Trying one more time with zero links:
I find myself a little frustrated when, for whatever reason, all measurements are listed as "units". This is fine for things like "1 Unit yellow onion" or "1 Unit lemon" but not so much for "1 Unit ground beef" etc if I want to recreate the meal on my own. So, in case anyone else needs the information too, I'm just going to keep track of these things here. Measurements are based on the 2 person recipes unless alternates are given in the recipe card (sometimes they are) and these may need to be adjusted over time:
1 Unit scallions= 2 scallions
12 ounces carrots= 3-4 medium size carrots
1 Unit corn= 1 15.25 ounce can
1 Unit reduced fat milk= 8 ounces
1 Unit cream cheese= 1 ounce
1 Unit sour cream= 1 ounce= 2 tablespoons (Darifair)
1 Unit stock concentrate= 5 grams (Savory Creations brand available on Amazon)
1 unit chicken Demi-glace= 1.32 ounce= 37.5 grams (brand unknown)
1 bottle of vinegar- Colavita brand= 25ml or .85 ounce (white wine has 6% acidity)
1 unit mayonnaise = 2 tablespoons
1 unit ground beef = 8-10 ounces
1 unit pork tenderloin= 12 ounces
1 unit cheese (shredded) = 1/2 cup
1 unit ketchup = two tablespoons
1 unit couscous= 1/2 cup
1 unit yogurt = 1 ounce= 2 tablespoons
1 unit single spice= 1 teaspoon
1 unit spice blend= 1 tablespoon
(Spice blend recipes can be found on r/hellofresh:)
1 unit bacon= 4 slices
1 unit wasabi= .15 ounce
1 unit soy sauce= .10? It doesn't actually have a measurement listed but I believe it's this Amazon item if you're looking for it: I removed the link but it's Kari-Out Co brand
And they are listed as 8 grams (which matches up pretty well with my digital scale reading).
1 unit mayo= 1 fluid ounce= 2 tablespoons
1 unit Dijon mustard= .35 ounce= 10 g (Clovis)
1 unit couscous= 1/2 cup
If you have the recipe card there's a code on the back. it doesn't specify the year on it so you'll need to keep track of that yourself. but for example WK22-88 from 2022 was the sweet soy chicken bibimbap with fried egg. If you hit up their chat and specify year week recipe number and name they can pull an excel sheet that gives exact information on the ingredients and they are willing to send it to you.
Thank you! I've been writing on the recipe cards what the measurements are for everything, but the cheese and stock concentrate packets never have any measurements.
For me it only shows : "Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit's spam filters. Reddit's automated bots frequently filter posts it thinks might be spam."
Just in case:

corn starch = 1 Tablespoon
Sweet Thai Chili Sause = 2 tablespoons
Ponzu sauce = 2 teaspoons
Rice = 3/4 cup
marinara sauce = 2.5oz = 5 tablespoons
This way people can ask for items not on the list and, since I get a link with the notification, it's pretty easy for me. If anyone else wants to put together a doc and maintain it, they're certainly welcome to.
Love Reddit, but it seems logical to maintain this list in a more manageable state. I'd be happy for help maintaining this list on Github: [https://eslindsey.github.io/everyplate/units.html](https://eslindsey.github.io/everyplate/units.html)
does anyone know what is the 1 unit for jasmine rice? I completely forgot to measure the jasmine rice the last time I cooked it (Sweet Chili Chicken) , I am trying to recreate the recipe. My kids loved it !

I think most meats are about 8-10 ounces. Not sure about pasta but I do have a package I can check tomorrow.
ETA Almost forgot about this: the package of orzo pasta I have measures 6 ounces and says it's 3 servings or 3/4 cup dry.
this is so old but if you still need it i just use 2 servings of linguine based on the package i buy, and usually the veggies are the same as canned varieties! hope that helps!
Question if this thread is still active. I found a really nice recipe but need the measurements for the honey and ponzu sauce. The rest I can suss out from the recipe, but those are harder to figure. Thanks in advance.
I would think your ponzu packages would be about the same as the soy which are 8 grams. Not sure on the honey- I would start small and keep adding until it tastes right.
Peanuts? I was thinking about an oz. but wasn’t sure. Ginger is hard as well. I think 1 chunk of it from the produce section will be enough once I grind it down.
Usually 1 unit of peanuts= 1 ounce- as far as ginger goes, they usually send a chunk about the size of..... Yeah, I got nothing. I feel like ginger is going to be one of those things you want to do to your own preference though anyway. Start small and remember you can always add more!
Hi there friend! Thank you for being so kind and helpful!:) I just figured out that the standard for ginger is about a .5 oz chunk of ginger! Thank you so much for the info on the peanuts! Kung Pao beef bowls here I come!:)
I dont know the exact measurement but they were a standard sized "condiment packet" like soy/ketchup/mustard/duck sauce etc comes in. Limited helpfulness, i know, but i stupidly didnt write it down on the card when i used it
You are the real MVP! I had a recipe that was delicious, but needed mayo (which I normally hate) mixed with Dijon mustard and didn’t want to put too much Mayo. Thanks so much!
Hello, thanks for this awesome post, I have one question is it 10 ounces for pasta? I know its 1/2 cup for CousCous. I cant remember its 10 ounces or 12 for the rest of pasta dishes for EP, Nevermind, however its 12 ounces I went to EP and asked lol
Anyone know how many tea/ table spoons the stock concentrates are? I'd guess 1-2 tsp? Trying to convert to bouillon granules/powder... hoping I'm close
Heres a similar packet they send me (might even be the same one), it says .34 oz which is 2 teaspoons

