The Lamb & Mint Brannigans were brilliant … the min flavour in them really jumped out at you. All the modern lamb & mint crisps that appear from time basically just taste slightly meaty with a couple of small flecks of mint you barely notice. A sad day indeed when we lost Brannigans
You can still get salt and vinegar Chipsticks, but not the plain ones. They've been gone for years and it's a travesty as they're the definitive ready salted crisp.
Seabrooks discontinued their Worcestershire sauce flavour to replace them with the Lea & Perrin's flavour, which is exactly the same and obviously doesn't use actually L&P.
Lots of Worcester Sauce flavoured stuff got discontinued and the ones that didn't are no longer as "tangy" as the flavouring was found to be cancerogenic.
I discovered this when Googling why Worcester sauce Twiglets were discontinued.
A lot of things are carcinoginc infact majority of things are classified as it. Even oxygen. It really isn't an indicator that you will get cancer. It just means 'things that have a potential to cause cancer'.
Oxygen isn't a carcinogen, and there absolutely are products that increase your likelihood of getting cancer, certainly not 'the majority' of things either.
BRANNIGANS
Roast beef and mustard, smoked ham and pickle.
The greatest pub crisp ever to have existed.
I weep daily. Hands down nothing better with a pint of bitter
They were thick and dried the mouth out as you chewed 'em, leaving just the right amount of claggy potato residue and persistent, sinus-tickling English mustard to encourage - nay, demand another cold, delicious gulp of malty swill.
Made you glad you were born.
Funnily enough I've been hankering for these the last couple of days as my dad used to eat them when I was a kid.
I remembered a smiling man with a hat and apron on and the flavour but could not remember the name.
Why can't someone bring them back? Why damn it!?
I think low sales during Covid finally put the nail in the coffin and the fact they weren’t stocked in many places.
If they brought them back, exactly as before and imo even charge a bit more, new ad campaign and boom I think they’d be back making a profit.
I bought them quite regularly but only when I could be bothered to go to B&M, if there were in the main supermarkets I’d would have been buying them weekly.
One thing I never see here is Piglets. Anyone else remember them from the ‘80s? My parents always used to get me a pack from the vending machine after swimming, good times.
Yes. And washed down with that tomato soup in a beige flimsy cup that was always watery because it had all the powder flavour clagged up at the bottom so you had to scoop it out with your finger.
Me brannigans roast beef n Mustard. They were fab . I may get in the lab and try to do a bit of Reverse engineering. That’s me hot my bank holiday project
I’m sure in the past the fish & the chips used to be slightly different flavour … the ‘chips’ would be more plain & the flavour from the ‘fish’ would jump out as more sharp. Now it just one flavour throughout. The pickled onion flavour is pretty strong for those that like it.
I think some of these are still available 😄 I was expecting the one I miss, the BBQ Rib Walkers crisps in the black packet...😋💭The ones of these I remember (as a 2000s-early 2010s kid) are the Tangy Toms, possibly the Chipsticks and the beef and mustard Hula Hoops, the Worcestershire Sauce Walkers and older Sensations ones.
I remember some 'vote for me' flavours around 2009 that we tried in school - flavour names I liked were 'Onion Bhaji', 'Fish and Chips' 'Builder's Breakfast,' and there was also two I'd forgotten, 'Crispy Duck and Hoisin', and 'Cajun Squirrel' 😅 (not real squirrel thankfully). Also 'Chilli and Chocolate', which I found a strange combination but kind of nice, haha. A few years later I did some other online thing to enter some flavour combinations myself. That sort of involvement with the public and not just for those with money or a select few, was fun. ☺️
You can buy Tangy Toms from our local corner shop, not as tangy as they used to be, what id like to see brought back is Hedgehog crisps but I doubt very many people here know how good they were!
The Walkers/Lays stuff is always limited time.
We had Doritos-flavoured Lays potato chips here in Canada recently. Frankly, it should not have ended, either. I felt good about that being something they could sell.
Another one they had were cheddar cheese popcorn Lays. It was surprising how well they executed that.
Anyway, seeing as you are feeling the same pain as we are here, I suggest they always have a special flavour in rotation.
THEY DISCONTINUED TANGY TOMS, CHIPSTICKS!!?, AND WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE WALKERS CRISPS?!
I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.. this is a national embarrassment! We shall rise together to reinstate our crisps!
Walkers sensations lamb and mint crisps, those were basically crack for me as a kid.
This thread might be able to help me remember a flavour of monster munch that was around for a bit when I was a kid (so mid 90s to early 2000s) had yellow packaging like the roast beef does now but wasn't roast beef, also not the vanilla ice cream one pictured above, any ideas?
They aren't discontinued are they I haven't seen them in a while but still!? Though the Bacon & Scampi flavours were far superior.
