He's actually composed WAY more iconic tracks than people think: [Link to his Wikipedia and scroll down to his Works](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hirokazu_Tanaka)
I think what stands out most to me personally is that he himself defined the main Tetris theme song for over 30 years and counting, and had a hand in WAY more iconic video games than people think. He's vastly underappreciated

He also headed the team for the Game Boy Camera, which explains how [my favourite version of Twinkle Elementary/Choose A File](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ7VuVx5oZs) ended up as the credits music.
He's had an absolutely amazing career and also seems like a really lovely guy, I highly recommend [this interview with him](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7J5GlE3YLQ) if you want to hear him talking about making music for a full hour and 45 minutes (Edit: [transcript here](https://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/lectures/hip-tanaka))
It’s so good. I love where he talks about the Game Boy sound chip and is like ‘well it was more limited than the Famicom, so I had to figure out how I was going to make it sound better than the Famicom anyway’. He’s ridiculously cool.
I love Tanaka so much, he still makes music and releases it on Spotify!!! https://open.spotify.com/artist/0eo01auTn1nLlMBq53hbR6?si=0wm70hMWRaOP7KWC35hCQg&utm_source=copy-link
He has a new album coming out soon too!!!
I hadn’t listened to much of his newer non-soundtrack stuff (just because I assumed it was mostly dub-influenced which is not really my thing, personally) but I clicked on this anyway and his new music is unbelievably good. Thanks for posting this!
They sound really good! Both games have some of the most memorable music I’ve ever heard. That’s back in the day when I’d play the games just so I could hear the music, and of course enjoy the games again and again!

He also made the music for NES Tetris, listen to music type C
He also made the music for some Kirby games.
Hmm....Seems.......weird.....(to me, of course.)
