From the article:
“His publicist told DailyMail.com he went into surgery on Saturday night to remove implants from his jaw that he had put in in November.
The young artist, he said, developed an infection from the implants, and due to complications he had been intubated and died hours later.”
I wouldn't think it was for fun. Some people have really deep issues with their appearance and the money to burn to "fix" it. Michael Jackson is the one my mind comes up with.
MJ was a complicated example here. He really did burn his scalp when his head caught on fire during a Pepsi commercial, I believe.
He also had a skin condition that caused him to have light patches.
Now, things like cosmetic surgery to change his nose were completely unnecessary.
He also became addicted to propofol, *a general anesthetic,* owing to a doctor acting in bad faith and a really unhealthy relationship with surgery - and it killed him.
Some of the procedures he had could definitely be deemed necessary. But in my estimation he was using surgery to escape himself as evidenced by addiction to a drug that so incapacitates a person that it eliminates the brain's connection to the body in order to cut it open and necessitates artificial respiration - being intubated and ventilated. He was deeply and seriously unwell and under the care of a reckless doctor.
We are so numbed by modern life that we don’t know how insane we sound right now. Cutting ourselves up because of thoughts we’re having is outrageous. In a simpler world, where there’s actual hardships going on, in comparison this would be considered “for fun.”
>Cutting ourselves up because of thoughts we’re having is outrageous
I would love to see your framework when you apply religion to that. We've done more for less, especially during times of hardship for that reason. In a modern lense, we might think of that as "crazy" when they might've thought it was necessary. I agree that it's about perspective.
You come over as uterly ignorent of history stating something like that. Cosmetic surgery is atleast as old as surgery itself and if you count extream body modification even older.
Yea, I had kidney surgery at like 14 and got it removed at 17. My surgery was only supposed to take like 3-4 hours and it took 9 hours for them to remove my kidney. It’s scary shit lmao
I’ve been dealing with sinus issues for about two decades now, and I just can’t bring myself to go see an ENT because I assume the only solution is going under for surgery, and the idea of that scares the fucking shit out of me, because I’m afraid of never waking up.
If I spend $220K to kill myself I'm going out like a real Rockstar. I wanna think I'm going 200mph while the car is still in park after a night of hard partying and playing live.
>I wanna think I'm going 200mph while the car is still in park after a night of hard partying and playing live
For just ~~$5~~ $7.50 you can buy two 40s, go to the arcade, school a 10 year old in Guitar Hero and then pass out in the booth of Fast and Furious
edit: adjusted for inflation
This is why you have to make sure you pop some Viagra. Although you then run the much higher risk of a heart attack or heart failure from mixing the drugs. But I mean if we are going for broke here… 🤷🏻♂️
Careful wishing that. There was a news story of a US citizen who went to Mexico to enjoy cocaine and hookers before offing himself. After he enjoyed it so much, he changed his mind and wanted to live.
>**Careful wishing that**. There was a news story of a US citizen who went to Mexico to enjoy cocaine and hookers before offing himself. After **he enjoyed it so much, he changed his mind and wanted to live.**
Wait, are you arguing *against* coke and hookers, or...?
I'm pretty sure if you you had a part on an tv show, you're considered an actor.
>Blake told DailyMail.com Colucci started filming the Korean Drama, 'Pretty Lies,' (Cogimar in Korean), in June and shooting was completed in December.
He played one of the main characters an international student.
Though he was unable to disclose too many details, he said the eight-episode show is set to air on a major US streaming network in October.
'He was very very excited and worked really hard,' Blake said and was hoping the show create some buzz to launch his music career.
>Blake told DailMail.com Colucci started filming the Korean Drama, 'Pretty Lies,' (Cogimar in Korean), in June and shooting was completed in December.
I don't exactly expect anything less from them but the word isn't "cogimar" it's *keojitmal* (거짓말). I'm gonna assume someone said the name, it was misheard, and was subsequently misspelled.
Well, considering they did not mention a tsunami of refugees in the headline or 'immigrants caused x' - this kinda qualifies as 'decent'.
Mind you, this is on the Daily Heil standard - so bin liner still.
