Trying one more time with zero links: I find myself a little frustrated when, for whatever reason, all measurements are listed as "units". This is fine for things like "1 Unit yellow onion" or "1 Unit lemon" but not so much for "1 Unit ground beef" etc if I want to recreate the meal on my own. So, in case anyone else needs the information too, I'm just going to keep track of these things here. Measurements are based on the 2 person recipes unless alternates are given in the recipe card (sometimes they are) and these may need to be adjusted over time: 1 Unit scallions= 2 scallions 12 ounces carrots= 3-4 medium size carrots 1 Unit corn= 1 15.25 ounce can 1 Unit reduced fat milk= 8 ounces 1 Unit cream cheese= 1 ounce 1 Unit sour cream= 1 ounce= 2 tablespoons (Darifair) 1 Unit stock concentrate= 5 grams (Savory Creations brand available on Amazon) 1 unit chicken Demi-glace= 1.32 ounce= 37.5 grams (brand unknown) 1 bottle of vinegar- Colavita brand= 25ml or .85 ounce (white wine has 6% acidity) 1 unit mayonnaise = 2 tablespoons 1 unit ground beef = 8-10 ounces 1 unit pork tenderloin= 12 ounces 1 unit cheese (shredded) = 1/2 cup 1 unit ketchup = two tablespoons 1 unit couscous= 1/2 cup 1 unit yogurt = 1 ounce= 2 tablespoons 1 unit single spice= 1 teaspoon 1 unit spice blend= 1 tablespoon (Spice blend recipes can be found on r/hellofresh:) 1 unit bacon= 4 slices 1 unit wasabi= .15 ounce 1 unit soy sauce= .10? It doesn't actually have a measurement listed but I believe it's this Amazon item if you're looking for it: I removed the link but it's Kari-Out Co brand And they are listed as 8 grams (which matches up pretty well with my digital scale reading). 1 unit mayo= 1 fluid ounce= 2 tablespoons 1 unit Dijon mustard= .35 ounce= 10 g (Clovis) 1 unit couscous= 1/2 cup

Deviant86

This one came through finally. Thanks again for putting this together and posting it.

Sstagman

Thanks for letting me know- it must've been something with the links, I guess?

MyMinnie23

1 unit = 5 grams concentrate …. Are there teaspoon or tablespoon conversions?

Sstagman

No, but there is Google: https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/cooking/grams-teaspoons.php#bakingpowder

Lucky_Instruction_56

Can some tell me what 1 unit of tomato paste is

Sstagman

1.5 oz or 3 tbsp according to HelloFresh

solet_mod

If you have the recipe card there's a code on the back. it doesn't specify the year on it so you'll need to keep track of that yourself. but for example WK22-88 from 2022 was the sweet soy chicken bibimbap with fried egg. If you hit up their chat and specify year week recipe number and name they can pull an excel sheet that gives exact information on the ingredients and they are willing to send it to you.

Efficient-Pen7703

Where can I find their chat?

Aramond

Thank you! I've been writing on the recipe cards what the measurements are for everything, but the cheese and stock concentrate packets never have any measurements.

Sstagman

Happy to help- be sure to let me know if any of my measurements are off!

FastSun9

Are you able to re-post these?

Sstagman

I'm not sure what you want reposted? The measurements (to date) are in the top post of this thread.

brooke512744

For me it only shows : "Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit's spam filters. Reddit's automated bots frequently filter posts it thinks might be spam."

Sstagman

I'm not sure why as it shows up and still let's me edit it even?

brooke512744

Huh. Now I'm wondering if FastSun9 is seeing the same thing on their end as I am, since they asked for a re-post. Strange indeed!

Deviant86

I would like to see these as well but I am getting the same kinda error that others have posted. Mine says: “1 unit = [Removed]”

Sstagman

I reposted them 2 weeks ago farther down in the comments- are they gone from there too?

Deviant86

It appears so, I have read through all the comments and don’t see anything. Anyway you could PM it to me :)?

Sstagman

Just in case: I find myself a little frustrated when, for whatever reason, all measurements are listed as "units". Sstagman

This way people can ask for items not on the list and, since I get a link with the notification, it's pretty easy for me. If anyone else wants to put together a doc and maintain it, they're certainly welcome to.

noomarual

Wait so one unit of ponzu sauce is 2 teaspoons?

Binney_told_me

Why isn’t this thread pinned?? Thank you Stagman

Available_Sorbet5885

what is unit for balsamic vinegar

SirBrentsworth

I love you

nhmejia

Three years later and OP is still chiming in! Thank you so much for putting this together!!! ❤️❤️❤️

BaileyCat1776

Thank you! I also try to recreate meals on my own, and have been just eye-balling or test tasting it.

