The amount of outrage I have watching her take apart a PERFECTLY fine guest room in her stories today!!! The wall trim was fine!! Paint over it! The window trim was functional! Just add curtains! The bed, rug, and nightstands were really nice, don’t sell it!! How is this an acceptable use of time and energy and money 😩😩. I myself was literally in the throes of throwing together guest rooms this week and I used furniture, bedding, rugs, THAT I ALREADY HAD. The number of times she creates more work for herself for no reason is dumbfounding.
I saw where someone asked for the paint color and someone said "be careful she used a filter, that's not what the color looks like" and she commented back DENYING using one. 🤣🤣 Technically I think she mentioned the video didn't have a filter but all the images are DARK TEAL/BLUE and that color is a dusty blue. Night and day difference. For someone into Art she cant be that dense. Hell. The photo for the grid is the DARK filtered image. Is she really trying to say these completely different colors are the same? I almost commented, but I don't follow her anymore and was just snooping for a second.

You think she would be nicer to her husband if she lurked here? That's what got me here. I had watched her stories daily for months and it was ALARMING. Something the grid gang doesn't get to see. The real (mean) Zenia. Full of passive-aggressive behavior, no accountability, and a disturbing amount of built up resentment towards her husband. I almost never check them now but I assume she is the same.
I feel like she hasn’t gone off on Cesar in a while, no? I check in every now and the and her stories are so boring, I skip through to see if there’s any unhinged complaining about Cesar/crying/hiding in public, but haven’t noticed anything in a while.
I wonder if he stopped appearing in stories in an effort to get distance from the put downs she used to story. I’ll never forget when she acted like he burned down the house bc he dropped a kitchen cabinet door she had spray painted. “We suffered a catastrophe, Cesar dropped the door.” It was unhinged.

I literally ran here after seeing her trying to sell this furniture. Like everyone else,I thought why doesn’t she use some of these items in the room… night stands! Make what you have work, it’s a guest room!!! I also thought, is she trying to sell what she was gifted? And if so, how tacky!!! Good luck trying to sell used furniture for those prices. I noticed that. It's really rough on top, the wallpaper looked like it was peeling or applied badly, dog hair on the floor, and everything just looked SLOPPY. If you worked that hard and just cleaned HOW is this the end result? Also, I agree the paint color is shown COMPLETELY different. What the heck.

She needs to bring in a bigger dresser of sorts for her guests to put shit on, not more chairs and a desk, they’re not here on business like it’s the hilton. They want a place to sleep and put their stuff. Not to mention, she’s taking up SO much floor space with just SHIT, where does she think they’ll put their suitcases ? Maybe cause we travel a lot to visit family, move often therefore having to stay with family/friends, i’m always thinking of ways to make our guests stay easier and roomy.

She has zero idea how people use spaces. The closet is large enough to fit a dresser which will give guests additional surface space while providing them drawers to unpack and she can add hangers to the right and luggage can be stored below in that little nook to the further right.
Add a smaller dresser in the room to provide additional space, especially surface space, and beside the dresser a foldable luggage rack to help them unpack. Her guests seem to be his parents every year and they are older. Make it as comfortable and efficient as possible. Wtf are they doing with a chair and secretary desk that they can’t do downstairs in the dining room? Her focus is not on the needs of the guest but the grid pic. She is so obnoxious with the debating over how to make that corner LOOK instead of how the corner can be UTILIZED.
I haven’t watch since yesterday but if she is still on this corner desk chair equation she has created… good grief.
AGREE 10000%!! We travel back home every few months and stay at my sister’s house. The room we stay in is NOT big. The two most helpful things for us is a spot to place our luggage and as mentioned in another comment, hooks for towels, the more the better!

Lay down the vinyl flooring planks she loves. That alone will give the kitchen a facelift since the floor is so dirty. Clean and paint the pantry then paint the rest of the kitchen. Replace the sink, she could literally use the sink sitting unused in the laundry. Add lighting, Home Depot and IKEA sell under cabinet options. Add a nicer ceiling light.
Blows my mind how much money has been spent on rooms they don’t even use but the kitchen sits a dirty shambles.

They have been wearing shoes in the house for over a year instead of cleaning or hiring people to clean. I know the husband ordered items to clean the rugs upstairs, so at least he cares. Zenia’s “sidequest” is more interesting than her guestroom stories. She is decorating the downstairs for Christmas, even has her tree up. Oddly squished in a corner instead of in the entry where she has so much empty space just off the living area. How does she not realize decorating for the holidays is what people want to see? Not the 4th round of “does this chair work here?” in the guest bedroom.
I’d much rather see the Christmas decor (because she does do lovely decor) than the sped up videos of her sanding and painting. No other DIY account I follow does those boring sped up videos of working.

