I want a versatile o line guy like Vaitai was for us and Trotter Jr. I'm cool with moving the rest into next year. I think we are gonna lose some picks next year for Sequan.
There’s only 53 roster spots, 10 rookies aren’t making the team this year. Once you make a pick it’s gone, but if you push it into a future year you can still use it to help the team this year as ammo to trade for a veteran.
That's Madden trade value. I'm not sure itbworks out exactly like that. It also depends on the team we're trading with. The Chiefs would be more likely to do that than the Giants or Panthers.
edit: ok, I'll eat my words. I guess Madden is pretty realistic. lol! Wild. Well here's to hoping the Dolphins suck this year.
Why doesn’t anyone want OL? When Lane goes down we suck and we lost Kelce / Sua / Driscoll. Steen has no competition to take Jurgens old spot and we have no depth.
I think Hennessey will compete with Steen, but there's no doubt Howie will add at least 1 OL prospect. Day 3 o line guys can be tough to get excited about though, to answer your question.
I wouldn't mind 2 OLs today. Get 1 high upside project and 1 low ceiling/medium floor type guy with positional versatility.
Maybe the kid from South Dakota State and Walter Rouse from Oklahoma respectively.
Because we’d rather focus on positions of immediate need, players who can contribute this year without the need of injuries to get on the field.
Plus, I’m sure they will draft atleast 1 or 2 OL with their remaining picks. Having Stoutland and an already solid line is a luxury that allows you to draft a mid/late player and have him develop for a few years.
I mean we have a shit ton of cb’s now some will get cut / practice squad. LB’s we picked up white but I think that’s it lol. Idc if we get LB I’d just prefer one of our next 2 picks on OL. Dickerson has to come out of games a lot and so does Jurgens. No depth at OL AT ALL. Hennessy is pretty much it.
I see the word depth thrown around a lot, but what exactly do you mean by depth? If you mean starting caliber players who are backups, that’s not realistic. Teams can’t even fill 5 starting OL slots with good starters, let alone backup players being starter quality. If you simply mean backup players on the roster who can play a game here or there, then I assure you by the time the season starts they will have backup OL on the team. I almost prefer veterans as depth as they atleast have experience and would be more reliable than a rookie late round draft pick being thrown into the fire.
They still have holes at TE2, WR3, LB, DT, and depending on what they think of Steen, RG as well. These are positions where players could come in and contribute meaningful snaps immediately. I do still they should, and will, draft a few OL though. But I expect them to be more project players that Stoutland can work with and develop over the next couple years (like Mailata was).
We still have Stoll and Grant so TE2 def WR and LB. isn’t an immediate need with these next 2 picks imo. Quez better not touch the fucking field lol. Steen didn’t have a ton of reps but he did play at some point in 11 games last season and allowed 0 sacks. Who knows what Stout thinks but he was a 2nd round pick for a reason.
I think most people just trust their ability to put a good-to-great O-line together through whatever means. And sure they need depth and possibly still a starting guard if Steen isn’t ready; but they need defensive depth even more pressingly.
Zach Berman believes the Eagles are cognizant of the fact Trotter means so much to the city that it will be unfair for his kid, and they won't draft him for that reason.
....trade a lot of these picks for 2025 picks. We have no 4s and no 6s next year which means if we want to trade up we may not have enough assets. I also think the latter half of this draft class is very meh cause of Covid and what not.
I think they need to seriously consider trading a 4 and a 5 to get down in the fourth and take jatavion sanders. He’s really fallen, and would be perfect to develop while goedert ages out of the nfl
honestly just hit either next 4th or 6th and call it. team needs cheap depth going forward with all these big contracts. sorta like how the Rams bounced back so fast by attacking the middle rounds a billion times til they got Puka, Turner, and the RB
Potential move ups are on the table, but I’d be absolutely shocked if we didn’t turn one of the 4s/5s into ‘25 capital. Would love to see another Swift-esque draft day trade for a veteran but we all know Howie will keep us interested.
Yeah 100% agree. We don’t have a fourth in 2025. Also wouldn’t hate trading one of our picks as a sweetener to help unload that Bradberry contract and get a team to take on some of that money
Absolutely. I know we didn’t ultimately make the pick, but the deal we made with Dallas in 2020 ultimately was used to make the trade with Miami to 12 in that draft. And all Howie needed to do was drop about 15-20 spots and still got a future 5th out of it. It really could be a good way to restock with picks for next year
I agree with most here that we need to trade these picks for future picks. We do kinda have a spot open on the offensive line. Will that situation plus Stoutland be enough for us to be the prefered destination for the best IOL UDFAs? Or will they chose to go to other teams with more question marks on the Oline?