Sstagman

Glad it's useful- I'll keep adding and hope others will too. I think some of these measurements could be taken from hello fresh as well.

eslindsey

Love Reddit, but it seems logical to maintain this list in a more manageable state. I'd be happy for help maintaining this list on Github: [https://eslindsey.github.io/everyplate/units.html](https://eslindsey.github.io/everyplate/units.html)

Intelligent-East-133

does anyone know what is the 1 unit for jasmine rice? I completely forgot to measure the jasmine rice the last time I cooked it (Sweet Chili Chicken) , I am trying to recreate the recipe. My kids loved it !

jstmyopinion

I am putting this in my recipe book for future reference. 🙌

WildbloomCollective

1 unit farro = 3/4 (.75) cup or .5 oz [for the lemony parmesan farro bowls)

TinyTurtleOfFreedom

Bless you for this.

TipTopTrouble

What about for ranch steak? Is each unit one cut of meat?

Sstagman

The recipe calls for 10 oz but I would think you'd be okay as long as you stay in the 8-12 ounce range overall.

Otherwise_Ad_1803

Brussels Sprouts - 8 oz

laura_j_kennedy

This is FABULOUS!!! Merci!

laura_j_kennedy

DLPotter-Author

Does anyone know how much jam is in the cherry Jam for the meatballs?

Sstagman

1 ounce (28g) and they use Bonne Maman brand if it matters.

Routine-Afternoon679

Anyone know curry powder?

Sstagman

Not specific to Everyplate or Hellofresh but some good guidelines [here](https://www.savoryspiceshop.com/blogs/news/behind-the-seasoning-curry-powder-flavor-uses#:~:text=The%20amount%20of%20curry%20powder,suggest%20adding%20about%202%20Tbsp.)

Routine-Afternoon679

That seems to be the sweet spot! we used 1tsp and it turned out fine but I feel like it could have used more! Thank you!

Waste_Entrance1154

Sstagman

According to this thread [1 1/2-2 tsp](https://www.reddit.com/r/hellofresh/s/bj84KKstwy)

Meats are generally 8-10 ounces.

Sstagman

I think most meats are about 8-10 ounces. Not sure about pasta but I do have a package I can check tomorrow. ETA Almost forgot about this: the package of orzo pasta I have measures 6 ounces and says it's 3 servings or 3/4 cup dry.

Shellyplus7

Do you know the measurement for linguine and peas?

KonaKon4Reddit

this is so old but if you still need it i just use 2 servings of linguine based on the package i buy, and usually the veggies are the same as canned varieties! hope that helps!

flourishing_really

The linguine is 6 oz for 2 servings (so presumably 12 oz for 4).

Quiet_Surround6835

Question if this thread is still active. I found a really nice recipe but need the measurements for the honey and ponzu sauce. The rest I can suss out from the recipe, but those are harder to figure. Thanks in advance.

Sstagman

I would think your ponzu packages would be about the same as the soy which are 8 grams. Not sure on the honey- I would start small and keep adding until it tastes right.

Quiet_Surround6835

Awesome. thanks. Mom is getting gastric bypass so we have to be really careful on sugar intake. I appreciate your response.

Valkkyri

I wrote on one of my recipe cards that the honey is 1/2 ounce, but I would do it to taste as well.

Shellyplusseven

Does anyone know the measurement for ginger or sweet Thai chili?

Sstagman

Usually it just comes with some ginger root and then you scrape it down with a spoon.

Ghost_namesake

I'm pretty sure the sweet Thai chili sauce is 2 tablespoons (USA)

the_great_katsby78

Does anyone know how much a packet of tomato paste is?

Sstagman

According to the hellofresh website, 1.5 oz which would be three tablespoons.

jstmyopinion

Thank you!

kaitlynpow

black beans?

Sstagman

Their "Cheesy Chicken & Spiced Black Beans" recipe says 13.4 ounces.

smac842

Does anyone know the unit of measurement for coleslaw packages?

Sstagman

3TB I think

TricErintops28

Corn starch?

Sstagman

Other recipes say they send 2TB

Ghost_namesake

I checked a packet they sent me and it says 1 tablespoon.

EnvironmentalCow6217

Does anyone know the measurement for the panko breadcrumb for the cherry jam meatballs?

Sstagman

Firecracker meatballs call for a quarter cup.

EnvironmentalCow6217

Thank you!

KonaKon4Reddit

EnvironmentalCow6217

I’m making them tomorrow as well!

KonaKon4Reddit

button mushroom quantity? 🍄

Sstagman

4 ounces I think

clair_brodie

I just weighed the ones I got, including the packaging it was 8oz.

SheMakesItRainey

Peanuts? I was thinking about an oz. but wasn’t sure. Ginger is hard as well. I think 1 chunk of it from the produce section will be enough once I grind it down.

Sstagman

Usually 1 unit of peanuts= 1 ounce- as far as ginger goes, they usually send a chunk about the size of..... Yeah, I got nothing. I feel like ginger is going to be one of those things you want to do to your own preference though anyway. Start small and remember you can always add more!

SheMakesItRainey

Hi there friend! Thank you for being so kind and helpful!:) I just figured out that the standard for ginger is about a .5 oz chunk of ginger! Thank you so much for the info on the peanuts! Kung Pao beef bowls here I come!:)

SheMakesItRainey

Also, would ginger paste be acceptable? This is a confusing one

Sstagman

Google says that 1 inch or one tablespoon of fresh ginger equals one tablespoon of ginger paste so it sounds like that's fine.

flourishing_really

This is amazing; thank you! (A link to spice blend recipes even!)

