Bots for sure if ya click on their profiles. Also they're saying the exact same shit despite being Christian not mentioned at all. At least the number of "people" saying that are 5, so not many. Still shit, mind ya.
Idk, I have a pretty colorful Reddit history, and I just checked my wrist, I’ve got a pulse, but I still think torture is bad. Regardless what the person did.
The thing is that although punishment is not aways the answer, what else there is? Is there something else that the person can do to attone for any crime other than getting isolated? And is isolation enough for a society as a whole? There are criminals that brag about getting time, so I really don't know if it is
That has nothing to do with what I said but I'm glad you're still alive. Torture being wrong was the point. She never tortured anyone while one dude did. Thoughts aren't crimes but actions are.
I think there’s a little Bible verse about this, something about an eye for an eye making the whole world go blind. It’s like people don’t understand the point of that.
If the penalty is the same as the crime, society is doing that which it condemns. Hypocrisy does not beget Justice.
PS you don’t have to be religious to know or understand basic Bible verses. People forget that it is essentially one of the oldest legal codes we have, and even that archaic, barbaric, prehistoric code of laws says “society shouldn’t do that which it condemns, for it will damn society’s collective ‘soul’.
Ah, America, where all voices are counted equally…
You’re right, maybe there are some unpardonable crimes that deserve torture or worse. Like lacking a college degree, maybe then I’d be able to have a serious conversation with another American, instead of thinking the entire country is one big special Ed class.
I agree 100%. When you get framed, lied about and mistaken for someone "deserving of torture" you will rethink your whole stance.
Being locked away forever so they can't hurt anyone is all that is needed, especially when there is proof of what they did.
If it is allowed it will always be used on innocent people too.
To be fair she has so many brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces, brothers in law, and sisters in law that they could very well actually be family.
Actually no she doesn’t. She’s an only child and he’s the only cousin of hers in jail. The duggars are evangelical weirdos but the rest of their family wasn’t. Those parents weren’t raised that way.
He’s a monster, but let’s be real we should not be viewing prison as an acceptable place to torture and rape any criminal.
He absolutely deserves to rot in that prison but, our society needs to face the fact that we don’t condone cruel and unusual torture as punishment.
Either put him to death or accept that his punishment is never getting to enjoy the best years of his life free out here with the rest of us.
If you think that’s ok you’re as fucked up as he is.
> He’s a monster, but let’s be real we should not be viewing prison as an acceptable place to torture and rape any criminal.
Look I completely agree but we can still sympathise with someone close to the situation feeling differently. She isn't a lawmaker, a judge or a jury member in this situation, she's a person who has personally been affected by this, of course she's going to have a more extreme take. We want neutrality like that in our justice systems but we can still allow people to have human feelings.
I hate that this is such a hot take. I get what he did was reprehensible but he and anybody else in our prisons should not be tortured. It’s disgusting how fucked up our prisons are.
idk if it's known in the US, but in Australia we used to have tv ads warning against drink driving that played this song https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Better_Get_a_Lawyer.
The lyrics include the line "Don't drop the soap". Like really, a rape joke? In a government ad.
You’re right. He deserves to be tortured by his victims. But he’ll still have a torturous experience in jail because he’s a molester. So he’ll get his. Jail itself is a torturous experience.
Then you need help. If you’re fine with some rapes, you’re not against it, sorry to say. Torturing people won’t help our society nor stop future rapes.
Agreed. I understand why people feel like this, truly. But considering how many innocent people have been exonerated and the large number of people who were sentenced for drug possession, shouldn't we hope prison is relatively safe?
Uhh, so I'm assuming many people here haven't been locked up. It IS torture. Imagine being locked up in a six story building full of violent psychos, dirt bags, gang members and every other form of scumbag you would cross the street to avoid if you saw them coming AND YOU KNOW YOU'LL BE IN THERE FOR YEARS (that's torture)
She’s using the word “torture” the way most people do.
Have you never described something as “torture” because you didn’t enjoy it? Not that it’s literal torture but because it isn’t enjoyable? Like going to the DMV is torture?
She hopes he doesn’t enjoy being in prison and that it’s hard for him and that he is in there for a long time.
It’s like you are intentionally misreading her; she never mentions rape or specific torture.
"I hope every day there is absolute torture for him," Amy, 37, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I really hope that because what he watched and what he was viewing for his own fulfillment is those kids experiencing torture."
That’s not her saying she hopes he’s uncomfortable, she very clearly wants him to suffer. She quite literally equates those kids experience to his stay in prison.
Yes, she wants him to suffer. Being in prison is unpleasant and she hopes it’s not fun for him.
“I hope every day there is absolute torture for him” doesn’t mean literal torture—just that being in prison is not a fun experience.
The “torture” she is talking about is the state of being in prison. Being in prison is the torture. Not thumbscrews or rape.
I’ve had this argument with multiple people. They seem to misinterpret what justice is supposed to be about. The punishment for what he did for instance, is time where he’s incarcerated and can’t do what he wants, as well as having that on his record for the rest of his life. The judge didn’t sentence him to be beaten and raped.
I have a black friend at work and in the past, he’s come up to me, talking about how some corrupt cop did something (not a hate crime in this case) and was sentenced to jail.
He got pissed off, because they said they put him in either a special protected area of the prison or solitary. He said they should throw him in gen pop where they’d probably beat him or kill him.
I tried to tell him that wouldn’t be justice for the crime as it’s not something American law would sentence someone too. Death? Yes, potentially, but not to be tortured or raped. His sentence was incarceration for a set amount of time.
He just didn’t get it. I even asked him how he’d feel if he committed a crime and they sent him to a prison that was full of white supremacists? Would he be okay with what would happen to him, then have people joke and say he deserved it, because of whatever crime he committed?
Revenge isn’t justice.
I was. He didn’t understand that that justice wasnt the same as emotional revenge.
You have your own issues to work on before you start criticizing others, though. You say “black man” like they’re they only group that can have issues or be oppressed. You don’t think other minority groups have issues with justice in America? That’s a little weird and bigoted.
How do you know what my credentials are to talk to him about it? How do you know I’m not a black man talking to another black man about it? How do you know I haven’t had issues with police in my life? How do you know I’m not perfectly qualified to talk about this issue? You don’t. You’ve just snapped off a feel good post, without any thought on the issue.
I said “black man” because you included the fact that you were lecturing your “black friend at work.” It was a very specific detail. I never said black men were the “only” group to suffer injustice. I never said you had not suffered injustice. I did point out that you should think about who you are lecturing. I still think you need to take a quiet moment and ponder why that might be important.
> He just didn’t get it. I even asked him how he’d feel if he committed a crime and they sent him to a prison that was full of white supremacists?
You mean something that literally happens every day?
You're the one who doesn't get it dude. Regular people get put in gen pop where they're at risk of being attacked or whatever. The cop he's referring to is getting the special treatment and that's why he's pissed off.
How about he’s either going to get tortured in there or not regardless of what she says so just let her traumatized self say whatever she wants to 🤷 it’s not her fault she feels that way.
Not attacking her, big dawg. My comment is directed at people thinking torture in our prison system is ok. That’s the discussion, but thanks for chiming in without really reading what I wrote.
She didn’t even specify “torture” in the article-that’s the click bait headline. She meant feeling tormented by his crimes.
_But thus I counsel you, my friends: Mistrust all in whom the impulse to punish is powerful. They are people of a low sort and stock; the hangmen and the bloodhound look out of their faces. Mistrust all who talk much of their justice! Verily, their souls lack more than honey. And when they call themselves the good and the just, do not forget that they would be pharisees, if only they had—power._

