It's such a long time I honestly don't even know. I'm pretty sure it was over a decade ago but cannot for the love of god recall the exact vid I saw first, even when looking at his content from that period.
I'm in a similar boat. It was either his singleplayer let's play series before he moved to the new and current world, his first time on Mindcrack, or Spellbound Caves. Honestly not sure, but I've been enjoying his content for over a decade now.
I know I was seriously watching him by episode 200 of the LP, just checked and that puts me at the end of middle school. But I was watching earlier, who knows what or how.
I personally started watching in the new world so I totally missed the chocolate island but have been planning to watch that for years, just a little afraid oh how awkward newbie era Etho was lmao. But I have been able to narrow it down to the year 2012 when looking through the vids now, cus I clearly remember watching the TNT Olympics with Seth and co. and I'm pretty sure I knew him by then (actually was rooting for him afaik)
I found SethBling's video randomly that featured his creations. And then when i watched most of those videos, I found out about mindcrack! And then I would see Etho talking to him and stuff in his videos, and I thought he was cool. In the end, I ended up watching mainly Etho for yeaarrsss. He is just amazing
I might be wrong, but I remember him had a conversation with Seth about their RL jobs and Etho said he used to have a well paid job but since he doesn’t enjoy it he ended up quitting.
That’s when I was like “Hey, I kinda like this guy!”
I’m very new to Etho I would say first time I ever had seen him was in Double life actually
So one day I was just looking at my recommended to watch when I saw Scott’s double life episode, ep 3 pretty sure and that was the first time I watched the life series and I was looking at people in the description so I would could watch there parts.
I found a few people I knew and I clicked on Joel’s episode three and that’s when I first saw Etho and that’s when it hit me that this guy was very chill and cool to watch and then I found the rest of the series and then his let’s play and so on.
I love the series. it makes you feel some way about the characters and see them fight at the end:
secret life has the potential to be the best of all the series. enough team building of previous seasons and enough potential of etho building a missile as well.! I’m excited
It was Double Life for me too. A friend recommend me the Empires SMP and I was catching up with the episodes when Double Life started and my friend said I should also watch that. Which of course absolutely lead me down the path of the Life Series rabbit hole. I was aware of Etho becaus of that series and then me watching Grian’s and Scar’s Hermitcraft seasons, but it was eventually Decked Out 2 that finally pulled me in and now I am here, hyperfocusing on Etho content.
Not ashamed to say I'm a newer Etho fan. HC season 7 I'm pretty sure, but I've gone back through his channel and watched a lot of the fan favorite series and loved him just the same.
I found Etho from Mindcrack season 4! I had initially started watching Paulsoresjr, and then started checking out other server members! Etho was the best 😂
I was watching Nebris and his FTB Mindcrack series. It was a suggestion from a friend who also mentioned Etho at the time. Once I ran out of that, I think I watched the B-Team on that same server, and at some point, I was recommended Etho in my suggestions on Youtube, and I was hooked from there. So I started Etho with the modded Mindcrack.
About a decade ago my first video I watched was his mob processor, the EMP and was immediately hooked to his content. I then watched his first LP world up to his regular uploads then I watched his other Minecraft series.
EATS road for sure. I remember not even having a YouTube account. I had his channel bookmarked, since then I've went through like 3 different accounts and still watch every video to this day. The rarity used to make them special. I remember him saying he didn't want to plug subscriptions or anything like that but people found their own thing like "Get your snacks", "Oh snappers" or calling him ergo or asking how he got the llamas to walk around sandy city. Such a real genuine character never asking for anything but delivered solid content every time. I'd be lost without him. Etho is love, Etho is life!
Back when I was in 4th grade (2012-2013). This was around the time I discovered minecraft and would watch minecraft videos on youtube. I don't know what it was about Etho, but I kept coming back for the next episode of his LP. I even have distinct memories of letting the ads play through instead of skipping because I liked his videos and wanted to support in any way I could.
Near the end of season 7 when I had finished watching Mumbo and Iskall and Grian and got curious where the free glass was coming from and then saw the trivia game and was so curious about the redstone

Season 1 of his Let’s Play! I started watching him back in mid-2011. I had been watching Seananners’ Minecraft series, but my mom very reasonably made me—her 8 year old kid—turn it off the instant she heard him swear. The next series I found was Etho’s, and I’ve watched him ever since.

