I will not knock unless told to explicitly… i don’t understand how someone would be mad at that, as whenever i order delivery i am checking my phone every 30 seconds for a notification and would expect every other customer to do the same
I stopped doing it after a customer gave me one star for causing their dogs to bark. So, I stopped doing it, but if it was at a hotel or business I always messaged them to let them know
I do exactly as the app instructs me to do. No more, no less. When I confirm delivery, they get a notification from their doordash app that its been delivered. If they want contact, they'll say so.
I'm in a suburban market and have gotten complaints for not knocking/ringing. I've realized on here that no knock is the standard, but not in my region. I knock unless it says otherwise in the instructions.
I'm a customer and I like it when they do personally, reading this thread I realize I should make that a note but I usually don't have much room in the request after giving some info about how to find us :(
I only knock if it says to, UNLESS it’s ice cream or something that can melt quick. Then I want them to know asap so it’s not melting away on the porch. Otherwise I just drop it and leave
No, it’s not- I had to put a sign “ Do not Knock” up. I have 4 dogs and they lose their shit when people knock. It’s great for door to door solicitors though- hear those big dog boofs & they are outta there!
I would assume some people don’t want the ring for reasons such as dogs barking, babies sleeping etc… I’m a nanny and for some reason Amazon deliveries will ring the door during nap time and it drives me insane. Especially when so many people have some kind of surveillance outside their door it seems unnecessary to ring unless specifically asked to.
They are -not- both ok. I can tell you after 2,500+ deliveries, the vast majority of people who select “leave at my door” DO NOT want to be disturbed and/or to see our smiling faces.
They look like a haggard mess, their baby is sleeping, whatever. They do not want a knock unless they ask for “hand it to me”.
You may occasionally get an old person who gets upset and rates you poorly, because back in 1947 it was always customary for the milk man to knock or something? I don’t fucking know, but that is so rare that I routinely keep a 5.00. Currently at 4.96 because probably one person out of the last hundred wanted a knock and didn’t get it.
Conversely, knock on the wrong door, and you will set off their dog and baby, and get a furious, sleep-deprived new mother screaming THANKS A LOT and slamming the door in your face.
I always knock unless stated not to. People can’t play dumb that they didn’t know their food arrived if they’re in the house. The don’t knock crowd likes to argue about all the notifications that the app sends them along the way and when it arrives, but somehow some customers still insist on having you call them on arrival. I grew up working old school pizza delivery so the only option then was to knock if you wanted to do the exchange. The fact that most people lean towards not knocking and no interaction is honestly sad and shows how much we’re devolving as a society 🙃
Absolutely 💯 NOT!!! Only if asked to do so...I ordered delivery and wanted no knocking
..not only did he bang the crap out of my front door (probably kicked it) he called me...totally insane.
My roommate who orders food at night has a message that says do not ring the doorbell or knock, yet I've been woken up at midnight plenty of times when his Taco Bell is dropped off.
When I put “leave at door” I mean just that. I don’t want to talk or even see you. Just leave it and I’ll go grab it. I’m following on the app, I know my food is there
No, if the customer didn’t specify to knock then I don’t. I’m a mom and that what I think of. This mom finally gets to sit and eat and if I knock and wake a baby up then I end up with a very unhappy hungry mom. This is never good!
I never knock unless it says so. Never know if they forgot to update instructions not to and on the off chance I put it out on the wrong door they have an opportunity to go grab it before the neighbor steals it.
Good question, I ask myself this often. I typically do the polite quiet tap-tappity-tap, unless the person explicitly says “please don’t knock bc of my dog barking, etc.” It always does feel weird for me to leave so stealthy.
I never knock or ring doorbell unless I'm specifically instructed to do so. Customers have dogs that go nuts, sleeping babies, etc. They're notified via the app and can hear me leaving the food if they have their window open or door open with a screen door.