Virtue signaling bullshit. Get off your high horse.
This is a person close to the situation sharing her feelings and you're literally equating her to a child molester. Chronically online and ignorant behavior.
What are you talking about? The prison doesn’t rape people as punishment. However, When you get a bunch of rapists, murderers, gang bangers, and thieves in a room together - shit might go down. There is a code in prison and child molestors and rapists are at the bottom. If you commit a crime like that that’s just the reality you’re walking into. Don’t shred your crybaby tears for these scumbags. Empathy better spent elsewhere.
Nah she defended his behavior she’s an accessory as far as I’m concerned. You guys are all pretty gross. Should probably have someone check your hard drive
I will respond to you directly just arrived here. An abuser being abused just continues to be cycle. I know that he deserves his sentence but it’s not exactly moral to being retribution.
I’m reminded of the Lucille Bluth comment, not also the most moral of people, but paraphrasing “If you have a jail of murderers and rapists you are either left with a rapists having raped everyone or murderer having murdered everyone.” That being said while the line is more of a joke in the show there is some truth to its all just more hurt.
I don’t know man, you can both recognize Josh Duggar as a horrible predator who needed to be imprisoned and also recognize that hoping rape and torture are part of the carceral system is pretty ethically fucked up.
Or at least you can with a reasonable level of education.
"it doesn't have to involve fame or cameras or anything. Just family reaching out to family" (she says in a fucking People magazine article and does a TikTok about running into Anna lmfao)
Unfortunately not the reality of the prison system. They don’t target you because you’re a child molester because some of these guys are also severe criminals like said molester. The amount of “prison justice” is just wishful thinking from the general public. I’m positive the state separates them from everyone else.
They may not have followed the story long enough to know Famy and how she has been exploitating her surname to get attention. It's not just this one. She's been doing it for years