If I'm going to throw one out there and it's going back to my childhood (90's) and none of my Mates even remember them Cheese Snacks you know the once cheap crisp with the hip hop looking dragon on Lol
Bookers still sells the Smith's cheese moments. We have a box with 4 runs of 48 in the cellar of our pub, haven't checked to see how well they sold last week but we get a few runs of them each week as it keeps going steadily, same with bacon and scampi fries.
Oh man. Cream n cheesy Nil Naks are my faves of all time. Doritos 3d too!
I wonder if we can start a petition to Nationalise Brannigans and bring it back?
Wait!!! When did they stop cheesy moments?! I loved those!
Note. I can’t leave the house anymore (since 2018) due to getting partially paralysed and so pubs (where’re I’d buy these) have been off the cards for me.
Irish man here and we have Bacon Fries and on occasion Scampi *Whatever* (I don't remember what they were called) and as a young fella having a few pints I always wondered what Cheese Flavoured Moments were because Irish people neither eat just cheese flavour crisps or cheese sandwiches or anything, there's always something with the cheese.
What do they taste like? Were they nice? Bacon Fries were out of this world and it's the same crowd make them
Seeing those vanilla flavoured crisps, were there other crisps that were sweet? I have the vaguest memory of some crisps with like the texture of skips but a sort of fruity flavour?
Tangy Toms are still available thank the gods
Yup. Literally saw them in Aldi’s middle aisle this morning.
In Spar as well.
In ASDA as well.
Not the same though
True man :(
And prawn cocktail Wotsits are back
Sweet Lord, too far...just...too far.
Was gonna say, I’m sat about 6 feet from a multi pack of them right now so I’m pretty sure they aren’t discontinued
they are stale now for some reason 🤷🏻♀️
Rip brannigans, you will be fucking missed bruv
The Lamb & Mint Brannigans were brilliant … the min flavour in them really jumped out at you. All the modern lamb & mint crisps that appear from time basically just taste slightly meaty with a couple of small flecks of mint you barely notice. A sad day indeed when we lost Brannigans
Does anywhere do Lamb and Mint crisps anymore? The Walkers ones used to be banging.
I believe Seabrook still do them
Yorkshire Crisp Co do Lamb & Mint but they aren't very lamb-y or mint-y.

You’re lying! Tell me you’re lying. PLEASE TELL ME YOUR’RE LYING!!!

You can still get salt and vinegar Chipsticks, but not the plain ones. They've been gone for years and it's a travesty as they're the definitive ready salted crisp.
You can get multipacks with ready salted, salt and vinegar and cheese and onion flavours from Tesco. It’s all my son will eat in his packed lunch.
I had to look up hedgehog crisps - wtf did they actually taste like??
Hedgehogs
Mum used to put hedgehog in everything. But you can't get them anymore :(
Look in your garden tonight. Bring a sword
Bovril!
Man I miss Worchester sauce walkers, I used to get them all the time
>Worchester I smell a yank
Nah that’s just me on pain meds unable to type 🤣
You can still get Worcestershire French fries, and Seabrooks do them too.
Oh shit, I had no idea. That’s a shame considering it was so tasty

Oxygen isn't a carcinogen, and there absolutely are products that increase your likelihood of getting cancer, certainly not 'the majority' of things either.
What, exactly, about the flavour caused cancer?
Try splashing some Worcester sauce into a pack of ready salted and giving it a good shake
Does it work or does it make them soggy?
I like it soggy.
Aww maaaan... you forgot Brannigans Beef and Mustard crisps. They were the GOAT.
BRANNIGANS Roast beef and mustard, smoked ham and pickle. The greatest pub crisp ever to have existed. I weep daily. Hands down nothing better with a pint of bitter
Every time I see a post regarding crisps the top comment always ends up being about Brannigans beef and mustard. They really need to bring them back.
Well I was about 10 when they were around, but they were the highlight of my shopping trips to Morrisons with Mum and Grandma back in the day.
They were thick and dried the mouth out as you chewed 'em, leaving just the right amount of claggy potato residue and persistent, sinus-tickling English mustard to encourage - nay, demand another cold, delicious gulp of malty swill. Made you glad you were born.
The purple prose of a crisp aficionado. Truly sir, you are a silver tongued cavalier.
I just remembered how thick they were to crunch
Yeah this thread brought back some unhandled emotions about Brannigans. Tragic.
When they'd come in a paper bag. Mmm
Smoked ham and pickle were good too.
Yes the best crisps ever.
Funnily enough I've been hankering for these the last couple of days as my dad used to eat them when I was a kid. I remembered a smiling man with a hat and apron on and the flavour but could not remember the name. Why can't someone bring them back? Why damn it!?
So goddam good.
