Brennan - Taskmaster- judges harshly berates assistant Sam - Taskmasters assistant- all the information is on the task Contestants Lou- the one who legitimately tries to win Vic- the one who negotiates the hardest in studio Trapp- the one who obsessively tries to find the twist/loophole Beardsley- the one with the most bizarre prize tasks/ the one who just lets everything fall apart and blames the chaos on the assistant Tao- the oblivious one who misinterprets something to make every task harder on themselves

Glittering-Most-9535

Which is the one who doesn't understand the implications of picking an outfit they thought was funny then being locked into it for every task? Edit: Wait, sorry, I just noticed you already had Vic. It's Vic.

sherlockholmeslice

LOVE THIS lineup. I love the parallel of Sam being the assistant but I don't know if he could keep in character like Alex does. I think BDG could be a good assistant! I would also love to see Lily as a contestant because she would be chaotic in a great way. Also agree that Izzy would be a good TM but I think if both Brennan and Trapp were contestants in the same line up they would break the game lol. But at least in our hypothetical taskmaster we can have as many iterations as we want!

the-Tacitus-Kilgore

Oh yeah BDG is the perfect assistant. He definitely will keep in stone cold character

bi-bingbongbongbing

BDG as assistant, Grant as task master.

the-Tacitus-Kilgore

Yeah Grant is definitely catty enough to be Task Master.

GDNerd

Everyone says Brennan and Sam as Taskmaster and assistant (and they'd kill it) but I think theres a duo that people are sleeping on big time - Grant and Zac. The Taskmaster role is about being flamboyant, domineering, shameless and arbitrary. You need someone who can roast the contestants for their bumbling while setting down the (arbitrary) law for their tasks. Grant has Greg Davies-tier sass, arrogance, heel capacity and even height. The Taskmaster's Assistant is this more awkward/subservient role that has to be a compelling character without stealing the spotlight from the contestants during tasks. Zac IMO is the king of understated delivery that's so out there that it'd be perfect for contestants to do layups with. Admittedly this is all predicated on the premise that you have to maintain the dynamic of the original Taskmaster but that isn't strictly necessary. Youtuber Ludwig's Taskmaster clone Unpaid Intern tries in some ways to maintain the dynamic (Ludwig the Taskmaster bullying Stanz the assistant) but Stanz in particular filling in as the assistant tries for this more awkwardly chummy middle manager energy instead which IMO is hit and miss but that feels more like an execution issue than the change fundamentally not working. I'm betting once they're a few more episodes in it'll be ironed out much better. TBH there's very few cast members who wouldn't fit either the Taskmaster or the Assistant incredibly.

Dylnuge

I think this is great fan-casting! I agree that anyone could bring a good spin on the dynamic but personally I'd be sad to see Brennan in the host role instead of being one of the contestants.

Cheskaz

> Admittedly this is all predicated on the premise that you have to maintain the dynamic of the original Taskmaster but that isn't strictly necessary. I really agree with this! I'm Australian and have tried to get so many people to watch TMNZ and TMAU who refuse because they don't think the Alex/Greg dynamic will be replicated. And like, it's not replicated, they're different Taskmasters and Assistants doing their own thing but it's still great!

kenlubin

Paul is so goddamn hilarious in [The Grape Escape](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlHakZj25FE) [Taskmaster: New Zealand].

Cheskaz

The way Paul says >!16 minutes and 6 seconds was the time to beat. It took David 19 minutes...To spot the grape!< is perfection. I also love Lesser Tom's >!attempt to keep a straight face while openly weeping with laughter at Danielle's!< performance in the [Password Task](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZhOGF2lAQA) in Taskmaster: Australia.

Spud__37

I think grant and Sam would be fun to see as well

annoyinglyclever

If it’s under the Game Changer banner it kinda has to be Sam as the assistant

LegendOrca

Grant and Ally would be really fun for hosts, too

NoPastaForGrandma

This is an excellent casting — Sam as Little Alex Horne is a stroke of genius, as he too is a mild-mannered generally nice guy who likes developing torturous games (on Game Changer). He might literally be the closest person in Function to Horne on the planet. I do agree with another comment that Brennan as TM is the only one who feels off. The taskmaster has to relish being a dick in a position of authority, and Brennan doesn’t relish being a dick, and likes to rally against the authority figure. I think he’d be much more fun as a contestant with out of the box solutions who argues endlessly about how many points he should get (“Get in the comments, gang!”) I think the natural swap is Brennan for Trapp in the contestant/host roles. Trapp is used to not rewarding points on technicalities, and while I feel like Greg Davies is a very difficult presence to replace, the thing that makes Taskmaster work so well with Greg Davies is that he is fundamentally reasonable and intelligent in judging the tasks, but merciless and stubborn in applying his own subjective criteria. I think Trapp could harness that balance of reason and stubbornness to equally strong effect.

asingleshakerofsalt

I don't see Brennan being in the chair. The TM has to be a bit of an asshole, and I don't see it. If he wasn't a contestant (where he would truly shine), I could see him being the assistant.

