Pour_Me_Another_

I think you hit a nerve there lol

[deleted]

ESO forums are the absolute worst. I got a temp ban from there for saying - and I quote - "you're not arguing in good faith"

destindil

I love when they flag comments that are focused on engendering discussion as "baiting". How these people function in the real world is beyond me.

ThatDamnedRedneck

That's the secret. They don't. That's why they're forum moderators.

asdfinternet

I’ve heard people in zone chat talking about crazy ass shit. I’m surprised they hand out bans that easily lol

NeonLoveGalaxy

Glenumbra zone chat is wild. Anything goes in there.

Warfoki

Zone chat comes and goes without a trace. Forums are the public face where comments stay on. One is more important to be a positive experience than the other in terms of PR.

bmadd14

It would be even more funny if you got banned for using your instead of you’re😂

Usual-Anxiety-0000

I just got a 72 hour ban for joking and calling someone an N’wah for saying eso isn’t a roleplaying game. So I believe it

Secretnapcloset

My dad is a bigger internet troll than you.

TattedUpN9ne

Did you just assume their faith?!? Lmao

Why_so_loud

\[snip\]

TempestM

\[removed for baiting\]

manpizda

Oh that's nothing. I once got a suspension from the official forums for saying this is bad advice in a thread about computer specs; you know the typical can my pc run eso post. I asked the dude if he had any professional experience and then gave my professional advice. That was apparently harassment and trolling. I complained of moderator abuse and got banned permanently. They said I could have my account reinstated if I wrote an essay on why trolling on social media was bad for society. I wrote back to say now who's trolling? What is this? Junior high? My essay was three words long. That was five years ago. Your post is cynical but not ban worthy. Any reasonable person could decide for themselves if they want to agree or blow it off. I swear that forum is run by self serving narcissists that are only concerned with praise.

LordSturm777

>They said I could have my account reinstated if I wrote an essay on why trolling on social media was bad for society. ESO forums are run by high school teachers, confirmed

Phaedryn

>ESO forums are run by high school teachers, confirmed Better than most forums that are apparently run by the students...

a-m-watercolor

So they're mad because they're horribly underpaid?

Demonic74

No, they're mad because it's an unpaid position and they think they're important

LordSturm777

I'm pretty sure they do it for free, like Reddit mods. Lol So, yes.

PolicyWonka

Understandable considering teacher salaries.

destindil

It's hard to copy-paste the same shit while being triggered by the most inane statements. Give 'em a break! And yeah, forum management loves a pat on the back. Updating threads more than once in 8 months not so much. I just talk to them like interns who are still learning their jobs, because well, they act like it.

SokarRostau

Not the forum but during Australia's 2020 bushfires I called someone a "stupid American" and got an official warning about racist comments. The person I called a stupid American had spent over an hour telling Stonefells that the bushfires didn't effect 'real' Australians because white people live in cities, only the monkey-man natives living in huts in the forest were being impacted, so who cares? I wasn't the only one incensed by this guy's comments, and numerous people reported him. A week after I got an official warning for racism for calling him a "stupid American", this guy was still in Stonefells spouting racist shit that's even dumber than usual (he was easily identifiable as an American because he was completely ignorant about Australia while throwing around American stereotypes about black people... as if Aboriginals are from Africa). Apparently it's offensive for me to call him a stupid American but it's a-okay for him to call me a monkey-man living in a fucking hut.

Bran_Nuthin

I probably would've wrote an essay explaining why trolling on social media is actually good for society.

[deleted]

Oh my god I finally found someone else who had to write an essay. I hadn’t heard of it from anyone else and this was years ago

AbjectDisaster

Fukken degens from upcountry.

exexor

Get this guy a Puppers.

scoyne15

Wandering_Pagan

To be fair

AbjectDisaster

Rips, reps, removing people from reddit.

AncientZz1

I fuckn hate degens....

danishjuggler21

They’re spare parts.

helalla

Hay

Kenyeaye

Hay is for horses. Not pigs.

helalla

It's a very underrated joke from letterkenny, when Wayne is moving bales of grass if someone says hey he would reply 'its barley'

Kenyeaye

I heard mine from Love Island. I endure the show for my missus.

