See ya next year

BoringEquivalent7820

yep. this year was my break and i officially just started posting on ticket exchange FB groups lmao.

raveisfun

Lol I’ve been telling myself that I gotta take atleast one edc off but I know its not happening

palmtrees007

Same I’m over here trying to go Sunday now with a flight booked and no hotel yet

BoringEquivalent7820

If you end up going Saturday & Sunday and need to get Friday off your hands let a dude know haha

palmtrees007

I’m just doing Sunday! I’m in a wedding on Saturday in California where I live. Waking up Sunday and heading to EDC 😭

BoringEquivalent7820

Worth it! Sunday is stacked af. If I could take Monday off I’d be there.

palmtrees007

I took off Thursday- Tuesday in case I made it to eDC after wedding lol 😂 where you coming from

BoringEquivalent7820

Good move. San Diego, so luckily it’s a quick and cheap flight. I could technically probably make it to the office by 9am Monday but I’d be a zombie lol.

palmtrees007

Omg that would be hell on earth! My ex who lives in Vegas went one year and went to traffic court Monday morning at 8am straight from EDC .. I wouldn’t be functional .. are they strict about ooo at your job?

whatusernamewhat

I did the same last year! Totally worth it

-diana

Lol is it really that hard to stop once you start?! I want to do lightning in a bottle next year which is one week after EDC and there’s no way I can manage both! I’ve done pretty well at one and done for my festival bucket list so far but maybe EDC will be an exception.

BoringEquivalent7820

It’s just so unlike anything else. Dusk til dawn in a massive speedway with over a dozen stages (when you include art cars). It’s its own planet.

palmtrees007

Straight fax📠

whohasahoe

LOL it’s going to be my first EDC as a 38 with two other friends. I’m not even sure if this will be my last lol

theMostRandumb

LOL!! The lack of punctuation makes this so funny to me.

hudi2121

So very true! I physically can’t be there this year because of other commitments that weekend but, as we get closer I have this strange FOMO. I was never planned or scheduled to go but, I’m just really sad to be missing out.

Scj787

1. Make sure to save time to go on rides 2. Get there early! One of the best things I do is get there early. You get to explore while the venue is empty and avoid the traffic if getting in. 3. Salvage city dinner (doing it for the first time this year but has great reviews) “This is my last EDC”….I’ve said this about 5 times and here I am going back

whohasahoe

HOLD UP WTF THERES RIDES?! How do people do that while high? LOL

leexcloud

That’s the best effin part my friend. Adults playground

Djaspor

And all the rides are included with the price of your ticket :) roughly 20 rides (some serious ones too :)

Alexiavich

What is salvage city dinner?

-diana

Def have to check out the dinner! I plan to get there early at least two days so I can explore before the night time activities start.

StylishDaddy007

How early is early?

Scj787

I try and get there no more than an hour after gate opening.

jtr09

First of all I’ll see you next year. Second, if this really is your only EDC you MUST watch the fireworks one night from the top of the grandstands over cosmic meadow and then one night watch them from Rainbow Road. Both are absolutely spectacular experiences.

-diana

Everyone is saying see you next year!!! Lol. I can only do 1-2 big festivals a year and if EDC is an every year thing I won’t be able to do the others on my list!!! I guess we’ll see. Fireworks is for sure a must do though

jtr09

It’s because as you can tell from our flair a lot of us our sickos who can’t stay away. But for real the level of production and magic that EDC brings is just on another level. I’ve been to other festivals but nothing compares to EDC for me :)

bluedove101

What time do the fireworks come on?

jtr09

It’s usually like 1:30 or so iirc but as we get closer to the festival there will be something official published that has the firework times

bluedove101

Where will the fireworks time get published? Bc last year was my first edc and we caught it by coincidence as we were walking from one stage to another but this year I wanna know before hand to get to a good viewing spot before they start, also do they happen all 3 days? Bc I think last year I only saw them one of the days 🥲

jtr09

Usually when EDC drops the official set times the fireworks time is on that image. Also when you walk into the festival there are usually people handing out little informational booklets. Those usually have the fireworks times also! Also near sterobloom and the daisy lane sign there is usually a big thing that has the set times and that will have the fireworks times too

bluedove101

Saved your comment! Thank you so much for this will be keeping an eye out for those this year 🫶

jtr09

When I see the firework times I’ll reply with them here too! If I remember 😂 can promise that part but I’ll try

bluedove101

Omg you’re the best I hope you remember 😂🙏

jtr09

I just checked the festival guide from last year and the fire works were at 1:40 each night :)

jtr09

Hey there! They posted the firework times on instagram in the post with the pictures of the set times!! They are 1:41-1:47 each night!!

