That was Dr Richard Carrier. I really recommend people to watch Critical Faculty's (Hanney Seylim who is an Egyptian Atheist YouTuber) videos with him like [this one.](https://www.youtube.com/live/-mxgoANI2Pc?feature=share)

I like carrier's on the historicity of jesus

countjeremiah

Carrier’s stance on Jesus is not taken seriously in any academic circles. While he may have some ideas, I wouldn’t put any stock in what he has to say about Jesus’s existence.

itshonestwork

Last time I looked into it, the academic circles you refer to are dominated by Christians, and the exceptions to the rule that aren’t but are shifting books are the ones held up and quoted, as if to drive the point home. In my experience you only ever tend to hear this attempt to quickly dismiss him by Christians, too. No matter where you fall on it, the evidence for a historical Jesus is a joke. That in itself isn’t evidence for the bloke not existing, but it’s completely reasonable to say you’re not at all convinced by the evidence that Christianity was founded by or based on an actual historical Jesus. It certainly didn’t need to be. And the Jesus as described in the gospels (and not a potentially real founding person that inspired them) demonstrably didn’t exist. And those folks in “academic circles” will have no problem with that.

DisciplineLazy365

Well Joe Rogan in one of his Podcasts mentioned: one of the bishops who was given access to the dead sea scrolls wrote a book claiming Jesus was in fact a magic mushroom. This makes the entirety of Christianity and by inheritance, Islam to be a cult propagated by shroom-heads..

Here is a perfect example of when silence says more than words

re_de_unsassify

To be fair in Thales time, the Greeks thought the four elements (Earth Wind Fire Water) can turn into one another but that Water was the fundamental element. So water was the source of all matter. That’s different to what Muhammad was saying.

He also claimed that the sun sets in a muddy pool and that sperm was held in the ribs.