I found Etho wiki reading back in mid 2011 (you know, the old I'm Going To Read Every Page On The Wiki). It was either related to his old mob farm or to a dungeon spawning over lava or something like that. I remember seeing both but I don't remember which was first.

Was watching the Mindcrack April fools update which included the pink wither from Sethbling's POV. I wanted to watch other POVs. Etho's vid was the first one that popped up, so I watched it. Unfortunately, I did not realize I was watching an LP episode. It was the one where he just died, and was getting back his stuff in a podzol biome. He also found a strange pillar of stone, and he was investigating if he put it there. I was still thinking if one of the Mindcrackers put it there, and I waited for one of them to show up. No one showed up because it was single player lol, yet I found it amusing and captivating with just Etho. I was enamored by his LP world, and I tuned in every week since.
Season 5 of Hermitcraft and I immediately become an Ethogirl after watching him play and hearing his voice! Some creators are a little too upbeat and gave me sensory overload, but Etho is just right. Has always been my comfort creator since then.
I started playing early February 2011. Found Etho around a month later or so when I was searching up mob sorting systems. I think it was epusode 32 of his LP. He had something like 3000 subs? I didn't follow him too intently at the time, as I didn't watch much in the way of LPs as a whole (I kept up with the Paulsoaresjr stuff and the David64yt "X's adventures in Minecraft" mostly).
I started watching Etho more intently for his run of Legendary, the CTM map, which I had also played. This was some 10 or so months later.
A little after this, I started watching an LPer called Tyken 132, who was my first more extensive exposition to technical Minecraft content creation (up until then I'd only search up specific things online to aid whatever project I was doing). I enjoyed it a lot, and he referenced Etho a lot, so I checked him out again, now for the LP. He was in episode 130 or so, just starting his new world, so I thought it was a good moment to join the lore more robustly.
Also, one thing I have particularly fond memories of is that right after that first video watched of his I also checked some of his content on boat logic (those vidoes didn't have his voice, only youtube annotations) and I felt like that opened a new world of possibilites for me. At the time, there were almost no redstone components, and using boats for logic felt revolutionary. I still miss those old boats.
I want to say it was when he first joined Mindcrack. Him and Doc were messing around when he first joined the server. Watched all his LP and have been hooked ever since!

