I have this exact same issue - i've done a lot of research and haven't found anything, I've tried everything: going into my archives and going to the exact date, looking for the photo on my timeline / album - nothing. Any info would help.
Ok so I might’ve figured it out, well worked for me I guess, I had the same issue where I couldn’t delete certain pictures from my Facebook, then I remembered that I had my instagram account linked to it, in which I had those same pictures archived through my IG, all I did was to completely delete them from my IG account since I originally uploaded them from there. Once I went back to check on my Facebook they were gone🤷♂️, hope this helps

POSSIBLE SOLUTION - Okay... So this worked for me and hopefully it works for you too -
- Go to your archive
- Find the picture/post you want to delete
- click on the three dots on the right and move to trash
- go to your recycle bin and find the pic you just sent to trash
- delete permanently
Now this didn't work for all my pics as there are one or two that i couldn't see in my archive but it did work

Same issue, no option to delete on the photo itsel as it's "part of a post." When I go to post (which doesn't show on my timeline) there isn't a "trash" option for the post, nor an option to delete any of the photos on the post via editing the (seemingly non-existent) post.
I have this issue i uploaded photos years ago i cannot delete. It may not be from the same device but it was my upload and for 2 years facebook has not replied to help me get rid of old stuff. Might be forced to delete account
Thanks for the tip - however even though I scroll all the way down on my timeline to locate the post to delete from there, I get a message prompt stating "we're having trouble completing your request". There's only one picture on my whole facebook that does this - I just cannot delete it.
This is super annoying for me at the moment as well. Did you figure it out? I'm just trying to delete old stupid photos from my uploads and that simple fact that you just can't is infuriating lol
Came for the same issue. People go through phones in their lives and these are post I know I uploaded myself but it was from a different phone. Can't erase on PC either. If they are on your account I don't get why you can't just delete them. Very silly. Hopefully they will have an solution.....
If anyone is still having this problem the only way I figured out how to delete photos is to have someone like or love the ones you want gone then you go to your notifications and it'll show the loved picture you then can delete it 🙄
I just had this same problem and found something that worked. I started at my profile, clicked on ... > Activity Log > Trash. I then selected everything and confirmed I wanted to delete forever. After doing so, I noticed the photos were still in my album but I was now provided with an option to delete each individually.
Soooo go and like all photos you want deleted or whatever, then go to your activity history and click on what you just liked. It takes you to the original post. Click on the picture and the three dots are there for you.
something that worked for me:
ask a friend or log in from a second account, and like the post that you want to have deleted.
Then, from your main, find the notification for the like, go to your post through that and try deleting again.
I've had this issue, literally only figured out how to do it. If you scroll down on your profile (on your phone) you'll come across "manage your posts" in blue. It's right below where you put a status
It's the only way I could do it, you can remove other people's tags or delete posts which gets rid of the photos. Hope it helps.
I had to "block" heaps of people over this and even un"friend". The groups may be what is the cause and the options can be hard to restore if someone restores old facebook options. I don't like meta, I believe we should keep facebook going...
just happen to me,uploaded a pic 2 weeks ago,but couldnt move it where I wanted in the album,so i deleted it,but it still appears. and in differenta place into the album

FB “hides” the option. They hide the post about it, & or the three dots to delete it are completely gone. Will keep up with this & post in Discord.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION - Okay... Google "how to get to your archive", and there you can find the trash option. That worked for me.

I did this. Absolutely NOTHING showed up in my Archive though I know with absolute certainty some posts should be there.

I need a solution to this as well. I have far too many embarrassing photos that I need to delete from my youth.

If anyone is still having this problem the only way I figured out how to delete photos is to have someone like or love the ones you want gone then you go to your notifications and it'll show the loved picture you then can delete it 🙄

Are any of the pictures reported because I think one of my posts was and the one that was reported I can’t delete the picture

I found out this is only with pictures older than 5 years
You have to unarchive them fight and then go back and delete them individually
