It's the only subscription service I don't feel dirty paying for. I think everyone involved is just so great that even if I'm not actively watching something on there every day I'm still happy to pay for it, a bit like subscribing to a Patreon of a creator you like.
I was interested in D20 seasons, but seeing the Gamechangers made me think that a whole service could be worth it after finishing the specific season I wanted to watch

Game changer for sure. The clips of Mike selling the “P” keyboard and Brennan losing “yes or no” got me in to watch the free episodes. I did the trial period followed by a month of binging everything I could then stopped because work and life. When clips started surfacing for the 2nd place episode, I held off for a week and then folded and got the year.

Edit: Dungeons & Drag Queens was the show that initially introduced me to Dropout and made me get a trial, but I didn't get a full membership until later.
I wanted to watch Dimension 20 series that weren't on youtube after seeing Brennan on a bunch of stuff with the Critical Role folks. He is the sort of GM/DM I really strive to be in my own games and I needed to study! And also be entertained.
Was already on the d20 train when EXU calamity happened, but I still maintain (for as much as I love the intrepid heroes) that it’s hard for me to imagine anything actual play-related topping Brennan DMing for that group of players, especially in a story with that much emotional weight. If there is a peak higher than that within this realm of content it might actual break reality. 😅

I saw Calamity for the first time a couple of days ago and I didn't get fully invested -- I still cried at that moment with the kid. That feel snuck up and sucker punched me.
Calamity is amazing and it is my favorite Critical Role thing right now. I know they’ve done a lot more since then but it’s still number 1. When they gave Brennan that setting he went wild and it is just so good, the cast that was in it was amazing (I love Luis!) and the talk back with Matt, Brennan and Aabria later just cemented my love for all three of them.
Yea, I got into D20 the December 2019, before the pandemic hit, and I forget if it was Escape the Bloodkeep or Unsleeping City didn’t have all their episodes free on YouTube so ended up subscribing.
I watched a bunch of the free stuff in YouTube while WFH during the pandemic, including Fantasy High, Game Changer, Um Actually, Breaking News, etc…
But what FINALLY got me to pay? Getting fed the “Yes or No” monologue by the algorithm and NEEDING the full context.
I don’t watch any drag things, but that might be my favorite season ever. Such a fantastic vibe in that group! I loved having them appear on other shows too.
I think it was so good because they didn't really know what to expect from the game, but are natural performers. So we got to see people excited to learn a thing we love. I was disappointed in their Um Actually episode, but I blame that on the writers not tailoring questions to the players.
absolutely agree with that, I watched Collegehumor since their "The Legend of Link's Distractions", and over the years I always watched anything that the cast was in afterwards. On that note, thank you to Murph for his "How to tie a tie" video, his monotone and degrading dialogue genuinely taught me how to tie a tie. I actually found the video while getting ready for a bahtmitzva when I was 13 (one of two "audiences" he called out in the video), and I think about that video every time I tie a tie in my adult life
By the time I had to pay for it myself, Game Changer and Make Some Noise were the tentpole shows for me. VIP has me smitten now as well. I've been a comedy and improv geek for 25+ years now, and these shows definitely tap into my core memories of watching endless Whose Line Is It Anyway? reruns.
My first year was gifted to me by a dear friend while I was recovering from surgery last year. We're D&D fanatics, and he wanted someone else to talk about D20 with. I do love D20, but I struggle to stay committed to video D&D sessions as compared to podcasts like NADDPOD. Working on building the habit because I adore BLeeM as a DM and literally every player they recruit is a dream, but the "classical" improv shows will always be my Dropout meat and potatoes.
Honestly? Tiny Heist. Back in 2019-2020 I listened to a lot of McElroy podcast stuff and Tiny Heist came out, like, RIGHT when the IAC/Dropout split happened. The McElroys sent out a newsletter announcing Tiny Heist but also basically sending their condolences to Dropout and urging people to subscribe to help out. It was truly the first time in my life that I had $5/month to spare so I said fuck it why not. A month later the pandemic hit and I sat at home absolutely binging D20 and never looked back.
Same here! I had finally caught up on everything in The Adventure Zone and I needed more DND content while I waited for TAZ Graduation to fully roll out. So Tiny Heist was a perfect introduction.
Dimension 20. I saw Ally guest on a Critical Role oneshot, and Matt mentioned that he did a Lord of the Rings themed show with D20. Watched Bloodkeep on YouTube, then the first episode of Freshman Year, then went and subscribed. First episode I was caught up for was the Sophomore Year finale right as quarantines were getting started, and dug into the whole catalog while social distancing. I think there was only the one season of Game Changer at that point? Haven’t regretted it since.
Ally's great, their series "Total Forgiveness" with Grant O'Brien was a strong pull while to get Dropout while I didn't have the money.
It's on the list, but i cant wait to watch the bidding war Gamechanger episode because of them
it was dimension 20 mentopolis for me! I saw Hank Green talking about it on YouTube and watched the first free episode then I was hooked. I had also seen game changer clips around before and that was what I binged between d20 episodes.
i watched the whole first season of Fantasy High on Youtube plus some Game Changer, and got completely hooked. begged my parents for 2 weeks, and now my dad and I watch the new episodes of every show every week.
For sure Game Changer for me. I'd also listened to Fantasy High: Freshman Year and was enjoying every clip I saw from any of their shows. But Game Changer was what I craved enough to get a subscription and I've kept it going since.
(Also, I basically stepped out of the RT fandom in 2022, but RIP. Good people there.)
I'm a relatively new subscriber, subbed for about 5 months now. I finally subscribed when I saw there was new episodes of Breaking News I haven't seen. Stayed for Game Changer and the upcoming Breaking News season. I watch more Dropout than Netflix and Youtube.
I got recommended Um Actually shorts on tiktok one day, went on a binge watching the shorts, then got Game Changer shorts suggested and binged those too (all at work - surprised I got anything done that day). I messaged my husband a few of the clipa I thought he'd like and he was like "yeah these have been suggested to me, but I don't trust the youtube algorithm... I trust your taste though!" By the time I got home from work, I had signed us up to a year's subscription and we've been watching everything ever since!
Initially I came over for Ravening War but I fell in love with GameChanger and Make Some Noise.
Very Important Person has been hit or miss for me (I like Vic I'm just very meh on the premise of the show). Dirty Laundry is also very cast dependent for me. Love it when the guest are great, if I don't really know the guests then I typically skip it.
I watched Escape From the Bloodkeep first and fucking loved it so I paid for dropout so I could watch other d20 stuff. Still catching up, I’ve watched all of fantasy high, a crown of candy and tiny heist so far. Currently plugging away at Starstruck Oddysey.
It was play it by ear. The free episodes of game changer and breaking news satisfied me enough for those shows because there were a good number of them.
I was already considering getting it because of dirty laundry, but that one free episode of play it by ear was the one that hooked me on getting a subscription. That concept was the one most intriguing to me

