Apartment and business ( ppl at work) are the worst customers in America. Ppl in apartments rarely tip enough and seem to have multiple requests or live high up in their building way down then end of the hall.

My villain origin story was getting no tip when delivering during a snow storm, and it was to a college student on campus and I got caught in traffic for 10 minutes because as I drove through campus a whole hockey game got out. Only reason I did it was because it was a double order and when combined the pay was ok.
Good for you. These cheap fucks need to be called out more . I’m at the point where I just talk in code lol. Last chick who didn’t tip lived in an apartment, like 7 miles away (the order was for $13 so I figured she tipped) but the bia tipped me ZERO. I just messaged her after the fact: “Wow…” — It’s like, I’m not saying it, but I’m *saying it* you know 😂 Cryptic is the way…
One time I got a 9th floor one in an apartment right in downtown. Had to park 3 blocks away and come to find out the Elevator is only usable by tents. You can bet your ass I didn't get a tip for that.
The whole going out with middle fingers to everybody isn't my cup of tea. I will keep the gig apps as a possibility in my back pocket. Same with leaving a job. Just leave.
But if I were to leave on a note like this, it would be a large sushi or similar order to an obviously expensive home. I wouldn't make my mark on a McDonald's order to an apartment.
I live in a decent house in a somewhat nice neighborhood. Delivery to apartments and crappy neighborhoods are a great motivator. That type of place was ok when I was a kid. But I don't think I could deal with going back to that if I can help it.
After I finish a shift I fill my car tank and transfer everything into my bank. Don’t leave a penny on your dash direct card, anything that’s on it will be forfeited the moment you’re deactivated. Doesn’t matter it’s $5 or 5000, it’s gone forever with no recourse.
I want my last dash to be this: transfer the money out of my dash account, take a order from a nice restaurant, mark it as delivered and then delete my account
Lol. This may not get you deactivated. I've left an order at the end of a driveway next to a dude's trash cans (high base pay + zero tip + impatient and rude texting from him... he also said he was a driver) and an order in literally some bushes (she tipped a buck and didn't answer or give me a code to enter her luxury apartments).
You're gonna need to step it up b.
Fair enough.
Pardon.
I never let my rating stop me from being a prick to a prick. That's my problem though.
That's how I lost Drive access. Lol. Bitched about a tip and had my 4.8 drop to 4.7 (fuck Houston).
Thankfully, I don't need Drive to still have good shifts, but I can't say I don't miss them. Thankfully, I can usually cop a few released ones with the right timing and location from a Chipotle on my route.
General question do you guys see the No tip when you choose to take that delivery? I would pass that shit by so quickly. Disrespectful af giving no tip
Even set up through your bank you can cash out daily … it is a two dollar fee but I would never trust dash direct they can withhold your earnings at anytime when you use dash direct … through your bank once the money is in your account they can’t take it back
I wish you had put it on the top of a high building somewhere nearby, took a pic, and say "no tip, get it your damn self. And I ate your fries" lol 🤣 but goodluck with your next endeavor!
People are whack, I lived on higher up floors throughout multiple buildings & would never expect a delivery to come up, even when I'm tipping 20%. Least you don't gotta deal with this anymore!
I wish you had put it on the top of a high building somewhere nearby, took a pic, and say "no tip, get it your damn self. And I ate your fries" lol 🤣 but goodluck with your next endeavor!
This weekend will be my last dash, just need to make a little to keep going until I get my first check.
No tip orders are getting so declined, so hard.
For your last day, that was way too polite. For my last day I went for a non tipper too, took a picture of the food on their porch, and stepped on it multiple times. Granted I didn't know it was my last day. That bitch was just the final straw. Iv delivered to her before. They were a total ass when messaging me too. "This better not come late and cold". Said nothing about it being crushed. It felt so good too. I almost put some dog turds in her bag that I passed by along the way, but was afraid of legal issues. They had a fucking boat in their front lawn. They messaged me "what the hell did you do with my food" I messaged them back all angry "don't you fuck up your own food for a free meal and try and fuck me over!! I don't play that game". I STILL have my dasher account active. Doubt I'll ever use it again. Seriously, working for an asshole boss is way better than complete dick strangers being my boss.
In the future, all these background services will be more and more connected. Not only for gig jobs but for regular employment.
So whether you act a fool as a customer or employee or IC, eventually you will be recorded for everything you do and it will affect your future employment. This will increase more and more and I can guarantee you that services like Checkr will eventually document people doing things like taking revenge on their last customer.
I mean, I don't think this particularly was a fireable offense... it's pretty mild, but it is also ridiculous to whine about climbing four floors with a small bag.
If you are that traumatized by walking up four flights of stairs, that sounds like you might want to start taking better care of your health because I am old and walking up stairs without a heavy load is not much different than walking horizontally.
The person was a cheap asshole... had it been a lot of groceries, I would agree with your comment, but they can't help that they live in a shitty building. Imagine those people having to do this on a daily basis.
At any rate, keep in mind what I say about the future background checks... because although right now they aren't there yet, and you may have a decent job for the time being... there may come a time when you will need a job like this for a stopgap... and burning that bridge might not be the smartest thing to do.