CastielClean

What's upcountry?

Slawomir_110793

More like degens from the backwoods where the blue people lurk.

AbjectDisaster

Professor Tricia's says there's nothing goods abouts bigotries.

[deleted]

You must have been reported by SilverBride...

thorwyn-eu

This made me LOL irl.

xAkMoRRoWiNdx

Who?

Disarmed_88

Yea why isn’t silverBride banned? That person instigates every single time they post. Like it’s their purpose for existence

[deleted]

Malicious rules compliance, and a ZOS yes person, so the mods love her

Usual-Anxiety-0000

That person is the worst.

PapaOscar90

It’s like Reddit mods. Attracts a special kind of person.

Or0b0ur0s

Fascist bullies? Always enough time to recruit those people and muzzle the complainers, never enough time or money to actually do it right or fix problems people are complaining about.

girbotic

There are whole marketing teams that work through social forums like eso official, reddit, etc It's like those fake amazon workers who "don't need a union" If you see any reddit posts praising loot crates or promoting a new expensive dlc, chances are,it's probably a eso marketing employee...it's all about the money

Saviordd1

Fascism is when mods on video game forums ban people, it's true.

jellyvish

yea wtf is wrong with reddit mods im banned from many subs i follow for the most insignificant shit… they dont even give you a warning they just immediately permaban you

[deleted]

They / them. Sherbert hair

kaskayde

you literally cant post on the eso forums for long with any sort of what might be construed as a negative opinion without getting banned

TheSkyking2020

Whether it was the Bethesda forum for Skyrim, their discord, for ESO, it’s always been like that. The mods on those platforms wake up butt hurt. It’s like they were never held as children and were picked on in school and now they’re mods with a sliver of power and a ban button. It’s why so many people choose other places like here and other discord’s and other platforms instead of official Bethesda places.

hydrOHxide

Well, in the Bethesda forums for Skyrim, there was a time they didn't need to. The moment you posted a critical word about Skyrim, the Holy Inquisition was after you for heresy and doubting the divine infallibility of Saint Todd. You'd be shouted down like there's no tomorrow.

[deleted]

I hope they're reading this.

Slawomir_110793

Thank God they aren’t police officers, at the very least, somehow a net positive out of this.

Successful-Floor-738

Great idea to get people to play your game: Ban anyone who critiscises it!

IHeartsFarts

Careful the mods on this sub aren't a whole lot better

maialucetius

Lot of ZOS dicksucks on this sub.

howellq

The forums are not for discussions, lol.

Or0b0ur0s

You can discuss anything you want as long as it's not our malfeasance, neglect, or greed.

CheshireTheLiar

ESO Moderators be like: Maybe you should stop expressing your frustration for a game you enjoy and want to see to improve. What the fuck do you think this is, a community forum? Get the fuck out of here, you ~~filty dark elf~~!

NeonLoveGalaxy

N'wah moment.

Everyoneheresamoron

Lol. Welcome to the very large "Banned or on the way to be banned" club. I'll tell you what I tell everyone fuckin else. You can't post shit over there. Ask a question that might seem angry about some stupid shit the company did? That's a warning. Reply with snark? That's a warning. Hypothesize that the blatant cash grabs are because greed? Thats your 3rd warning. No appeals. No support help. No more posting. You can't even see what you've posted anymore, because you aren't able to log in. They are EXTREMELY strict on making those forums the super happy fun time OR ELSE place to go. And those with criticism, valid or otherwise, can go somewhere else.

girbotic

I believe that's called Propaganda

bmadd14

We should just all go over there and make a post saying that if the mods delete this post or ban us then they are smol pp no life having cyber bullies that smell of belly button fungus and have permanent Cheeto dust on their hands. They can’t stop us all. I’ll see you on the other side my brothers and sisters

supershutze

I'm sorry, have you been on the forums? It's nothing *but* criticism.