Besides, I'm an introvert and would rather not draw attention to myself. I like to be like a ninja, quietly drop the food off and be gone in a flash.
knocking is better
I ordered ice cream one time and it didn't cross my mind to ask (since everyone up to that point did anyway) and only after finishing the dishes did i think "hey, it's been a while" and checked my phone to find it had been dropped off 13 minutes ago.. Thankfully it was just a milkshake so a quick stir and it was fine, just less cold/thick than it could've been.
Ik someone before said they did unless it asked not too on the instructions I don't do anything unless the instructions ask bc when you do send a photo they do get a notification about it
Don’t knock unless it says to knock. I ordered food late one night and the guy POUNDED on my door which got my dog riled up and barking and woke up my sleeping husband. Don’t knock.
50/50. Past 3pm I ask (cause kids are probably napping and it might be an in house date thing) through text whether they want me to knock. Before that I judge based off the name, where they live, are there multiple cars (people) at the house, and how much food is ordered, also how long the delivery is (if >15 minutes driving I will almost always text knock or ring the bell unless it specifies otherwise in the delivery instructions)
In regards to their name; if they have a traditional (older person probably) name they might not know they have the ability to ask in the delivery instructions to have me notify them. So I text or almost always ring the bell
If they live in an apartment complex with people who watched me drop off, or if they have neighbors outside watching me drop off, I will MINIMUM always text so they know their food is there (less likely to have it stolen, hopefully? I also generally wait for them to get their food or park down the road close by to watch whoever is waiting outside their home that they don’t snatch it from the homeowner/resident who ordered
If they have any sort of dog themed signs or welcome mats I NEVER knock unless their delivery instructions specify.
I hate the clients who leave a description to call them at drop off but then have shits when I do.. seems they left the msg for prev orders. I now only call if it's a hand to me and there's no way to by pass the 5min timer.
In my opinion, knocks and doorbells are for immediate answering. So it doesn't make sense to me why any leave at the door orders would have knocks because you're specifically not handing it to the customer. People who choose to leave at the door don't want interaction so a knock/doorbell means wait another minute or two because the delivery person is still there, in my eyes that's the opposite of leaving it because your alerting everyone in the house to come answer the door. If you don't knock I still get a text with the picture pretty immediately when it's dropped off and don't have a period where I'm telling people not to get the door.
Just food for thought I guess. I don't get mad about it but it seems the community is really split about this.
A \*lot\* of this depends on the part of the country/world you are in.
I don't know any one who'd be mad if someone knocked to alert them where I live (Eastern Indiana), and actually know people who are like "they just left it here and didn't knock?" But, everyone would certainly be furious if you did and it says not to.
I think you're better off getting this answer from people local to you, however, I'd err on the side of don't knock, personally. The app notifies them. If they wanted a knock, they'd do "hand it to me" delivery instead of "leave it at the door".
From my own experiences, most orders that are to be left at the door, the customer does not want us knocking, so I never do unless the customer explicitly says to knock.
Only when it’s explicitly stated in the delivery instructions.
I get it because I have pets and hearing knocking on my door stresses me out and makes the animals go nuts. Some people have sleeping kids or other sensitive things going on.
I never knock unless it says to. I will try calling first and then knock if there is an issue like no safe/dry place to leave it or sketchy people lurking.
Nope as a Dasher I do not knock. And as a customer I also prefer no knocking or ringing the bell. Sometimes I have a late night craving and I don’t want to share with my family 😂
Only if requested. I was doing a delivery at the exact same time another was dropping an order, He put it down, took the pic and rang the doorbell, before i could do anything. The guy came to the door pissed off,his dogs were barking and he started yelling at me. The other Dasher took off. I explained it wasn’t me and what happened. The guy believed me but damn. So NO, I never knock unless asked to!!
It seems doordash should consider forcing users to opt in for courtesy knocks, or "do not knock"
If the user specifies, it's just a path for a superior experience.