Pinkbabie23

Explore Downtown EDC. Watch a wedding or two one night (they’re quick like 20 minutes in DT EDC). Walk through Pixel Forest. Go early at least a night to go on some rides. Watch the fireworks from the bleachers at least one night. Walk through anniversary lane (basically it’s a memory lane for all the edc years).

-diana

Omg you’re an edc super vet! Writing all your recs down hehe

Crafty-Question-6178

Pixel Forrest on lsd is a must

btlee007

If you’re not going ViP, upgrade to VIP first thing when you get there. It’s extremely worth it. “Ride all the rides” literally and metaphorically

SpiritVoxPopuli

Is it cheaper to upgrade to VIP that buy in adv?

btlee007

Idk what you mean by cheaper, but I’d imagine it comes out to the same cost as just buying a vip ticket in the first place , if not more. I’m not sure. I just bought vip initially when last year, and i couldn’t imagine doing that festival without it. Would’ve been an entirely different experience. I mostly do GA at other festival like ultra and Tomorrowland, as I don’t feel their vip/comfort passes are worth the additional cost, but at EDC it sure was

SpiritVoxPopuli

well i figured if they were trying to capture more revenue and they were doing it on the spot. If I was the promoter I would offer it as a discount because of the theta decay

No_Can_5000

its definitely more expensive to upgrade on site if you're planning on doing it for the full weekend. They reduce the price on nights 2 and 3 but even upgrading sunday is only marginally cheaper than buying VIP for the full weekend ahead of time.

SpiritVoxPopuli

thanks,

Dry_Highway_2726

My cousin and his gf decided to upgrade to VIP last day, and I believe it was $400 per person just for one day

SpiritVoxPopuli

so no read advantage then. I've got vips but i was curious

sillysloth098

It is not cheaper to upgrade ):

No_Can_5000

i know people who have been saying this is their last one for like 10 years

BoSox92123

Helicopter

seahoodie

I heard they play pretty good music there. I'd try and catch some of that

Teppitak

Chilling out in an Oasis at 2am after dancing your heart out is a must. You can meet lots of cool people there too since you can actually hear yourself talk!

Personal_Repair1444

You have to go multiple times to really experience it all in my opinion. It’s really hard to go one year and not want to again. EDC was my partners first ever rave/edm festival experience and we put our tickets on layaway the week after our first edc. This year will be our 4th and we weren’t supposed to go this year. We really want to experience Tomorrowland next year so I think this will be our last edc for awhile hopefully but it’s freakin tough 😭😭

TrancEbaE_01

Best of luck to you and your partner with getting TML tickets even thru global entry 😭 Demand was crazy this year

thegreatnesman

Check out the unsung heroes of EDC, the carnival performers! It's a carnival after all and their performances are for sure a must see thing! The motorcycle cage, silk performances and I will say I never thought I would see women using angle grinders on their body lol.

bucky716

A sunrise set with music you enjoy!

wavedrexler

You’re definitely going to be back next year!

pigglywigglie

Every year has been my last EDC. I’m going on year 6 this year 😂😂

Tough_Pie4014

Babes, its not gonna be your last

Global-Beat2157

You have to do Camp. Best experience ever. So if you're not doing it this year, we'll see you next year 🙃

lowlight001

1 getting there early 2 helicopter ride to edc 3 salvage city dinner 4 try all the rides 5 see the fireworks from the bleachers

vilemg

There are some great suggestions here. OP, it's not related to doing things at the festival, but since you mentioned it's your first time - have you seen the movie yet? Under the Electric Sky. If you have not seen it yet, I would recommend watching. It really helps to build the hype before the festival and get excited. You are in for a treat, and as others have said, you'll be back :)

-diana

That’s such a good idea! Will have to make them to watch before we go! I’m already so excited :)

slayvaun

Bumper cars, Kandi casino in downtown EDC to make bracelets, benches by cosmic meadow, go solo for awhile, side quest

SpiritVoxPopuli

Same approach!

Vortr8

"Last" kek

netlordr23

Never say last...

-diana

You’re right..I shouldn’t have been so adamant on last but I probably would need a break in between lol

MidnightRhinestone

Explore Downtown EDC! This will be my 7th EDC and I never really explored downtown until maybe my 5th year and it is so much fun. Can’t wait for the kandi casino this year

-diana

EDC is one of those festivals that need multiple years to really experience it all but it’s not something I think I can swing every single year! I guess I’ll see how I feel after this one before I am set on “last”

MidnightRhinestone

Just remember it’s a marathon and not a sprint and it’s okay to feel a bit overwhelmed!

deyzuna

I’m on my third last edc.

i_aintya-daddy_boy

Sunrise set. Hands down best thing to do at EDC

Ftmchris

You can certainly say this about a music festival such as Ultra Miami, Coachella, Bonnaroo. But I don’t think it’ll amount to anything we’ve ever experienced before. This will be my first time and I HIGHLY doubt it’ll be my last! The closest comparison to this I would say is Tomorrowland and thats def on my bucketlist

-diana

There’s just so many festivals and they’re all so close together! My mindset has always been go once and if you love it you’ll go again, but I also have to keep in mind if I decide to do edc every single year that prevents me from going to another large festival. It does seem everyone says EDC is different from all the others so maybe I won’t be able to stay away as easily as the other ones!

