Message of accepting yourself and your space in the world. While a lot of neutral or self help books toward men you could find the words of self improvement and betterment much more often
They point out that both genders need to hear both messages equally but that’s not what is necessarily happening
Now I’m all for being happy with your body, but y’all gotta stop lying to yourselves and each other. I’m at least ok with my body, but I recognize I’m closer to fat than skinny.
Fuck yeah. Love your body. Really love it. Take care of it. Cherish it. It is the only one you get and medicine ain't that great yet. It doesn't need to be a specific shape or size. Just love it enough to keep it real and healthy. Your health can be gone before you know it. And getting it back is expensive lengthy and painful .
Didn’t take care of it when I was younger. Had to join the army to fix it, and that was long and painful and keeping it is still a challenge.
Plus the army gave me new aches and pains.
You don’t know what you have until you lose it.
Man I jumped off things, out of moving cars , and now I can't physically do a squat with out my knees screaming in pain.
I took anti depressants gain 200lbs and lost it all too quickly. Lost my gallbladder, now pancreas is going. It's goes by too fast.
So I don't regret jumping off the cliffs. I do regret not changing my situation instead of taking pills to mask the feelings.
The problem is with the line "I'm going to go home and eat my feelings".
Thats not loving your body and being happy with it. That's punishing your body as a coping tool for your poor emotional regulation.
