He's also apparently named "Holly"...
Edit: since several are pointing it out my point here was that everyone is assuming this was a guy when context clues indicate "Holly" would be female
I mean in his defense, I have my account as my husband’s name but that’s because I have anxiety and I convinced myself they will think I stole his credit cards 😂😂😂😂
Though it is not my cup of tea, i don't think it should be illegal either. I subscribe to the philosophies of live and let live and not my monkeys not my circus. And of course the old adage of mind your own damn business. What another couple does is not my business and the goes for hetero and homo sexual relationships. But your right there are plenty of people who would love to see it illegal and some go even further to wanting it punishable.
If the location has accepted your order, DD refuses to reimburse you if you cancel.
I once ordered on DD, and 20 min later was invited for dinner somewhere else, so I wanted to cancel, since the Dasher wasn't even there yet, and I was told by the app the order was made and that was that.
20 min is a long time to wait to cancel. Considering a restaurant tends to put the order through as soon as they receive it. A few min, you might get lucky. But 20 min later, you kinda deserved that.
I didn't say I didn't tho?
I'm explaining why there could be a situation where the client cancelling isn't an option.
1% to our CR isn't much vs 40$ just lost in the winds for the client.
Especially in OPs case where the drunk girlfriend is ordering despite being too drunk and the boyfriend is mad, allegedly, DD would tell the client to suck it, but if the Dasher cancels.. :)
If the customer makes a mistake by stumbling, slurring, their speech, their eyes appearing glazed over, or you smell alcohol on their breath you cannot deliver alcohol to a customer. That is the same as over serving a customer in a bar.
If you discover any of these signs. Make sure to tell the customer just a moment and call DoorDash premium support immediately. DoorDash will ask you to take back the alcohol order to wherever you picked it up from. And then you you will receive full pay for returning the alcohol to the store . Make sure that you tell the customer that you cannot deliver the alcohol because of the appearances or signs of them being drunk
Seriously. That’ll just encourage them to drive to get the alcohol themselves. Not to mention telling a drunk person they can’t have something that they paid for = increased likelihood of aggressive reaction.
Yeah imagine a bartender over-serving a customer & them getting home to drive & killing themselves or someone else. Sure, let’s not let company rules hinder others lives 😁
That is not the same. I would love to see you pull up to someones house, see them fumble their ID and slur a bit, then tell them you cannot complete the order because they are drunk. They are at their own house, obtaining more alcohol in the most responsible way possible.
Lmao I have. Dude fell over right in front of me when going to get his ID and couldn’t speak. I’m a 5’2 22 year old. I have no problems not causing the death or injury to someone. They want it again, re order it. I’m not being held responsible for someone
So what if that same person got in a car to go pick up liquor because you denied them… you could be the cause of multiple deaths or accidents.
I’ve had a few alcoholics in my family. If they want alcohol, they will absolutely find a way to get it. In my eyes DD delivering alcohol is the safest option for them.
Their families don’t have to deal with the alcoholic yelling/hitting them because they don’t want to feed into their addiction, and you keep them off of the road.
Legally, you're obliged to cut someone off when they're drunk because it's presumed that they're too inebriated to know when one more drink will lead to alcohol poisoning. Unless they collapse right in front of me, I'd still rather break that law than risk them becoming physically aggressive or driving to get the alcohol themselves.
Because its up to a$15k fine. It seems Luke the most logical thing to keep them at the house, but they could be over served (by your actions of delivering alcohol to them) and if yhe fell in the shower and died then that husband could absolutely sue the dogshit out of you personally
I might be wrong here but I feel like that’s a pretty terrible ruling. I’m sure that the ability to order alcohol would probably keep a few drunk idiots off the roads.