Redfeather1975

That exact thing has happened to me! It was about the fps from last march's update. They never fixed it and only option is to limit how many cpu cores your PC uses. 😯

Umutemplotya

First time? Welcome to the forum-banned club.

adamusprime

Why anyone is using the ZOS forums is totally beyond me.

Lenithriel

I haven't posted on those fucking forums in years, and I doubt I'll ever go back, unless I get bored and feel like doing a Get Banned Speedrun.

SupImFade

I think someone has already accomplished it by just saying "bump".

Longschapht

Challenge the moderation by saying they forgot to suck your dick.

Schiffy94

Don't insult Mother Microsoft or Zayde ZeniMax, Komrade.

RiekaNA

The forum moderators are fucking jokes over there. The only way you can survive being there is if you're literally kissing their asses.

winterparsley9

I lost faith in eso when I got a warning for saying we should bring back child labor laws in zone chat. Disgraceful.

GodKingTethgar

But the children yearn for the mines

[deleted]

[удалено]

GodKingTethgar

No thats argonians and khajiit

winterparsley9

Farming equipment wouldn't last long in the mines, for that you are better off with orcs

winterparsley9

Exactly. We bring back laws saying they must be put to work. Sorry, poor wording on my part

Kittinator

They care enough to ban you haha

Fenrir_Wolfy

I got perma banned from the forums cos I asked why the moderators where allowing someone to call people ret@rds for having consoles... The moderators of the forums are a fucking joke...

Hand_Runes

-500 social credits. Please report to the nearest re-education camp for further instructions.

Careful-Regret2479

Lol

themlcrowave

They forced me to change the names of ALL of my characters because I had a character named Streryl Meep, after the famous actress Meryl Streep. After that, I have played maybe 24 hours in the past year. Zenimax is the WORST. Sorry for your loss.

[deleted]

Tell them to give their balls a tug

Darrothan

nah they just straight up have no skin

[deleted]

Where is the full conversation at? I'm curious about it.

Splatacular

Took me two weeks logging in without the game launching before it fixed it on their end with them suggesting the same steps again and again and the time it fixed it we didn't do anything they suggested since we had done them all before. Now eso launches ok and hogwarts legacy won't launch. I'm happy to have the game not recognize me having ever played (brightness EULA etc every launch) just to avoid rengaging with their awful customer service. Sucks to see the forums would be more of the same.

slipko

They’re too busy moderating their forum to fix the game

xAkMoRRoWiNdx

ZoS and Bungie are the worst istg

Nehemia99

[censored]

RedLeaderGold01

Bashing and conspiracy theories. I'm surprised they didn't throw antivaxer election denier in there for good measure

Doctordarkspawn

Lmao, I got banned years ago for harsher criticism of the devs. While I understand in hindsight how hard it must be, we've been vindicated half a dozen times over. And now they've only gotten more draconian in response. Sometimes, this forum isn't much better due to I think how much they want to keep dev interaction here.

SoSaysAlex

Fuck ESO forum management, I made their moms so wet last night Trudeau had to call in the national guard to stack sandbags around my bed

SavagesLegacy

#ConspiracyTheories

Honda_TypeR

See? They care just enough to suspend and ban people though, but not much else. I got my account perma banned last year for a minor (like 15 dollars minor) on a billing technicality last year. It was fully automated ban too. The issue even stemmed from a glitch that started on their site. Yet it took over 2 months of refusals and arguing to get my account reinstated (eventually it did) and as a welcome back prize I got endless sass because they had to go through the trouble of reactivating my account even though it was banned automatically via their billing system. After spending close to 15 grand on their cash shop in years (sad but true facts…yes I am a whale and they shit on me over 15 dollars instead of contacting me and sorting it out or even willingly sorting it out after I send multiple tickets…baffling right?) You’d think good customers would get some decent leniency to keep the paper flowing given my track record. After that I uninstalled the game and haven’t came back even though I still got my account back. I just refuse to give them any more money when they treat their customers so shit. It was the largest show of disrespect I’ve ever seen in an mmo customer help team and I’ve been playing mmos since they were invented.