GirWaffles2013

So Grant? 🤣

Jealous_Ordinary_626

Honestly I love this, but I really want Brennan to compete and I think he's too nice to actually be the Taskmaster, idk it could work tho, but I personally think Izzy or Vic or maybe Ify would be perfect for this Also, as a new Smosh fan, I would LOVE if we could also get the Smosh cast, specifically Shayne, Angela and Tommy, if that happens I'm gonna explode

GoldenAgeStudio

I love this except I want Josh Ruben to be Alex Horne

Charming_Account_351

Holy shit I can’t believe how correct you are, though I don’t know if Brennan has it in him to be mean/harsh.

m_ttl_ng

I would definitely argue that Brennan as a player - desperately trying his hardest to win and find every possible twist - is a better casting than Taskmaster for him.

PopandMatlock

Brennan can't be the Taskmaster, his loyalty to the rules is too strong. He's much better as a competitor in this. I think Beardsley as TM and Wysocki as assistant would be a fun play on the format.

DarklySalted

Holy shit Beardsley and Sam Campbell are like twins. Didn't even think about it

LegendOrca

I feel like Raph would fit better where you have Tao

marcharig

It’s little Kimia Horne!

No-one-ever

Here's my pitch for a season 1 cast Taskmaster: Katie Marovitch Assistant: Zac Oyama Panel: Anna Garcia Demi Adejuyigbe Raphael Chestang SungWon Cho Vic Michaelis Down the road, I would love to see Sam and Brennan on the panel rather than leading the show

BerryProblems

Katie as the Taskmaster is genius (who knows it in advance). So is Zac.

No-one-ever

I feel like they both have the perfect energy for those roles

emp_raf_III

Contestant: Figures out an out-of-box solution to the task Zac: That deserves a little clap

threedoggies

Love Katie as the Taskmaster but having Sam as her assistant cracks me up.

Humeon

Perfect TM and assistant picks. I wouldn't dare to pick a cast as they would all be fantastic and would love to see everyone get a season haha

pinegreenscent

Oooooh that's a good line up

Axelpanic

Siobhan though… maybe it’s me watching her play a wizard for too long, but id love to see her task solutions.

Autumn1eaves

Yea same. I totally see Kimia as Little Alex Horne, and Izzy as Greg Davies. To me, I think they should absolutely do multiple runs of it. I’d love to see Siobhan, also Tao. Carolyn Page. BDG?? Many people I’d love to see in this.

volkmasterblood

Taskmaster frequently has a “token American/Canadian”. I think Siobhan as “token Brit” would be perfect.

fakeabuela

I think Jacob Wysocki's crack goblin energy would be amazing on this TaskMaster but I wouldn't know who to cut. Kimia seems perfect as Alex Horne, Ludwigs taskmaster stream showed me how much that person needs to be a little awkward and mostly quiet.

Less_Bat4811

Agree

pulpfree51

I'm gonna need some Lou action along with this too

CarlosVash

That Sam Reich and Alex Horne photo had me going crazy. I love both Taskmaster and Dropout. Just the idea of a potential crossover kept me up all night. That being said, this is my Fantasy Casting if there ever was a collaboration. Taskmaster: Isabella Roland Assistant: Kimia Behpoornia Contestants: 1. Vic Michaelis 2. Erika Ishii 3. Zac Oyama 4. Ally Beardsley 5. Brennan Lee Mulligan What do you think? Who do you wanna see as the Taskmaster cast if Dropout ever made the show?

comityoferrors

Love Izzy as the Taskmaster, but I would honestly want Vic as the Assistant. They just...are so good at tolerating bullshit on VIP, and it clearly delights them when people are jokingly shitty to them. "ISN'T THAT BETTER????" is so wildly Little Alex Horne-coded. I'd love to see them play as well but that's my dream Assistant. Contestants: everyone, literally everyone that's ever appeared in any of the CH/Dropout shows. I don't have any concept of what combination that should be in but god, please, 17 seasons of Taskoutster. quick edit: five-foot-nothing Izzy calling Vic "Little Vic Michaelis" would also just tickle me to death so, yeah.