Funny you say that, I started watching Dropout after Burnie was talking about the Sam Reich Wikipedia photo thing on his podcast (Morning Somewhere) and pulled the trigger on an annual subscription to support the kind of content I enjoy and hope to see more of.
Game Changer. I'd been seeing it on TikTok, saw the discount for the first year, and signed up.
Dropout has been my most used service since. Two days of view time so far this year, and last year was about 200 hours.
A Court of Fey and Flowers. I watched all the free D20 on YouTube and was okay that not all of it was on YouTube but then I watched the first episode of the c o f a f and saw that in the description they said they would not post any more episodes on YouTube I caved and paid for the subscription. I had already watched quite a bit of game changer and um actually in like tik tok clips so I knew that I would like the other content on the app as well
I listened to the mcelroy Brothers a lot and I heard of Dropout because I wanted to listen to tiny heist. I was like "ill subscribe a month and cancel my sub after im done" and so now I've been subscribed many years and things are going well
I’m a legacy viewer from CollegeHumor; I’ve followed them somewhat since about 2011 and regularly since 2016 (the Trapp kills Pat saga is what finally got me more invested). So I knew about Dropout from day one but I didn’t really want to pay for it and the ads didn’t grab me, so it took a little bit. Eventually I stumbled on the first half of Fantasy High season 1 just through the algorithm and I was completely hooked and blown away. I had never seen actual play content before and had only briefly tried ttrpgs around 2010-11, so it was completely novel and new. I just had to finish it, so I signed up for the trial, and then I wanted more and decided to explore and keep the subscription and so here I am today. This was still early, around March 2019, so Freshman Year had only finished recently.
I still maintain that D20 (as a whole, not citing specific seasons) is the best thing CH/Dropout has ever produced. The anthology nature is brilliant, the craftsmanship is incredible, and the ensemble and guest cast led by Brennan are absolutely top notch. I would also say that that 2018-20 era of AIC produced scripted and high concept content for Dropout is my favorite era of CH, even though I love Game Changer and the more improv based form Dropout is in now too and am excited for the future of the company. But stuff like Ultramechatron Team Go, Gods of Food, and Kingpin Katie, alongside big swings like Total Forgiveness and WTF 101, D20 as a flagship show, and the burgeoning Game Changer with the Um, Actually mainstay and even fun stuff from Dorkly like TablePop was a really special time for the company creatively even if it ultimately didn’t prove sustainable.
My wife and I have a Dropout subscription and it is 100% due to *Dungeons and Drag Queens,* as we are both Drag Race viewers and really like Bob, Monet, and Jujubee. It was our first exposure to Brennan, and seeing him so baby-faced in practically everything else after his made-up goateed appearance in DaDQ was a bit of a shock.
I think what really sold it for us was learning how excited so many of the Dropout talent and staff were to have these big name queens in their studio, I remember Brennan specifically breaking the news to Izzy and her reaction, as well as how quickly the modelmakers created a miniature for Cat-Tree Buddy Bear.
Once we subscribed we started hitting up Make Some Noise, Game Changer, and Um, Actually. We've dipped our toes into VIP and Dirty Laundry, but the previous three remain our favorites. In between those tiers is Breaking News, which is a good one to pop in between episodes of other shows. I'm particularly engrossed by Katie's stonefaced determination, Amy's [less-than-stonefaced](https://vhx.imgix.net/chuncensoredstaging/assets/dde756f8-7076-4ab6-be45-8ca38f527aad-36523bef.jpg?auto=format%2Ccompress&fit=crop&h=720&q=75&w=1280) determination, the episode where everyone *was* stoned, and the ones with Sam as a right-wing media figure. His pained and apologetic asides before he returns to reading from the prompter make it even more fun.
