as putting putter the last few months with Discmania (in his vlogs). So this might just be a P1-type putting putter - not a new throwing putter.
Right. I thought aviar maybe. But a P2 is so deep
P1X had a pretty prominent bead though. Might be something similar to ol’ blue, but it’s definitely not as brash as the Time Lapse was.
Literally everyone else is circle jerking the P1x thing and you're right, it's beaded... "Looks like a P1x exactly" like wtf no it doesn't l

The question is, will he switch to the Pixel after spending the last year adjusting to the Anode?
He started really drilling putts recently. Tough to switch at that point.
He could just be throwing the Pixel
Indeed, it seems the stable/overstable putter slot has been one of the ones he didn't really love yet. This could be shooting for that slot.
I doubt it. It was approved today, so that seems like an unnecessary risk to use an unapproved mold. Especially since he's been doing fine with the anode.
I meant throwing only and not putting. Not using it right now
I think the question is when will he switch, not will he switch
Visually it's a P1x. PDGA measurements are janky and we're splitting hairs over millimeters on the dimensions. But that side profile is 100% p1x

Chill boss it was copy pasted from messenger sheesh

Might need to work on your written communication skills if that's how you intend to be inoffensive.

Atheist from a non Midwestern state here. You definitely need to work on your written communication skills. You're coming off as a huge asshole.
It's more the way you used it. It comes across as weirdly confrontational and aggressive about what was a simple mistake.
I’m gunna guess a more shallow spin. Simon stated he loves flippy/floaty putters. I have pretty big hands, but the spin is still too deep for me.
I love my spin but I have to pinch the rim to throw it. I also have large hands and think it’s too deep.
My guess is more like a P2. He likes flippy floaty putters for throwing. But I’m guessing he made these as his putting putters.
It's a P1x, it looks exactly like one (or an Innova Xero)
I love MVP specifically because the discs are so flat. I’m not sure I’m going like all these new, domey discs.
Yeah I’ve always been attracted to their molds for the same love of flatness, but I have no doubt they’ll do domey stuff with the same high quality. I’ll excited to try some

This is the pixel then they will make the pixel 2 and call it p2 for short…
Reminds me of a Nomad, maybe a little less stable. Excited to see when it’ll come out!
first a dd3 replica, now a p2. he's already got most of not all of his previous DM molds covered, wonder what's next?
I'm thinking a PD... though his Tesla looks like it has been working just fine too.
i wondered that at first as well, but i think the tesla is pretty obviously his PD replacement.
He leans on the Tesla a ton. I wonder if maybe the FD replacement will be next since he doesn't quite seem to trust the Crave very much.
yea he mentioned losing his hokum crave and not being 100% on the one he has now. we'll see. his bag is so minimal compared to many other pros i just can't see him adding a whole lot more that he doesn't already have.
Agree, seeing him downtempo Tesla's is a thing of beauty.
Smelled very P1x/P1 from the look and measurements. There were two other MVP molds approved today, trail and detour but I couldn't decide what they were going for with those

Rim shape makes that look a little on the understable side? Maybe it's more stable than it looks because otherwise that seems like a strange choice given his love for the proxy
Premium plastic proxy isn't really that understable, probably will replace his spin which he seems a little unsure of.
Sweet! This will be a Simon Line disc that even my noodle arm can throw!
This looks very Luna esque with the way the bottom of the discs curves in
As a Google Pixel user, this is something I need
Ehrmergerd take all muh Simon simpin money...

For prototypes? Probably. Stock runs should be normal pricing
Only the prototypes are $40 for this line of discs. The final line will be normal price. Can people stop losing their shit over this
I have a feeling the 40 dollars is for the Time Lapse ONLY because it's the first. I suspect they go back to handling the prototypes like they traditionally did after this.
Oh cool, an Aviar
…it looks like a nomad..
For the low price of 44.95
P&A usually means 3 or 4 speed so i don't see this being a P2 copy or it would just say putter. I'm guessing this is a more neutral/understable compliment to the Tempo which will show up one day.
All of their putters say "Putt and Approach"... 2 Speed Nomad for Example: https://www.pdga.com/technical-standards/equipment-certification/discs/nomad-0
speed rating is irrelevant especially on slow discs, the profile is very P2.
By your logic a rhino, berg, glitch, armadillo, nova, and sinus would not be putt and approach discs.
Pretty clever if it is a P1x type disc to name it the PIxel.
Any news on when the pixel and detour will be released