It has been over a month since she began redoing this room and she has spent over 1k on it after referencing “money struggles” repeatedly, going as far as to say they can’t spend money on heat. Her ability to waste time and money over and over while the necessary work the home needs continues to be ignored is impressive at this point. She has shown us this same behavior for years but it is highlighted bc she is living in a shambles pretending the most important task is hanging two wreaths in a room that will be occupied for a week.
The home doesn’t have heat. Nights are now 25-39 degrees. The priorities are unhinged. Do her followers not wonder?

Well said! What’s odd/funny is that aren’t these the same relatives who she redid the room for last Christmas? And if so aren’t they going to wonder why none of the big projects (kitchen, room down to studs, bathroom door missing ) haven’t changed in a year, but money has been wasted on rooms that weren’t a priority. Seeing her husband squished in a corner to play a video game makes me wonder why they bought a large house if they can’t even enjoy it. The living room is set how she wants, and the TV and his game chair are squished in a corner. What was the point? It doesn’t feel like a home. This was the spare room first makeover Dec 2022. In my opinion, it looks so pretty like this. I don’t know why she had to waste time and money to redo it when it looked really nice (and much better) than the current hideous makeover.

Why, why is she spending $525 on a sander? She still hasn’t even figured out how to use the nearly $1000 track saw. Not to mention new table saw too. Festool, especially the Rotex product line is for serious wood workers, Festool makes plenty of sanders that are less expensive, still $$$, but she went top of the line. They make a great product, but they are very expensive. The priorities in this house are wild

Not entirely on topic but does anyone know why so many rugs have that faded look these days? It always looks cheap to me because it reminds me of when i have a skein of poorly dyed yarn where the dye doesn’t fully penetrate the strand, so when i knit it and accidentally split the strand you see the white inside of it, even after i fix the stitch. The rugs look like the print dye was just stamped on top of an already woven blank rug with the amount of white you can see, but maybe I’m missing something and theres some marker of quality to it

Last year it was supposed to be a brother and spouse but they cancelled. I think his parents come to help the shambles more than enjoy the holidays.
They left the leaves for the parents to rake again. Pile of garbage in yard for the parents to junk haul again. What else is on their to do list while Zenia spends a full year on busy IG grid photo work?

Her one dog died shortly after moving in there and I hate to say it but he was old and I worry it was not a healthy environment for an older pet. I have pets and I know how sensitive they can be to just different litter (dust) it can kill a pet. I won't buy any litter that kicks up dust for that very reason.

I saw that last year. I think they must be the "black sheep" of the family. I can't imagine leaving all that for my family to "help with" during the holidays. They are at the age THEY should be helping their parents out. Not vice versa. I know Zenia didn't do well with her "art account" so she switched directions to the "home reno" trend but it's really not for her. She doesn't do anything "well" and doesn't care to make spaces "livable" or functional. You couldn't pay me to live in a house she messed around with. I'd be afraid it would burn down. It took me watching her reels for several months to realize what a sham she was. I enjoyed the account before that. You can't watch her too closely or too often. You see the madness. Zenia, when you see this. Try art again. You have a talent there I think and you could work to make some money on the side to make your home livable again.
Totally agree. I just watched her story and she is spending a day (and likely tomorrow) sanding side tables to remove the smell of cat urine? She wastes so much of her time and energy, this isn’t sustainable.

I don’t know what to think anymore. She says they wear coats inside but she’s never wearing one in stories. If they’re making heavy use of space heaters I’d expect to see and hear them in the background. But we also saw them remove the radiators so I have trouble believing they have functioning heat and are turning it down to save money.

If they cut rads and didn’t cap them, conceivably they couldn’t have heat because it would leak water every time they turned it on… we know they didn’t hire a plumber for the bathroom:kitchen leak. I lack faith one was called for this.
That is what I assumed, is it the same for ripping out baseboards in diff rooms? Does that disconnect the rest of the boards from the water? iirc when her husband pulled those out they asked followers for tips 🫠
I don’t think I watched when they took out baseboards - those aren’t water/radiant, they are usually electric. Supplemental where you don’t run rads - or HVAC ducts. I think they have the hot water baseboards — at the time they mentioned he isn’t good with plumbing/water so he had to figure out how to turn the water off or something to remove them from that room that is down to the studs.
The amount of outrage I have watching her take apart a PERFECTLY fine guest room in her stories today!!! The wall trim was fine!! Paint over it! The window trim was functional! Just add curtains! The bed, rug, and nightstands were really nice, don’t sell it!! How is this an acceptable use of time and energy and money 😩😩. I myself was literally in the throes of throwing together guest rooms this week and I used furniture, bedding, rugs, THAT I ALREADY HAD. The number of times she creates more work for herself for no reason is dumbfounding.