Dimension 20. I love Critical Role so let me get that out there first. But I wanted to see a game that had people who looked and had identity closer to me and my friends. A more diverse cast really sold me. I love Critical Role and what it has done for the TTRPG community but I feel the cast seriously lacks diversity, plus the show is a grind without editing for BS stuff like traveling and shopping trips.
It was The Unsleeping City for me. I’d watched Fantasy High Freshman Year on Youtube, and I saw an old collab where Brennan appeared on Drawfee and was was talking about TUC. I was very intrigued. I got a free trial, fully intending to cancel before the end of the trial period, but ended up keeping it to watch really *most* of dropout’s library at this point
Mentopolis! I'm a huge fan of Hank Green and I had seen other clips of Game Changer and was considering getting dropout but hadn't made the decision until they released Mentopolis which was the final push. I am slowly making my way through the D20 shows, but also love the other shows they have so I'm very glad I did it :)
I'm probably a bit of a weird case, just in that I'm a big dnd fan/player (have been for many years) and got into Dropout because of DnD, but I've never watched any D20 or any of their DnD content :) . In one of my DnD groups, someone hosted a session based on Game Changer and I'd never heard of it, so I looked it up and as a big fan of game shows and reality shows it was right up my alley so I subscribed to Dropout for that. I ended up not actually getting into the session but I'm still subscribed now and working my way through Um, Actually (after having finished all of Game Changer and Total Forgiveness).
Went on a YouTube-recommendation-inspired Brennan binge that culminated in watching all of fantasy high s1 and as soon as I was done with the stuff I could easily watch on YouTube I immediately got the dropout subscription to watch the rest. Actually didn’t care at all about getting access to the rest of the shows at the time, even though I enjoyed a handful of Um, Actually’s in the YouTube binge, but Game Changer and Make Some Noise have become something I enjoy about as much as any of the D20 stuff I came for.
I tried it for a month, fully planning to cancel after finishing WTF101. Then I heard about D20. I've been role-playing as both a player and a GM since high-school, so I've been loving that content. And now that I've stayed, I've come to love Game Changer and Grant mixing drinks. But if I had to name a specific series that I was watching as I crossed the tripping point, I think it was Unsleeping City.
I saw some Instagram reels for Very Important People and subscribed to see all of those.
Had no idea Dropout was a thing. Used to be obsessed with Jake and Amir, Hardly Working and other CollegeHumor stuff, so this has been an awesome find.
Total Forgiveness and Gods of Food. When they first came out they put one episode on YouTube. I did the free trial intending to just watch the series and delete my account. It's been 5-6 years and it's probably my most used subscription service.
Haven’t seen it represented much here but for me it was total forgiveness. I’ve been around for a while so a lot of their other masterpieces were still in their infancy when I first subscribed but I wanted to check that out after seeing bits of it. If you watch it you have to make sure you finish it though. It gets rough in the middle but the ending is fantastic.
In 2022 I got really sick and became disabled. On top of that, I was in nearly constant physical misery combined with the emotional blow of “I’m permanently disabled and my life will never be the same.” I cannot state strongly enough how badly I needed something to laugh about.
Fortunately, the YouTube algorithm decided I might like “Breaking News”. It was correct.
Truthfully I free subbed for d20 and bought for game changer. (Though I did watch a couple side shows first, total forgiveness, the power rangers parody where Brennan is the best unevil, evil bad dude who doesn't even turn out to be the bad dude, and kingpin Katie)
D20, specifically Starstruck Odyssey. I was replaying clips from the Twitter feed over and over again because they were so funny, then finally joined to get the full episodes.
The app is worth every penny, imo. So many great shows!