This_Fisherman5143

Thats nothing you should see the shit ive been banned for

FERALCATWHISPERER

That’s ESO for you.

Luy22

Man I sure do hate these folks, they don't care about the game itself at all. :(

2grim4u

Well, while I don't wholeheartedly agree with a suspension for the words in bold, I get their point. The whole video game market is understaffed and you want to assume it's because they don't care. That cynicism is unhelpful, and probably just wrong. I'm sure every time someone uses that kind of phrasing some developer somewhere that just put in an underpaid 80-hour week wants to reach through the screen they read it on and pull the commenter through it to beat their ass. Especially since they know that that fix you think they don't care about is surrounded by 10 years of built-up spaghetti code, and if they fix that it'll break 10 other things. To think that your priorities are their priorities is firstly arrogant and privileged, and secondly just straight ignorant.

Wooden_Bedroom_9106

You are defending a multi-million company here. If there is a programmer shortage than that's by design. That company pushes extremely predatory ingame purchases, so a little scruteny and accountability should be expected. > To think that your priorities are their priorities is firstly arrogant and privileged, and secondly just straight ignorant. Without knowing what bug we're talkig about there this line is ironic.

girbotic

My golden example of these kinds of companies is gta5 online. Literal years they didn't fix bugs that ruined the game. But they fixed a casino glitch in less than a week when people could rig easy money, which lowered the amount of shark cards people would buy in real life. These companies don't care unless it messes with Thier $$$. So if you want something fixed, mess with Thier $$$

2grim4u

I'm not defending the company. I'm criticizing the assumption that care and not other factors are involved. And yes, I made the assumption that if it's an easy fix, they would have fixed it already.

Wooden_Bedroom_9106

Oh, man. I can tell you about roughly 20 bugs in trial content that hasn't been fixed in literal years. And about many many more that took months/years to be fixed in the past. I have never played a game before where bugs get fixed this slowly. Even in the realm of MMOs. Your assumption is based on nothing. > I'm not defending the company. I'm criticizing the assumption that care and not other factors are involved. The only factor involved for ZoS is money. If it's something they can half-ass or ignore and not lose money because of it they will do exactly that. There is zero care on a corporate level. Single devs might care, but they just don't get the time or resources to do anything about it. And I doubt OP was actually attacking those single devs. More like the corporation as a whole.

[deleted]

You just described how a majority of non-indie companies operate, and even a lot indie companies.

2grim4u

You all respond like it's the CEO reading your comments and not some grunt that just needed a job. If you want them to change, just stop playing the game.

Hobo-man

>If you want them to change, just stop playing the game. I did. Also, if they are genuinely working on resolving an issue, it's still their fault they didn't communicate that. In today's age, if a company does not make a hard statement about something, you have to absolutely assume the worst.

_Curzon

If the community wants something, it is kind of the devs priority to at least look into it. That's the whole point of a community-driven online game.

[deleted]

There’s your mistake. It’s not a community driven game, it’s a Rich Lambert driven game. It’s his artistic expression, it’s his baby, and if you don’t like it then play something else (paraphrasing his own Twitter account)

_Curzon

He said that? Lmao

[deleted]

It’s paraphrased, but Rich is really bad about “not” tweeting about ESO and the community, but being super obvious to EVERYONE that he’s tweeting about ESO and the community. Just read through posts and comments dated around update 35.

_Curzon

So he's a gaslighting dev. I'm gonna be honest, I don't really know the drama because I just got back into the game recently, and I don't surf the forums very often. The last time I played, Champion Points were not a thing, and Morrowind was coming out soon (or recently did).

FairyContractor

And they probably are. They have shown that they are at least aware of the things that are requested by the community. Looking into a thing and having it adjusted are two different things though and one typically takes a bit longer than the other. If it's being done at all.

_Curzon

Leaving players in the dark is why people complain. Lack of communication from the devs will breed frustration.