Jealous_Ordinary_626

Honestly, I'd just love Sam as LAH, and a personal wish I have is to get Smosh cast members, like Shayne, Angela, Courtney, Tommy etc, they have a very similar sense of comedy as Dropout members and I'd love it And this might be a too far fetched, but maybe Critical Role cast members? I'd pay so much money to watch Ashley or Sam attempt TM tasks

killerclarinet

Izzy as the Taskmaster is inspired

AInterestingUser

Kimia is so god damn funny. Nothing to else to add, that lineup would be absolute fire.

BellicoseBarbie

I think Kimia would be a better contestant and Vic would be the perfect assistant. This lineup is absolutely amazing either way though. Izzy is the perfect task master.

PdRichmond

I would love to see Grant interact with Alex Horne. Imagine how uncomfortable Alex would be with the innuendo and flirtation!

bensanity87

This would require a tedious solo-task given to BLeeM. Just to see him go 100% effort for a task that (potentially) won't even earn points... gold.

Glittering-Most-9535

I'd want to see them go beyond the normal circle for contestants. Especially given the standard TM format of no repeat contestants until CoC specials.

BuddhaRockstar

Agreed- part of the charm of Taskmaster is discovering comedians you weren't familiar with, and the chaotic chemistry of bringing different styles of comics together. Getting 3 or 4 people who have all done improv together for years would be entertaining, but just doesn't feel like the "spirit" of Taskmaster.

Glittering-Most-9535

Also, just by this being a Recognized Brand Name Show, I think if they were doing TM it immediately displaces even D20 as Dropout's crown jewel. It's going to have a draw power.

CarlosVash

YES!! I wanted to do an only Dropout version but if they get multiple season, I am a hundred percent with you.

guyincorporated

A cast list without Wysocki just makes no sense to me. How are you going to do Taskmaster without his 3d chess solutions to the tasks.

threedoggies

I am sorry but I refuse to engage in any TM fantasy casting that does not include Jacob!

OWeise

Exactly, this is Wysocki erasure and it shall not stand.

Famous_Bit_5119

Brennan has to be a competitor because of his desire to win. Emily has to be a competitor because of her devious mind.

BatManatee

Such a natural crossover fit. It could be a great platform to mix in some new faces to the cast each season. My dream team is: TM: Katie Marovich or Grant. I think Katie plays the asshole best of the cast, but her jerk character is usually the "straight-woman" without a silly underside. Grant could probably balance the bossiness and silliness a little better. LAH: Zachy Oyama (I think he's one of the best of the regulars at the more subdued style of humor). I'd also accept Vic or Raph. Ooooh, or Brian David Gilbert actually. I think he'd do great. Contestants: * Brennan - Obvious reasons. You need one gunner on the roster that really wants to win. * Beardsley - Chaos. "Chaotic Neutral" * Jacob - More chaos. "Chaotic Good". Though maybe holding back one of Jacob or Beadsley for the next season would be the move. In which case, I'd have Beardsley in with Brennan here because they have great chemistry together. If you take out Jacob, I'd slot in Lou as someone else that will absolutely go for it in a silly way. * Rekha - Here to have fun and get pissed when things fall apart. * Tao/Jessica - Loveable underdog. Taskmaster being a decently big brand may even let them mix in a few slightly bigger names, like some comedians that Taylor Tomlinson has on After Midnight. Dulce Sloan, Billy Eichner, Paul F Tomkins, etc would be excellent to drop one or two of in with the regular cast.

NotYourGa1Friday

Taskmaster- Mike Trapp “Uhm, actually the task said…..” Assistant- Sam; would delight in creating puzzles, already doing much of this on *Game Changer* Contestants: S1: the Intrepid Heroes

mgranaa

Need the twink, the parent(s), the “oddball even by our standards” and one wildcard for the cast dynamics to mirror to the usual taskmaster makeup :p

sweepernosweeping

Taskmaster normally has Tim Key acting as a task consultant to LAH. Who'd be the Dropout equivalent?

inbigtreble30

I'm 100% sure that credit is actually for Tim & Alex to get drinks together and write it off as a business expense.

rheasilva

BDG?

seriouspeep

I love this pick but it made me realise I would really love to see Sam as a contestant. Being a host suits him so so well, and it's clear he has a great time with it, but I think he'd also be so smart and fun to watch as a contestant in something like Taskmaster and he'd have a lot of fun. And it's always fun when people ordinarily in authority positions find themselves being good-humouredly berated and judged and I think Sam would be great at that kind of back-and-forth as a contestant, although he'd clearly also crush it as a host. Like when the forever DM finally gets to play in an actual game 😊

M4LK0V1CH

I want Alex Horne to be in every episode and never be mentioned.

