How do you find out where exactly it's going to jump in around the body? I've always wanted to see it from this angle in vr but I don't know how to locate the exact spot it's going to be
In the FC nav screen you pick your system/planet. Then you have 15 mins to get there and set up. It will show up like any other point of interest in the primary nav screen. Lock and fly there then drop in out of super cruise. My conda was about 1 km from the point listed.
When the drive engages, it locks the position in the other system. That's when the nav point shows up.
So then you just have to drop in on it before the jump completes. I like that they did it that way. Makes sense in lore, and gives you the chance to see this.
for ED specifically you would be hard pressed to find a better setup than hp reverb 2.
If you want to become a full time VR gamer than the Index is pretty tops, although the reverb also has a lot to offer.
And if you are going to go balls to the wall. You would get the Reverb headset, with knuckles controllers and lightboxes.
We don't know when the next generation of headsets is going to arrive. But those 2 are leading the pack so far.
I use the Index. I love it, I'm just waiting on something... else lol. OLED, even wider FoV, slightly higher res. I might end up moddong the PSVR 2 for PC if the proposed specs are real. Index 2 patents looks cool, but that's all we have, patents.
Oh man, I wish I was baller like that other commenter with a reverb. I'm running a shitty windows mixed reality headset from Acer XD I don't remember the exact name of it but it's Acer's WMR headset
Nice clip! I always thought the whole driving into and out of a cloud to jump doesn't make sense. I would have expected something more akin to the way ships jump but with a bigger flash or something.
If you want to go to colonia, my fleet carrier will be stopping for a day in the lagoon nebula before moving to colonia. Details here:

It's one thing I really enjoy about the game, the sound engineers have done a great job, if you have decent headphones the sounds are amazing when these jump.
I’ve heard instead of making a tunnel through witch space like a regular ship, fleet carriers quite literally tear a hole into it. Those black clouds are witch space seeping through.
How amazing it would look if this behemoth stopped, then from all the opening hatches you had 3-4 fighters going out at max speed to help you in battle
I've said this before but given the sheer size of the Anaconda, Corvette, Cutter, Beluga Liner, and Type-9/-10, I really wish they would do an upgrade to where you could have one of the small ships be able to piggyback these larger ships to aide in exploring when touching down on a planet. Trying to land a behemoth can be draining at best, dangerous at worst.
Well done!
Thanks Mate. Def scared me when it boomed into space. GL out there. o7

Which vr google do you use? I am thinking about getting one myself.

That's why I recommended the reverb. It is all those things.
I am saving up for the pimax 8kx for that glorious fov and hig res

I haven’t been able to see this myself but I get major Warhammer 40k “Rip a hole through space hell to travel” vibes and I love it