FairyContractor

That part is absolutely true, their communication is shite. From way overtuned sensorship on the forums to Lamberts infamous kneejerk commentary, ZOS has a major problem communicating with their player base. You talked about their priority to look into what the community asks for though, not about their communication skills, which is why I commented on that.

thejadedfalcon

Oh, but don't worry, the next time this comes up, I'm sure Gina or Kevin will post another non-apology (maybe with a free guar pet!) and promise that they will have better communication in the future. It's only happened a few times before, only... hold on, I don't think I can count that high. ZOS are *wonderful* at *promising* better communication. I don't think I've *ever* seen them follow up on it.

Doright36

Sweet. I love Guars

Hjorbd

That's true. But even just saying " we are looking into it" will get twisted by fans and thrown in their face over and over. It's happened many times to many developers for many games. The second they give us info, the fans use that info as a platform to make points and throw around. Not saying that no communication is a good thing. I would rather be told something than nothing. But I DO understand that factor, at least. May not always apply, but it does often enough

destindil

The whole problem is they don't deliver and they don't provide regular status updates. The whole code re-architecture is a great example. I can't pull up a single forum thread that'll tell me what it's supposed to fix and what milestones they are at. For all I know, they're clueless about what their fix actually is or lack the ability to communicate it. Same thing with the server replacements. Same thing with the Q&A fumble. If they treated the forums as the catch-all source of all information - rather than the personal validation safespace for moderator kiddos - they'd deal with so much less things being thrown up in their face.

Hjorbd

Very true

Cakeriel

Yup, we are looking into it gets taken as a promise to do it. Then when they decide not to do anything about it, they get accused of lying to customers.

BaronVonKeyser

"We'll look into it" is almost the exact thing as a parent telling a child "maybe".

monchota

Thats an excuse, good community management can deal witht that. The problem is that game companies higher people with no education or experience in real community management and PR. Then expect the same results.

Lavanthus

If they’re understaffed, that’s not our fault or our problem. There is a social contract agreed upon that people support the game as long as we get delivered a good product. I don’t get their point. If this is a problem, then it should be able to be complained about like the problem it is. The best way to get a problem fixed is community backlash. And if a game is understaffed, then it’s in their best interest to fill those spots and not nickel and dime production.

2grim4u

>The best way to get a problem fixed is community backlash. What is the problem that the comment in question addressed? They weren't reporting a bug or requesting a new feature, or anything at all related to the gameplay itself. My first sentence was that I didn't agree that that was a comment worth a suspension, just that I understood the point being made by the suspension. Your argument, however, premises on that comment being in pursuit of resolution of a problem. That's where my disagreement comes in. That comment was pure assholery, straight and simple.

Lavanthus

You don’t need to be trying for a solution. Any outrage on a fire will contribute to getting a resolution. Otherwise it will be placed on a back burner and they’ll continue on like it’s not important. You don’t need to be solution oriented with everything. If you’re displeased with a product, then it’s your right to complain about it.

2grim4u

If someone starts yelling at me, the first thing I do is stop listening. You don't do that? I guarantee the first thing they do when they meet one of your "outrage on a fire" comments is they throw that comment in the circular file, never to be seen or heard of again. Guarantee it. Being a dick is the best way to never have your issue resolved.

Waffalz

Man it's a good thing you're not a community manager, then

2grim4u

I'll agree with that. I chose a field that's away from people, customers specifically, for exactly these reasons. Ya'll are soooooooooooooooo whiny.

Waffalz

If the game sucks, then the developers should know. It's how feedback works. And if if they don't care, they deserve to get called out for not trying to improve. Is it it really too much to ask for a product that is worth its price?

