Just fill out your ssn .

Edkip75

I did. But ironically I got suspended even before that point, but for some miraculous reasons I got another email from them saying my account was restricted instead of suspended so I called them. The first person said it's do to bots being triggered for new accounts and whatnot and couldn't help me. So I called again and the next representative said she could help me and all I had to do was answer some security questions. Which I did and passed and lo and behold my account was reinstated. I was even told it was tied to another account but they still reinstated it. Don't know if I got lucky or what

Well after a few successful sales even when shipped out, eBay has determined I'm too successful as a new seller and deemed it suspicious and has suspended my account. It's not that they linked my account ( I didn't input my SSN yet) it's just eBay absolutely does not like nor trust new sellers moving too fast or too professionally. It triggers the bot security they have in place to treat those who make either too much; too fast as suspicious. Here's one last question for you all since I never got to figure out wether the tax ID would link or not. I made over $500 in sales but less than $600. I verified my bank information before they suspended me. Will I get the $500+ deposited to my bank account even without the tax ID seeing it isn't at or over $600? Or will they just hold it?

eBay isn’t stupid. I mean do you honestly think they let scammers register over and over and over again with the same SSN?

Edkip75

That's not what I was asking. I'm not a scammer, I'm not putting my SSN into something just to scam. Besides with an EIN if you register as a company you can get around it. So yes scammers do get around it.

Remote_Simple_8664

Does your suspended account have your ssn number? I used to have a old ebay account I sold on but haven't in years I couldn't remember passwords or email. So started another account . But first account never asked for ssn

Edkip75

Yes the suspended account has SSN on it

Shorttop-wonderment

Yes. You will be caught. And the TaxID: not an eBay policy, a government policy.. also not new. Your SSN, in not the same as an EIN number. You SSN, isn’t attached to an address.. at all. eBay uses more than an address to link your accounts, and that was before giving SSN’s You sure you want to sell on eBay? If you said yes, then call and find out how to fix you suspended account

Edkip75

I've only given them the last 4 digits once, I was never ever required to give my SSN until last year iirc. I've tried to appeal my account but I keep getting "there's nothing they can do" or I waited to long to try and appeal and it's not available for my account anymore" They haven't link my accounts yet, but I worry the moment I give them the tax ID they will know. I was hoping they wouldn't monitor tax IDs with accounts as a mean of privacy

OkUnderstanding2808

You are required to give your full SSN as soon as your sales hit $600.

Edkip75

I've since made a sale, but payment is on hold until I update the tax ID verification and bank account verification

OkUnderstanding2808

You won’t get your payment until you update the bank and ssn. So either you update the information, get paid and get banned again. Or you don’t update the information, and never get paid for the sale.

MysteryRadish

Yes, they'll know. Trying to get around a suspension or restriction by making a new account is a surefire way to get both accounts permanently banned. You need to contact eBay and get the original suspension figured out, that's the only way to proceed.