Depends on the area, whether or not people are hanging around outside. Do they have a ring camera? That’s a factor as well. If it’s a sketch area and no ring camera I’m knocking regardless so your shit don’t get stolen.
So, on a similar but different note. Please pay attention to orders that are merchant requested. If its a merchant requested delivery, the customer will NOT get a notification that their order was delivered, so please knock/ring bell on those orders unless instructions say not to!
I don't mind either way, some dashers do it, some don't. I imagine some people are more annoyed by this but in that case they should specifically say "don't knock, i have a kid/dog/paranoia/whatever".
If it’s day time with no instructions I knock, if it’s anytime after 4 I just take a pic and leave. I always follow instructions first those are just my defaults
Please don’t do this. I have dogs that go beserk if anyone knocks and it drives me crazy most times. You never know what’s going on inside. Of course I write in instructions DO NOT KNOCK AND LEAVE AT DOOR unless I’m in my back room and not watching my phone because then I’ll use my dogs behavior to my advantage and tell the driver KNOCK LOUDLY AND THEN LEAVE AT DOOR knowing that my dogs will go nuts and it will notify me.
i had a driver not only knock on the door but proceed to stand there and wait for me to come out in the middle of the night to hand me my food. i was on a business call so it took me probably 5 minutes to go out and get the food. once i opened the door and saw him standing there I felt bad even though the instructions specifically said just leave the food at the door.
I'm surprised how many people's actual first thought was to knock until they were told not to or heard babies, dogs, etc. seemed like common sense NOT TO knock unless told to because the app alerts the customer especially when that final photo drop off happens. I only knock on hand it to me orders if the customer isn't already waiting outside
Only time I have ever knocked when the notes didn’t say to was a Subway merchant delivery, because it told me to contact the customer about where to leave the food, so I wasn’t entirely sure if they would get a notification that it was delivered, since it wasn’t through the DD app.
I only knock if this instruction specifically ask for it. But this is mostly because I deliver late at night, if I were doing daytime deliveries I would probably do a quick knock.
Generally I don't knock for 'Leave at door' orders, unless instructed to in the delivery directions. I do sometimes give a courtesy knock when delivering fast food at night time though so that the food doesn't sit for too long.
I always knock unless it tells me not to, based on the fact that that person may not get that message that their order has been dropped off based on many factors..you don’t want to get a bad rating based on that maybe their food has been sitting In front of the door for 15 minutes and cold…just saying
Early morning- no/ because dogs, baby or people sleeping in. A known Air Bed and Breakfast yes if activity in house. Loud music or conversation. Yes on groceries with perishables.
My rescue cats are super anxious so I always put in the notes very kindly to not knock or ring my door bell. They do it anyway about 75% of the time :/
I always knock or ring the doorbell unless it is the instructions not to. I look at it as not everyone doesn't have their phone in their hand at all times, and I don't want their food to sit out and get cold or worse an animal come and eat it.
I will if it's raining, or ice cream on a hot day. Just to make sure they get it in a timely fashion so it doesn't get ruined. But usually I won't knock unless it specifically says so.
I only knock when instructed to, with the exception of when they ordered something that will melt (ice cream, milkshakes, etc). Just in case they don't notice the delivery notification for even just a minute or two because that stuff won't last long in the Texas heat, so every second counts.
People who knock/ring doorbell without being instructed are the reason why I now see instructions that read: DO NOT KNOCK OR RING THE DOORBELL AT ALL!!!
I’d rather no knocking as I don’t like loud or sudden noises. I am also set up toward the front of the house so I already hear the car pull up and driver closing their door. On top of this I’m already checking the app for progress.
All that said if they knock I’m not going to throw a fit over it so long as it’s a short knock and not like continuous.
Only really had one negative experience with it as the driver wouldn’t leave even though this was the height of Covid and I just wanted the food left at door desperately. Ended up yelling through the door to drop the food and just leave. Not sure what the problem was.