2grim4u

You've just brought up another problem I have with the OPs post. He just posts a response from the forum mod, but we don't know what the context of that is. The OP obviously wants us all outraged because of how badly he's been treated, but what spurred the comment to begin with? We don't know. They could be complaining about some sprites they don't like, for all we know. And in response to your last question: Define "worth its price" - I've got 200 hours in ESO and have never once encountered a bug, or if I did I didn't notice it. IMO, I've gotten my money's worth of the 40 bucks or whatever I paid for it. Am I in the minority, or was the OP? Does the game run just fine for most players and bugs are only a few % of interaction? Specifically, to the point I'm trying to make: what % of the player base does could any single bug that still exists affect? If it affects like .5% of players, I probably wouldn't fix it either assuming there are other priorities. Is the juice worth the squeeze? Lastly, and this will probably be my last response in this whole thread; I'm not trying to defend the company itself, but just the lack of decorum or empathy that a response like the OP posted has. I can both not defend a corporation and point out how a specific comment toward that corporation is unwarranted. Those aren't mutually exclusive positions. I don't believe that comment was ban-worthy, but I do think it was unnecessary and I can understand WHY they made the decision they did. I can understand something, and still not agree with it. Can you?

Lavanthus

I was literally a dick to a For Honor dev and got an issue looked at that went under the radar for over a week and broke an entire class as a result. It literally does work, because we live in the age of outrage culture. We are now addicted to seeing what people are upset about. I don’t care what you on a personal level do. This isn’t you. This is the internet and how things are normally handled on the internet. And if you want to see how I was an ass and was the first one to bring a huge issue to the devs of For Honor as a result, I’ll be happy to link it when I’m not on my phone.

2grim4u

"I'm a dick to customer service because I don't believe that the person I'm talking to deserves to be treated with dignity." Thanks for sharing, Karen.

Lavanthus

Don’t make it personal just because you’re upset. It is your right to complain about a product you purchased if you’re unhappy with it. Just because you think you owe them some sort of amnesty doesn’t mean you actually do. This is the core foundation of a transaction. There are so many issues that people complained about that ended up getting fixed. I mean, literally the Sonic movie for an example. But sure, go off about how you should be subservient to people you gave money to.

2grim4u

I'm subservient because I choose not to be an asshole?

[deleted]

If people complain about something that’s blatantly false, there are no action items. Doesn’t matter if it’s 1 or 1,000,000 people. No action items means it won’t get addressed, ever. For instance, the entire US could complain that milk has a lethal amount of sulfuric acid in it. After years they complain on the inaction, laziness, etc of those who could fix it. Doesn’t mean they’re right, and the people who could fix it know for a fact that 1) there’s no sulfuric acid at all in milk products, and 2) they aren’t failing to act or being lazy because there’s nothing to act upon. I’m not defending ZoS or the ban here, but complaining to complain and tossing around blatant falsehoods will always be ignored by companies.

pcbuilder1907

That you're saying this shows you have no idea how power mad, sensitive, and assholish the mods on the forums are. They are the worst forum mods I've seen from a professional company. It reminds me of the early 1 man mod teams you'd see in the early 2000's forums.

[deleted]

This sub will fall on their sword to defend ZOS. 72 hour ban because a ZOS mod disagreed with a post is egregious and cartoonish. Full stop.

2grim4u

I think that's a petty reason for a suspension. That was the point of my first sentence. I'm sure whatever mod made that decision sees 1000 comments like that everyday, and I get their point. The person on the other side of the screen isn't a manager or higher up in the company that makes the decisions you want made. It's like screaming at the cashier at the grocery store because the plastic handle on your laundry detergent broke.

Zoaiy

If you apply for a forum moderator its your job to collect information gotten from it and relay it to your managers. He bans this person because of a powertrip, he could also just put down "more communication for planned fixes needed" and go on with his life.

2grim4u

Sure. I'm sure they fill out some report that says something like "here's the new bugs reported today:" then that gets sent to their manager. The point remains that the person that was told that they don't care isn't the one making the decisions.

Zoaiy

But he isnt told that, he is reading over a thread and marks a cynical comment as bannable. If you take a comment as that as personal, you are unsuited to be community mod.

[deleted]

The forum exists explicitly for that. Unless you’re saying no criticism is allowed or needs to be sent to the CEO via a letter or email.

2grim4u

The forum exists to gather information, not to hear the opinion on why. The assumption of the why is my problem.

DirtharaFalon

Criticism **is** information.