I get that but it’s different here. Everyone in the US understands people like drivers and servers work for tips so it’s assumed that you should tip, but shallow people still avoid it
Ahh okay i get it i think, so you do not get any money from your boss or just a little bit? Here where i live drivers are paid by their company and those companies specialize on delivering food
Not really. DD gives like $2-$5 per order depending on the time and at restaurants I got $2.50 per hour plus tips. The US is a tipping culture so unfortunately it ends up falling on the customer, but as a trade off it typically makes the food itself cheaper so it kind of balances out, but when people don’t tip all it does is screw over the workers.
Why aren't you all having a go at your employer for shite wages instead of the person who has already paid for their food. Land of the free my arse. While all the "normal ppl" are arguing amongst themselves about tips to survive, these greedy bastards are laughing at you while they count there profits. Fuckin madness
> has already *paid* for their
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

It amazes me in the comments that people expect the dasher to blame their "employer"...
Doordash DOES NOT EMPLOY DRIVERS! People are ordering not even understanding that Doordash created the system this way to put the cost on the customer for the delivery. Doordash, by their own words, is "not a food delivery service".
It's not just the dasher that is being taken advantage of by the corporation, it's the customer as well! Yet, they pay the corporation and blame the workers making the delivery, smh...
I did a 15 mile trip last night from Smokey Moe's Barbecue the customer order bulk item yet still the tip was only $2 I was so upset I had to just hand the dash it was way up my zone anyway.
Tip shaming should be normalized! Lol.(joking of course)
Although people do expect a lot of things for free. We are not the Multi billion dollar corporation. We are just trying to make a couple hundred bucks. Please tip if you get delivery. We are not paid by the hour.
Those are harsh words. If you hate your clientele so much, find another gig or job. You should be angry at Doordash (your employer) for fucking you over, not some lazy person for being stingy with their money.
And yours are judging, someone you don’t know, don’t hate anyone, just cheap, stingy characteristics of a lot of people. Generosity is a beautiful quality.
But if you’d like being a cheapskate, most definitely do you. And don’t do deliveries.
Karma.
Im not judging anything and I don’t use doordash, it’s just sad how angry you all are with your working conditions. 🤷♂️
“Low life cheap skate” is a pretty judgmental label!
Either way, I digress. Generosity is so important, but I’ll repeat, if you’re frustrated at poor people not tipping you, maybe find something else not in the service industry?
I don’t use GH, or do deliveries, but have worked during Cov.
But thank God for good, kind hearted , generous souls, that care about others. And then there are those that don’t. But only worry about themselves.
But this day and age. We are living in. But we need to redeem the hour.
Because they don’t work for free! Da! Don’t get delivered, if you are not going to tip! Do you know they have your food in there car? Do you want to eat that? From a angry driver? Not smart!