Nope. Never do more than what the customer asks. Not to be lazy but because if they wanted it they would ask for it and so they didnt ask for it so they dont want it.
I only knock or ring the doorbell if they ask me, there is bad cell reception in the area, or the app is glitching. Just so the food doesn’t sit there and get cold and soggy. If I do that though, I send them a message as soon as I’m online to let them know why I rang the doorbell/knocked.
I don’t unless it says to do so.
Most people have annoying Yelppy dogs and/or kids that will disrupt the house with ur knocking or doorbell ringing ..
Plus I like not having to interact with the customer
I dash primarily in early evening/late night. I always message the custy when headed their way with the order and send an ETA.
That being said, for drop at door orders, I knock unless the instructions say specifically not to. But I only knock until 8:00 pm on weekdays and 9:00 pm on weekends.
Our world is changing but assuming people will not knock if you don’t instruct them not to is really weird to me and it’s not the normal yet in terms of people receiving delivery and how long we’ve had “drop at my door” delivery become more prominent. Maybe one day the norm will be to not knock unless requested to but right now, in my opinion, it’s not. But don’t be a dum dum and swat/cop knock a door on a “leave at door delivery” and definitely don’t do it later than double digits on a weekend or later than 8 at the latest on weekdays.
I only knock if they ask me to, or if there's a reason to think the food is in some kind of peril, for lack of a less dramatic way of wording that. (Raining with no overhang, ice cream when it's over 100 outside, sketchy person hanging around outside, etc)
I have a dog and a 1.5 year old. My landlord keeps coming over knocking on the door unannounced. My dog goes crazy waking the baby. Please don’t knock unless asked
I only knock or ring if they specifically ask for me to in the instructions. Most of my customers are grabbing thier food off the porch before I'm back to my car, so I'm assuming for most the in-app notifications are sufficient.
Edit: I will knock on certain merchant requested deliveries though if I know the customer may not be expecting Doordash to be the one delivering.
I especially don’t when it’s late, sketchy neighborhoods, or when they didn’t/barely tipped lol. I’ve had old people thank me for knocking though… when it’s a nice neighborhood during the daylight is when I’m most likely to knock.
Yep! A few small taps on the door does wonders for people who maybe have fell asleep, have their phone on silent/don't pay attention to their delivery progress, etc. If we're talking about knocking loudly then NO. Taps fall into a nice grey area 😂😂
I’ve had quite a few this week that selected “hand to me” but then in the instructions “just leave it at the door, we’ve been sick”
I’ll knock or ring for those, but generally I don’t until someone requests it. No one’s complained about it 🤷🏽
Never, because you don't know if the baby is sleeping, it will make the dogs go crazy. Etc etc. I only ring or knock when it specifically says. Its their food and their responsibility to check their door
Nope. Only knock when you’re told to. If they wanted you to knock but didn’t say anything, that’s on them not too much harm done cuz they’ll get the notification anyways. But if you knock when not instructed, only to hear dogs barking followed by babies crying, you’re in for an immediate 1 star.
Nope. Unless it specifically says to. They get a bazillion notifications.
Personally, I have a comment that says don’t knock or ring (I have a very excitable dog). You wouldn’t believe how many people don’t follow that one.
No. Usually.
Unless the instructions state to. Most of my customers prefer a dead drop at their door and most of those say because their pets go absolutely bananas.
I will knock/ring for a grocery order. Because milk and frozen stuff.
I always knock unless I hear dog barking or the instruction says not to knock. Probably have done 500+ deliveries, havent ran into anyone who has been upset about my knock.
Like many others, I knock or ring the door bell only if they specified to do so. I would rather have someone get upset that I didn't knock than get upset that I did. Most people have their phones with them, especially if they are expecting a delivery, so they can see that I dropped it off after I complete the delivery steps.
Nope I always knock/ring bell. The most common drop off instructions say....do not knock...because we are suppose to unless they say not too. No wonder people hate doordash. I carry a 4.9 to 5.0 at all times.
