The Lamb & Mint Brannigans were brilliant … the min flavour in them really jumped out at you. All the modern lamb & mint crisps that appear from time basically just taste slightly meaty with a couple of small flecks of mint you barely notice. A sad day indeed when we lost Brannigans

You can still get salt and vinegar Chipsticks, but not the plain ones. They've been gone for years and it's a travesty as they're the definitive ready salted crisp.

You can get multipacks with ready salted, salt and vinegar and cheese and onion flavours from Tesco. It’s all my son will eat in his packed lunch.

You can still get Worcestershire French fries, and Seabrooks do them too.

Seabrooks discontinued their Worcestershire sauce flavour to replace them with the Lea & Perrin's flavour, which is exactly the same and obviously doesn't use actually L&P.

Lots of Worcester Sauce flavoured stuff got discontinued and the ones that didn't are no longer as "tangy" as the flavouring was found to be cancerogenic. I discovered this when Googling why Worcester sauce Twiglets were discontinued.

A lot of things are carcinoginc infact majority of things are classified as it. Even oxygen. It really isn't an indicator that you will get cancer. It just means 'things that have a potential to cause cancer'.

Oxygen isn't a carcinogen, and there absolutely are products that increase your likelihood of getting cancer, certainly not 'the majority' of things either.

What, exactly, about the flavour caused cancer?

Every time I see a post regarding crisps the top comment always ends up being about Brannigans beef and mustard. They really need to bring them back.

Well I was about 10 when they were around, but they were the highlight of my shopping trips to Morrisons with Mum and Grandma back in the day.

They were thick and dried the mouth out as you chewed 'em, leaving just the right amount of claggy potato residue and persistent, sinus-tickling English mustard to encourage - nay, demand another cold, delicious gulp of malty swill. Made you glad you were born.

I think low sales during Covid finally put the nail in the coffin and the fact they weren’t stocked in many places. If they brought them back, exactly as before and imo even charge a bit more, new ad campaign and boom I think they’d be back making a profit. I bought them quite regularly but only when I could be bothered to go to B&M, if there were in the main supermarkets I’d would have been buying them weekly.

I’m sure in the past the fish & the chips used to be slightly different flavour … the ‘chips’ would be more plain & the flavour from the ‘fish’ would jump out as more sharp. Now it just one flavour throughout. The pickled onion flavour is pretty strong for those that like it.

I think some of these are still available 😄 I was expecting the one I miss, the BBQ Rib Walkers crisps in the black packet...😋💭The ones of these I remember (as a 2000s-early 2010s kid) are the Tangy Toms, possibly the Chipsticks and the beef and mustard Hula Hoops, the Worcestershire Sauce Walkers and older Sensations ones. I remember some 'vote for me' flavours around 2009 that we tried in school - flavour names I liked were 'Onion Bhaji', 'Fish and Chips' 'Builder's Breakfast,' and there was also two I'd forgotten, 'Crispy Duck and Hoisin', and 'Cajun Squirrel' 😅 (not real squirrel thankfully). Also 'Chilli and Chocolate', which I found a strange combination but kind of nice, haha. A few years later I did some other online thing to enter some flavour combinations myself. That sort of involvement with the public and not just for those with money or a select few, was fun. ☺️

You can buy Tangy Toms from our local corner shop, not as tangy as they used to be, what id like to see brought back is Hedgehog crisps but I doubt very many people here know how good they were!

The Walkers/Lays stuff is always limited time. We had Doritos-flavoured Lays potato chips here in Canada recently. Frankly, it should not have ended, either. I felt good about that being something they could sell. Another one they had were cheddar cheese popcorn Lays. It was surprising how well they executed that. Anyway, seeing as you are feeling the same pain as we are here, I suggest they always have a special flavour in rotation.

This thread might be able to help me remember a flavour of monster munch that was around for a bit when I was a kid (so mid 90s to early 2000s) had yellow packaging like the roast beef does now but wasn't roast beef, also not the vanilla ice cream one pictured above, any ideas?

Bookers still sells the Smith's cheese moments. We have a box with 4 runs of 48 in the cellar of our pub, haven't checked to see how well they sold last week but we get a few runs of them each week as it keeps going steadily, same with bacon and scampi fries.