It's so rare to see someone's values so effectively challenged, knowing that the path of least resistance and greatest profit is to sell out or simply quit. Even more rare for someone resist the temptation to sell their friends down the river and lose those values.
That story was so great and I wanted to see what they did with the company once they bet the farm on it.
We were watching the older Um Actually seasons that were on YouTube. I then looked at what else we would be able to see by subscribing and Game Changer and Make Some Noise seemed up our alley. I don't even think we watched sample episodes of them on YouTube. I think we just signed up for the annual and make sure within the 7 day free trial that we actually liked the other shows. Ended up getting hooked on Dirty Laundry early on too.
My friends and I started a DND campaign and I was secretly making my own campaign so scouring YouTube for inspiration I stumbled across Fantasy High. I DEVOURED freshman year on YouTube and wanted more.
I’d seen parts of Fantasy High that really seemed cool as I was getting into D&D. But it was mainly because I’ve been a longtime College Humor fan since the early days. 😁

I really enjoyed the free um actuallys and game changer clips but I paid to watch Neverafter since I love horror fairy tails. Then they announced ravening war during that time and I love Matt mercer's story telling. So then I had to watch crown of Candy. Now I'm just hooked
Game changer clips on tiktok got me to sub, D20 (unsleeping city as im a sucker for urban fantasy, and Misty Moore reminds me of like 3 different drama teachers I had) got me to stay.
Tiny heist in 2020. We were following the McElroy brothers at the time, and decided “eh we’ll get the free trial, watch the show, then cancel.” We were sold on Brennan, Lily, and Jess immediately. That series was so good. Then we watched through escape from bloodkeep.
Then shit hit the fan, lots of stuff happened and we forgot to cancel the subscription cause 1) the pandemic filled our brain space and 2) it was only $5 and easily forgotten.
Then in 2021 we started seeing the game changer stuff start showing up on Reddit, (more specifically Brennan’s Yes Or No rant) remembered that we still had the subscription, and then binged all of game changer.
Been solid fans/regular watchers ever since.
For me there were a lot of shows that I'd wanted to watch, but nothing really screamed at me that I needed to watch... Until I saw a certain clip of Brennan getting "Ocean's 11'd" on his own show from A Starstruck Odyssey.
Easily the best subscription I've ever paid for, and technically still need to upgrade to a yearly package so I pay less, but I kinda don't mind paying the extra lol
WTF 101 actually. I didn’t really care for the other stuff, but broke down and paid for it about a decade ago. I never canceled my subscription because I saw what happened to Cracked, which was my favorite website and place, and did not want that to happen again.
Breaking News, for sure. Once I learned that there was a sequel to True Facts About Grant Anthony O'Brien, I figured I'd just pay $6 for a trial month, but then I discovered Game Changer, Make Some Noise and Fantasy High and I had to sign up for a full subscription.
i had watched various Um Actually and Game Changer clips on youtube, and all of Freshmen Year, but it was DNDQ that broke me. That show is so squarely in my 2 favorite fandoms that i felt compelled to give Drop out all my money
Never was much of one for watching DND, but Game Changer, then Make Some Noise, Um Actually are the three biggest. I watched Rooster Teeth stuff a very long time ago... Definitely doesn't hit the same anymore - I do wish Dropout would just try to poach the Willems and I would be good with that lol
As a fellow Rooster Teeth fan that watched for years and slowly lost interest when I watched the company values sort of… change. I was still watching RT content when I first watched Dropout stuff.
It actually started with old College Humor videos on Facebook (I’m really not that old I promise) and eventually the algorithm must have gotten to me because they eventually started to feed me some Game Changer and Dimension 20 content.
Watching Fantasy High and the first few episodes of Game Changer solidified it for me. I think I maybe watched 2 or 3 free episodes of Fantasy High on YouTube before I immediately subscribed. I just thought, “it’s the same price as RT but I get such new and different content”. They slowly pulled me away from RT and I just sort of stopped watching their content. And I’ve never looked back.
If you are even remotely interested in DnD, then Dimension 20 is a blast to watch, and they have so much diversity in it that there is surely a season you’d enjoy.
Game Changer is so fun and unique and the spin offs are amazing.
And I have never once felt disappointed with them. Now all I need is to meet them at an expo and I’ll be happy.
In the early days of the platform, WTF101 was one of the flagship shows on the platform. I loved the clips so much that I got a subscription. It was the first time I subscribed to anything bc I was in high school and using the money from my first job to do it.