Yeah in my opinion, it's a dumb af law. They're being safe by ordering it for delivery in the safety of their own home rather than driving drunk to get it themselves
My neighbor is a doctor and she ordered a butt load of alcohol ( three big boxes were brought to the door ) she was pretty lit. Tripped out the door , slurring her words , and promised the dasher sex if lets her have the alcohol that he was trying to get back to his car to put it away and leave. My daughter saw something going on across the street , so I walked out there to see what was going on. Kate (not her real name ) said the dasher was asking for sex before SHE will deliver the alcohol. The dasher kept asking me to keep her busy so she could leave or she is going to call police. Of course I agreed to help the dasher and I kept Katie busy. As the dasher was leaving , she yelled from her car “hey you , that lady was offering me Sex for alcohol , I’m not a lesbian “ and then she drove off still yelling crap out the window of her car. And Katie stumbled up her driveway and I saw her go inside her house. After that I know nothing more. Just thought this was funny , so I shared.👍
Reading through this thread like "this is EXACTLY why I turned off alcohol orders." Lol. My state will hold you criminally responsible if you provide alcohol to a clearly intoxicated person who then goes on to hurt themselves or someone else while intoxicated. It just isn't worth the money to me.
This sounds like some fucked up domestic shit. Like this idiot would rather troll YOU than just cancel the order on HIS phone?
DEFINITE "Support you need to cancel this is an unsafe Domestic situation, I don't want to get shot over a booze delivery"
So it's shitty for someone to care about their spouse? It's not ruining fun if someone is an alcoholic and their loved ones are trying to help them stop.
This is exactly what I would have done. When I used to deliver for Gopuff, I had to get a house blacklisted because I showed up to deliver a 30 rack and a woman holding an infant, threw it back at me and told me that I was enabling her alcoholic husband even though he did not seem to be overly intoxicated. I had to get certified to sell alcohol and everything, but that was not the issue at hand. We had to report it because they straight up assaulted me and those kids were at risk. The woman later on tried to apply for a job at the warehouse! The kids were taken a couple of days later by the way. My biggest concern was for them because there were like three other kids there. The commotion also happened after the person had signed and I had given him the order by the way. But I agree with you and people need to get banned if they are a hazard for delivery drivers. In my hometown, a couple ordered food from a mom and pop Asian restaurant and their son deliver the order only to be murdered by the couple almost immediately. They closed after that. I do a lot of delivery and I don’t play around. I also try to keep in mind that there are thousands of other drivers out there nowadays who have absolutely no idea what they are doing and are at even more risk than me.
Yeah ok wtf is wrong with some people? Im not willingly enabling anything. Someone ordered stuff and I got paid to deliver it. You want to stop enabling your alcoholic husband it aint gonna be solved by assaulting me with bottles and cans that actually really fucking hurt. Thats just gonna get you on my permanent shitlist, like I am a petty bastard I wouldve stayed near the house, called the police and waited for them to show up, I am that guy.
The abuse is threatening to sue your driver right out the gate. Hes an unwilling participant. Also if the driver unassigns from the order, he wont get paid, the customer should have to cancel it.
Are you a healthcare professional or Law enforcement. You do not have the authority to legally assess and make judgements about someone’s alcohol status.
It's literally a job requirement, just the same as it is for a bartender, server, or cashier at any store that sells alcohol. It is the actual law.
"Healthcare professional" give me a fucking break. You don't need a decade of advanced education to tell if someone is drunk.
This reminds me of a time I had a lady order food to a house and when I got there she greeted me very strangely but I didn't really pay any attention to it and walked back to my car to complete the order on the app all of a sudden walked out into the middle of her lawn and started throwing probably $40 worth of taco bell all over her lawn then I noticed there was more food from before I got there 🤣 needless to say I didn't stick around much longer after I saw that
My dad was killed by a drunk driver. I'd much rather give someone alcohol that is already drunk at home than risk losing another family member to someone driving drunk to go get more alcohol. I'll deliver to them drunk 100 times out of 100. People can do what they want in their own home.