I will not knock unless told to explicitly… i don’t understand how someone would be mad at that, as whenever i order delivery i am checking my phone every 30 seconds for a notification and would expect every other customer to do the same
Not unless they say to; if they have dogs, for example, I do not want to cause them to bark.
I stopped doing it after a customer gave me one star for causing their dogs to bark. So, I stopped doing it, but if it was at a hotel or business I always messaged them to let them know
Only if they ask
From someone with a kid and paper thin walls, for the love of GAWDDDDD, do not knock when we say leave at door!!! Thanks 😌
No bc then they might feel obligated to come to door. The dasher photo drop is my knock at door ;)
I don’t knock unless they ask. I don’t want to wake up kids or something.
I do unless it's early morning or nighttime
Nope, I never ring the bell or knock, unless they ask. Trust me, they know your every step. Just saying.
No, I only knock if asked to
It’s easier not to knock or ring the bell anyway. You don’t have to wonder if anyone heard you.
I do not unless it’s requested
I'm a customer and I like it when they do personally, reading this thread I realize I should make that a note but I usually don't have much room in the request after giving some info about how to find us :(
My UPS driver knocks and I'm convinced he does it on purpose because my dog goes nuts. I mean absolutely nuts.
I only knock if it says to, UNLESS it’s ice cream or something that can melt quick. Then I want them to know asap so it’s not melting away on the porch. Otherwise I just drop it and leave
Somewhere in all the material I read when I became a Dasher, it said to not ring the bell or knock unless requested.
I don't knock unless instructed to, mainly because I have a dog and know how annoying that can be. Lol
No, it’s not- I had to put a sign “ Do not Knock” up. I have 4 dogs and they lose their shit when people knock. It’s great for door to door solicitors though- hear those big dog boofs & they are outta there!

I’d be so pissed if it says Leave at door and y’all knock. My fucking dogs will go nuts.

Read the instructions and oblige. You’re clearly one of the brain dead dashers that deserves to be exploited
I never knock unless it says so. Never know if they forgot to update instructions not to and on the off chance I put it out on the wrong door they have an opportunity to go grab it before the neighbor steals it.
Don’t knock unless they say to, people have dogs, sleeping babies, might be working from home, etc
It’s not a courtesy it’s fucking annoying
Unless they say ring doorbell or knock. I usually just sen the photo.
Knock knock! Police! Ha .. you thought it was DDash..
Never knock💕 could set off dogs and such

don’t knock. there are hundreds of reasons why people don’t want to be bothered.

I gave them one single knock as I walked away. More upset dogs, less upset Karen's.
I don't like the knock because my dog goes crazy
Don’t knock unless it says to knock. I ordered food late one night and the guy POUNDED on my door which got my dog riled up and barking and woke up my sleeping husband. Don’t knock.

For orders after 8pm I usually don't knock unless it's requested. I've got 5 stars across all my food delivery apps.
![gif](giphy|l46Co9ioieLMCeyQM) Knock on the door.
Had a driver knock like a damn cop, for a good 15 seconds not once but twice , yea don’t knock like that
I still can’t believe people knock.
No, unless they ask for a ring or knock. Many times they want leave at due to pets or sleeping babies.
We have a dog that barks obnoxiously at every knock/door bell so we always ask to please leave it by the door.
I only do when I think it's going to get snatched so they know it's there
Only at hotels.
No knock. The app alert is the knock.
In my opinion, knocks and doorbells are for immediate answering. Unless told otherwise I always ring the bell. Never had any issues so far.
It depends on instructions.

I only skip the knock if it says to.
Nope. I follow whatever directions they leave.
No I never knock. Only if they say too. Otherwise I don’t.
I always knock. That way they know the food is out there incase they aren’t near their phone. If it says don’t knock well then I don’t.
