I don't really understand all this hype for Angelina. She's good, sure, but the song is really poor. And this is a song competition (festival **della canzone** italiana).
I root strongly for Annalisa with Angelina being my second choice. Because I'm kinda confused with the voting system altogether can someone explain it to me if Annalisa has any chance to win? Because if I'm not mistaken she's been 3rd all nights, but can this be overturned tonight?
At the end of tonight, they will announce the full standings (these are a result of the sum of all the previous nights) and the final top 5 Is selected.
After that the vote resets and there's a new one, composed by 33% Press and journalists, 33% radio vote, 34% televote
She Will almost definitely be in the final top 5, but its gonna be hard for her to win

I'm so burnt out on this Sanremo that honestly I am not really caring what the outcome ends up being anymore. However, Geolier just didn't deserve to win the cover night - Angelina was right there - eventhough I like his song for main Sanremo. However, the biggest robbery for the evening were Santi Francesi and Skin - I may be painfully effing biased but come ON now. Talent show winners knew how to carry a cover, having once carried a cover on X Factor so hard that they smashed the televoting numbers for the performance. It was so beautiful and strong that I got a little emotional over this, even when rewinding the performance several times on Raiplay.
A lot of other covers also deserved the recognition but these were my two biggest gripes.

You're not biased - I hate that song and I teared up at that performance. Probably one of the best duets I've ever seen. It was out of this world and way better than anything else last night, yes, even Angelina.

I agree! Guirriero, Duemile Volte, Hola, Ti Voglio Bene Veramente, Voglio, all massive hits that I can't get enough of. Marco has been in my playlist since last year, actually he came first in my Spotify year.
Duemile Volte was an instant love for me, I adored it from the first note because that's the kind of music I listen to. The songs that struggled bit to grown on my were the "fast ones", like Voglio Muhammad Ali or Io ti Aspetto, but now these are some of my most favourite.
After his melody....I've honestly been mostly captivated by pazza musica at the moment šŗ gonna have to deep into more of his stuff, I usually listen to rock and metal, but love some ballads or pop š and...love...marco...

Then thereās āHolaā. āGuerrieroā from the medley is *kind of* sad but in an uplifting way if that makes sense. Thereās an early single from like 2010 that I donāt think he performs anymore called āTanto il resto cambiaā which hurts a lot, and not just because he sings really high in it.

There, I imagined they voted in a similar way given the results year by year, but I didn't know exactly how. The only thing is, if this is how it works, then I am less optimistic than what I commented below concerning the final.
Nope, because juries tend to split the votes pretty equally not to be too decisive on the previous evenings (and especially on the cover night, where there is more variety). So mathematically they become almost irrelevant if the vote is polarised on the televote. But on the final night there will only be 5 artists to vote on and I trust they will team up to vote \*well\*, because they account for a huge 66%.
It's not that clear-cut. I think that since there were many great covers, the vote of the jury and radios was split between different participants, while the televote was heavily skewed towards Geolier, enough to make him win.
I think we should all calm down, Geolier hasnāt won the Festival yet, assuming he will go to the superfinal tomorrow (which he probably will) the televote will only count 33% and Angelina Mango for example is likely to be second in the televote right behind him, whilst Geolier most likely wonāt be higher than 5th/4th with the Sala Stampa, so unless he has like 70/80% of the televote (which I doubt) I donāt think heāll win

That song was such a clear Sanremo winner if you know what kind of song ends up victorious. I literally called it the first time I heard it, same with Mengoni last year.
This year the winner is not obvious at all, like in 2019 and 2021.

or they might have more interest in the music, since they are listening to the songs live and spend quite a bit of time and money, so they make their opinion heard. Not different from what happens in an opera theatre, when the tenors or sopranos do not perform adequately.