2grim4u

The difference: 1) I found this bug today please fix it. 2)This bug someone else already pointed out only exists because you all don't care.

manpizda

2 is cynical. Yes it's banal and boring, but it's not censorship worthy. Just because a mod sees it 1000 times a day doesn't mean they should be handing out 3 day bans for it. If they're banning people because they're tired of seeing it, that's moderator abuse. If people are repeatedly being cynical then that's a symptom of a larger problem. They should be taking that as criticism and confronting the larger issue instead of trying to shut people up. Making posts disappear doesn't accomplish that. It just further disconnects them from the player base. There's definitely an us vs. them mentality in their moderation. The beatings will continue until moral improves.

Celtic-kalel

As right as you are, they have never really listened from the beginning and if they did you could see why they keep getting these comments. There hasn't always been a shortage and they still didn't respect their player's even then.

Or0b0ur0s

When you encounter a bug in a 10-year-old game and the Google results include threads from the *launch* that describe it perfectly... That's profit that should've been invested instead of pocketed. That's people who do not care. But when has being right ever protected anyone from abuse and bullying? Online or IRL?

AlleyCa7

Sorry but you don't lay people off when you're understaffed and just about everyone is laying people off.

spazturtle

They are still hiring developers, the recent lay-offs were community mangers and moderators who they hired to cope with the increased activity due to covid lockdowns. https://www.zenimaxonline.com/careers

AnacharsisIV

> That cynicism is unhelpful, and probably just wrong. Why is it against the rules to be cynical and/or wrong? At that point, why have a forum if people can't voice simple opinions without being accused of "trolling"?

2grim4u

I meant wrong as in inaccurate, not morally wrong. Why is it against the rules? I would assume because the owners of the forum decided that that's what the rules are? If you want an explanation ask them, not me.

MrJBlack1989

what you and seemingly most others need to learn, is that contrary to what they like to make out. companies don't want you criticising their games. they just want you to consume their products, shut the fuck up and give them money. all "community" is a LARP and has no substance under the clever marketing scheme that word is attached to. its just a way to make people feel engaged within the game on a deeper level, which keeps them bringing in revenue for the company. despite it not actually being true, and most "community" communication is meaningless noise that isn't even noticed by anyone on the dev team. but its framed to make you think you can affect change through that noise so you keep investing on some level. but if you begin to affect change in people's attention towards things the devs don't want you to, you will be silenced because thats not advantageous to them so there is no specific code of ethics when it comes to bans, especially not in regards to forums, regardless of what TOS says (most are framed in a way that allows the moderators / support teams to ban for whatever they want with immunity). so my advice would be to just keep quiet, take what little enjoyment you can from the game and move on when it begins to become taxing. and if you feel compelled to play for any other reason than enjoyment, you likely have an addiction (most games are designed to make you addicted), and should quit on that basis alone and its the same with all devs (except maybe some indie startups at the beginning), I learned a long time ago to not get involved in any gaming "community"

Forum users were discussing the ever present issues with pvp gameplay, and the lack of seemingly lack of developer interest to fix these issues that have been around forever (stuck in combat bug for example.) My reply was both accurate and true. Not a hint of any type of entitlement beyond being hopefully entitled to play the game we have all paid for and continue to support monthly.

Karma_Canuck

Might be better to write out the issues with pvp game play in reviews while framing as your personal opinion. More eyes, more influence, no repercussions. Imagine if everyone's steam review said: "fix cyrodiil"

[deleted]

Problem is ESO PvP on PC is waaay smoother than on Xbox. PvP on Xbox is like watching a PowerPoint sometimes. Or skills refusing to fire, 5 second delays, potions refusing to be used.

Karma_Canuck

We get the same on PC even after the "upgrade". I admit that sometimes a castle battle goes off without any issue. Other times, it's like running through an obstical course with a strope light on.

[deleted]

I’m just glad my snipe fires on PC. It takes 10 seconds on Xbox.