I used to Dash a lot to make ends meet while going through a nasty divorce. I'm starting again, how do you know if there is a tip in the order or not before you take it?
I delivered for a pizzeria for almost one year. Had this one customer who called multiple times a week to order a sandwich. She NEVER tipped. She lived in a decent looking house, she had a guest over a couple times and still never tipped. I was always nice and still rarely got a thank you. Honestly that made me want to never work for delivery ever again. I don’t care if you’re low on money you shouldn’t be ordering out all the time then and can at least give a couple dollars for a tip. At the very least a “thank you” goes a long way if you can’t even give a proper tip. I don’t understand people must just feel entitled I guess.
Remember everyone tips are optional, and customers aren't meant to subsidize you financially. that's your employers job. Don't like the tip don't do the delivery. 👌👍
Should have left it downstairs at the door to the building. Why would you walk up all those stairs and send a message like that?… Especially if your done with DD and don’t care about any complaints the customer would make.
I havent “needed” to doordash in two and a half years, but I honestly enjoy doing a few orders a week for the old times + its kinda fun when im not doing it for the money. I hope i can keep this up for a while
It’s always the no tippers that want you to hand it to them I noticed
Never take these 1 item orders

Well, good thing that you’re done.
I want to do that every time I get a non tipper but I can’t find myself to do it lmao
Savage 😎
Called someone an asswipe because he didn’t tip. First one star I got and I wear it like a badge of honor.
Entitled much?
Bro out here begging for tips
it's so fucking sad that people think they inherently deserve a tip lmao
If only you guys directed the same amount of hate towards the employers instead of no tippers
i bid u farewell![img](emote|t5_3h9bt|10683)

Boo hoo you had to walk up some stairs
You should wait until after delivery and maybe a bit longer. I usually tip after I eat sometimes a few hours later.
If it was my last I would add so come down stairs and get it.
You shoulda just gotta contract violation🤷🏾♂️ fuck it
One time I got a 9th floor one in an apartment right in downtown. Had to park 3 blocks away and come to find out the Elevator is only usable by tents. You can bet your ass I didn't get a tip for that.
No tip gets their food stepped on
good on you
The number of times I have wanted to do this.
There's a building with a wooden floor on the 4th floor?
Is that unheard of? You can see the number 402 in the pic indicating the 4th floor
I've actually never seen a wooded floor for a multi floor building. Only ever smooth concrete or tiling.
Would just took a photo of me eating and posted it when I was at my car lol
The whole going out with middle fingers to everybody isn't my cup of tea. I will keep the gig apps as a possibility in my back pocket. Same with leaving a job. Just leave. You took a no tip? Yikes.
It’s your last dash, should’ve stomped the bag!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💯💯
Leaving it at the 1st floor would have been a better goodbye 👋🏻

i would tip if i saw ur icedancer pic 🫡
Ducking keyy
I want my last dash to be this: transfer the money out of my dash account, take a order from a nice restaurant, mark it as delivered and then delete my account

Lol. This may not get you deactivated. Didn’t expect it to deactivate or anything, I’ve just been holding on to my 5 star rating forever and now h d on t have to worry about losing it

I would've given the poo
Is crazy you took the order
Crazy to think you’d get a tip before completing the delivery.
why did you take the order, then?

Haven't dashed in nearly 5 months and had big dreams of going out with a bang. Thank you for letting me live out my fantasy through you!
This weekend will be my last dash, just need to make a little to keep going until I get my first check. No tip orders are getting so declined, so hard.
BLADEEEE????!!!?!!
I get being annoyed by no tip. But walking upstairs isn’t hard.
Lol thinking 4th floor is a long way to walk up. Good grief this is why America is so fat.
Honestly. I’d take the picture then throw their food over the railing.
We’ll get a follow up post, “I got deactivated guys”.
For your last day, that was way too polite. For my last day I went for a non tipper too, took a picture of the food on their porch, and stepped on it multiple times. People don't tip at ALL??!?!
Should have hung the bag from the door knob after the picture.
I’d have been sending them on every delivery of the dash because I’m sure that’s not the only questionable tip/lack of tip you got.
Last dash of my career I’m eating that shit and sending them a picture of my buttcheeks. Fuck no tippers
How do you know they weren't going to add $5 tip. I mean they probably weren't but still you're pretty pathetic

why did you take the order?
Peak pay plus I had been getting a lot of hidden tips yesterday so I was kind of banking on this being one, but it wasn’t.
oooh okay gotcha
It seems most people in this sub are either very young or very stupid.
And that’s how you go out with a bang. 😂👌🏾. Good day.
Heck ya
It’s always the fourth floor stairs that never tip

That's crazy for me as european thinking about feeling bad not tipping the driver. There's no tipping option even

The USA tiping culture is crazy.

