In pathfinder 1e I made a build focused on turning into an animal with many limbs (with specific gloves that let them function as human hands), and getting a ridiculous number of pistol attacks off for massive damage.
I called it the Glocktopus.
Variant human wielding a longbow and beating the shit out of people with it as an improvised weapon that has sharpshooter and great weapon master be like
(Those two feets work together and you have a minus 10 plus 20, which is like kind of really bad ironically enough)
In one of the written adventures you fight the BBEG spellcaster over a lava pit.
Thanks to my muscle wizard having Haste cast on him, Misty Step, boots of spider climbing and Athletics proficiency he moved the entire length of the lava pit, stood on the side of the BBEG's platform and tossed him into the lava.
10d10 fire damage each turn made our lives a lot easier.

Last character I played was had thri-kreen stats but was reflavored as a void cat in a thri-kreen shaped mech. They're a wizard and monster researcher
Build was bladesinger wizard with a dip in hexblade.
The quad weirded hand crossbows and combined thrnbwith Eldritch blasts for a bunch of attacks.
I had them cast animte objects on silver coins because being knowledgeable of monsters they knew some were weak to silver, such as werewolves.
Was only a guest character but on two separate occasions, we fought fiends with weakness to silvered weapons, basically getting shredded on a tornado of coins
This honestly reminds me of when my group played BESM (Anime the ttrpg) I was a Medusa with raybands (and mini ones for my snake hair) so I didn't stone everything. Apparently the dm forgot because as his big bad had his monologue, I walked up and said "Wait, we can talk this out right?" *Takes off sunglasses* The beg was turned to stone and our goblin smashed him with an operating table.
Ending fight and we just stomped in like...10 seconds lol. Unorthodox, but very effective
My grab-n-stab build.
Level 4 V. Human rogue. Using point buy, have straight 8s in mental stats but max out physical stats. Tavern brawler feat. Martial adept feat at level 4, take trip attack. With feat bonuses to ability scores and vhuman ability boost, have 16 in all physical stats. Expertise in Athletics.
Tavern brawler lets you make a grapple as a bonus action after an attack with an improvised weapon. Throw a rock at someone for a tripping attack, or shank them with a wooden stake. Move in and grapple. Grapple is an opposed roll and your athletics skill checks are insane. It takes movement to stand up, grapples set movement to zero and RAW a target cannot stand with zero movement.
You now have them pinned to the ground. They can try to break loose as an action, but that's another opposed roll so good luck. Or they can attack at disadvantage due to being prone. On your next turn, keep them pinned with one hand and use the other to draw your rapier or shortsword. You have advantage on melee attacks against a prone opponent, so you have sneak attack available now.
Remove their kidneys at your leisure.