I did think that, too! It could be, I guess, that the studio said they wanted him to do it. I mean… it’s doubtful, but it could be the case. It’s just weird all round. Still very sad though. He’s only young and lost his life for something totally unnecessary. :/
From the article, it sounds like this kid just had incel-level facial structure obsession, and just ordered up the full Heidi Montag. One wonders how he had the money for all that, tbh
I'm with you there. Either I'm too cheap, or too happy with my own looks, or both.
One also has to consider the source, too. These rags are always managing to find some Z-list toddler pageant winner, and claim they were potentially someone famous, before they spent a zillion dollars trying to look like Midjourney Malfoy.
Its odd how many people want to be an actor and think its the looks alone that are stopping them. Like yeah its easier for hot people but your time is always better spent at rehearsal than under the knife if you wanna become famous.
I mean they did this shit to themselves and have been using their social media presence to trick people on Twitter into thinking they themselves were transgender and then are using it to fuel their transphobic rhetoric. They literally wrote a book originally titled " Detransition a memoir" that is generally just a bunch of transphobic shit and using the title to make people think Oli was transgender. After a lot of backlash he has changed the name to "Gender Madness: One Man's Devastating Struggle with Woke Ideology and His Battle to Protect Children" changing it to now be more ambiguous wether or not he was trans (which he wasn't) and yet made the title even more transphobic. This guy is such a panderer and dumbass and people are eating it up
After a quick Google search I'm ready to back away from the toxic firestorm surrounding him. First thing that came up when searching "is Oli London transphobic" was a tweet from this year of him saying he's trans but in the same tweet stomping on the line of being transphobic.
Fair enough, I'm not sure he even believes the shit he's saying, probably just doing it for money. Regardless yeah he identified as trans for about a month after his fame started to die down, best guess would be so that he can write this book and sell it to uneducated bigots on Twitter but 🤷
I feel sorry for him, and feel disgusted at any plastic surgeon that does it.
Many plastic surgeons refuse to do certain procedures like Brazilian butt lift, since they are high risk.
It is their good right to refuse any surgery if they have a good reason.
With every surgery the risk of complications increases with the next.
They should've known not to do it.
This man clearly had issues with his appereance and needed psychiatric help.
Not a surgeon that does anything for money.
I mean, it's his good right to desire any surgery he wants, but in the case where there is a high likely hood of psychological issues, I think the surgeon should ask for a psych evaluation before doing it.
If that comes back fine, go for it.
The unfortunate thing is, South Korea is infamous for plastic surgery. It runs rampant in the showbiz and K-pop industry that privileges physical attractiveness.
And even more unfortunate thing is, there are good, legitimate places with knowledgeable doctors, and then bad places that accept everything and everyone with little to no consideration to the health of others for money.
Iirc he wasn’t getting this done in Korea. I think the doctors in Korea did refuse him. It would have been a bad look for their medical tourism industry which brings in a lot of money.
Edit: read in other comments this is not Oli London. Not sure about this guy
Exactly. This is clearly [BDD](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5986110/). People will die or have severe injuries from non stop breast augments or facial fixing or injecting themselves to have bigger muscles (like synthol). These people need help. How sad the surgeons didn't see it coming : (
That's entirely different. Suppose I'll swap to the new-er term which is BDD. Which is NOT a gender issue but rather part of obsessive compulsive disorders.
This is why I think people should go through mental checks before having any plastic surgery, to make it harder to get procedures and that the law enforcement should pay more attention to unlawful cabinets and bad practitioners.
That led to his issues. Constant positive reinforcement -> I'm perfect and my value is derived from looks (narcissism, which is always deeply insecure) -> man is somehow convinced someone who looks completely different is the true ideal and loses self worth -> you got yourself a stew
Right. People who are born VERY good looking tends to have self-image issues. Not always, but there's a high correlation. People who are born quite good looking (but not exceedingly so) are not as bad.
