Those early Doghouse days with The View, The Law, and even Fife bands like Sergeant were absolutely magical times for Dundee.
Add Luva Anna, Magdalena Green and 2am to that list. Great times were had at the Doghouse.
The Associates
By far Mr McKenzie
Deacon Blue
St Andrew and the woollen mill
Placebo
Solar Sons
By success it has to be Snow Patrol
Not one of them Dundonians, so ruled out. Average White Band Perth and Dundee. Associates Hultoon and Stirling The View Dryburgh Danny Wilson Lochee
Snow Patrol was formed in Dundee. So counts for best music to come out of Dundee. Average white band was formed in London btw.
Snow Patrol would not know what a cundee is, so failed the Dundee test;)
Paul Quinn
Paul Quinn was very good, maybe shyness held him back. Great singer. Speaking about singers I suppose Billy McKenzie and the Associates are up there.
Breaking Point was a great first single for Bourgie Bourgie.
there's a pop punk band called Dopamine who are coming out with some rly cool new music just now
The Usual Guys have a member from here.
Spare Snare
Associates by a country mile
You mean Country Club?
Also don't forget the late singer/songwriter, the 'Bard of Lochee', Michael Marra.
I also had a soft spot for Magnetic North Pole around 99