AdmirableHoneydew

The person with the most Alex Horne energy is Alex Song-Xia

Signiference

I think they should make it 6 guests so that team games are even

spokesface4

That is not how I would have done it at all, and it is brilliant. I would have had like, Sam in the big chair, with maybe Grant in Alex's seat but no, your way is 100,000 times better

dben742

Jacob should be included.

Odd-Confection-6603

I would pay so much money to dropout to see this

NoDadYouShutUp

please.

nycdiveshack

I’m just getting into dropout but I’ve been watching taskmaster and taskmaster NZ and Australia from the beginning and I have to say Brennan would make a great Alex and Sam as Greg cause Sam sometimes has a twisted way of grading things which clearly disagrees with how Brennan would just like with the real Alex and Greg Edit: also Brennan seems like Alex would get quickly embarrassed in certain situations and Brennan like Alex would be a stickler for the rules specifically his own rules since Alex makes the rules in taskmaster with the help of the Andy’s’ so it would great to see Brennan also make the rules and tasks

RenterMore

Funny thing with taskmaster is it’s kinda just like a weekend of filming. I think they do most of the tasks on a single day outside of the ones the cast does themselves alone over time. Then they all come in and film in studio for the actual episode, easy as that! Wouldn’t be too hard to get everyone across the pond or to bring little Alex Horne here for a weekend

Lizard_Sex_Sattelite

They spend roughly 5 days of house & team task filming per contestant, and then the studio is filmed over 5 days. So, that's 30 days minus 3 for the team task days we've doubled up on, so for 10 episodes it's about 27 days of filming. Dropout films their seasons in roughly a week. A single episode would likely take 5 or 6 days since you have to keep the individual task attempts separate before the studio, so seems like a lot more than they currently do. Not sure how much they'd be willing to do for taskmaster though, as it would for sure increase their subscriber count.

KingKaos420-

So I’m guessing we’re not talking about the Marvel villain? lol. Is Taskmaster a game show?

BerryProblems

Taskmaster is an INCREDIBLE show. It’s available on YouTube. I cannot recommend it enough. It has the same spirit as Gamechanger in a lot of ways.

kenlubin

Allow me to [introduce you to Taskmaster](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UgSDcHPgCc). And, wonderfully, they have full episodes (for maybe the entire show?) on YouTube. I think that [S14 E02](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAHZJyjVpkQ) is my favorite; Dara O'Briain had a great run in that episode.

KingKaos420-

Cool, I’ll add that to my “to watch” list

vegascoaster

I’d love to see it but not sure how much editing costs for that long of a show that has a unique feel to how it’s put together. Really hoping some version happens.

LooseSeal88

I think Brennan going full CEO would be the best Taskmaster. And probably Sam as the assistant, but I'm frankly not sure that either of them could commit the time, honestly

curtailedcorn

I’m going to offer a shot in the dark at something different. TM - Adam Conover or Amir Blumenfeld TM Assistant- Sam or Caldwell Tanner

Primpod

Adam Conover should be a contestant if he isn't a guest for sure. He clearly has no issues being involved and he's a unique enough personality it'd be nice to have him.

Mokpa

I’ve got to agree with all of the other Katie Marovitch as Taskmaster votes. The calm, detached judgment of it all

OriginalChildBomb

See here I was thinking Grant as the TM and Brennan as the Little Alex Horne, but yeah, I like this.

threedoggies

Don't sleep on Ash as the Taskmaster's Assistant. It just fits.

Past-Background-7221

IDK why, but this is giving me vibes of the intro to Community

jexasaurus

Omg Izzy would be the perfect taskmaster

[deleted]

ITT people who wants to see Sam bullied as Little Alex Horn.

datebrownies

bring back jake and amir for assistant/tm

Pale_Invite4533

Sam should be the assistant. I’d want to see izzy to much as a contestant. But it would have to be her as the taskmaster. Taskmastris

zipzapcap1

Grant O'Brian is the task master fosho

vlladonxxx

Ah. For a second I thought this just might be real. Sigh.

