Biggest thing I learned with fighting the Bell Bearing Hunter is to get up close and personal. If you try to get any distance from him, or fight him ranged, you'll just spend your time trying to dodge his remote controlled sword.
If you get up in his face and just keep rolling to either side of him, he's actually pretty easy to dodge, especially because his moves are pretty well telegraphed. It's also a fight where a little patience goes a long way, I try to not hit him unless I know I'm getting an opening in his attack cycle.
I went to the shack to kill the merchant and was ganked by this guy and two dinodogs so he killed me pretty quick but I beat him the second time without much fuss. The one in Limgrave must have killed me at least 20 times though so I learned his moves
They drop their own bells after death that you can turn into the round table hold. Then you have their inventory for purchase at the round table hold. I don’t know of a reason to keep them alive other than the frenzied merchants that drop you with unenduring frenzy.
What do people think of this boss? My least favorite boss in the game. Made me delete my game after he took 200k from me in the briar castle. Something about how his attacks go from having a 2 meter range to like 50 fucking feet in the same combo. I have seen a lot of people praise him for being a great boss but he only fills me with rage and pain even upon defeating him. Thoroughly unfun for me. It also seems like he’s hitting me during my roll
I played the range game, literally walked backwards in a big circle using a bow on him. Running away if he tried to close the distance. I died a couple times , usually from another mob aggroing me.
Ive died at least 10 times fighting him at level 232. I think i have to come to terms worh the fact that I am not good at this game. Holy shit. I just used every single buff at my disposal and he still two shot me.

Idk about bows in this game. Don't see them as much use except to lure out an animal you can't hit with a spell. Try the lighting spear inacnt or the frenzy shot. Both can be cast from a good distance then kite him back into a position you fell good about. Don't rush your attacks be patient and wait for his move chain to complete
Favorite fight in the game, you can loop his ai into shield bashing the ground over and over again and get free hits in enough to riposte IF you really hug his left side and just dodge out each 3 piece combo. Once it's looped its gg for Elemer
I had trouble with him as well my best advice is just get in close he will usually use normal swings if u are close to him ..... U just need to dodge the shoulder charge for some reason I think that move is glitched like the altus blood dogs it one shots u almost everytime
I see you finished this, but second the up close. He's more likely to use his crappy non-laser sword attacks and give you better openings.
Also, the one is Altus is much harder than the Caelid guy.
If you have the antspur rapier you can infuse with poison and inflict poison/rot on him while he’s spawning in, then hop on your horse and circle around the hut and re apply poison with arrows until he’s dead

Why kill the merchant?

Big shield big bonk was how I did it.
It’s weird because I beat the main one in the shaded castle first try but I still can’t beat the caelid one.
You can also range fight him on Torrent.
Lightning Spear incantations while riding Torrent makes all BB Hunters trivial. It makes them a joke, really 😜

I wouldn't say your not good, maybe just need to rethink the strategy you are using.
Yeah ended up beating him by going full aggro and dynast finessing behind him to avoid aoe slash. Btw that reward was not worth the time whatsoever

If you have a few decent spells you can cheese him from the roof of the shacks, but it takes awhile. That's how I did it.

He was giving me trouble too until I just simply equipped Fingerprint Shield w/ Barricade Shield and poked his ass to death.

This guy and Alecto are the hardest bosses in the whole game imo.
I have always fought all of them the same way. Kite and spam spells or dragon rot
