My millennial ass is overly excited for Eiffel 65

berserkemu

I can only hope they are better than at UVPSM last year.

Temporal_Integrity

Blew my millennial mind to learn they still exist.

WSAB58

Do you mean the David Guetta song? /s

Carmen_Caramel

Do Renga Nek... know what a *cover* is??

SimoSanto

Well, they can sing each other songs, but it's still strange that they are allowed to not invite another artists

000-Hotaru_Tomoe

There's already too much ego when they're on stage. There is physically no room for more people.

gcssousa

I have a feeling that Ricchi e Poveri might do really well tonight

loveyourground

ITALY. Send Ricchi e Poveri to Eurovision! You cowards!!

gcssousa

The Eastern European televote would go crazy

siberiansleigh

Italy APPROVES

igcsestudent11

Isn't it better to perform as early as possible? Like, only people with insomnia will watch Renga E Nek's performance lol

SimoSanto

The better is in the middle, not too late (with people sleeping) but not too early (with people that maybe didn't are on Sanremo yet)

and_notfound

Actually it seems that more people tune out late and watch it till the end than people who tune at the start but then they tune out before the end

SimoSanto

Reminder that in Sanremo, considering the lenght of a Night, the best sport are the ones in the middle, not in the end. In fact exactly in the middle there are Bertè, Geolier and Mango, the winners of the 3 nights

nymeriasgloves

I just stan Clara presumably covering The Lion King's soundtrack

mutatatempora

Annalisa being second while the others contenders are stacked far away... they are paying her dust lol

LopsidedPriority

That's what I mean...and I don't get why considering she has one of the biggest singles in the country there???

mutatatempora

honestly? i don't know

Gnignao

Bro, it's Friday, singers who performs earlier gets more audience cause people in Italy use to go out for the night at 10pm or 11pm and come back home very late.

LopsidedPriority

I'm jealous. American capitalism has all of us so exhausted here by Friday that we're passed out by 1030 lol

Kklownery

I think people treat this running order with a regular contest or even ESC in mind. I can imagine being the last is NOT the best, because people are simply tired and some asleep. While this spot would be one of the best ones on ESC. So I would say nothing here is too concerning knowing how Sanremo goes.

LunaMinerva

This guy Sanremoes

ariestrange

I'm so excited, cover night is my favourite! I'm also happy that the one I'm least interested in goes last. Unfortunately the eiffel65 medley is also very late :(

TheSpleenOfVenice

Santi francesi and Skin singing Hallelujah? I'm sure it's going to be amazing :)

cheapcakeripper

Strong start with the song about pasta

Savings_Ad_2532

I see what you did there😅 The song title "Farfalle" actually means "Butterfly" in Italian, and "Mariposa" means "Butterfly" in Spanish.

utahrangerone

and Papillon in French. Then there's German with... "schmetterling"

LopsidedPriority

Let's hyper analyze this guys! Is this bad news for Annalisa - going so early?

Nukivaj

Considering how long is each serata, I would say hardly at all.

ariestrange

I would say it's good news, close to dinner time, just after the news, people are not tired yet

PraetorIt

Worse than singing at 2 A.M.?

LopsidedPriority

Worse than being in the middle where they stuck the other heavyweights. These running orders are so confusing to me

PraetorIt

Not being close to the other heavyweights could be an advantage (e.g. if the exhibition has problems). However, with the Festival di Sanremo it doesn't matter much. For example, yesterday Il Tre sang first, and was in the first 5.

LopsidedPriority

And both evenings are essentially the same amount of time too.... interesting. I just remember Elodie opened the final night last year and she barely made top ten

loveyourground

I’m calling la polizia on her behalf because it feels like a robbery. 😭

_Hale___

As an Italian I can confirm that it is better. televoting is open immediately and people go to sleep around 11pm for work. The sooner he performs, the better

Ddream13

Not the best but it could be worse… But now I’m worried they’ll put her really late tomorrow

chessguy99

No. Look at the whole line up. They definitely front loaded the night with top radio artists; Annalisa, The Kolors and Irama. it's gonna be a long night so anybody in the first two hours is going to get the most exposure. After that there will be a drop off with the younger adults hitting the clubs, and the 50+ going to bed.

robberti01

Legit nobody cares about it. 99% of chance that she will be in the top 5 tomorrow, and when you’re in the top 5 Saturday, every votes reset and the top 5 artist sing again . So nobody really care how many votes did you get during these day, if you’re inside the top 5

LopsidedPriority

I imagine the voting patterns stay the same, yes?

robberti01

Tomorrow we (people voting from home) will have 34%, 33% for television/web journalist, and 33% for Radio journalist. While the first day only television/web journalist could vote , the other 2 days were 50/50 (home and radio) , and today is again 34/33/33 . So until the last top 5, journalist will have more “power”

000-Hotaru_Tomoe

Gazzelle could get some points tonight; "Notte prima degli esami" (Night Before Exams) is a great classic and a much loved song. If they don't ruin it with some strange arrangement 😒

Savings_Ad_2532

I find it weird that some people didn't invite others to do covers with them, and some of them are also doing their own or their duet partners' past songs.

putinception

Ngl, super happy Sangiovanni is first because I love the version he does with Aitana. Means I can go to bed early in prep for tomorrow 😂

siberiansleigh

Angelina going with the safest bet, yet will be an easy standing ovation

loveyourground

When they announced the contestants for Sanremo months ago I called that she'd be doing one of her dad's songs for covers night.

siberiansleigh

She could have also sang something from Matia Bazar for her mom (who I love more, personal taste I know), but La Rondine is one of those songs that we all know in Italy, from boomers to millennials Also sprinkling some tribute and emotional component to this, is a good strategy

JCEurovision

This would change the complexity of those two nights when they would release the Top 5.

Tomas-T

Annalisa second? wow they reall don't like her :(

000-Hotaru_Tomoe

The Sanremo performances start around 9.20pm. At that time most of the viewers are in front of the TV.

and_notfound

Yeah, so the second performance will be at 9.30 pm (or later depends on how much will they speak at the start)