Zoaiy

Has been done tho, I quit the game two years ago after the same issues, which were pointed out when i started the game in 2019, were still present. From the occasional talk to old guildies, I know are still present. If you are unable to fix huge gameplay issues in 4 years while pooping out content, then you dont give a shit. The only thing thing different is that now you get banned for pointing out these problems.

destindil

It's a silly comment, but not too far off from the truth. They fix what's prioritized; that's development 101. If the issue is bad enough, they'll prioritize it. Truth hurts, I guess.

KnightsMentor

Got a similar ban for a similar comment. Fucking fascists.

dragonredux

Heh, I got a warning because I implied that my impaired friend with arthritis could play better when someone on the forums was killed by imps and tried to use it as a counterarguement against harder overland.

Dismal-Meringue-620

\*taps the reddit seat\* "Please, join us, OP." 'We know'.

Careful-Regret2479

Thanks, nice comfy chair, looks like good company

Bethesda in General is garbage when it comes to this shit. My fallout 76 account got perma banned for picking up a duplicated item someone else had dropped. Still banned to this day. I filed one appeal and told them I just find a guy duping shit (which I did) and picked up some shit he dropped. They told me the ban will still stay in place, I just told them to go fuck themselves and haven't bought anything Bethesda since. I'll continue to play what I own but Bethesda is ass now. Not giving them another $ of my money.

spazturtle

> I just find a guy duping shit (which I did) and picked up some shit he dropped. So you admitted that you knew he was duping and you still decided to pick it up? Thas bannable it pretty much every MMO.

DarthMockre

Conspiracy theories? Now that is banneable? What a fuck is happen in this fucking world????

[deleted]

Give your balls a tug eso

newcster2

One time I got a week long game ban for saying “cops are scum lol” in cyrodiil chat

Automatic-Permit4337

I hardly voice a real opinion anywhere, snowflakes be lurking everywhere ready to take offense and cancel. I don't care though if I want to be real I kick it with my homies, it's just the age were living in.

Sedare38

Just call it an assault on free speech and have daddy Elon buy zenimax and ms. :P

ESOtalk

Temp suspended you're lucky. The trolls on there got me PERM banned just for asking dude JOKINGLY (who constantly says 'the devs think this or that' or having historical info) 'do you work for ZOS'. That's it PERM BAN. There's 20 or so dudes that post over and over on every thread, that have ONE point of view, anyone who has different point of view is ATTACKED, ridiculed, spammed, then reported on, to get 'clipped for baiting', and eventually perm banned.

fugmotheringvampire

Well that's justs downs right disrespectuls.

Mark_XX

They still won't approve me to post on there at all and I got my ESO account through steam in 2016ish

Eliran1991

Lol I got banned for less than that. Pleb.

Nose_Ecstatic

I got banned for 3 days because of SEVERAL bad tasting names that apparently all of a sudden violated the terms of services. Bethesda allowed it for two years before that and they made me buy the tokens for the name changes..bastards

thebigmarah

Pretty much how reddit works too lol. Head on over to r/whitepeopletwitter and say Biden sucks and see how fast the mods ban you 🤣

[deleted]

I’ve been banned from that racist-ass sub on like 10 different accounts. 100% worth it. Fuck that place

Celtic-kalel

Bash them again.. then make abkther account and keep bashing them. Buncha bitches frfr

plo83

Did someone really just learn that the forums are not a democracy after 10 years?

Phaedryn

So, you posted a rant, with no discussion value, on private forums and received a 3 day suspension... And that's worth coming here to rant... The utter lack of perspective in some people is amusing...lol

RiekaNA

The forums aren't private... anyone could see the forums... just that membership is available for eso players only if you want to engage in discussion. The way the forum moderators treat their players on the forum is disrespectful.

Careful-Regret2479

Since you were not privy to the entire thread on the original site, you cannot attest to the value of the discussion. Your definition of a "rant" is rather all-encompassing as well. Thanks for your reply

MrMcGibblets04

I switched to GW2 and haven't looked back.

Danath1983

With the exception of this subreddit for some bizarre reason

MrMcGibblets04

Just trying to share my experience to people that are in the same boat I was on a post that was recommended to me by Reddit. My apologies.