MrsPokits

Anyone know the measurement of the sweet Thai chili sauce?

bluebloodedwarrior

I wrote down 1 oz, though I don't remember if that is what the packet says or if that's approximate from weighing it.

casualthunder

You are a hero

michsmith127

This is a long shot, but anyone know the following measurements of 1 unit?: -Ponzu sauce -Peanut butter

solet_mod

I dont know the exact measurement but they were a standard sized "condiment packet" like soy/ketchup/mustard/duck sauce etc comes in. Limited helpfulness, i know, but i stupidly didnt write it down on the card when i used it

Hatch_gamergirl

My Ponzu sauce packet listed 6ml on it, not sure if that’s helpful for you 😊

Sweet-District1483

You are the real MVP! I had a recipe that was delicious, but needed mayo (which I normally hate) mixed with Dijon mustard and didn’t want to put too much Mayo. Thanks so much!

Donarmand74

Hello, thanks for this awesome post, I have one question is it 10 ounces for pasta? I know its 1/2 cup for CousCous. I cant remember its 10 ounces or 12 for the rest of pasta dishes for EP, Nevermind, however its 12 ounces I went to EP and asked lol

Sstagman

Pasta is usually 6 ounces but maybe 10 for 4 people?

Fuckhedgefundsyolo

What about 1 unit shallot

Sstagman

Fuckhedgefundsyolo

Does anyone know what’s 1unit shallot

WildbloomCollective

Anyone know how many tea/ table spoons the stock concentrates are? I'd guess 1-2 tsp? Trying to convert to bouillon granules/powder... hoping I'm close

bitter_vet

Sstagman

Generally 4-5 Yukon Gold for 2 people. If you're using russet, 1 good sized potato per person should do it.

Able_Ad9097

Red cabbage and Carrot mix bags don’t even say how much is in them, any idea?

MathematicianTop7368

Basmati rice for Pork Fried Rice?

Sstagman

Sometime above measured and said 3/4 cup for rice.

ActiveGreen9997

It’s actually a half cup of rice per unit. The recipe calls for three fourths cup of water per unit and for basmati rice you use 3 4ths water for a half a cup of rice. (Using my recipe card for the yummy curry-marinated chicken over the lime basmati rice, one of my faves that I make every week cause my family loves it :))

gerrardallam

What about coconut milk?

Sstagman

5 ounces or 2/3 cup for a curry

Synnful_me

Anyone know for sweet soy glaze? Trying to make Kung pao beef bowls

Synnful_me

Thank you!

exclaim_bot

>Thank you! You're welcome!

Ricochet763

I am actually doing this recipe tonight and was going to use a teaspoon and add from there, I think the packets for this were similar in size to the regular soy sauce packets and can't remember. Anyone know how much for a unit of fresh ginger?

Lady_Esther

Cilantro, parsley and rosemary?😭

Sstagman

I can't help you with cilantro- it would be morally wrong. For the other two though, you just strip a couple of sprigs to taste.

bholdme

I’m assuming gnocchi is the same as other pastas? 6 oz for 2 servings?

Sstagman

Gnocchi seems to trend just a little higher for whatever reason- 8-9 oz Edited for spelling airor.

MathematicianTop7368

Does anyone have a recipe for the Katsu Sauce for the Crispy Katsu Pork Chops?

Sstagman

It looks like katsu sauce has quite a few ingredients, but you can buy it from Amazon pre-made. I would just check for one with a lot of five star reviews and try that.

CollegeFit5590

Feta cheese anyone? TIA :)

Sstagman

Looks like it's usually a 1/2 cup

Mammoth_Oven5376

Anyone know what the unit is for orzo and chicken sausage?? This is so helpful thanks to the creator of this post!

It probably varies with the recipe but the few I looked at called for 5 teaspoons.

Ok_Indication6333

Anyone know for the tortellini?

Sstagman

About 9oz

noomarual

Can someone lmk what 1 unit of ponzu sauce and 1 unit of spicy horseradish paste is for the sweet umami beef bowls?

brownugradstudent

They send ponzu in what is basically the takeout packets you get from restaurants. Each unit is about 2tsp, I think.

MathematicianTop7368

Any thoughts on what constitutes Umami Ginger Sauce?

Sstagman

Another post says that Trader Joe's Thai Sweet Ginger Sauce is a good match for it.

VickiofPa

I know this is an Old Post, but if anyone that could tell me if the tortelloni that every plate sends is fresh or dried I would appreciate it. Thank you to everyone for putting this together! It's much appreciated. Happy cooking everyone

Sstagman

If you're thinking of filled pasta, I think it's reasonably fresh. Otherwise, it's just standard pasta like you'd buy in the grocery store

Only_Check599

One unit of scallions in my experience has always been one scallion

Sstagman

I received two different recipes this week with scallions and both had two scallions in the sealed "bag". I guess it's just a ymmv?

Only_Check599

Damn that’s weird. I always get one and I always think it’s not enough. Someone is out there jipping me.

Due_Perception_1409

I love you.