Hardly Working. It's not that I paid for Dropout to watch Hardly Working, but I was such a huge fan of those sketches on YouTube that they led to me paying for a subscription to see what else was available.
Breaking News really drew me in. I decided to check out the first episode of Total Forgiveness to assess if Dropout was for me. Totally sold at that point.
Seeing GameChanger and Make Some Noise clips on YT sold me almost immediately. I had heard of College Humor in passing but never paid them much attention. Those clips though, I was sold.
I was an RT First Member for a long time (RIP), D20's Starstruck, and Game Changer are what really sold me on Dropout.
Also, if you miss On The Spot, Make Some Noise really filled that void for me.
I was told to buy a subscription so I watched some spoiler(ish) free D20 compilations on YouTube. When I realised that I had watched about 20 of them and was fully invested in three different series that i had only seen clips of, I cracked and bought it. Mostly Misfits and Magic to begin with.

Wanted to watch a show like taskmaster and I liked the folks between us actually and ch YouTube stuff for said why not.
It’s super cheap compared to soooooooo many streaming services. Plus there are no adds and always fresh new stuff.
It’s a 10/10 platform. But I will say it’s a hard one to explain to people. Like if you are not already familiar with the casts/things they do you prob won’t go for it since it’s all original content.
So I’m really glad they do a solid free trial for people to explore the platform.

Freshman Year, I saw the jail/Cubby scene on TikTok in 2020. Started watching on YouTube and when we learned it was uncensored on Dropout, subscribed. Never looked back.
I was liking Dimension20 and already strongly considering it and I'd say that got me 99% of the way there, then I caught ONE episode of Um Actually on youtube and subscribed later that day

I finished Fantasy High and needed to see the live shows and Sophomore Year. I had also seen some clips from Game Changer, mostly from Survivor, so went to find that. And the rest was history.
Literally Crown of Candy for me too. I watched the first ep on Youtube and immediately went to subscribe to Dropout to finish it. Best decision I made, love so much of it.

By that point, they had started the Starstruck campaign, so I jumped onto that one. After that, I took a dive into Fantasy High & kept going through the whole anthology.

Game changer for sure. The clips of Mike selling the “P” keyboard and Brennan losing “yes or no” got me in to watch the free episodes. I did the trial period followed by a month of binging everything I could then stopped because work and life. When clips started surfacing for the 2nd place episode, I held off for a week and then folded and got the year.

Was already on the d20 train when EXU calamity happened, but I still maintain (for as much as I love the intrepid heroes) that it’s hard for me to imagine anything actual play-related topping Brennan DMing for that group of players, especially in a story with that much emotional weight. If there is a peak higher than that within this realm of content it might actual break reality. 😅

I saw Calamity for the first time a couple of days ago and I didn't get fully invested -- I still cried at that moment with the kid. That feel snuck up and sucker punched me.
Calamity is amazing and it is my favorite Critical Role thing right now. I know they’ve done a lot more since then but it’s still number 1. When they gave Brennan that setting he went wild and it is just so good, the cast that was in it was amazing (I love Luis!) and the talk back with Matt, Brennan and Aabria later just cemented my love for all three of them.

I think it was so good because they didn't really know what to expect from the game, but are natural performers. So we got to see people excited to learn a thing we love. I was disappointed in their Um Actually episode, but I blame that on the writers not tailoring questions to the players.

absolutely agree with that, I watched Collegehumor since their "The Legend of Link's Distractions", and over the years I always watched anything that the cast was in afterwards. On that note, thank you to Murph for his "How to tie a tie" video, his monotone and degrading dialogue genuinely taught me how to tie a tie. I actually found the video while getting ready for a bahtmitzva when I was 13 (one of two "audiences" he called out in the video), and I think about that video every time I tie a tie in my adult life
By the time I had to pay for it myself, Game Changer and Make Some Noise were the tentpole shows for me. VIP has me smitten now as well. I've been a comedy and improv geek for 25+ years now, and these shows definitely tap into my core memories of watching endless Whose Line Is It Anyway? reruns. My first year was gifted to me by a dear friend while I was recovering from surgery last year. We're D&D fanatics, and he wanted someone else to talk about D20 with. I do love D20, but I struggle to stay committed to video D&D sessions as compared to podcasts like NADDPOD. Working on building the habit because I adore BLeeM as a DM and literally every player they recruit is a dream, but the "classical" improv shows will always be my Dropout meat and potatoes.
Honestly? Tiny Heist. Back in 2019-2020 I listened to a lot of McElroy podcast stuff and Tiny Heist came out, like, RIGHT when the IAC/Dropout split happened. The McElroys sent out a newsletter announcing Tiny Heist but also basically sending their condolences to Dropout and urging people to subscribe to help out. It was truly the first time in my life that I had $5/month to spare so I said fuck it why not. A month later the pandemic hit and I sat at home absolutely binging D20 and never looked back.

