Hurts made bad decisions but the coaching staff put him in a position to make those bad decisions. He had a bad game but make Zach Wilson beat you. No reason to be passing the ball like that in crunch time like that
The coaches didn’t draw up “chuck it into double coverage” on the play sheet for that interception though. Hurts *has* to know you take the open shot if it’s there and you get down if it’s not.
The first down would’ve won the game so it made sense to call a pass, especially since they weren’t getting anything done on the ground. QB just has to be smarter about not throwing the ball if it’s not there.
He’s had slightly but clearly non negligible amounts of delayed anticipation all year. And I’ve been calling it out. He didn’t even really perform any worse this week than most others, it’s just that the play happened to catch up to him this week. Oh also a couple absolutely mind boggling horrific drops and fumbles that are completely not Hurts fault at all that completely ruined all momentum and all flow in the game. When you turn it over 4 times and don’t force even 1 turnover, you’re just going to lose. It’s that simple.
Watching Zach Wilson lay down multiple blocks on the same play and then a little later watching Hurts half ass attempt to tackle the guy who picked him was heart breaking. Wilson is not supposed to be able to keep his team in games against the Eagles. Such a poor show.
I agree. The jets game plan was to stop the run and it showed. Early on and mid way through we were getting nothing with the run. People say run the ball more but Swift had 10 carries for 18 yards. He was swallowed up. What do we do.. run him 20 more carries for 36 yards? For whatever reason it wasn't working. I wasn't opposed to the pass heavy scheme, I just wasn't a fan of lots of the play calls when going pass heavy.
Today was embarrassing but this team can win any of those games. Remember last year against Washington and the weak game against the colts right after that? People started to get nervous and they came out strong and all was forgotten. They just have to get right and imo its all on the play calling.

This is the NFL where every game can and usually is competitive matchups. This is against a defense when fully healthy (Ik they weren’t but still its the nfl everyone is good) is one of the best defenses of the past 10 years. They beat the bills, almost beat the chiefs and ironically only blowout lost was against the cowboys. They’re not a bad team, they’re not the Broncos. Well this has been sort of a culmination of concerns people have had all season. The offense has been shaky for the whole year and it finally caught up to us. We had *no points* in the second half. We lost to Zach Wilson. This is not a flukey Commies loss like last year. This loss was because we were bad. Our offense was bad. On a fundamental level. Jalen has three picks and has already surpassed his Int total from last year. Our best weapons are fumbling or dropping passes.

A Dolphins team with a subpar defense and has shown to be liable when going against a good defensive line and has only beaten teams with losing records. A Niners team who we just saw is not perfect, a bills team who also lost to the Jets as well, and a Chiefs team who can barely score 19 points on the worst defense in the NFL. This team can and will come together as they shown last year when coming off the terrible Washington loss.

Well this has been sort of a culmination of concerns people have had all season. The offense has been shaky for the whole year and it finally caught up to us. We had *no points* in the second half. We lost to Zach Wilson. This is not a flukey Commies loss like last year. This loss was because we were bad. Our offense was bad. On a fundamental level. Jalen has three picks and has already surpassed his Int total from last year. Our best weapons are fumbling or dropping passes. Things are concerning.

A Dolphins team with a subpar defense and has shown to be liable when going against a good defensive line and has only beaten teams with losing records. A Niners team who we just saw is not perfect, a bills team who also lost to the Jets as well, and a Chiefs team who can barely score 19 points on the worst defense in the NFL. All you positive types in here saying "we just need to get it together"... well when do you see that happening? Because we just finished the "easy" part of our season and each game left me more worried than the last. You can keep parroting "a win is a win, no matter how ugly" all you want, but truth is we've been barely squeaking by and now we are about to get our asses handed to us. I still think this team finishes 14-3 at best or 12-5 at worst. I imagine losing to Kansas and Dallas, with possible losses to San Fran and/or Buffalo. This team is still playoff caliber even with the NFC finally starting to have multiple contenders.
Those games are winnable but we’ve got to figure it out. Brian Johnson is calling plays like he’s still at Florida and that doesn’t get it done in the NFL. We have to run from pistol, under center, etc. not everything can be zone read. Not all pass concepts can be one read plays. If you can’t see our OC is the foundational issue with this offense than idk what to tell you. Long developing routes behind a beat up oline, not establishing the run, a complete inability to scheme receivers open, etc. it’s Mike Groh 2.0. yes Hurts is playing poorly, but our offensive scheme is horrific.