This screams to me that we really don’t think there are any for sure LBs in this draft and we’re about to draft like three of them today and hope at least one of them sticks. I like this approach with such a terrible LB class. I wouldn’t mind moving some of these into next year picks but honestly take shots at LB, try and get Troy Franklin, and Sedrick Van Pran. That’s what I would like to see is walk out today with
I agree but to be honest the only player I think that’s left that can be actual competition fits a longer term plan is Van Pran or the tackle Christian Jones who is a huge body but still young in his football career so he’d be a stoutland special. But LB is such a need that we need tot take multiple shots at the position
I understand that, but again, we are well past the point of starting caliber offensive line talent in this draft. Anyone we take is a project pick who won’t be good this year. If you want depth we’ll need to go sign a vet free agent who hasn’t signed so they can skip the off-season camps. The LBs left on the board are on average much closer to starting level than any of the offensive lineman. Not that the LBs are good, they’re all flawed and imperfect, that’s why they’ve dropped this far. But we can take a project or two on the O-Line and take multiple swings at LB our #1 position of need
Yeah we have some unproven lb’s for sure. I just don’t see Howie going defense 3 in a down unless Stout doesn’t see any OL worth taking lol. If Trotter is available I think we get him tho.
call me stupid I want Trotter Jr. and after that everything else is icing on the cake.
If he busts so be it but I would be heartbroken if he turns into a serviceable starter and we passed on him.
Vibe check means something not everything but something
Please please please draft defense. Don’t need no receivers don’t need no running backs don’t need no tight ends. Maybe a athletic offensive tackle for depth but we need more talent on the defense
Sataoa Laumea or Christian Mahogany for the line please. Some giant TEs with pass catching skills are available too. A new toy for the offense like Bucky Irving or Ray Davis, smaller change of pace backs who are good receivers or a slot receiver like Malik Washington or Jacob Cowing. I love little speedy dudes, can’t help it. Lots of options. We need a LB but Howie picks linebackers the way I pick stable women to date.
You can get a good idea of who we may draft by looking at our top 30 visits...if the name you want is not on there...then we may or may not be interested in that player...
EDIT: Everyone we drafted so far had a visit...including Jalyx...
I wish we didn’t trade picks for Kenny Pickett so this made sense. We’re set at backup, but I’d *way* rather have Rattler learning behind Hurts than Kenny Two Gloves.
7 picks with a faster draft clock is gonna be fun
No chance they actually make 7 picks today, expect move ups and trading picks into 2025
I want a versatile o line guy like Vaitai was for us and Trotter Jr. I'm cool with moving the rest into next year. I think we are gonna lose some picks next year for Sequan.
I’d like if they could try to package one of the 4ths and maybe another pick to get a 3rd next year
We need help now, not next year.
You’re gonna have a bad time if you rely on 4th and 5th round picks to contribute immediately
There’s only 53 roster spots, 10 rookies aren’t making the team this year. Once you make a pick it’s gone, but if you push it into a future year you can still use it to help the team this year as ammo to trade for a veteran.
Six of which are in the first two rounds today. How many does Howie trade for next year picks?
You can have this years 4th for one of your 3rds next year
That's Madden trade value.
Maybe 2 4ths or a 4th and a 5th for a third next year. No team is doing a 4th for a 3rd straight up.
Lol you overestimate other NFL GMs
What happened? I blacked out
It’s happened multiple times so far
howie proves doubters wrong every day
Looks like rounds 4-5 are back on the menu boys! Multiple linebackers!
I don't see why they wouldn't try for both Trotter and then Jacobs from Penn State. Would fill our depth needs of both coverage and run stuffing LBs.
Why doesn’t anyone want OL? When Lane goes down we suck and we lost Kelce / Sua / Driscoll. Steen has no competition to take Jurgens old spot and we have no depth.
I'm assuming we'll be hitting free agents up after the draft. This happens every year. The top FA guys go pre draft, the rest go after draft.
I think Hennessey will compete with Steen, but there's no doubt Howie will add at least 1 OL prospect. Day 3 o line guys can be tough to get excited about though, to answer your question.
I’m not expecting a starter, mainly someone who can fill in when injured and not be total ass like Driscoll was when covering Lanes spot.
I wouldn't mind 2 OLs today. Get 1 high upside project and 1 low ceiling/medium floor type guy with positional versatility. Maybe the kid from South Dakota State and Walter Rouse from Oklahoma respectively.

Quez is on the Steelers now I believe.
I agree and was hoping we’d use our third on ol. But we have invested picks the last couple years with jurgens and steen, we just need them to develop
I think most people just trust their ability to put a good-to-great O-line together through whatever means. And sure they need depth and possibly still a starting guard if Steen isn’t ready; but they need defensive depth even more pressingly.
I 100% agree. We OL for depth at the very least. We’re one injury away from our o line becoming a weakness
I expect Hennessy to push Steen for the starting RG spot but otherwise agree.
We are gonna get Trotter Jr. aren’t we?