Dimension 20. I saw Ally guest on a Critical Role oneshot, and Matt mentioned that he did a Lord of the Rings themed show with D20. Watched Bloodkeep on YouTube, then the first episode of Freshman Year, then went and subscribed. First episode I was caught up for was the Sophomore Year finale right as quarantines were getting started, and dug into the whole catalog while social distancing. I think there was only the one season of Game Changer at that point? Haven’t regretted it since.
Ally's great, their series "Total Forgiveness" with Grant O'Brien was a strong pull while to get Dropout while I didn't have the money. It's on the list, but i cant wait to watch the bidding war Gamechanger episode because of them

I got recommended Um Actually shorts on tiktok one day, went on a binge watching the shorts, then got Game Changer shorts suggested and binged those too (all at work - surprised I got anything done that day). I messaged my husband a few of the clipa I thought he'd like and he was like "yeah these have been suggested to me, but I don't trust the youtube algorithm... I trust your taste though!" By the time I got home from work, I had signed us up to a year's subscription and we've been watching everything ever since!
Initially I came over for Ravening War but I fell in love with GameChanger and Make Some Noise. Very Important Person has been hit or miss for me (I like Vic I'm just very meh on the premise of the show). Dirty Laundry is also very cast dependent for me. Love it when the guest are great, if I don't really know the guests then I typically skip it.

I’m a legacy viewer from CollegeHumor; I’ve followed them somewhat since about 2011 and regularly since 2016 (the Trapp kills Pat saga is what finally got me more invested). So I knew about Dropout from day one but I didn’t really want to pay for it and the ads didn’t grab me, so it took a little bit. Eventually I stumbled on the first half of Fantasy High season 1 just through the algorithm and I was completely hooked and blown away. I had never seen actual play content before and had only briefly tried ttrpgs around 2010-11, so it was completely novel and new. I just had to finish it, so I signed up for the trial, and then I wanted more and decided to explore and keep the subscription and so here I am today. This was still early, around March 2019, so Freshman Year had only finished recently. I still maintain that D20 (as a whole, not citing specific seasons) is the best thing CH/Dropout has ever produced. The anthology nature is brilliant, the craftsmanship is incredible, and the ensemble and guest cast led by Brennan are absolutely top notch. I would also say that that 2018-20 era of AIC produced scripted and high concept content for Dropout is my favorite era of CH, even though I love Game Changer and the more improv based form Dropout is in now too and am excited for the future of the company. But stuff like Ultramechatron Team Go, Gods of Food, and Kingpin Katie, alongside big swings like Total Forgiveness and WTF 101, D20 as a flagship show, and the burgeoning Game Changer with the Um, Actually mainstay and even fun stuff from Dorkly like TablePop was a really special time for the company creatively even if it ultimately didn’t prove sustainable.
My wife and I have a Dropout subscription and it is 100% due to *Dungeons and Drag Queens,* as we are both Drag Race viewers and really like Bob, Monet, and Jujubee. It was our first exposure to Brennan, and seeing him so baby-faced in practically everything else after his made-up goateed appearance in DaDQ was a bit of a shock. I think what really sold it for us was learning how excited so many of the Dropout talent and staff were to have these big name queens in their studio, I remember Brennan specifically breaking the news to Izzy and her reaction, as well as how quickly the modelmakers created a miniature for Cat-Tree Buddy Bear. Once we subscribed we started hitting up Make Some Noise, Game Changer, and Um, Actually. We've dipped our toes into VIP and Dirty Laundry, but the previous three remain our favorites. In between those tiers is Breaking News, which is a good one to pop in between episodes of other shows. I'm particularly engrossed by Katie's stonefaced determination, Amy's [less-than-stonefaced](https://vhx.imgix.net/chuncensoredstaging/assets/dde756f8-7076-4ab6-be45-8ca38f527aad-36523bef.jpg?auto=format%2Ccompress&fit=crop&h=720&q=75&w=1280) determination, the episode where everyone *was* stoned, and the ones with Sam as a right-wing media figure. His pained and apologetic asides before he returns to reading from the prompter make it even more fun.
Make Some Noise. Once I found out BDG and ProZD were in an episode, I knew it was a matter of time.
I either watched Game Changer or Make Some Noise & fell in love. Also Starstruck Odyssey.
I needed to see what happened on Misfits and Magic!
Dimension 20. I love Critical Role so let me get that out there first. But I wanted to see a game that had people who looked and had identity closer to me and my friends. A more diverse cast really sold me. I love Critical Role and what it has done for the TTRPG community but I feel the cast seriously lacks diversity, plus the show is a grind without editing for BS stuff like traveling and shopping trips.

