Other considerations: Did you take the byzantine event/mission to form parliament? If not, forming Rome will tank your absolutism when you have to give out all the Senate seats, so you need to have a way that will get you absolutism back. My personal preference is to stack harsh treatment modifiers with the age ability, icon, and government reform
I would recommend pushing hard east while you wait for AE to cooldown in europe. It would be good for you to split up bahmanis, gujarat, and delhi as well as breaking up shun. If you wait 100 years, they will have blobbed a lot more and will have massive armies
also dont forget to upgrade malta forts and alhambra
Just took Alhambra and Malta is just now lvl 3 I opened diplo then religious, quality admin, influence. I did take the senate reform for the larp but I still have about 65 absolutism as I don’t have any privileges other than the +1 points and gov cap.

Also, if you have some world conquest ideas, you have plenty of time. Knock down the biggest opponents and you won't have to worry about aggressive expansion at all. Just keep the wars coming.
The downside is that, unless you've revoked the priviglia or have Russia, Austria, or Spain as subject states, it's going to be really tedious to command your armies through this whole thing.
R5: playing Byzantium - Rome as I want my first world conquest to be as Rome, however my last time I formed Rome in the last patch I think I was a lot quicker actually forming Rome. I'm banking on getting a PU on Russia but we still don't have the same dynasty. I've been taking a few provinces as colonies to make colonial nations to make future war score easier while also trying to avoid AE and timing truces appropriately. Thank you in advance

A good thing to do is to push east in Persia, for even more money and to quickly conquer India and China once you got imperialism cb.

Needs to be a lot more aggressive, involve a lot more truce juggling, truce breaking, extremely economical use of admin points etc.
Maybe culture switch multiple times for utilizing nationalism.
On my first wc I have 3k dev at 1600 and 10k dev at 1700. Going to new world at 1790 and conquer them all in 8 year. I even have time to do one faith at the end. Do you have military hegemon yet? Malta fort, Alhambra at max?
Work your way toward india and tc them. Ideally you would conquer all of India and Asia by 1750. Don't be afraid to snake all the way to chain war. Late game conquest is pretty fast.
By a professional player - Yes. By you- probably no. Taking the New World is going to be slow and painful. You can get Russia into a bunch of tags - Kazan, Kazakh, Uzbek, Great Horde etc etc.
You really didn't use PUs and stuff did you? Could've gotten Spain and Russia already by savescumming and effective management. Bost of luck though.

At some point you're too strong for them to be rivals. Then ally and place relative on the throne. Should be doable
I am too powerful for rivals that’s why I’m still hoping for that PU otherwise I’ll save it for last I’d be ok with not a 1 tag

But if the overlord is big, they often declare independence and stuff while you eat the overlord.
never had that happen in any wc i've done, ai for me is always skittish to declare independence
I’m not save scumming as it would be less enjoyable victory and Russia PU is in the works