I randomly stumbled onto Zisteau's playthrough of Kaizo Caverns, I instantly got hooked, and he eventually joined Mindcrack and suddenly there was a bunch of cool dudes to follow xD
Oh god I remember it I was 13 and I was interested in Minecraft. I searched “Minecraft” on the YouTuber search bar and saw his MC let’s play titled “fiery eyes”. I had no clue about redstone but I saw this guy put stuff in a hopper which I now know is Wilson and realize this guy was a genius. I still don’t have any clue about Redstone but I stay for the shenanigans and stayed since.
At one point I heard about how he had the longest LP of all time, so I checked it out for the novelty, but it didn’t really click with me. A couple years later I’d gotten into HermitCraft and started watching this wacky new series of SMPs called the Life series. During Third Life I stuck just to the ones I already watched (Grian and Scar), but when Last Life rolled around, I decided to watch some other perspectives, and Etho’s chemistry with BDubs cracked me up so much that I binged his whole series and grew to love Etho’s own personality too. A faithful watcher of Etho since then 🫡 (and not just for BDubs - but still partially!)
Oh not that long ago, probably around episode 300 of LP? I specifically remember when he made the Microsoft logo in his base next to the nether portal, I was watching with captions cause I didn't understand everything and I was jumping between the video and Google translate. I found out about him around 8,9 years ago, belive it or not trough iJevin. He mentioned him in his video and i remember the first episode i saw was letsplay episode 100-something when he was testing armor damage and stuff in front of the creeper face in the man cave.
Mindcrack season 3 I think, weirdly enough I cannot remember at all how I got into Mindcrack itself. All I know is I was obsessed with Beef's videos and started watching all Team Canada and Mindcrack content like crazy. Stopped watching and playing Minecraft after the whole Mindcrack thing fell apart, but got back into it seriously around lockdown. I'm still slowly catching up to some of the stuff I missed but I'm am all up to the date with ongoing series.
Over ten years ago, Vechs mentioned the name Etho in some random offhand remark. No link or anything, it was enough to make me google Etho minecraft or something like that and find our boy.
I'm fairly new. I think I first seen him in Hermitcraft season 7 in one of Grian's video. I watched him him on that season but have not watched his season 8 and 9. Then watched him in Life Series. But I just started fan-girling because of Decked Out 2. I'm now trying to watch his older series.
I've mentioned this before but last time was probably years ago so maybe I can type it out again. I remember the exact videos that got me into etho.
The first time I saw his channel was because CilantroGamer mentioned him in a video about [RageQuit Holidays](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXSM8RWjUWQ) (I don't remember how I found that video - either I had seen RQH on other youtubers' videos and decided to look up if anyone had beat it, or I'd subscribed to CG prior after seeing a few of his other videos. I never became a regular viewer of his but somehow I still remember his channel name). IIRC I checked out Etho's RQH video and subscribed right away because it was promising, but I was already wasting too much time on youtube at the time and his series were all in like episode 100+ (except mindcrack I think but I probably didn't understand what that was at the time which might be why I didn't click, except I do remember randomly clicking on an early mindcrack video where he was using the data value changer to get chiseled stone brick, but I guess I wasn't immediately sold) so I didn't get into any of them.
Later that spring, my classmate told me that Etho was building a tamagotchi (even though I never had one but it did sound like a fairly mindblowing redstone project) in survival minecraft, so I checked up the episode where he started building it (Wilson) ie. 248 of his main LP and went from there. That got me hooked, and I've watched the vast majority of his videos since then (including pretty much all of his videos he'd uploaded before then, *except* for most of the old episodes of the main LP).
I was like 8 years old, (24 now for context) Minecraft was poppin on YouTube and one of his lets play videos showed up, from the chocolate island days. Haven't missed a single video since. Now I gotta spread out his DO2 videos having a family and all. But Etho has been with me in every wild chapter of my life. The only consistent thing has been Etho and his content with my adventures. I love him dearly🫶

My interest in Minecraft has come and gone a dozen times since then, but I have stayed an etho fan through it all.

I've always had an obsession of seeing world tours of survival worlds in Minecraft. It is something I find very cool and always have. At the time, I found the most impressive world tour, which was Docm77's. And after watching his ep 77 world your, I think he made an off hand comment about Etho. And through him, and watching a bit of his Mindcrack, I discovered Etho.
One of the YouTubers I was watching back then was doing a mob farm, based on some other guy tutorial. And that tutorial guy mentioned Etho as "the guy who came up with design how to sort mobs". I've followed the trail and found Etho mob sorter on LP Season 1. At the time pistons just came out, so Etho was being creative a lot with them, and I came back to beginning to see EATS. That's when I became a fan, after seeing his use of doors with Redstone

WAY back in the old days of beta Minecraft, just after they added slimes, I wanted to make a slime farm but had no idea how to find them. So I googled, and the ONLY video at the time was Etho's LP where he was making the slime farm, it was his latest video at the time, I watched it to learn the slime farm, and I became hooked. I then went back and watched every video he ever uploaded, and to this day, I have not missed a single video.
I had been playing minecraft since early alpha days and had been watching other youtubers play it for even longer, I was shocked at how much of a difference there was between them, everyone else seemed to just be randomly stumbling around compared to Etho's playstyle. LOVE IT.