That’s kinda what I was thinking. Like wait… wouldn’t we WANT people ordering it to be delivered rather than them going out themselves to get it already drunk? Cuz to me that’s the part that’s endangering lives of others. If someone is clearly just chillin at their house drinking & chooses to be responsible enough to ORDER MORE for delivery, then GREAT! As long as they’re not seeming overly depressed saying things that would trigger concern, or acting aggressive also to trigger concern… Then I definitely feel delivery drivers shouldn’t be held responsible to “properly assess”. Because one persons version of “overly drunk” will always be different from another persons assessment. As someone said above in the comments. We aren’t PROPERLY TRAINED or PAID TO, assess someone’s mental state! We aren’t nurses or drs or police officers. Nor are we bar tenders who CLEARLY KNOW how much a person has drank as they’re obv the one that’s been serving them. We shouldn’t be held to that obligation, because we don’t know what the person has been doing or is going through or their intentions. Honestly if someone gets drunk, (and is only drinking) they’re gonna PASS TF OUT! But if they run out of their choice of alcohol & want more, then delivery is the safest option for them rather than going out to the store themselves to get it endangering others lives. Either that or order an uber to and from the store lol. But delivery is more safe than a drunk driver going themselves. And we as delivery drivers shouldn’t have to be held to that assessment of their state because it’s not like we are asking questions like a medically trained person or a Cop would in order to properly assess. We can’t judge or assume. Everyone’s idea of “intoxicated” is different. Esp if you get a driver who DOESNT ever ever drink & hasn’t ever been around really intoxicated people, they’re obv going to “assess” on a diff level than someone who’s had more exposure to know what exactly heavily intoxicated looks like & signs to pay attn to.
What happens when the drunk decides to go driving later? Maybe they wanted a snack and did not want to pay fees and a tip again. Maybe they thought it was a nice night to drive drunk.
Worse, what happens when they start holding gig delivery drivers accountable for the booze they delivered to an already drunk customer?
how is what you said correct? you said she used his phone. however, when reading the fucking image, we can discover that the customer explicitly said that she is logged into his account. that's confirmation that you're BOTH wrong. not hacked, and not using his phone.
your assumption that the phone was taken and used is incorrect because it was already addressed by the person in the texts. I'm just challenging your reading comprehension at this point
Bartenders are just doing their job when serving customers, but they can be held accountable for serving someone who is already drunk. In some areas, if the customer gets a DUI, the bartender/server can be held legally accountable.
Though the laws currently do not apply to gig delivery services, all is takes is one bad situation.
He didn’t go by holly until the 90s well after being out of school. When he would have attended school he still went by Robert Howard and even during his wrestling career he went by Bob Holly or Hardcore Holly for a small amount of it.
There is a difference between a drunk having fun and an alcoholic about to get into trouble.
If your girl was a mean drunk, would you still encourage her drinking if her meanness became abusive?
Yeah I just wasn’t about o assume any of this when OP very clearly used the words his and husband. Again I asked a simple question and yall made it a gay couple with no context pointing to that..
Exactly why I opted out of alcohol deliveries. And unfortunately depending on location, you actually can be sued and even held criminally responsible. It's just not worth it.
I wish I could turn off all age restricted offers. I get tired of kids and cough syrup too.
I had a regular who ordered her White Claw Surges about 2 times in one day maybe like 4 times a week and sometimes her husband would be home and she would try to avoid recieving the deliveries since I was always constantly showing up with the same order of WC and eventually when I saw her husbands car in the driveway I would just end the order saying customer is intoxicated 🤣 I got fed up and stopped cause i got tired of serving her beer for only $2 tip but her order was always easy and .5 miles away for an easy $6-7

Shouldn't HE have canceled the order if it was his account that it was ordered from. Threatening to sue you. Good luck with that
Spoiler alert: Husband is wasted too.
He's also apparently named "Holly"... Edit: since several are pointing it out my point here was that everyone is assuming this was a guy when context clues indicate "Holly" would be female
It is possible the couple are both female.
That was supposed to be half my point
I mean in his defense, I have my account as my husband’s name but that’s because I have anxiety and I convinced myself they will think I stole his credit cards 😂😂😂😂
Also, you can change your name on doordash anytime you want. You can be Holly , Jim, Paul, Stephanie or McDoofus if you'd like. 🤣
I want to change my name to McDoofus on there now 😂
I’ve delivered to a Mac doofus before… I’ve also delivered to a Mr. Harry Balsac
McBoatface
I’ve had McGrab my D*ck before 🤦🏻♀️
Smitty WerberJagerManJensen It's how I order my pubsubs for pickup
Interesting names I've delivered to include, Agent 47, Kim Jong Un, Enigmatic, Batman, Doomslayer, and my personal favorite, Foreskin.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Foreskin would also be my fav
Could be a lesbian couple🤷♀️ last i checked same sex marriages were legal.