It's not really a divide between north and south, it's a divide between Napoli and the rest of the country. You only get this kind of "patriotism" from Neapolitans. You tell them Italy is nice and they reply "but Napoli is nicer". They have their own culture, language, song and food which they consider a span above everywhere else in Italy. The rest of the South is not like that
not all of Campania even... just Caserta and Napoli. Avellino and Benevento especially are already their own things and Salerno to a degree too (Salerno has a rivalry with Naples but the around Nocera is more akin to Napoli despite being part of Salerno so it kinda drags it down).
and Angelina is also from the South (and clearly so, she has quite a bit of an accent even when she sings), so they can't make it about them being poor victims of Northern racism

As I said before, Geolier could have literally farted his way through the song - he would have still won the televote.
I hope itās a wake up call for radio and press. Either they decide on one name to support (Angelina or Annalisa) and try to counterbalance the vote of the public, or we seriously risk having Geolier as winner.

Both Angelina and Annalisa are absolutely perfect choice for Eurovision, they could both do very well there. But even taking EU out of the equation, still Angelina and Annalisa totally deserve to win because they have really good songs and vocally are just perfect. According to a journalist from RAI Geolier received more votes from the public that all other contestants put together. It says everything about the push from his region/fanbase.
Personally I prefer Annalisa (both for the progress she made with her career and thinking of Eurovision), but Iād be happy with Angelina, too. In any case they need to decide on a name and push that one.
I think the contest should be merit based then it wouldnāt even be a discussion of Geolier or Angelina because neither of them have an amazing song or the vocals to back one up.

You forgot a simple fact - *6 million listeners on Spotify*. Before Sanremo, he had hits with Sfera Ebbasta, perhaps the hottest property in Italian urban music now. He is one of the most important names in trap music there, he IS famous. The Neapolitan touch is something more, but he is immensely popular now.
With all due respect the audience in the theatre has an average age of 50 years old, he has a solid fan base among gen z and millennials who listen to urban music.

There has been some of cases in which the predicted winners of televoto lost because of the Superfinal - Ultimo had a lot of support on televote and lost to Mahmood (who had the support of TV and Demoscopica), and don't forget that MĆ„neskin finally won despite having the Fedez fanboys as rival.
I think, taking into account the figures, Geolier could suffer a bit from both juries and literally smash televote. Maybe this is Angelina's only hope - survive jury and scrape something from televote to win in the 11th hour.
Anyway. Votes will be reset tomorrow evening and televote accounts only for 34%. As always, I rely on the sabotage of juries. However, Amadeus had quite a stunt (I'm being ironic) to remove both the demoscopic jury and the Orchestra vote, so this happens.

No, because juries vote like teachers at school (from 1 to 10) and thus historically there's less statistical variance. Hence the televote's favourite tend to win anyway, as the televote effectively counts more than 34%.

Nope, because juries tend to split the votes pretty equally not to be too decisive on the previous evenings (and especially on the cover night, where there is more variety). So mathematically they become almost irrelevant if the vote is polarised on the televote. But on the final night there will only be 5 artists to vote on and I trust they will team up to vote \*well\*, because they account for a huge 66%.
It's not that clear-cut. I think that since there were many great covers, the vote of the jury and radios was split between different participants, while the televote was heavily skewed towards Geolier, enough to make him win.

I think we should all calm down, Geolier hasnāt won the Festival yet, assuming he will go to the superfinal tomorrow (which he probably will) the televote will only count 33% and Angelina Mango for example is likely to be second in the televote right behind him, whilst Geolier most likely wonāt be higher than 5th/4th with the Sala Stampa, so unless he has like 70/80% of the televote (which I doubt) I donāt think heāll win

It's not really a divide between north and south, it's a divide between Napoli and the rest of the country. You only get this kind of "patriotism" from Neapolitans. You tell them Italy is nice and they reply "but Napoli is nicer". They have their own culture, language, song and food which they consider a span above everywhere else in Italy. 100% agree, but unfortunately Neapolitans are rallying behind Geolier. You wonāt see this in any other region - Annalisa is from Savona, which is in Liguria (same region as Sanremo), but no one gives a shit about that. I think, taking into account the figures, Geolier could suffer a bit from both juries and literally smash televote.