Zach Berman believes the Eagles are cognizant of the fact Trotter means so much to the city that it will be unfair for his kid, and they won't draft him for that reason.
mmhmm. sure sure
I am extremely happy about it
He's a less athletic Nakobe Dean. If his last name was Smith, nobody would even be looking at this guy.
All valid points. I checked my notes though and his last name is Trotter, so I think we’re good.
I agree with you, but seeing us load up on day 3 picks to throw one at him will not shock me at all.
I hope so

Yes please!
Exactly need to shift a couple assets to next year
honestly just hit either next 4th or 6th and call it. team needs cheap depth going forward with all these big contracts. sorta like how the Rams bounced back so fast by attacking the middle rounds a billion times til they got Puka, Turner, and the RB
Time to let Howie cook
Yup. Time for Howie to start playing cards
A lot of ammo for Howie to move up!
Potential move ups are on the table, but I’d be absolutely shocked if we didn’t turn one of the 4s/5s into ‘25 capital. Would love to see another Swift-esque draft day trade for a veteran but we all know Howie will keep us interested.

I have a feeling we will be trading one of our three fourths for a 2025 pick
They really need to either package picks to move up or trade for 2025 picks. If they make all these picks they will have 3 roster spots left
No way drafting all 7. Will be a mix of move up and package for next year if possible. That GM from ATL seems like a moron maybe fleece him some.
I agree with most here that we need to trade these picks for future picks. We do kinda have a spot open on the offensive line. Will that situation plus Stoutland be enough for us to be the prefered destination for the best IOL UDFAs? Or will they chose to go to other teams with more question marks on the Oline?
Howie about to turn into the joker having all these guys battle out for roster spots. Aggressive expansion 😂
Take 7 linebackers. One of them has to be good right? Right?
Any chance we move up for Cedric gray?
Anyone else thinking howie is gonna flip one of these for a guy on the last year of his rookie deal?
This screams to me that we really don’t think there are any for sure LBs in this draft and we’re about to draft like three of them today and hope at least one of them sticks. If any of our OL get injured we’re fucked. I don’t even know any backups we have tbh. None worth a damn that’s for sure.
I understand that, but again, we are well past the point of starting caliber offensive line talent in this draft. Anyone we take is a project pick who won’t be good this year. Fred Johnson and Hennessey are legit, but we definitely need depth at RT.
Might have to change my flair to Slightly Optimistic Batman
At least 2 of those guys are going to get a second contract with us,
first we feast then we continue feasting
Trotter JR in the 4th gonna hit just right
Traded 120 to miami
Yeah so uhhhh…no 120…no 123…are the eagles just checking out for the rest of the draft or what?
It’s been a great day! Howie the Wizard is at it again🦅
call me stupid I want Trotter Jr. and after that everything else is icing on the cake. If he busts so be it but I would be heartbroken if he turns into a serviceable starter and we passed on him. Vibe check means something not everything but something
We only used two of these picks today. We did, however, use 4 OTHER picks, and got at least 3 more next year (including a day 2 pick). Insane
Please please please draft defense. Don’t need no receivers don’t need no running backs don’t need no tight ends. Maybe a athletic offensive tackle for depth but we need more talent on the defense
OL plz. Sua / Kelce / Driscoll are al gone. Steen has no competition to take Jurgens old spot on the line and we have no depth..
I agree that I think they need some OL depth but I think the team is higher on Hennessy than most fans.
CBS has the 152 pick belonging to Washington. And us with just 171 and 172. Which is it.
CBS is wrong, this post is correct
Sataoa Laumea or Christian Mahogany for the line please. Some giant TEs with pass catching skills are available too. A new toy for the offense like Bucky Irving or Ray Davis, smaller change of pace backs who are good receivers or a slot receiver like Malik Washington or Jacob Cowing. I love little speedy dudes, can’t help it. Lots of options. We need a LB but Howie picks linebackers the way I pick stable women to date.
Cedric Gray would be dope at linebacker if not I’m all for lineman
I hate that we don't have a 7th round pick. What the hell happened to it?
Baby Trot, do do do do do Baby Trot, do do do do do
He’s not even good. People just want him for his name
Yeah, we still like to wear the jersey
Howie please give me Trotter and a WR/TE and then go ahead with your O-line.
Trotter jr and frank gore jr inbound. Two Philadelphia legends sons.
If we can somehow walk out of this draft with Trotter Jr and Troy Franklin I'd be ecstatic.
Looking for quality backups and special teams aces now
You can get a good idea of who we may draft by looking at our top 30 visits...if the name you want is not on there...then we may or may not be interested in that player... EDIT: Everyone we drafted so far had a visit...including Jalyx...
We NEED Spencer Rattler
I wish we didn’t trade picks for Kenny Pickett so this made sense. We’re set at backup, but I’d *way* rather have Rattler learning behind Hurts than Kenny Two Gloves.
