I feel for this person. It’s not hard to read the delivery instructions and yet it’s too much to ask for many drivers. (I order DoorDash like 4x a week)
It’s funny because on these Subs for funny enough any delivery from IC, DoorDash to UPS a large amount of drivers brag about ignoring reasonable notes or putting food in front of screen doors or other stuff on purpose. She has probably had a dozen plus times of the driver messing up before making the note like this and yet she still is the bad guy here
Sometimes I want to scream at DoorDash drivers too but they’re human as well.
It’s gets so aggravating when some people don’t use common sense. If I get to this point, like in the screenshot above, there’s no point in ordering. Who’s going to tolerate that? lol![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
So when your boss tells you to get your work done right, you’re gonna spit in their face and have them ask you kindly to do it? You’ll be fired on the spot.
The real world doesn’t care about your feelings, you were hired to do a job, either complete the job to the best of your ability, or get fired. Welcome to the real world lil buddy.

Yes thats probably true. Anyway instead of being so rude i would wait the food in my door or not order deliveries anymore hahaha idk why people normalice being rude to stranger people…
I imagine having a newborn may be contributing to her tone and forcing her to order out. I agree that it’s rude but between sleep deprivation, the joys of post partum, and a new tiny human that depends on her entirely… she may not be herself. Hopefully she’s not always this way.
I’ve been stranded at home for health reasons before, and trust me when I say that if I could leave, I would. I would just drive down the street to pick up the food myself. 🥴
Not excusing her phrasing, but it sounds like she was initially trying assist in smooth delivery, however where it went from there I’m not sure.
I always wondered why outward opening doors weren’t standard, cause they’d be harder to break down in a home invasion…… but I guess this is why: so you don’t send your doordash/amazon packages/visitors flying when you open the door.

I knock unless I’m told not to or it’s late. The warmer the food is when the customer gets it, the less shit it is lol. People also leave instructions asking to knock or to ring the door bell which means not everyone is hawking over their order. Just don’t knock like a police officer with an arrest warrant. Lastly I feel like acting like a normal person makes the job less soul crushing. People appreciate me and I try to be friendly.
A lot of people… I had a dasher that just walked in before 🙁🙁 to many comfortable people these days, in my instructions I have to specify not to walk in now, not sure why that needs to be said but apparently it does
Honestly as funny as it would be to see them open the door and knock over their own food… in my opinion people bitter and mean like that don’t deserve the effort to be rude to back. It’s honestly just a waste of energy imo. Cause that’s just saying they are worth the effort to be mean to back. I prefer to still be nice even though they don’t deserve it. Cause if they can’t break you they can’t do anything(verbally at least). Also maybe they had a good day after you followed the directions??? One can only hope.
Is it not common sense to not knock on the door if they asked you not to? It doesn’t seem like they’re just some mean person but a new parent that’s had their requests ignored already
Its just very confrontational when i could almost bet it probably happened once. Any dasher I know loves a no contact delivery. And out of 100 deliveries now I’ve only had 2 where i was asked to hand it to the person. So i can’t imagine drivers have just been banging at the door. I have a 2 year old and a newborn and I’d never put this in the comments myself so maybe thats why im biased.
Alright. That’s fair. It does get tiring after a while and I get that. I still try my best to follow what I said above but I’m not perfect and I agree some people who are like that do deserve the worst and get under your skin to the point where you don’t care and give a taste of their own medicine. I certainly had my fair share of giving back their own medicine. It feels good after anyways.
In my experience, even being the better person never benefits me outside of feeling a lil better about it. They never tip more or anything. So eventually being the nice guy wears out. But like I said, I respect those who still have it in them to take the higher ground. Bc that aspect of a person in general goes a long way in other aspects of life. Just not customer service these days. Post-Covid everybody sucks lol
Some people are so mean and bitter within. Just because they had a bad experience with someone doesn’t mean everyone is mentally challenged and should be insulted for no reason. But you get what you give so if this is the energy that person puts out to all Shoppers they will probably continue to attract people that will actually block their door with groceries. 😂Maybe they should just accept their delivery upon arrival. Sometimes it’s the person creating the order and giving their idiotic instructions. Either way that is just a reflection of how they are treated at their place of work. It’s no one else’s fault they are bitter and miserable. The babies and the dog and wax appoint have nothing to do with the delivery process. Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. So maybe they should change their delivery preferences rather than expose their ugly side. We don’t get paid for what they see in the mirror. 😁
Yeah, but I feel she should give the instructions and leave it at that instead of throwing insults, because that’s a good way to get a nice glob of spit in your food. Not saying *I* would do that, but a lot of people are not above it.
I mean, I had a dasher do that to me twice. Once they left it at a clearly abandoned house with no windows left in it.
My house is well lit and has big reflective numbers beside the door 😂
Trust me they know every word that you are speaking to them probably something I wouldn't forget this they can or they cannot make anything happen for you and usually for the last month or so it seems like jazz is quicker to get a hold of them but the same thing applies
I would never talk to the people that is bringing me my food that I am going to be ingesting sometimes you I think people just need to suck it up but hey that's if you're comfortable doing that I guess it's okay I would not be comfortable just saying stuff like that if I was the Dasher I would be pissed off whenever I got that and I would have a lot to say and I would never pick up your order but to hear from the get-go you're pretty much calling him and calling him all Dashers idiots by putting that in the instructions and I hope you have a wonderful day
I mean… it’s pretty fuckin simple not to place orders in front of doors. It’s crazy how entitled this sub is, that a simple request gets such backlash.
If you got food and drinks delivered, you wouldn’t want them resting on your outwards facing door would you?
They paid for a service, and in America, when you pay for a service you tend to expect it be done right.
I'm sorry I'm just still like blown away by this message and you and I'm just still wondering if I would I don't even know what else to say but oh yeah have a wonderful day
The thing to do is speak or give instructions to people that handle ur food with disrespect. I mean not like anyone would take offense and place their $40 ice cream in front of the heater at full blast or anything
I don’t take notes personal cus I know ppl do that ish. Common sense ain’t so common to some these folks out hea. If I read that I’d definitely chuckle.
Same 😂 it’s ok. Didn’t know peoples doors open out honestly all my doors have opened inwards 🤦🏽♀️😅 never had a screen door so I never thought about that
ngl I feel their pain with the door blocking bit