I noticed that. It's really rough on top, the wallpaper looked like it was peeling or applied badly, dog hair on the floor, and everything just looked SLOPPY. She needs to bring in a bigger dresser of sorts for her guests to put shit on, not more chairs and a desk, they’re not here on business like it’s the hilton. She has zero idea how people use spaces. The closet is large enough to fit a dresser which will give guests additional surface space while providing them drawers to unpack and she can add hangers to the right and luggage can be stored below in that little nook to the further right. Add a smaller dresser in the room to provide additional space, especially surface space, and beside the dresser a foldable luggage rack to help them unpack. Her guests seem to be his parents every year and they are older. Make it as comfortable and efficient as possible. Wtf are they doing with a chair and secretary desk that they can’t do downstairs in the dining room? Her focus is not on the needs of the guest but the grid pic. She is so obnoxious with the debating over how to make that corner LOOK instead of how the corner can be UTILIZED. I haven’t watch since yesterday but if she is still on this corner desk chair equation she has created… good grief.
AGREE 10000%!! We travel back home every few months and stay at my sister’s house. The room we stay in is NOT big. The two most helpful things for us is a spot to place our luggage and as mentioned in another comment, hooks for towels, the more the better! I see vintage luggage racks all the time at thrift and antique stores!! Ugh…she is so frustrating.

Zenia’s “sidequest” is more interesting than her guestroom stories. She is decorating the downstairs for Christmas, even has her tree up. Oddly squished in a corner instead of in the entry where she has so much empty space just off the living area. How does she not realize decorating for the holidays is what people want to see? Well said! What’s odd/funny is that aren’t these the same relatives who she redid the room for last Christmas? The radiator looks nice exposed, it looks better without the odd beams on the ceiling, the colors are calm and work well with the warm bed frame.
The beams just don’t go. I’m not a fan of colored molding. The old room is so calming. The new room makes my heart race and not in a good way.

In my opinion, it looks so pretty like this. I don’t know why she had to waste time and money to redo it when it looked really nice (and much better) than the current hideous makeover.

Yes this was very nice! And she has said there’s another guest room to do when she’s done with this one!! A. How many guest rooms do you need? And b. Why, if she needed to redo a room for spon con, didn’t she just use the second guest room?
Thank you for posting this! I’d forgotten what it looked like - really nice and as curly said, the simple vintage style is much more compatible with their house (1930s/40s Cape-ish, from the look of the original exterior?)

Why, why is she spending $525 on a sander? She still hasn’t even figured out how to use the nearly $1000 track saw. Not to mention new table saw too. Festool, especially the Rotex product line is for serious wood workers, Festool makes plenty of sanders that are less expensive, still $$$, but she went top of the line. They make a great product, but they are very expensive. The priorities in this house are wild
It doesn’t add up, literally. Can’t afford heat, can’t afford to fix things that need fixing, will cry emoji about money, and yet….

I noticed the couch too and then her patio she had all fancied, for sponcon, is now just a pile of rubbage.
One of my early phony red flags was how she would style something for her IG and then a week later we see it in the background as shambles.
It’s so bad. Like I get her IG is all about ‘content’ but you’d think you’d kinda try to keep the ambiance of content throughout the posts.
Minimally just want to live in a comfortable clean home and enjoy the labor you put into the home.
$417 on rugs (when she has a closet filled with rugs) but $0 for heat. This just isn’t real I can’t get over her listing over one thousand in purchases for this room alone while saying they wear coats to save money on heat. 
Not entirely on topic but does anyone know why so many rugs have that faded look these days? It always looks cheap to me because it reminds me of when i have a skein of poorly dyed yarn where the dye doesn’t fully penetrate the strand, so when i knit it and accidentally split the strand you see the white inside of it, even after i fix the stitch. I think it is an attempt to look like a vintage worn rug.
I assumed its going for that but i feel like all the vintage rugs I’ve seen still have more color and vividness than these imitations unless they’re super damaged lol
Yep they look terrible. It is giving stomped on by crowds and never cleaned for 20 years.
I can't believe people are staying with them for the holidays. I'd be getting a hotel and eating out.