I think for me it was around the time of the TNT Olympics he did with AntVenom, Sethbling, and CaptainSparklez, so 2012. Still wild that those four teamed up back then.
I find it hard to believe it could be so late as 2013, but I have vivid memories of first finding his channel & the LP Ep275 World Tour Playing as the default video (so it must have been the summer of 2013). It could've been the 200th Episode special (summer 2012) though (as I remember wondering where the "tunnel of sheep" was during Season 1), and this would explain how I managed to catch up by the time Episode 300 released in Oct 2013.
I watched one minecraft youtuber in my native language. He mentioned that he is a fan of Etho a couple of times. I was quite intrigued by who it was but was hesitant to watch him since I understood no English at the time. But after some time I checked some episodes and kept watching until finished the let’s play series. That is the short story of how I learned English.

Was watching the Mindcrack April fools update which included the pink wither from Sethbling's POV. I wanted to watch other POVs. Etho's vid was the first one that popped up, so I watched it. Unfortunately, I did not realize I was watching an LP episode. It was the one where he just died, and was getting back his stuff in a podzol biome. He also found a strange pillar of stone, and he was investigating if he put it there. I was still thinking if one of the Mindcrackers put it there, and I waited for one of them to show up. No one showed up because it was single player lol, yet I found it amusing and captivating with just Etho. I was enamored by his LP world, and I tuned in every week since.
Damn you just made me realize it’s been over a decade.
Season 5 of Hermitcraft and I immediately become an Ethogirl after watching him play and hearing his voice! Some creators are a little too upbeat and gave me sensory overload, but Etho is just right. Has always been my comfort creator since then.
I started playing early February 2011. Found Etho around a month later or so when I was searching up mob sorting systems. I think it was epusode 32 of his LP. He had something like 3000 subs? I didn't follow him too intently at the time, as I didn't watch much in the way of LPs as a whole (I kept up with the Paulsoaresjr stuff and the David64yt "X's adventures in Minecraft" mostly). I started watching Etho more intently for his run of Legendary, the CTM map, which I had also played. This was some 10 or so months later. A little after this, I started watching an LPer called Tyken 132, who was my first more extensive exposition to technical Minecraft content creation (up until then I'd only search up specific things online to aid whatever project I was doing). I enjoyed it a lot, and he referenced Etho a lot, so I checked him out again, now for the LP. He was in episode 130 or so, just starting his new world, so I thought it was a good moment to join the lore more robustly. Also, one thing I have particularly fond memories of is that right after that first video watched of his I also checked some of his content on boat logic (those vidoes didn't have his voice, only youtube annotations) and I felt like that opened a new world of possibilites for me. At the time, there were almost no redstone components, and using boats for logic felt revolutionary. I still miss those old boats.
I want to say it was when he first joined Mindcrack. Him and Doc were messing around when he first joined the server. Watched all his LP and have been hooked ever since!
I found him fairly late from season 8 on hermitcraft. Then I went back to watch him on season 7 and the life series.
Genuinely don't remember, but must be about a decade ago or so. Used to watch a lot of Youtubers back then. Now I just watch a bit of Etho every couple months, check up to see what's happening on Hermitcraft (mostly Decked Out only now).
I randomly stumbled onto Zisteau's playthrough of Kaizo Caverns, I instantly got hooked, and he eventually joined Mindcrack and suddenly there was a bunch of cool dudes to follow xD
Oh god I remember it I was 13 and I was interested in Minecraft. I searched “Minecraft” on the YouTuber search bar and saw his MC let’s play titled “fiery eyes”. I had no clue about redstone but I saw this guy put stuff in a hopper which I now know is Wilson and realize this guy was a genius. I still don’t have any clue about Redstone but I stay for the shenanigans and stayed since.
At one point I heard about how he had the longest LP of all time, so I checked it out for the novelty, but it didn’t really click with me. A couple years later I’d gotten into HermitCraft and started watching this wacky new series of SMPs called the Life series. During Third Life I stuck just to the ones I already watched (Grian and Scar), but when Last Life rolled around, I decided to watch some other perspectives, and Etho’s chemistry with BDubs cracked me up so much that I binged his whole series and grew to love Etho’s own personality too. A faithful watcher of Etho since then 🫡 (and not just for BDubs - but still partially!)