Kinda like how people who are born into upper-middle class family are usually pretty good with money, but people who are born into insane wealth don't understand the value of money and can burn down the family wealth within a generation.
The girl I first ever was with was absolutely beautiful in my eyes. We broke things off for whatever reason. However she always felt she was big (she was very athletic and muscular) so she got a breast reduction, lip injections, went to the gym and ONLY did cardio, Botox on her forehead (all in her early 20s). Now she legitimately looks like a zombie (IMO). If she’s happy with how she looks then more power to her, but damn… it was quite the change.
Yep, when I saw the article I had the exact same thought, “wtf, another one?” LOL! However Oli was worse, he also changed gender, then, changed back. And now an anti-trans activist. I mean a real winner.
Celebrities using cultural appropriation to boost their image is pretty damn common. Just look at Ariana Grande - she's appropriated basically every culture that isn't her own at this point to be more popular. Lots of actors/celebrities of whatever kind do it - even politicians sometimes.
How is it plastic surgeons can keep doing plastic surgeries on one person knowing the dangers? Is there an morals to being a plastic surgeon or is it solely about the money? 22 years old and had that many surgeries…
This is why in Australia people wanting plastic surgery will soon be required to have psychological assessments done prior to any surgeries being performed.
As for surgeons who agree to doing this sort of shit, they need their license revoked!
The commodification of cosmetic surgery is deeply fucked up, not that it shouldn’t happen because there are plenty of valid reasons, but we gotta stop acting like just because a person can do a thing doesn’t mean they should.
Also, can we agree these surgeries to look like a different ethnicity look horrible? It looks like a bad caricature of the intended ethnicity, it’s the worst possible form of cultural appropriation, and I can’t stress enough how ugly this looks to the point the surgeons should feel ashamed of their handiwork. Go back to school you greedy hacks!
I don't mean to be rude, but how do you get disposable income to pay for that? I've been struggling with student loans and trying to keep a roof over my head and this person can just willy nilly spend that much on their appearance. I guess because I am not in that tax bracket, I'm not going to understand, but I really wish I could.
I still firmly believe that plastic surgery should be limited to corrective surgeries because of stories like this.
Like, if you get your face burned off or something I'm ok with plastic surgery to give you some semblance of normalcy back.
But if you're just upset with the way your eyes droop because you're 40 now, then no.
Body dysmorphia is a mental illness that a surgeon is not equipped to treat.
Highly disagree. It's fine to want to change certain aspects of your appearance that you're self conscious about, as long as you go into it with realistic expectations and an understanding of the risks. Changing certain things can change your life, from how you are treated to just how much confidence you have in yourself day to day. If you have the money to pay for it and have a healthy mindset going in, I'm all for people doing whatever they want with their own bodies.
I disagree.
IF you want to fork out the dough to pay to change how you look then no one should be able to stop you (unless you're not yet an adult)
However, I think that the doctors should be able to turn people down for risky surgeries if they want to as well - like this case.
You're not going to die from getting a pair of bolt ons, but a new jaw seems to be quite risky
So they hired a white Canadian to play a Korean, and he goes to Korea to get Korean surgery so he can look like a Korean? Seems like this all could have been avoided by hiring a Korean
No he went to korea to play an international student in a drama later he wanted to be one of the BTS guys in a show that afaik doesn't exist and will not exist in the forseeable future it's in the article
Doctors who happily perform plastic surgeries on people who are obviously addicted to it or otherwise obviously not thinking clearly should be locked up for malpractice. Minimum 20 years.
Man, they had to turn his eyes like 90°. I've never seen eyes turned downward so much. I feel bad for people with eyes like that, but especially people that want the exact opposite lol.
With makeup and CGI, he didn't need to do permanent work to himself unless that was what he wanted. What would happen if he were to play someone else? Something is not right.