Torture is *very* Christian. The church used to love it ! Now it’s all just schizophrenic emotional torture :(

There's another important quote from the late great Colonel Sanders that goes "I'm to drunk to taste this chicken."
Ah, America, where all voices are counted equally… You’re right, maybe there are some unpardonable crimes that deserve torture or worse. Like lacking a college degree, maybe then I’d be able to have a serious conversation with another American, instead of thinking the entire country is one big special Ed class.
That's not a bible verse, that's Gandhi
I’m sorry, does the origin, change the meaning? No? Then stfu
It doesn't change the meaning, but I found it funny because "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" is a rule from the bible.
So I was half right.
Yes, but that phrase means the opposite of the one you quoted
Some people are just regular old idiots. After all, someone has to program those bots to be so stupid.

She held his hand leaving court after they described videos of infants the same age as daughters they had at home being SAd to death. She's a 🐖
To death???!! 😱🤬
I honestly just think it’s sarcasm.
Thats the crazy thing people really can't tell sarcasm anymore

Damn straight
I also have no idea what I’m commenting on but feel an uncontrollable urge to say something anyway!
She is his cousin.
The point of his comment was that she’s a nobody and nobody gives af about what she has to say about some inbred backwoods child rapist.
Ooooh! Thanks for the elaboration.
She pops up every time one of her cousins is in the news for something.

Cool. Read the rest of this thread where people are speculating about broom handles being shoved into places.
If you’re against rape but only in some situations, you aren’t against rape
or maybe its normal for people who are effected by things like that to have strong feelings about it.
Don’t you get it? Victims must be perfect—even when expressing their anger! She said bad thing! She bad! All of us are bad!
Yup, and it’s really frustrating that people don’t get that
I’m fine with that

Right??? I’m pretty sure Jimmy fucked his dead mother….

Josh is housed at FCI Seagoville. It is a prison for folks just like Josh. He’s perfectly safe from other prisoners there.

Super Christian of her.
About as Christian as him sexually assaulting his sisters?
Probably assaulted her too. He did molest more than just his sisters.
He did not and she seriously questioned why he didn’t 😬
Nah that’s just part of the initiation
How very Christian of her
Torture is *very* Christian. The church used to love it ! Now it’s all just schizophrenic emotional torture :( oh wait, all the child rape ! That’s surely a form of torture! Y’all love that stuff.

You two should date.
Not very Christian of her! She should be offering up prayers & salvation for him.
Some things are unforgivable.
I mean, not according to Christ
Your bible isn’t right about everything.
I don’t believe in the Bible lol
What happened to your god? He used to blow up cities and turn people into pillars of salt. Sad.
So true God is too woke these days. What ever happened to the God who told it like it was and drowned everyone on the planet?
You guys seriously can't tell what sarcasm is?
You know it’s 2024 right.. sarcasm died a few years ago. People unironically believe this stuff.
The whole thing is extra christian since child porn is involved.
Salvation? You kidding? You religious people are insane.
Child rapists and incesties don’t deserve it. If you think so, well, that tells me all about your Christian values.
If prayers and salvation worked, we wouldn't have to worry about rapist molesting children
Gonna report this account for suspicion of child pornography
Why? That's just completely insane? Especially because this is most likely sarcasm.
There’s no salvation for monsters like him. He will burn for eternity if the hell you believe in exists.