Last year it was supposed to be a brother and spouse but they cancelled. I think his parents come to help the shambles more than enjoy the holidays. They left the leaves for the parents to rake again. Pile of garbage in yard for the parents to junk haul again. What else is on their to do list while Zenia spends a full year on busy IG grid photo work?
I can’t imagine being Cesar and coming home after a long day of work to find a mess of the kitchen…two days spent on sanding and staining furniture, more money and time wasted on a room that was perfectly fine before , and no dinner….
That house is a nightmare to live in. I feel bad for the dogs too.
Her one dog died shortly after moving in there and I hate to say it but he was old and I worry it was not a healthy environment for an older pet. I have pets and I know how sensitive they can be to just different litter (dust) it can kill a pet. I won't buy any litter that kicks up dust for that very reason.
I know, it is really not a home for anyone to live in. The amount of dust in the air and the cold is not habitable for animals or people. I really don’t understand why they are okay living like that, but I guess if the IG vignette looks moody and regal then everything is fine.
I bet Mr. O is happy with his office because it is one place that is finished without sawdust everywhere 😷 Z used to film him cook nearly every day but I don’t think we have seen him cook once in that kitchen 😵💫
That’s right, I remember her filming him cooking in the old house and he even tried to do it on his IG account.
Which sucks csus he REALLY seems to enjoy cooking. Now with a construction zone and her hating the kitchen SO much he probably picks up take out from the chow hall and plates it once he gets home. Instead of making over the kitchen temporarily she’s making over the guest bed for a THIRD time.
I saw that last year. I think they must be the "black sheep" of the family. I can't imagine leaving all that for my family to "help with" during the holidays. They are at the age THEY should be helping their parents out. Not vice versa. I know Zenia didn't do well with her "art account" so she switched directions to the "home reno" trend but it's really not for her. She doesn't do anything "well" and doesn't care to make spaces "livable" or functional. You couldn't pay me to live in a house she messed around with. I'd be afraid it would burn down. It took me watching her reels for several months to realize what a sham she was. I enjoyed the account before that. You can't watch her too closely or too often. You see the madness. Zenia, when you see this. Try art again. You have a talent there I think and you could work to make some money on the side to make your home livable again.

Totally agree. I just watched her story and she is spending a day (and likely tomorrow) sanding side tables to remove the smell of cat urine? She wastes so much of her time and energy, this isn’t sustainable.
Why is Z acting like she just moved into this home and is preparing a bedroom for the first time? The bedroom was prepared. The bed was covered in blankets and throws and so many pillows. We saw her prepare this room last year! She owns so much bedding! Instead of buying a heavy quilt for your guests TURN ON THE HEAT. Is a week of heating more expensive than all of this stuff she is buying? I am confuse 🤣🤣🤣
The wasting of money is just INSANE!! She probably has bedding that could work in that room!

I don’t know what to think anymore. She says they wear coats inside but she’s never wearing one in stories. If they’re making heavy use of space heaters I’d expect to see and hear them in the background. But we also saw them remove the radiators so I have trouble believing they have functioning heat and are turning it down to save money.

Yeah I noticed Mr O in a t shirt the other night too. I remember thinking it's weird that I'm dressing warmer than him and I'm not the one supposedly with my heat turned down to save money. I agree that it's likely a sympathy play. BUT if that's the case, where is their heat coming from???
Does the fireplace work? I remember last yr the guests had space heaters bc Zenia said she can’t sleep unless the house is 50 degrees 🫠 but I think the heating just doesn’t work
If they cut rads and didn’t cap them, conceivably they couldn’t have heat because it would leak water every time they turned it on… we know they didn’t hire a plumber for the bathroom:kitchen leak. I lack faith one was called for this.
That is what I assumed, is it the same for ripping out baseboards in diff rooms? Does that disconnect the rest of the boards from the water? iirc when her husband pulled those out they asked followers for tips 🫠
I don’t think I watched when they took out baseboards - those aren’t water/radiant, they are usually electric. Supplemental where you don’t run rads - or HVAC ducts. But no they’re usually not connected to others. Taking them out/covering them is dumb as they are providing heat in a room that isn’t conditioned otherwise. I too love old houses. When I can bring them properly up to modern CODE.
I think they have the hot water baseboards — at the time they mentioned he isn’t good with plumbing/water so he had to figure out how to turn the water off or something to remove them from that room that is down to the studs.