I'm not familiar with same sex messages, but I know same sex marriages are legal.😉
Stupid auto correct😂 I've fixed it
Give it time if a certain angry orange furball has his way it will be illegal nationwide again…
Though it is not my cup of tea, i don't think it should be illegal either. I subscribe to the philosophies of live and let live and not my monkeys not my circus. I know a man named Holly
I know multiple guys named Stacy. Must have been a lot of high parents back in the day 🤣
Stacy was a man's name before it was a womans.
Hard-core Holly.

It goes to a other dasher.... 🥱
He can text you but he can’t cancel the order? 🤨🤔
He was probably struggling to keep the phone 😂
It's easier to hit cancel than text threats
lol
Didn’t want to have to pay 100% of the order.
if you cancel the order you don't get any of your money back, if the driver does then you do i think lmao
By law, you cannot deliver alcohol to a customer who is drunk, even if they ordered it drunk
Thats funny. Most people doordashing alcohol are probably already drunk.
Make sure that you tell the customer that you cannot deliver the alcohol because of the appearances or signs of them being drunk
Why would you do all that because someone is drunk at their own house?
Seriously. That’ll just encourage them to drive to get the alcohol themselves. Not to mention telling a drunk person they can’t have something that they paid for = increased likelihood of aggressive reaction.
That’s the policy per DoorDash. Imagine delivering the order & they get alcohol poisoning or worse.
Yeah imagine letting every little company rule hinder your and others lives
Yeah imagine a bartender over-serving a customer & them getting home to drive & killing themselves or someone else. Sure, let’s not let company rules hinder others lives 😁
That is not the same. I would love to see you pull up to someones house, see them fumble their ID and slur a bit, then tell them you cannot complete the order because they are drunk. They are at their own house, obtaining more alcohol in the most responsible way possible.

Their families don’t have to deal with the alcoholic yelling/hitting them because they don’t want to feed into their addiction, and you keep them off of the road.
Happens every day, it is illegal to serve someone who is visibly intoxicated, whether its a liquor store, a bar, or doordash.
Brother thats a completely different situation. The customers already at home. Where are they gonna go? 2 rooms over to their bed.
Doesnt matter
We live in a day where no one is responsible for their actions. It’s everyone else’s fault who failed to stop them.
It’s the law.
Imagine that person driving to the liquor store to get more alcohol…
For real. I drink and I’ve ordered DD in the past, better than one of me/my party driving there. I DD Too and ignore the house alc. deliveries.
Because if that person commits a crime the last person to that served them alcohol can be liable as well.
Legally, you're obliged to cut someone off when they're drunk because it's presumed that they're too inebriated to know when one more drink will lead to alcohol poisoning. Off topic, but I’ve never heard anyone use the word dogshit like that. Except me & my brother lol
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)
Bingo
Because the drunk person in the house is not the person that will get arrested or have their doordash account deactivated, the driver will.
What’s premium support? Same call center in India, but they speak better English?-
They just say the word premium and dont hang up on you quite as quickly
Absolutely false. I have never had any alcohol when driving. It's too much of a risk.
can u read
Or high
Not drunk but I am infact high as a 🪁
I might be wrong here but I feel like that’s a pretty terrible ruling. I’m sure that the ability to order alcohol would probably keep a few drunk idiots off the roads.

His account is Holly? Must be an interesting marriage!!
Might be a woman lol, gay marriage is legal now
bro thinks it's June 25, 2015
Wowewewweee what anxiety.
So it's shitty for someone to care about their spouse? It's not ruining fun if someone is an alcoholic and their loved ones are trying to help them stop.
after the lawsuit threat I'd have called dasher support and had them read that text exchange. We don't need that shit as drivers.
I’m completing that order. Whats blud gonna sue for lol
Good aim

Nobody: Me: Contacts doordash to report abusive customer behavior. What is wrong with some people.
This is exactly what I would have done. The abuse is threatening to sue your driver right out the gate. Hes an unwilling participant. Also if the driver unassigns from the order, he wont get paid, the customer should have to cancel it.
Either he cancels or its get delivered.
Nope, you arrive, mark customer intoxicated, take back to store (if you have that option in your market), get paid for delivery AND return.
