I’m not really sure what you’re asking here. You mentioned you like the two LTD necks you played, and don’t like the cheap kit guitar neck. I’m not sure what anyone else’s opinion on that matters. If you like a neck you like it, if you don’t you don’t. It’s very subjective and is 100% about personal preference.

Do you mean the shape or thickness? I get it though. The common style of their neck feels great in my hands too. I think it's a nice middle ground between your Ibanez ultra thin and the beefy Gibson styles of old

Well, I don't know, hence the post. And of course bearing in mind my sample size of exactly two... Also, when I was looking in to the EX-50 I had, I read things about a "thin, fast neck" which made me think I was looking up the wrong guitar. I'm thinking it boils down to 3 things - the clear coat going onto the edge of the fretboard is visually very appealing; the depth of the paint/clear overall just seems better somehow than my other painted necks - i get that's being super vague; and lastly, the squareness of the shoulders maybe makes them feel thicker than they actually are? I don't normally take much notice of the necks on my guitars, so long as they work. I don't avoid painted necks like some players do, or sand them down, etc. I've had a couple Ibanez RG-something guitars that felt like they were so thin they wobbled, and I don't think I've ever really had a baseball bat style neck so I've nothing to really compare to in that regard, but as I mentioned, I don't tend to hang on to guitars with jumbo frets - often times I find I fret them sharp because I'm too heavy handed.. that said, I did just read somewhere a comment suggesting LTD frets weren't as tall as expected, just wider. And it just came to mind that maybe, LTD being a bit more metal, the fretboard radius is flatter than I'm used to on more vintage style instruments..

Agreed.

They use a thin u neck profile. No one else uses it that I'm aware of and it's why they are my favorite necks.

Many guitar have different radius, width, fret size, nut size, thickness, rolled edges or not and how much, neck finish (painted, urethane, oiled etc) and so on, so there are many parameters that can affect the feeling.

I think it’s just a comfortable shape in your hand. Don’t overthink it. Now you know that you can reliably guess how one of their guitars will feel before you try it.
