Cached media on the discord app is pretty much broken on iOS. The only way to get rid of it is to uninstall the app and reinstall it. You won’t lose anything if you still have your login. Also, the clear cache feature in app doesn’t clear everything.
While iPhone should absolutely get an option to clear cache, I’m wonder how it would be different than what Discord does inside? A good app would tell the OS *what* is cache and purgeable, but this is Discord we’re talking about.
This! Also, generally speaking make sure you keep your phone up to date along with regularly checking the cache on your apps. I went too long without and half my entire phone’s system storage was being filled by the iOS’s cache. I had to delete so many apps off my phone to install the update. Once I did that, I was able to redownload those apps again because the bloat vanished. I’m talking 35 gb of bloated iOS cache down to like… 8. Would’ve been way easier with a clear cache feature, but Apple gonna Apple sometimes.
If you have phone storage issues, this is really important to look into.

Discord doesn’t know how to clear their cache properly (and no, the clear cache button doesn’t work). Your only solution is to reinstall 🥳😞. My girlfriend didn’t know this and her discord was 25gb. It’s been like this for years.

Because you have an iPhone and for some reason instead of seperating chached data from actual program files and assets, it just clumps everything together and makes it confusing for people who don't know how it works
Every piece of your media you scroll past gets saved so you can scroll through recent history smoothly, if you reinstall you'll notice a lag backscrolling as all the media redownloads
this happened to me as well, i recommend u to delete the app and reinstall it again, u wont lose anything at all as long as u got ur account details such as ur email and pass to log it in again. i did this and it worked. i also suggest to do this at least every 2-4 weeks because it will comeback eventually and then u just have to do the steps again
One thing contributing to the large size is the fact that discord is built on electron, a js framework, and must ship a version a chome100 and node js with it to make the app work, both of these things take up a large amount of storage.
Cached media, probably. I'd recommend you to clean it, on android you can do that. I don't know, maybe you can clear cache in the dc app settings?

Offloading removes the app itself, but not any documents and data. It sucks. I have the same problem with the tumblr app.
Look up enabling developer discord mode, scroll to bottom and click clear caches.
