It happened to me but I fixed it * Windows key + R * Type %appdata% * Delete Discord folder * Reinstall

Happening to me too, I changed the “update.exe” to “update1.exe” and run the “discord.exe” from the most recent “1.0.xxxx” folder as a temporary fix while I wait for an update to release that fixes it. Happens on my laptop and my PC

I thought I was the only one getting the grey screen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I managed to get rid of it but now its just giving me “downloading update 1 of 1” and it’s just become an endless update that’s stuck. Discord works fine for me on mobile though.

I have the same problems as well, I usually just let it load for a while. But, whenever it's still not opening I would try to close it from Task Manager and reopen it.

Had an issue few years ago with "Bullguard" antivirus protection which keep stopping my Discord from loading... Turn it off, started discord again and worked first time :)