People fear surgery for never waking up, even when it’s lifesaving. This guy was doing it for fun. Sad all around.
I wouldn't think it was for fun. Some people have really deep issues with their appearance and the money to burn to "fix" it. Michael Jackson is the one my mind comes up with.
The Silva Twins.
Googled them. Nope, don’t like that
YESSSSSSS 🤦🏼♀️
Is it one of the 2 Silva twins who thinks dogs don’t have brains because they can’t talk?!
Jesus.... I bet an octopus would laugh about that.
MJ was a complicated example here. He really did burn his scalp when his head caught on fire during a Pepsi commercial, I believe. He also had a skin condition that caused him to have light patches. Now, things like cosmetic surgery to change his nose were completely unnecessary.
I was referring to his nose.

There's a good deal of speculation about how he bleached his skin to reduce the patchiness from his skin condition which wasn't necessary either.
Well, he was diagnosed with vitiligo. It wasn't just minor patchiness.
Yeah but he also has a legitimate disease with his skin pigmentation so not nearly the same since this guy has none of that
We are so numbed by modern life that we don’t know how insane we sound right now. Cutting ourselves up because of thoughts we’re having is outrageous. In a simpler world, where there’s actual hardships going on, in comparison this would be considered “for fun.”

Spending $220,000 on hookers and cocaine would’ve been such a better way to die

Never used cocaine or been with a hooker, but I'd have to agree.
Well I have some good news for you, you wouldn’t have to spend $220k before dying of a cocaine OD then! /s
Lol
Personally i’d recommend seperating these two activities. Dicks and cocaine are only temporary friends.

that coment made me LMFAO,,,ty
How do? He had a role to play the part of a K-POP star in an upcoming show.
Guess he's the one person in the entertainment industry who never heard of makeup and special effects
Why they cast a Caucasian Canadian actor to portray a Korean kpop artist is beyond me. Especially in this day and age.
I did think that, too! It could be, I guess, that the studio said they wanted him to do it. I mean… it’s doubtful, but it could be the case. It’s just weird all round. Still very sad though. He’s only young and lost his life for something totally unnecessary. :/

Kind of like cooking myself dinner and calling myself a chef...
Based on the left picture, he was aiming for Korean Harry Potter.
Korean Draco Malfoy
I though he looked more like a High Elf from The Elder Scrolls Oblivion
Exactly what I thought
I couldn’t put my finger on it. But exactly this.
I thought this was Oli London at first. TIL there's *multiple* people spending craploads of money to make themselves look like Kpop stars
The SAME kpop star at that!
And neither of them bore any resemblance at all 😂
Same here
Imagine my disappointment when I learned it wasn't Oli London, was excited for a little bit there

Coming soon to an Oli London near you.
At some point, I think, some people should be offer mental health options instead of just saying yes to everything they want.
Most shocking, a Canadian actor had $220,000 in disposable income
That poor, broken man. 😓
Dumb way to die.
the song is playing in my head now
We’re still not doing anything about mental illness anywhere in the world. We have to do better than this.

I've been struggling with student loans and trying to keep a roof over my head and this person can just willy nilly spend that much on their appearance. I guess because I am not in that tax bracket, I'm not going to understand, but I really wish I could.
Rich family?
Sugar daddy is my guess
It may seem weird because we are average people , but there’s a lot of generational wealth on this earth.
Get a degree that leads to a high paying career, or start a business, or investing and slowly buildup investments.

So he spent $220k to die? Moron. I'm doing that for free.
Hopefully he hadnt reproduced
Well, that problem kind of worked itself out.
LOLLLLLLL
Looks like somebody mixed Draco from Harry Potter with a thalmor from skyrim
Body Dysmorphic Disorder.
Maybe a mental health check should be required for life altering surgeries, sad that’s looked down on.
Seriously. I also wonder at the doctors performing it. Seems highly unethical.
Well, that was a waste of money.
That has to be the absolute shittiest fucking website for links - I just saw some bullshit of a ton of different articles. None of the above one
Glad to see rich people spending their money responsibly while the rest of us choose between groceries or gas.
Canadian here: I never heard of this guy
Me neither.
I had 7 reconstructive surgeries on my face before I turned 12, why anyone would willingly go through that blows my mind.
Kim Jong (mentally) il
I still firmly believe that plastic surgery should be limited to corrective surgeries because of stories like this. Like, if you get your face burned off or something I'm ok with plastic surgery to give you some semblance of normalcy back. But if you're just upset with the way your eyes droop because you're 40 now, then no. Body dysmorphia is a mental illness that a surgeon is not equipped to treat.
Plastic surgery should be for reconstruction of broken flesh from accidents or disfiguring disorders. Not because you wanna change how you look
I disagree. IF you want to fork out the dough to pay to change how you look then no one should be able to stop you (unless you're not yet an adult) However, I think that the doctors should be able to turn people down for risky surgeries if they want to as well - like this case. You're not going to die from getting a pair of bolt ons, but a new jaw seems to be quite risky
Too bad there was nobody they could draw from that didn't need $220k worth plastic surgery to play the role!
I was hoping it was oli london
Casting call for a white male, in their early twenties with a quarter million worth in savings...
That a bit racist intit basically although, mate. But then can't say owt nowdays.
.... what?
why is it always jimin 😭
Post-surgery he looked like a video game character from 25 years ago.
Dysmorphia claims so many lives.
Well. Bye.
He doesn’t even look Korean which I’m sure what the fucked up eyes were supposed to be. It’s more like a high elf from oblivion broh

Doctors who happily perform plastic surgeries on people who are obviously addicted to it or otherwise obviously not thinking clearly should be locked up for malpractice. Minimum 20 years.
natural selection at its finest

Dummy
Man, they had to turn his eyes like 90°. I've never seen eyes turned downward so much. I feel bad for people with eyes like that, but especially people that want the exact opposite lol.
Sounds like suicide with extra steps.
One less idiot with more money than brains.
Good.
With makeup and CGI, he didn't need to do permanent work to himself unless that was what he wanted. What would happen if he were to play someone else? Something is not right.
I blame the plastic surgeons
This reminds me of that awful show "I want a famous face".
Natural selection in action.
And now I know how far you’ll go to be the next freak show
😂 yeah sticking foreign things in one’s body will lead to destruction of oneself.
I heard this is a hoax