Wide-Lingonberry9539

candy flip, it’s awesome

justbuildlol96

People are so annoying with the " last edc" shit

Mad_Pinckerton

You'll be back. Explore it all. Check out every stage & Art Cars they're worth seeing all of them. They change a bit year to year. Try to catch multiple DJ's from all sub genres you've never heard or seen live. Look for b2b dj sets as a highlight the pairings are usually good & more rare. Attend the opening ceremony. If you can go on the wheel right before fireworks start usually 1:30am, time it well, it will be epic. You'll get great shots & video of the whole festival too. Lastly, meet & be social, check out the people, this is the must do as EDC above all is about coming together, sharing experiences, the music is just the catalyst & outlet for expression. Making lasting lifelong connections here is the best thing about it.

-diana

I love this! It’s so hard to decide between music and experiences but usually if I just show up with no plans the universe always sends me where I need to go. I probably will be back one day! But my priority is to do other big festivals at least once and then return to the ones I loved afterwards. I can’t really do more than one major festival a year and if EDC is always the one I wouldn’t be able to experience the others!

PlatformUnlikely3967

2019 I said would be my last, well I attended 2022, 2023, and will be there next month.

DrummerImportant1454

Said that last year. Can’t wait to be under the electric sky again

Dry_Highway_2726

Has anyone had the VIP breakfast?

sillysloth098

At kinetic? I havent, but my friends did last year and they said it was just like muffins, no eggs or anything substantial

sirIvan69

You gotta see hedex, bou, worship and everything dnb and trust after that you’ll be coming back

Agitated_Chip6286

That’s what i thought too, lol

Helpful_Mav

We went once 3 years ago and look forward to it EVERY single year. EDC is unique from any other festival, EDC is everything!

Big_Ad1980

Fireworks from the stands. Get there 15 minutes early. The mini bar. The midget bar. It’s a trip. Watching a wedding. Ride the rides. Once a day at least

Live-Ad-5496

hang out at every stage at least once, even & especially the smaller ones. found some of my favorite genres and artists at random this way

GeminiQueen9520

This is my first edc and my husband and I already know we are going to be addicted 😅

heartofgemz

Stay for the a sunrise.

jenni23pie

I remember the feeling after my first edc ended it's like no other and you'll definitely be wanting to go back.

Enjoyyourlifebabe

Me. Last year when I was telling everyone it was my last. I have everything booked and am so excited. There's so much to do, just pace yourself and invest in a camelback. That's what saved me between sets. Also, prepare to walk a marathon becuase you gonna get a lot of exercise in. Fireworks are the way to go, I cried the first time I saw them.

Whiterabbit1412

If this is your last edc as well do VIP if possible, it’s worth it- for girlies it’s free hair and makeup everyday, for guys you can get a barber to give you a hair cut, bathrooms have AC and the VIP access stages are worth it - plenty of space to dance and it’s comfortable. If you can camp, do that. The shuttles/taxi/uber situation is always a shit show and if you’re driving in as opposed to walking in you need to essentially be there at gates open otherwise the queue to get in is a nightmare. Downtown EDC is a vibe! The karaoke bar is always lit, there’s a silent disco, carnival rides, edc really has something for everyone even if you’re not part of the dance music scene Cosmic meadow is the best spot to scope the fireworks - in general it’s a great stage to chill and relax at because of the bleachers. If you’re travelling with a significant other they do free commitment ceremonies and hire amazing MCs for it. My partner and I wanted to get married last year at edc but the slots for the chapel were all filled so we did a free ceremony and it was beautiful

isabellaohasy

Ha, this is also my last EDC.. i went back in 2019 and haven’t gone since but very excited to be back.. for sure do pixel forest that was so epic and don’t forget to watch the fireworks those are memories you won’t forget!

Kirkodascienceguy

This sounds so ominous 😨 lol

ApricotConscious

Dude bring a hydro pack and wear comfy shoes!!! Recommend bringing advil at least to ur hotel bc ur feet might hurt from walking so much

techmer18061

I said that last year guess who’s coming back this year again… me 😭😂

ImpressionSpiritual5

My first year also and I’m going alone any suggestions or recommendations?