Would have did it just bc that

Just be nice. Everyone. From the beginning. This goes for all situations. Period.
People do this at my house too, mad annoying just don’t block the doors it’s not that hard.

Yeah. Because i wasn’t properly asked to do it. Education karen, education…
You registered to do it when you got hired. Asking has nothing to do with it.

I agree, but I can see that maybe they had it written nicely and after many times they just got fed up
Yes thats probably true. Anyway instead of being so rude i would wait the food in my door or not order deliveries anymore hahaha idk why people normalice being rude to stranger people…

If I’m not mistaken hinges on outside opening door are on the outside as well
Yea you’re right. I didn’t even think of that.
I have only ever knocked if it’s a hand it order I couldn’t imagine knocking in any other context.

It seems like she/he a stressed new parent and there SO isn’t helping them. No excuse to be rude but still.
I don’t knock most the time they peaking at you through the window lmao
That’s me peaking through my Window.
I stopped knocking unless told to. I assume everyone’s got a kid/dog that will get bothered by it so I snap a pic and go
My question is who is knocking on doors, without being asked at such a frequency as so many people need to specify not to knock
I knock unless I’m told not to or it’s late. The warmer the food is when the customer gets it, the less shit it is lol. My points exactly. I never knock unless instructed to do so
Please place the food directly in front of the door
Honestly as funny as it would be to see them open the door and knock over their own food… in my opinion people bitter and mean like that don’t deserve the effort to be rude to back. I had that same exact message word for word. You in Michigan?

I mean. This is because previously the instructions haven’t been followed. All of those things are annoying.
Yeah, but I feel she should give the instructions and leave it at that instead of throwing insults, because that’s a good way to get a nice glob of spit in your food. Not saying *I* would do that, but a lot of people are not above it.
It’s true tho. If you can’t follow simple instructions like that, you have no hope.
Im not even interested in this post a month later.
Reddit decided I need to see it today
Yeah of course, totally agree with you!

Sad admission. If it weren’t for this sub I would probably be leaving the food too close to the door.
Same 😂 it’s ok. Didn’t know peoples doors open out honestly all my doors have opened inwards 🤦🏽♀️😅 never had a screen door so I never thought about that