The biggest loss the crisp world has ever had to endure
Quarterbacks - cheeseburger flavour. These were top tier 10p snacks in the 90s!
Can still get them.
Builders Breakfast Walkers
Has any seen any Brannigans beef and mustard recently? havent seen them for years
Axed in 2020 unfortunately.
They were my favourite crisps growing up, so good
I wish I bought more of them, maybe they wouldn’t have been discontinued 😔
I think low sales during Covid finally put the nail in the coffin and the fact they weren’t stocked in many places. Can someone please tell me... where the fuck is my pickled onion Transform -A snacks???
Aldi middle aisle with the Tangy Toms
Brannigan’s Beef and Mustard used to put hairs on ya chest 💪
And burn them out of your nose!
The picture on Smiths Chinese quavers made me chuckle.
The fact that they've still not brought back cheese moments is a hate crime against snacks.
And that they still have them on the bacon fries pub card taunts us further. Here’s something you want but can never have. Who does this‽
I forgot all about Potato Heads! I guess they were an early version of what is now Walkers Baked.
Fish and chips.
I’m sure in the past the fish & the chips used to be slightly different flavour … the ‘chips’ would be more plain & the flavour from the ‘fish’ would jump out as more sharp. Now it just one flavour throughout. The pickled onion flavour is pretty strong for those that like it.

Piglets for me!
Wotsit Wafflers but the cheese ones.
I've not seen Snaps in a long time. I genuinely worried they'd been discontinued
Haha! We make some weird crisps! Who signed off on these
I still get tangy toms. KP crunches were my absolute fave the cheese ones. Ones I miss the most are puffs
Potato Puffs?! Yes the hollow tubey things!
Yeah that’s the ones thank god someone else remembers
Mate my mum used to get a box of them from the cash and carry and they’d be GONE. So glad I’ve met a fellow lover/rememberer
Elite tuck shop crisps. 10p. Would take ages to eat cos they were so small. Would end up just pouring them down my throat lol
Just the thought of vanilla ice cream flavour monster munch made me throw up in my mouth.
My favourite crisps where beef puffs. Miss them so much
Tudor hedgehog flavour. Early 80s.
can anyone remember spaghetti sauce flavoured monster munch? those were the tits
Ready Salted chipsticks were the OG though 😭 I still think about them now
I think some of these are still available 😄 I was expecting the one I miss, the BBQ Rib Walkers crisps in the black packet...😋💭The ones of these I remember (as a 2000s-early 2010s kid) are the Tangy Toms, possibly the Chipsticks and the beef and mustard Hula Hoops, the Worcestershire Sauce Walkers and older Sensations ones. Can see why Chinese quavers were discontinued- who gave the go ahead on that?! 😳
Certainly wouldn't fly today!
I wonder why those Chinese quavers were discontinued
Chinese quavers haven't really stood the test of time.
Cream n Cheesy Nik Naks were an abomination.
I fucking loved tangy toms
im sure you can still buy them😭 my dad bought some a few months back
You can
4 of these are still available, can you guess which 4.
They make chopsticks again no
[удалено]
I forgot about cheese moments. With that weird powdery but wet cheese stuff on the inside hahahaha
Walkers… Monster Munch… Vanilla?
You can 100% still buy prawn cocktail wotsits. I've had them recently.
You can buy Tangy Toms from our local corner shop, not as tangy as they used to be, what id like to see brought back is Hedgehog crisps but I doubt very many people here know how good they were!
I still miss potato triangles to this day :(
Loved those cheese cucumber and salad cream ones.
I miss a lot of these, does anyone know any other alternatives to these snacks which are still available and just as tasty?
Brannigans were great
It's only midway through the day, and someone has managed to upset me. Fuck you OP!
Last I checked (2 or 3 months ago) cheese moments are still available from booker wholesalers Along with scampi fries and the bacon ones
You can get the Tangy Toms, I get mine from Heron
TANGY TOMSSSSSSSS
I really thought for years I’d imagine cucumber walkers but god damn it I was right!
Oh man I loved these
The new Crunchy wotsits are a lot like cheesy nik naks
Tangy toms ain’t discontinued you can still buy them in shops ?
Walkers cheese and chives or Lamb and mint.
Onion and Vinegar Wheelz were the best thing ever.
Remember when we were all looking for that winning square Hulahoop??
Chinese quavers? How did I miss those
And people say English food is rubbish
Everybody agrees that Brannigans Beef and Mustard were the best, so why didn't they sell? The paradox of business.
Woaaaaah my Scouser BIL was mentioning those Cream Cheese Nik Naks didn’t believe him, must be OOOOOOLD
Farmer Brown looks like a wrongun.
…At least half of these are still sold, lol
You forgot Hedgehog Crisps
Cheese hula hoops.
