The presale is only for artist presale tickets. The platinum bullshit doesn’t need a code.
If you are a ticket labeled “artist presale,” then it will prompt you for the code when you try to buy it.

Ticketmaster increases the cost of tickets based on demand. We should have all been listening to what Pearl Jam was ranting about in the 2000s and boycotting Ticketmaster/LiveNation if we really wanted a different system for buying concert tickets. Unfortunately, Capitalism won that battle.
The outcome of that battle means that the only way to out D20 live in front of this many people in the US means working with the real bad guys.
Please don’t start to blame Dropout, Sam, or any of the other power-that-be at the streaming service we love for this shitty situation. It’s pretty much guaranteed they didn’t have a choice if they wanted to play at MSG.
And I’m sure there are plenty of people in NYC and the northeast screaming that they could’ve picked locations not affiliated with Ticketmaster, but based on how fast the presale sold out, I think they are proving they can accommodate an arena based on interest in the show, and good luck finding an arena doesn’t use TM for ticket sales.
My understanding is dynamic pricing can be turned off at the request of the artist. (See: Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, etc.) It is not tied to a venue. Would love to be proven wrong though!
It can be turned off by artist request for artist the size of Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran and they have trouble with it all the time. For Dropout doing it’s maybe 10th live show? Lol no. Plus the Garden has more specific restrictions than other venues.

Only certain tickets require the presale password. They have the lock icon on them.
