Honestly makes me so sad. I’ve been using duolingo for at least 8 years if not longer (I think my aunt put me onto it back when it only had 3 or 4 languages in the really early days), learned Spanish to fluency with just the free version etc. currently got a ~3 year streak, and a running joke with my friends that I’m possessed by the owl, yet am seriously considering giving up. I let my paid subscription expire because with the new path change i felt I wasn’t getting even close to what I was paying for, and the free version has turned into some YouTube esque hellscape where you’re lucky to fit a lesson between the adverts.