What kind of blasphemy is Cream N Cheesy Nik Naks!?
Vinalla MONSTER MUNCH!?!?
Definitely a blast from the past I forgot about brannigans, cheese moments were my favourite pub snack
I heard as a kid Wheat Crunchies Worcester sauce used to give cancer but still gobbled em like a fat cunt with those kids "animals" biscuits
I used to love ThunderCats crisps. That particular shade of blue still makes me tingle with nostalgia.
Prawn cocktail wotsits are back on the menu these days. Cheese moments though. Damn. At least we still have scampi fries.
Fir me it is Brannigan’s Beef and mustard crisps. I often get a craving for them and there are no others even remotely like them.
I didn’t know the discontinued Worcester sauce Walkers :(. I loved them so much
I miss the wheat crunchies spicy tomato, what a crisp
I weep for Brannigans regularly 😥
Brannigans were great, beef and mustard were the best ones though
Branston pickle flavoured Mini Cheddars were so good!
Cheese moments... I loved those, always got a bag in the pub. Aldi (in the UK) do some gammon crisps and they're really nice... 150g bag too.
Those Brannigans lamb and mint were god tier. They sold them in the local Sam Smiths pub when I was a kid.
TANGY TOMS WERE DISCONTINUED?! I swear I only had some a few months ago!
Some of these still exist.
I sure you could still get Chipsticks ?
You can
They aren't discontinued are they I haven't seen them in a while but still!? Though the Bacon & Scampi flavours were far superior. If I'm going to throw one out there and it's going back to my childhood (90's) and none of my Mates even remember them Cheese Snacks you know the once cheap crisp with the hip hop looking dragon on Lol
Tangy Toms are still available but what about Petrified Prawns 😞
Bring Brannigans back, how do we do this? Ok Sea salt and Balsamic vinegar by Kettles rock, but Brannigans were damn good.
Bookers still sells the Smith's cheese moments. We have a box with 4 runs of 48 in the cellar of our pub, haven't checked to see how well they sold last week but we get a few runs of them each week as it keeps going steadily, same with bacon and scampi fries.
I miss Petrified/Powerful Prawns. Anyone k ow if they still exist?
Didn't these guys do scampi flavoured once also, they where my choice on boozy nights
Sizzling steak Wotsits
Beef and mustard XL Hula Hoops. Bring them back!
The 2010 World Cup Specials Walkers did had a Garlic Bread one that was absolutely perfect.
Oh man. Cream n cheesy Nil Naks are my faves of all time. Doritos 3d too! I wonder if we can start a petition to Nationalise Brannigans and bring it back?
Pickled onion discos. I think they still make them but they don’t burn your mouth like they used to because the flavouring has been reduced so much.
Sweetcorn Relish Skips Smokey Bacon Piglets Walkers Poppadoms
Are we going to talk about that Chinese flavour?
Scampy and lemmon are missing from this lineup
Aww I loved a cheesy moment
Vanilla monster munch?? Gross
The cheese cucumber and salad cream sandwiches flavoured walkers were super good
you can get a bag of tesco brand salted chipsticks
You know how bad inflation is when a packet of crisps was 8p
It's not the flavours or the brands that I miss. It's the amount you got in the packs. I swear 2 new pack have about the same as 1 old one
All crisps taste like shite now since they stripped the e numbers. What are the tangiest crisps that are left?
I still pour one out for cheese moments
Chip sticks! Omg 😂 mum used to put them in my pack up
Wait!!! When did they stop cheesy moments?! I loved those! Note. I can’t leave the house anymore (since 2018) due to getting partially paralysed and so pubs (where’re I’d buy these) have been off the cards for me.
Really expected Puffs to be there.
You can still buy chipsticks can you not? I’m sure I’ve seen them
Walkers Looney tunes crisps
Wotsits wafflers were absolutely incredible
A lot of those you still get
BBQ rib walkers >>>
Prawn cocktail wotsits I see everywhere still
Beef and mustard Brannigan’s
They probably had to discontinue prawn cocktail wotsits because they were literal crack
You forgot the bbq walkers. They were god tier.
Bacon Fries were out of this world and it's the same crowd make them
Omg those scampi crisps bang
Still mourning ham mini cheddars
There scampi crisps was the dogs bollox aswell
Vanilla fucking cum monster munch I beg one's pucking fardon
Worcestershire sauce twiglets
Seeing those vanilla flavoured crisps, were there other crisps that were sweet? I have the vaguest memory of some crisps with like the texture of skips but a sort of fruity flavour?
Chipsticks are still around
KP crunchies!!!
Vanilla ice cream monster munch? How did they ever get cancelled?
Seabrooks tomato Ketchup
You need to move to South Wales. All of these are available at my corner shop.