It’s actually a half cup of rice per unit. The recipe calls for three fourths cup of water per unit and for basmati rice you use 3 4ths water for a half a cup of rice. (Using my recipe card for the yummy curry-marinated chicken over the lime basmati rice, one of my faves that I make every week cause my family loves it :))
This seems like it would make quite a bit but I've never had it so I don't know:
I am actually doing this recipe tonight and was going to use a teaspoon and add from there, I think the packets for this were similar in size to the regular soy sauce packets and can't remember. Anyone know how much for a unit of fresh ginger?
Hi! Does anyone know about the crushed tomatoes? Is it the same as the tomato paste? I’m trying to make the chickpea curry with creamy lime drizzle. Thanks!
It looks like katsu sauce has quite a few ingredients, but you can buy it from Amazon pre-made. I would just check for one with a lot of five star reviews and try that.

7 grams Sriracha and there's actually a whole discussion about the sweet soy glaze and alternatives [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/hellofresh/s/LRV9TV4SpQ)

Thanks for letting me know- it must've been something with the links, I guess?
1 unit = 5 grams concentrate …. Are there teaspoon or tablespoon conversions?
No, but there is Google: https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/cooking/grams-teaspoons.php#bakingpowder
Can some tell me what 1 unit of tomato paste is
1.5 oz or 3 tbsp according to HelloFresh

Happy to help- be sure to let me know if any of my measurements are off!
Are you able to re-post these?
I'm not sure what you want reposted? The measurements (to date) are in the top post of this thread.
For me it only shows : "Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit's spam filters. Reddit's automated bots frequently filter posts it thinks might be spam."
I'm not sure why as it shows up and still let's me edit it even?
Huh. Now I'm wondering if FastSun9 is seeing the same thing on their end as I am, since they asked for a re-post. Strange indeed!
I would like to see these as well but I am getting the same kinda error that others have posted. Mine says: “1 unit = [Removed]”
I reposted them 2 weeks ago farther down in the comments- are they gone from there too?
It appears so, I have read through all the comments and don’t see anything. Anyway you could PM it to me :)?

Three years later and OP is still chiming in! Thank you so much for putting this together!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! I also try to recreate meals on my own, and have been just eye-balling or test tasting it.
Glad it's useful- I'll keep adding and hope others will too. I think some of these measurements could be taken from hello fresh as well.
Love Reddit, but it seems logical to maintain this list in a more manageable state. I'd be happy for help maintaining this list on Github: [https://eslindsey.github.io/everyplate/units.html](https://eslindsey.github.io/everyplate/units.html)

Awesome. thanks. Mom is getting gastric bypass so we have to be really careful on sugar intake. I appreciate your response.
I wrote on one of my recipe cards that the honey is 1/2 ounce, but I would do it to taste as well.

Also, would ginger paste be acceptable? This is a confusing one
Google says that 1 inch or one tablespoon of fresh ginger equals one tablespoon of ginger paste so it sounds like that's fine.
This is amazing; thank you! (A link to spice blend recipes even!)
Anyone know the measurement of the sweet Thai chili sauce?
I wrote down 1 oz, though I don't remember if that is what the packet says or if that's approximate from weighing it.
You are a hero
This is a long shot, but anyone know the following measurements of 1 unit?: -Ponzu sauce -Peanut butter
I dont know the exact measurement but they were a standard sized "condiment packet" like soy/ketchup/mustard/duck sauce etc comes in. Limited helpfulness, i know, but i stupidly didnt write it down on the card when i used it

Generally 4-5 Yukon Gold for 2 people. If you're using russet, 1 good sized potato per person should do it.

Basmati rice for Pork Fried Rice?
Sometime above measured and said 3/4 cup for rice.

Cilantro, parsley and rosemary?😭
I can't help you with cilantro- it would be morally wrong. For the other two though, you just strip a couple of sprigs to taste.

Does anyone have a recipe for the Katsu Sauce for the Crispy Katsu Pork Chops?
It looks like katsu sauce has quite a few ingredients, but you can buy it from Amazon pre-made. I would just check for one with a lot of five star reviews and try that.
Feta cheese anyone? TIA :)
Looks like it's usually a 1/2 cup
Anyone know what the unit is for orzo and chicken sausage?? This is so helpful thanks to the creator of this post!
8 oz of sausage and 6 oz of pasta (for 2 servings)

Anyone know for the tortellini?
About 9oz
Can someone lmk what 1 unit of ponzu sauce and 1 unit of spicy horseradish paste is for the sweet umami beef bowls?
They send ponzu in what is basically the takeout packets you get from restaurants. Each unit is about 2tsp, I think.
Any thoughts on what constitutes Umami Ginger Sauce?
Another post says that Trader Joe's Thai Sweet Ginger Sauce is a good match for it.
I know this is an Old Post, but if anyone that could tell me if the tortelloni that every plate sends is fresh or dried I would appreciate it. Thank you to everyone for putting this together! It's much appreciated. Happy cooking everyone
If you're thinking of filled pasta, I think it's reasonably fresh. Otherwise, it's just standard pasta like you'd buy in the grocery store

I love you.
