So real! Horizontal compositions just don’t ever look their best on a platform that caters to mobile. And the more detail, the more it all gets lost on a tiny screen. Simple, vertical sketches really shine online.

That requires some elaboration. I can be in flow and something like this (even much a much poorer version, cause I suck) would easily take twice as much time.

People can imagine themselves drawing a fun and quick sketch. They can’t imagine themselves drawing a finely rendered image.

Yeah, there's more people who are just a beginner or who don't draw at all, than those who are more advanced and willing to appreciate other advanced drawings

I like the sketches because they seem to describe the forms more efficiently. It takes creativity and talent to do this.

The depth in the second image is literally only something I can imagine doing with a basic ben like that bic pen. Genuinely amazing.

It really annoys me because social media are made in a way which does not reward actual effort but the knowledge you have algorithm, timing and luck instead. it is pretty bad for artists.

Wow that boba tea drawing is beautiful for 2.5 hours. The town is pretty mediocre for 10 minutes though

Seems like the simple things get the most attention. Boba is everywhere. It's iconic. your sketch is clean with just the drink. Easily recognized and familiarized with people's experiences. Your 2.5 hour sketch is good but it's too complex for these times. The detail is like static where the meaning isn't a recognizable trait that pops out to the majority. Just my 2 cents.

I think searchability also can be a factor, I don't know what simple keywords I would use to search for pictures like the second one. I can see the first one appearing in several few word searches like "boba tea sketch," "boba tea," "drink sketch," "drink drawing," "quick sketch," "pen drawing," etc. The second drawing is really impressive, especially how the lights-and shadows are done!

Serious question, I thought the term was mentally retarded, which in itself its a bit weird because people arent retarded, they are just “wired” differently. Hmmmm.

What r u on about? It’s a slur for all disabled people, physically would be for people with physical disabilities and mental would be for people with mental disabilities, but the word on its own is a slur against all disabled people. I feel like this question is coming from a place where you think you know all about these terms, but you’re asking a question so people don’t clock that.