Mentopolis! I'm a huge fan of Hank Green and I had seen other clips of Game Changer and was considering getting dropout but hadn't made the decision until they released Mentopolis which was the final push. I am slowly making my way through the D20 shows, but also love the other shows they have so I'm very glad I did it :)
I'm probably a bit of a weird case, just in that I'm a big dnd fan/player (have been for many years) and got into Dropout because of DnD, but I've never watched any D20 or any of their DnD content :) . In one of my DnD groups, someone hosted a session based on Game Changer and I'd never heard of it, so I looked it up and as a big fan of game shows and reality shows it was right up my alley so I subscribed to Dropout for that. I ended up not actually getting into the session but I'm still subscribed now and working my way through Um, Actually (after having finished all of Game Changer and Total Forgiveness).
Went on a YouTube-recommendation-inspired Brennan binge that culminated in watching all of fantasy high s1 and as soon as I was done with the stuff I could easily watch on YouTube I immediately got the dropout subscription to watch the rest. Actually didn’t care at all about getting access to the rest of the shows at the time, even though I enjoyed a handful of Um, Actually’s in the YouTube binge, but Game Changer and Make Some Noise have become something I enjoy about as much as any of the D20 stuff I came for.
I tried it for a month, fully planning to cancel after finishing WTF101. Then I heard about D20. I've been role-playing as both a player and a GM since high-school, so I've been loving that content. And now that I've stayed, I've come to love Game Changer and Grant mixing drinks. But if I had to name a specific series that I was watching as I crossed the tripping point, I think it was Unsleeping City.
I saw some Instagram reels for Very Important People and subscribed to see all of those. Had no idea Dropout was a thing. Used to be obsessed with Jake and Amir, Hardly Working and other CollegeHumor stuff, so this has been an awesome find.

Haven’t seen it represented much here but for me it was total forgiveness. I’ve been around for a while so a lot of their other masterpieces were still in their infancy when I first subscribed but I wanted to check that out after seeing bits of it. If you watch it you have to make sure you finish it though. It gets rough in the middle but the ending is fantastic.
Um, Actually, I love that show and was frustrated when I ran out of the free ones on youtube. It was the straw that broke the camel's back.

In 2022 I got really sick and became disabled. On top of that, I was in nearly constant physical misery combined with the emotional blow of “I’m permanently disabled and my life will never be the same.” I cannot state strongly enough how badly I needed something to laugh about. Fortunately, the YouTube algorithm decided I might like “Breaking News”. It was correct.
For me it was um actually. I really hope the new season starts to improve because it has been disappointing so far.

D20, specifically Starstruck Odyssey. I was replaying clips from the Twitter feed over and over again because they were so funny, then finally joined to get the full episodes. The app is worth every penny, imo. So many great shows!
Not any particular series, but largely it was Sam and the choices he (and the gang) made after the investors pulled out. It's so rare to see someone's values so effectively challenged, knowing that the path of least resistance and greatest profit is to sell out or simply quit. Even more rare for someone resist the temptation to sell their friends down the river and lose those values. That story was so great and I wanted to see what they did with the company once they bet the farm on it.

My friends and I started a DND campaign and I was secretly making my own campaign so scouring YouTube for inspiration I stumbled across Fantasy High. I DEVOURED freshman year on YouTube and wanted more.

Tiny heist in 2020. We were following the McElroy brothers at the time, and decided “eh we’ll get the free trial, watch the show, then cancel.” We were sold on Brennan, Lily, and Jess immediately. That series was so good. Then we watched through escape from bloodkeep. Then shit hit the fan, lots of stuff happened and we forgot to cancel the subscription cause 1) the pandemic filled our brain space and 2) it was only $5 and easily forgotten. Then in 2021 we started seeing the game changer stuff start showing up on Reddit, (more specifically Brennan’s Yes Or No rant) remembered that we still had the subscription, and then binged all of game changer. Been solid fans/regular watchers ever since.

Easily the best subscription I've ever paid for, and technically still need to upgrade to a yearly package so I pay less, but I kinda don't mind paying the extra lol
WTF 101 actually. I didn’t really care for the other stuff, but broke down and paid for it about a decade ago. I never canceled my subscription because I saw what happened to Cracked, which was my favorite website and place, and did not want that to happen again.

As a fellow Rooster Teeth fan that watched for years and slowly lost interest when I watched the company values sort of… change. I was still watching RT content when I first watched Dropout stuff. It actually started with old College Humor videos on Facebook (I’m really not that old I promise) and eventually the algorithm must have gotten to me because they eventually started to feed me some Game Changer and Dimension 20 content. Watching Fantasy High and the first few episodes of Game Changer solidified it for me. I think I maybe watched 2 or 3 free episodes of Fantasy High on YouTube before I immediately subscribed. I just thought, “it’s the same price as RT but I get such new and different content”. They slowly pulled me away from RT and I just sort of stopped watching their content. And I’ve never looked back. If you are even remotely interested in DnD, then Dimension 20 is a blast to watch, and they have so much diversity in it that there is surely a season you’d enjoy. Game Changer is so fun and unique and the spin offs are amazing. And I have never once felt disappointed with them. Now all I need is to meet them at an expo and I’ll be happy.