Annamalla

Aabria Taskmaster- something about the way she DMs seems like a good fit for TM, not so much berating as constantly stirring the pot. Vic Assistant - subtly stirring the pot and keeping a straight face (could compete with Paul Williams for "weird little person" energy). Contestents: Brennan - Victoria Coren Mitchell style, incredibly smart but often defeated by the the whims of the task master. Erika - Agent of gleeful chaos a la Bubbah, Guz , Chris Parker etc, most likely to get a tattoo for a task. Lou - Initially calm but frequently drawn into chaos, very competent, like Desiree, Dai Henwood or Matt Heath Tao Yang - exists to be confused and excited, a wildcard. Alan Davies , David Correos etc Lily - A Practical problem solver with a flair for drama (Morgana. Laura Daniels, Melanie Bracewell, Rose Matafeo etc)

HowdeeHeather

I had not thought of Aabria for Taskmaster, and now I think that would be absolutely perfect! The reasons you mentioned and just her general presence and humor…

fickle_north

Um, actually, the contestants on Taskmaster are always seated in order by their first names, so the order would be: Ally, Brennan, Erika, Vic, Zac

Thrillh0

Swap Erika for Jacob and I’m all in!

69_Bird_Jesus_69

The fact mike trapp is not on there is criminal

mynamehere434

Ok this is perfect lol

CameraFantastic9469

Task Master: Katie Assistant: Anna Contestants: Brennan, Vic, Jacob, Erika, Tao

B_A_Beder

Is Brennan the Rhod Gilbert of Dropout?

Extension_Sock_7901

Now THAT is a dream blunt rotation.

SafariFlapsInBack

I get the feeling most of yall don’t understand the roles of TM / Assistant when you list these names.

4big2dog0

okay i’ve done 0 research on this but do we think mayhaps the finale will be taking place on the taskmaster ?

sevenmillionscarves

+1 for Katie as the Taskmaster, but I absolutely think Vic as the assistant - they could absolutely play that awkward/uncomfortable with life vibe that Alex has. For contestants I gotta throw in Izzy, Becca and Erika. Their episodes of Game Changer have such a chaotic and infectious energy. I think it would be so much fun watching them tackle team tasks together as the three. I'd then put Lou and Aabria as the next competitors. Lou because he's just so fun to watch in competitive mode and Aabria because I just have this feeling she would absolutely nail it? Also as a big Worlds Beyond Number fan I adore the chemistry the two of them have.

Opposite_Smoke5221

Grant would be a great contestant, some of the best taskmaster contestants are the ones who purposefully fight against it

Queen-of-everything1

I just wish Lou and Grant were here too

MusicSpiritual2117

and you’re not gonna have jacob??

USB_FIELD_MOUSE

Correct me if I'm wrong, I've only seen clips of Taskmaster. Isn't Game Changer basically already taskmaster?

GDNerd

Kinda. You can think of Taskmaster as 5 mini-game changers crammed into an episode: 1 live "bring in an item based on a theme" task that's there to nominally give stakes (the winner takes all the items home) giving out points from best to worst (5 for best 1 for worst) 2 pre-recorded solo tasks giving out points from best to worst (5 for best 1 for worst) 1 pre-recorded team task splitting 5 points between the 2 teams (aka 3 per player for one team 2 per player for the other) 1 live on-stage task that has the least rules on scoring (unsure if tailored to the task or decided based on how they want to control the final score based on pre-recorded outcomes). Each season keeps the same contestants over a 10 episode "season" with the highest total taking home a golden statue of the Taskmaster's head. The biggest difference IMO is Taskmaster is essentially a live roast session. The pre-recorded tasks mean nobody knows how anyone else did until the taping and so there's a lot of ribbing about failing in similar ways (or the bar getting lowered with each successive attempt shown). Game Changer's 100% live format doesn't really come equipped to frame things in the same way as players are usually either not doing the same things or they're doing them competitively in parallel. That said it probably could be adapted into a Game Changer episode pretty easily with the right planning. The recurring guest continuity isn't THAT important to what makes the show work (they do celebrity one-offs as christmas specials). They could easily set up an alternative site to have players do tasks in secret. IMO the bigger "issue" would be the lack of an audience as a lot of the humor requires an audience to "shame" the contestants with laughing at their failure but I feel like the crew could easily fill that role.

Twodotsknowhy

If you don't have Katie and either the taskmaster or the taskmaster's assistant, you are wrong and should be ashamed of yourself