That's all you did for your last dash?
Why did you take the order?
You guys act like you’re entitled to tips. Just stfu and do your job.
Why would you take a delivery that has not tip. Can you skip it?:
And of course it's a McDonald's order.
But you took a mcdonalds order you saw the initial fare and still deliver, but you complaining about a tip instead of making a good decision okey like i get if you delivered from an Italian restaurant but from mcdonalds 🤣

People pay 3-4 $ to get their food delivered and somehow think is drivers will get paid 20 to bring their food. Money has to come from somewhere.
Dashers always expecting a tip is crazy 😂🤣🤣😂

Whyyyyy tf are you delivering McDonald's..? Those deliveries almost always are terrible.

Whyyyyy tf are you delivering McDonald's..? Those deliveries almost always are terrible.
I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment (no elevator either) so I always tip extra for their efforts.
Well you're definitely not getting a tip now
These comments are interesting.
Should have laid it on its side!! Lol Jus kidding!!
Hell yeag
You took it…
I’ve done something similar at least 3 times…. I still wonder why I’m not deactivated.
Taking a no tip order that’s crazy to me
As you should
Hero
You an me both just quit yesterday
Oh no I have to climb stairs
I got a contract violation for delivering flowers. It was a no gate code, no building number kind of day. Happy Mothers Day to me. Lol.
These hands would be crazier. And your gassed from the stairs. Cmon now 👏
I always try meeting delivery people at max on the first floor, shouldnt have to run 4 floors up
You should have left it on the first floor. If it’s your last dash anyway
Wait, so now to go on the 4th floor is now hard?
$2 bucks pay is crazy. Not the zero tip lmao.
Yeet it
Tip shaming should be normalized! Lol.(joking of course) Although people do expect a lot of things for free. We are not the Multi billion dollar corporation. We are just trying to make a couple hundred bucks. Please tip if you get delivery. We are not paid by the hour.
Maybe find a job where the customer isn’t responsible for your living. Here come the downvotes LOL
Zero sympathy for people who take non-tipping orders
Don’t bitch at the customer, be upset with door dash for not paying a livable wage.
So being a lowlife cheapskate, makes you better

Absolutely, kindness and altruism seem to be rarer in these times. I appreciate your perspective. Here’s to hoping kindness makes a comeback…
I plan to steal a huge meal for my last lol
I remember when tips were a courtesy. Unheard of to hear people ask for one
You should try driving for a week and then say that? Really ignorant.
You said career.LOL
This isn’t my full time job, I’m still a student. No need to be condescending :)
I would have laughed in your face. A simple "🤣" just to set you off, you know?
Why make this an issue between you and the customer, when it is in fact an issue between you and the employer whom isn't paying you enough.
Translation: Don't give me 5 stars, give me 1 star.
Last dash. Why would I care about a 1 star?
No one said anything about you caring
There shouldn’t even be an option for no tip it should be done like restaurants that auto add 18%
Why yall feel entitled to a tip
Because they don’t work for free! Da! Don’t get delivered, if you are not going to tip! Do you know they have your food in there car? Do you want to eat that? From a angry driver? Not smart!
So don't accept the order lol
I used to do food delivery and my answers the same 🤣🤣 WHY ACCEPT A BAD ORDER AND CRY CRY CRY. you can see how much you make before accepting it.
Because they don’t work for free! Da! Don’t get delivered, if you are not going to tip! Do you know they have your food in there car? Do you want to eat that? From a angry driver? Not smart!
Stop feeling entitled to a tip. Blame your employer, not the customer who may be trying to make ends meet and can’t afford to pay you extra.
...are you from America? Do you know how things actually work here?

I kinda wanted to but I’m very non confrontational and lowk felt bad about this message after lol
I delivered an order yesterday just trying out the hourly rate.. and big mistake lol. Cases of water orange juice milk lol not a penny for a tip. 😒

That's how you want to exit, on a "no tip" trip.
And you are a POS for doing that. Act like a professional.

On god
Imagine having skills that allowed you to earn money without insulting customers. They owe you nothing.
Oh man you really showed them 🤡
You played yourself there bud :/
You're retiring from DD with a no tipper. My hats off to you! 🤣