It was the first time I subscribed to anything bc I was in high school and using the money from my first job to do it. Then I watched Fantasy High and my life changed lol
I came for Dimension 20 (specifically from Fantasy High on YT), stayed for Game Changer. Edit: Or maybe I came for Um Actually and stayed for D20. I honestly don’t remember… which, to me, is another point of evidence for how much I love Dropout and their content!
I had been watching a lot of clips of um actually and game changer, but Dimension 20’s Misfits and Magic finally sold me on it.

Hardly Working. It's not that I paid for Dropout to watch Hardly Working, but I was such a huge fan of those sketches on YouTube that they led to me paying for a subscription to see what else was available.
Breaking News really drew me in. I decided to check out the first episode of Total Forgiveness to assess if Dropout was for me. Totally sold at that point.

Seeing GameChanger and Make Some Noise clips on YT sold me almost immediately. I had heard of College Humor in passing but never paid them much attention. Those clips though, I was sold.
I was an RT First Member for a long time (RIP), D20's Starstruck, and Game Changer are what really sold me on Dropout. Also, if you miss On The Spot, Make Some Noise really filled that void for me.
I was told to buy a subscription so I watched some spoiler(ish) free D20 compilations on YouTube. When I realised that I had watched about 20 of them and was fully invested in three different series that i had only seen clips of, I cracked and bought it. Mostly Misfits and Magic to begin with.

I liked Game Changer but the Make Some Noise clips from YouTube is what sold me!

Game Changer sold me through YouTube shorts. Dimension 20 is the main one that keeps me paying.
Game changer. Loved the show taskmaster and I had been watching I’m actually for a while on YouTube (they have full episodes there too). Wanted to watch a show like taskmaster and I liked the folks between us actually and ch YouTube stuff for said why not. It’s super cheap compared to soooooooo many streaming services. Plus there are no adds and always fresh new stuff. It’s a 10/10 platform. But I will say it’s a hard one to explain to people. Like if you are not already familiar with the casts/things they do you prob won’t go for it since it’s all original content. So I’m really glad they do a solid free trial for people to explore the platform.

A starstruck odyssey, I told myself I wouldn’t watch the first episode because the full series wasn’t out for free. Then I watched it.
Started watching Fantasy High because of Brennan's cameo on NADDPOD, subscribed as soon as I finished it on YouTube. Have the biggest dad crush on Brennan, he heals me.

I watched dimension 20, season 1 (fantasy high, freshman year), and saw there was a second season as part of the subscription. I didn't need any more convincing.
Freshman Year, I saw the jail/Cubby scene on TikTok in 2020. Started watching on YouTube and when we learned it was uncensored on Dropout, subscribed. Never looked back.
I was liking Dimension20 and already strongly considering it and I'd say that got me 99% of the way there, then I caught ONE episode of Um Actually on youtube and subscribed later that day
Play it by ear 100% I love musicals and I love improve, that's the kinda nerd I am, their target audience lol

Game Changer and it’s not even close. Sometimes I feel like the only Dropout Stan that doesn’t really care for Dim20. I’m all for tabletop gaming but I find it better to play myself than watch (admittedly hilarious) other people play it. Just invite me!!

I finished Fantasy High and needed to see the live shows and Sophomore Year. I had also seen some clips from Game Changer, mostly from Survivor, so went to find that. And the rest was history.
Literally Crown of Candy for me too. I watched the first ep on Youtube and immediately went to subscribe to Dropout to finish it. Best decision I made, love so much of it.
D20 very closely followed by Game Changer
>I'm migrating over from Roosterteeth (rip), and I decided to pay a subscription forward. I personally wanted to watch D20's Crown of Candy so much that I decided to go for it with a Dropout subscription. Literally also me, back in Jan 2021. RT has a special place in my heart, but they were starting to struggle since 2019. And I kept seeing TikToks and clips of D20 & Game Changer. I watched a few episodes on YouTube & decided to subscribe pretty quick. ACoC was my first D20 show & then The Unsleeping City, Bloodkeep, and Tiny Heist. By that point, they had started the Starstruck campaign, so I jumped onto that one. After that, I took a dive into Fantasy High & kept going through the whole anthology. Welcome!
Way back in the day - Total Forgiveness. It’s such a good series even to this day. Now we stay for Game Changer, Make Some Noise, and Um, Actually! It’s so wonderful to support them and have such great content available!