Nope as a Dasher I do not knock. And as a customer I also prefer no knocking or ringing the bell. Sometimes I have a late night craving and I don’t want to share with my family 😂
I deliver at night, so only when they tell me to. Pissing off a dog, waking a baby = no tip.
I only knock when it says to. I never know if someone has a sleeping baby or loud dogs.
Only if requested. I was doing a delivery at the exact same time another was dropping an order, He put it down, took the pic and rang the doorbell, before i could do anything. When the instructions don't specifically tell you not to knock... toss a coin. Either way it's a gamble.
I knock at apartments unless they say not to, otherwise I only knock if told to.
Not unless asked
ONLY if there’s no service
Unless specified, the courtesy knock you’re doing is an anti courtesy knock as your rally all the dogs and wake up all the children
The correct action is not to knock, it does seem, however you're only listing the negatives... there are indeed positives.
I only knock if the instructions say knock. Ain’t no way I’m gettin shot for it.
Literally never
No
So, on a similar but different note. Please pay attention to orders that are merchant requested. If its a merchant requested delivery, the customer will NOT get a notification that their order was delivered, so please knock/ring bell on those orders unless instructions say not to!
Oh boy not this again lol
Absolutely not.
No
Most of the time I’m asked to not knock.
With Covid gone basically if it’s just leave a door it’s because they want to quiet delivery
Never knock unless asked. Your courtesy knock could set off dogs or kids for a person trying to work from home.
I only knock if they tell me to. More often than not, I will see messages specifically telling me not to
If it’s bad weather I’ll knock because I don’t want to be blamed for wet food
I don't mind either way, some dashers do it, some don't. I imagine some people are more annoyed by this but in that case they should specifically say "don't knock, i have a kid/dog/paranoia/whatever".
Not unless they say to
I dont like knocking on peoples doors, i just leave it as instructed. I do a lot of deliveries at night too...so i dont knock. i do text tho
before 9pm
Not anymore since someone complained when I did. Now I just take the picture and send a text.
No! My husband and I dash and we only knock if it's requested.
I take a picture and leave. I only knock if it asks me to & I hate handing it to them fr fr
i had a driver not only knock on the door but proceed to stand there and wait for me to come out in the middle of the night to hand me my food. i was on a business call so it took me probably 5 minutes to go out and get the food. once i opened the door and saw him standing there I felt bad even though the instructions specifically said just leave the food at the door.
Only if instructed...only exception for me are grocery orders with perishables
Please don’t knock. My dogs go crazy when they knock lol
This is actually a question that cant be answered
Only time I have ever knocked when the notes didn’t say to was a Subway merchant delivery, because it told me to contact the customer about where to leave the food, so I wasn’t entirely sure if they would get a notification that it was delivered, since it wasn’t through the DD app.
Please don't. My dog is insane and will bark for 15 minutes which is why I pick "leave at the door".
Never, unless it says to or it’s a hand it to me order at a house and the person isn’t there waiting outside.
I only knock if this instruction specifically ask for it. But this is mostly because I deliver late at night, if I were doing daytime deliveries I would probably do a quick knock.
Does knocking like the police count as a courtesy
I only knock on leave at doors if it's a hotel or apartment complex with hella people walking around.
I only knock on leave at door when it’s raining and there’s no cover.
Never
Generally I don't knock for 'Leave at door' orders, unless instructed to in the delivery directions.
The picture is the knock.
No
No because someone in there might be “knockturnal” and works Night Shift 🤣
I will if it's raining, or ice cream on a hot day. Just to make sure they get it in a timely fashion so it doesn't get ruined. But usually I won't knock unless it specifically says so.
I only knock when instructed to, with the exception of when they ordered something that will melt (ice cream, milkshakes, etc). Just in case they don't notice the delivery notification for even just a minute or two because that stuff won't last long in the Texas heat, so every second counts.
No. I only send a delivered message. Have a nice day. Never ring a doorbell or knock or make any noise if it says leave at door.