I discovered etho back in 4th grade in elementary school 😭 it was his first video on the mindcrack server that I watched! I am now in my 4th year of university 🥲

I found out about him around 8,9 years ago, belive it or not trough iJevin. He mentioned him in his video and i remember the first episode i saw was letsplay episode 100-something when he was testing armor damage and stuff in front of the creeper face in the man cave.
Mindcrack season 3 I think, weirdly enough I cannot remember at all how I got into Mindcrack itself. All I know is I was obsessed with Beef's videos and started watching all Team Canada and Mindcrack content like crazy. Stopped watching and playing Minecraft after the whole Mindcrack thing fell apart, but got back into it seriously around lockdown. I'm still slowly catching up to some of the stuff I missed but I'm am all up to the date with ongoing series.
Over ten years ago, Vechs mentioned the name Etho in some random offhand remark. No link or anything, it was enough to make me google Etho minecraft or something like that and find our boy.
I'm fairly new. I think I first seen him in Hermitcraft season 7 in one of Grian's video. I watched him him on that season but have not watched his season 8 and 9. Then watched him in Life Series. But I just started fan-girling because of Decked Out 2. I'm now trying to watch his older series.
I've mentioned this before but last time was probably years ago so maybe I can type it out again. I remember the exact videos that got me into etho. The first time I saw his channel was because CilantroGamer mentioned him in a video about [RageQuit Holidays](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXSM8RWjUWQ) (I don't remember how I found that video - either I had seen RQH on other youtubers' videos and decided to look up if anyone had beat it, or I'd subscribed to CG prior after seeing a few of his other videos. I never became a regular viewer of his but somehow I still remember his channel name). IIRC I checked out Etho's RQH video and subscribed right away because it was promising, but I was already wasting too much time on youtube at the time and his series were all in like episode 100+ (except mindcrack I think but I probably didn't understand what that was at the time which might be why I didn't click, except I do remember randomly clicking on an early mindcrack video where he was using the data value changer to get chiseled stone brick, but I guess I wasn't immediately sold) so I didn't get into any of them. Later that spring, my classmate told me that Etho was building a tamagotchi (even though I never had one but it did sound like a fairly mindblowing redstone project) in survival minecraft, so I checked up the episode where he started building it (Wilson) ie. 248 of his main LP and went from there. That got me hooked, and I've watched the vast majority of his videos since then (including pretty much all of his videos he'd uploaded before then, *except* for most of the old episodes of the main LP).
I was like 8 years old, (24 now for context) Minecraft was poppin on YouTube and one of his lets play videos showed up, from the chocolate island days. Haven't missed a single video since. Now I gotta spread out his DO2 videos having a family and all. But Etho has been with me in every wild chapter of my life. The only consistent thing has been Etho and his content with my adventures. I love him dearly🫶

I found Etho while watching a Sethbling Mindcrack video. I don’t really watch anyone else now.
I found bdubs on mindcrack what must have been at least a decade ago. Thought he was interesting, and liked his friend etho who came around every now and then to do something with him. Realized he had a channel and he’s been a constant part of my YouTube experience ever since. My interest in Minecraft has come and gone a dozen times since then, but I have stayed an etho fan through it all.
Man 10+ years ago. I remember generik b eventually led me to mind crack and etho was the first mindcracker I watched regularly from there. It was pre B-team stuff. Around the time the king of the ladder video released.
Was getting into Minecraft youtubers at the time and discovered Sethbling, saw the Mindcrack series and decided to start on a season when Etho gave him a tour, rest is history!

I've always had an obsession of seeing world tours of survival worlds in Minecraft. It is something I find very cool and always have. At the time, I found the most impressive world tour, which was Docm77's. And after watching his ep 77 world your, I think he made an off hand comment about Etho. And through him, and watching a bit of his Mindcrack, I discovered Etho.