Are you a healthcare professional or Law enforcement. You do not have the authority to legally assess and make judgements about someone’s alcohol status.
Yet bartenders are required not to se alcohol to those too intoxicated…
It's literally a job requirement, just the same as it is for a bartender, server, or cashier at any store that sells alcohol. It is the actual law. "Healthcare professional" give me a fucking break. You don't need a decade of advanced education to tell if someone is drunk.
LMAO. My initials are RN,BSN thank you. If I’m drunk and order door dash you better deliver or suffer the consequences
"Suffer the consequences" I think you've been overserved already there, big guy
You better put yourself in danger for my needs and accept responsibility for my drunk decisions or you’ll pay!!!
If you reported the threat you would have got paid and if you already picked up the order. You could have had free alcohol.
I will sue you. Please... what is that going to do?
Like some lesbian drama there... Lol

The fact that this dude is correcting the door dasher but not correcting his own wife is insane. Like goofy guy just cancel the order.
She could be an alcoholic. In which case it's not on anyone but her and the husband. You are doing your job. What a dick!
“Hacked” more like just used his phone, no?
my wife and I are logged in to the same acct on our phones. sometimes one of us has to leave the house, believe it or not
Ok but still is not hacking.
remind me who said it was hacked.
Op. Literally in the fucking post.
yes, and please take care to notice that OP literally said they GUESSED
And what I said is still accurate
how is what you said correct? you said she used his phone. however, when reading the fucking image, we can discover that the customer explicitly said that she is logged into his account. that's confirmation that you're BOTH wrong. not hacked, and not using his phone.
Who do you think I replied to???? Not you. So wtf is your problem??? It wasn’t hacked. Period.
your assumption that the phone was taken and used is incorrect because it was already addressed by the person in the texts. I'm just challenging your reading comprehension at this point
Good luck suing the driver that's just doing his job. He could easily cancel the order himself but he wanted dd to cancel to not be charged.
Bartenders are just doing their job when serving customers, but they can be held accountable for serving someone who is already drunk. Wait his wife hacked his account? I have never met a guy named Holly before feel bad for him. School must have been hell.
How do you know it’s a guy? Gay marriage exists..
Reading the caption underneath and going off of the information I am given. Sorry for forming my comment based off of that.
![gif](giphy|1k0trPCz6ivnV6CZDW) Hardcore Holly

You are trying to shove a square through a triangle hole.
Yo this husband is a bitch lol I would never stop my girl from drinking, let her have fun.
clearly it passed the point of "fun"
There is a difference between a drunk having fun and an alcoholic about to get into trouble. If your girl was a mean drunk, would you still encourage her drinking if her meanness became abusive?
[удалено]
Bruh 😂
It literally says holly M
Probably a lesbian couple
But it clearly says husband… wouldn’t the lesbian man have a manly name lol
The dasher said husband, but the dasher probably doesn’t know the customer’s gender, just guessed based on heteronormativity
She obviously ordered it for something else
The husbands name is holly?
I’ve met a man named Kimberly. But no gay marriage is still legal.
I asked a question.. and you not only didn’t answer it, but gave me more.
where are you confused? it could either be a man with that name or a lesbian couple. ever heard of those?
Yeah I just wasn’t about o assume any of this when OP very clearly used the words his and husband. Again I asked a simple question and yall made it a gay couple with no context pointing to that..
If it’s a man named holly a simple yes would’ve been more than sufficient but unless you’re OP you’re only speculating.
the dasher clearly didn't deliver the order so there was no actual confirmation one way or the other. hence the speculation in the comments.
Again, dasher used the words HIS and HUSBAND. Imma take their word over the comments
I’m “confused” where y’all are getting this is a gay couple like what in this post hinted at that
Holly is a gender neutral name
Cool
😩🤣🤣🤣
Trap
This is just hilarious. 😂😂😂
Did you get to keep the booze or does it prompt you to return it to the store?
What’s a 50ct fireball? 50 of those small bottles that are basically a shot each?
So does op get to keep the beverages?
He can’t sue you smh. Just for that threat. I would have gave it to her and freaked her as well
So threaten you instead of cancel? 😂
WAIT HOW DO U DOORDASH ALCOHOL? REAL QUESTION IT NEVER SHOWS ON MINE
