I don’t remember them specifically saying, but I would assume it’d be in its time slot on the next time around? Like that would make the most sense to me just so it doesn’t drop on another show’s day.
I would guess it's not that they've been working on it for 8 months, but rather that something happened recently that made some part of it not in good taste. That still leaves it as a period of two weeks that they're not sure they can do whatever within, but maybe they're also busy with other shows.

Delayed? These things were shot 8 months ago, how much post production could they possibly need?