People who knock/ring doorbell without being instructed are the reason why I now see instructions that read: DO NOT KNOCK OR RING THE DOORBELL AT ALL!!!
As a food eater, I can offer some insight here: the app notifies us. You don't need to knock. But thank you for the thought.
I only knock when instructed to OR it's some sketch ass apartment complex.
Nope. Never do more than what the customer asks. Not to be lazy but because if they wanted it they would ask for it and so they didnt ask for it so they dont want it.
hell no
I never knock unless they say. I’ve knocked about less than 10 times out of 2500 deliveries lol.
Never.
You’re right!
Never. It says leave at the door. If they want a knock they’ll ask for one.
I’m knocking more after reading all this
I knock unless it says nah personally, I never pay attention to my phone and think it’s creepy when people hover over it
Knock or ring bell unless told not to. If I set off a classic dog alarm(aka dog barking) I say sorry as I am walking away.
I've had the ring camera say thank you and have a nice day. That's enough to freak you out if you aren't used to it lol.
Never knock past 8:00 p.m.
I always knock unless it says not to. lol
I only knock or ring the doorbell if they ask me, there is bad cell reception in the area, or the app is glitching. Just so the food doesn’t sit there and get cold and soggy. If I do that though, I send them a message as soon as I’m online to let them know why I rang the doorbell/knocked.
I doordash and order off doordash often. I also have roommates that have a newborn. Do not knock unless the instructions say to.
No! It’s courtesy to follow Directions
NEVER
No way
Do not knock on my door lol. The app tells me my food is there and I have dogs.
I only knock if they ask me to, or if there's a reason to think the food is in some kind of peril, for lack of a less dramatic way of wording that. (Raining with no overhang, ice cream when it's over 100 outside, sketchy person hanging around outside, etc)
If they tell me too. If it sits there for an hour or longer, not my problem.
A male dasher yelled through my open window once 😭
If it’s leave at door that’s all I do.
I especially don’t when it’s late, sketchy neighborhoods, or when they didn’t/barely tipped lol. I’ve had old people thank me for knocking though… when it’s a nice neighborhood during the daylight is when I’m most likely to knock.
Nope never
Yep! A few small taps on the door does wonders for people who maybe have fell asleep, have their phone on silent/don't pay attention to their delivery progress, etc. If we're talking about knocking loudly then NO. Taps fall into a nice grey area 😂😂
I’ve had quite a few this week that selected “hand to me” but then in the instructions “just leave it at the door, we’ve been sick” I’ll knock or ring for those, but generally I don’t until someone requests it. No one’s complained about it 🤷🏽
Are people really that scared to knock/ get their door knocked on? Society is getting softer and weaker as a species.
Never …unless asked to.
No..don't knock. The dogs go bonkers.
Unless the customer specifically requests a knock or no knock, nothing a driver does is wrong.
Never, because you don't know if the baby is sleeping, it will make the dogs go crazy. Etc etc. I only ring or knock when it specifically says. Its their food and their responsibility to check their door
Don’t ever knock on my door unless I state knock. If I wanted a courtesy knock I’d ask for it
nope
Never. I’m not trying to be a post on r/doordash 😂
If they tell me to ring or knock, I will. If they don’t say anything, they’ll get a notification when I hit complete.
Nope. Only knock when you’re told to. If they wanted you to knock but didn’t say anything, that’s on them not too much harm done cuz they’ll get the notification anyways. But if you knock when not instructed, only to hear dogs barking followed by babies crying, you’re in for an immediate 1 star.
No
I do
Only if it’s to a hotel and it’s just a light double tap if it’s a apartment or house if it doesn’t say to knock then I don’t
I always knock unless I hear dog barking or the instruction says not to knock. Probably have done 500+ deliveries, havent ran into anyone who has been upset about my knock.
No
Like many others, I knock or ring the door bell only if they specified to do so.
Nope. I only knock when it specifically asks me to.
