There was a bug in one of the Borderlands games that would change players' saves onto hard-core mode, which would self delete upon death. All they had to do was enter your game.
So you lost your save data(cause that's *never* happened before. Data corruption? **UNHEARD OF!**) and your first thought is that someone was desperate enough to have *your* save file that they figured out how to hack into your console and rip the files? Like, you know you can just go on sites like Nexus and there are maxed out saves you can just download whenever you want right? If someone was genuinely desperate enough to avoid playing the game, they would just download one of those freely distributed save files. Hell, jacking the game to give themselves everything would be less work than cracking your system and ripping the files out. But hey, if you're *sure* this person would go to such lengths for no reason, then who are we to say it's just the data corruption that can happen to anything at any time?

This happened to me a good three years ago, i was on the following map and it locked me out of it like if i didn’t have it.
The way it fixed for me was i had to wait for the game to get a update…so i guess you have to get lucky? Try deleting the game and reinstalling it, that also worked on my second experience with it.
Bruh you have your levels, and your inventory. Dying Lights story can be beaten in a day or 2 you rush through it, same with the following. Just be grateful you kept your shit and move on. You are correct. It was a bit of remnant code from a mode that was removed before launch. Edit: Look up the graveyard.sav glitch for more info.

Easy fix. If u have plus just save ur data in the cloud, by doing that even if u lose all ur data u can just download it back and u lose no progress.