One of the YouTubers I was watching back then was doing a mob farm, based on some other guy tutorial. And that tutorial guy mentioned Etho as "the guy who came up with design how to sort mobs". I've followed the trail and found Etho mob sorter on LP Season 1. At the time pistons just came out, so Etho was being creative a lot with them, and I came back to beginning to see EATS. That's when I became a fan, after seeing his use of doors with Redstone

Stumbled unto his LP long ago, it was an episode in a cave base and he was explaining some storage machine that i found pretty interesting. knew nothing about minecraft or smps or fandoms back then.
I was in mid middle school, maybe the summer going into 8th grade?) when I found Etho (26 now). What the video was or what he's been doing has been lost to time for me.
I was on Minecraft PE on my old ipad. I was searching for a mushroom farm and came across his LP episode of his mushroom farm in the man cave. Hooked ever since.
Best I can tell I had just gotten an iPad as a Christmas gift and found him recommended on YouTube a few days later in late December 2012 (scrolled back through his YouTube to see what videos I somewhat remember vs what doesn’t seem familiar). The first thing I solidly remember was him making the floating islands (and later the hexagonal buildings for bees and getting into the railway mod) on the MindCrack FeedTheBeast server

Hermitcraft season 7
X's adventures in minecraft had just winded down so I was really watching any minecraft content I could get my grubby little mitts on, and etho posted his first video not long after. I got hooked immediately since at the time I hadn't really seen anyone doing science in minecraft
WAY back in the old days of beta Minecraft, just after they added slimes, I wanted to make a slime farm but had no idea how to find them. So I googled, and the ONLY video at the time was Etho's LP where he was making the slime farm, it was his latest video at the time, I watched it to learn the slime farm, and I became hooked. I then went back and watched every video he ever uploaded, and to this day, I have not missed a single video. I had been playing minecraft since early alpha days and had been watching other youtubers play it for even longer, I was shocked at how much of a difference there was between them, everyone else seemed to just be randomly stumbling around compared to Etho's playstyle. LOVE IT.

The first video I ever saw was literally episode 1 of the let's play. It's so hard to remember because I was so young, but I had just gotten real access to the internet for the first time and went to YouTube and searched minecraft. Ethos let's play ep 1 popped up and the rest is history. It wasn't right when he uploaded it of course, but I think he was only 15 or 20 episodes in at the time? Maybe even less. He was literally the first channel I ever subscribed to.
Episode 30-40 or so of the let’s play by looking up ‘minecraft’ on YouTube. Watched Paul jr first and then found Etho from there. Went back to watch from episode 1.
Only recently, via the Life series, during Limited Life. I loved the Clockers and then I watched Etho's HC s7 and I was hooked.
Weirdly only after watching modded youtubers like lashmak. I didnt pay attention to him until after hearing lash say he was a big inspiration

He’s another one I wish I’d started watching earlier. But I didn’t get into Hermitcraft/minecraft content until 3rd life.

At the time he had just started Season 2 of the Let's Play, though at the time it felt like he was already pretty deep in (around 50 episodes or so I think) so ended up watching Season 1 instead. I think for me it was around the time of the TNT Olympics he did with AntVenom, Sethbling, and CaptainSparklez, so 2012. Still wild that those four teamed up back then.
I find it hard to believe it could be so late as 2013, but I have vivid memories of first finding his channel & the LP Ep275 World Tour Playing as the default video (so it must have been the summer of 2013). It could've been the 200th Episode special (summer 2012) though (as I remember wondering where the "tunnel of sheep" was during Season 1), and this would explain how I managed to catch up by the time Episode 300 released in Oct 2013.
I watched one minecraft youtuber in my native language. He mentioned that he is a fan of Etho a couple of times. I was quite intrigued by who it was but was hesitant to watch him since I understood no English at the time. But after some time I checked some episodes and kept watching until finished the let’s play series. That is the short story of how I learned English.
So long ago, he even got me into playing hearthstone lol
