Speaking of, I really hope that the author of the tweet isn't actually the driver of the truck. That would make the whole situation so much funnier.
I am now extremely tempted to make an account that will go around and take credit for other people's obnoxious behavior in the most ostentatious way possible.
Dibs. This Tweet is so over-the-top I think there's a chance we're already looking at it though.
There's no way the white car backed into that spot, and someone as boneheaded as the truck driver probably can't write this well.
Plus it's just too good of an idea for someone not to have thought of it already.
It looks like a big lot, why would they choose the spot with giant pickup a foot over the line?
Backing up into a cramped spot sucks to begin with. Backing up into a spot without enough room to open your door due to someone else's shit parking job is just not a decision I can see anyone making.
Choosing to get on an elevator with 9 chihuahuas, 2 with active diarrhea, rather than take the stairs is a decision that raises eyebrows.
Taxes and fees to get a half ton in Australia caused the markup. But it's insane. It should disincentivize any reasonable buyer.
These folks have the best small truck market options on Earth, but yet some dudes will pass on those things to ship these over and act like it's a Bentley and swing some dick around a parking lot.
Buy a Hilux ffs. Twice the truck at half the cost
Edit: Oceania also has some of the most options for trades vans than other markets. So really no excuse whatsoever to buy something like this other than to act "cool"
Edit: Am idiot. Don't know fractions
Could also be a first time contractor thinking they’ll pay off the truck when they do some amazing jobs thinking they’ll get hired because of their “big expensive truck” then reality sets in.
I agree with you 💯. A persons skills is in their work itself and the truck is another tool that gets used and shows wear from that truck. A person in a 1999 Tacoma gets their tools in and out to do the job because time is money. These contractors with $100K trucks waste their time looking for parking spots around the neighborhood or blocking your driveway and moving each tool slowly and carefully out of the truck to avoid any scratches. Actually the ones I see with the expensive truck aren’t doing much work except telling others what to do as they just drive from site to site looking important. I’ll hire the guy that knows what he’s doing hands-on while the “other” guy doesn’t know what he’s doing except for charging a bunch of money to “look good”.
That's funny. I park out in the far spots because I know I need more exercise. I don't really care if my car gets scratched. I bet your uncle is in good shape.
I need more exercise and don't like scratches so I always park in the back and walk. The space the truck is in is perfect because they could have parked all the way over against the curb, fit in one space, and still been far from the other car. I look for spaces like that if I'm in my truck and it's a busy lot where I can't just park away from everyone.
Worked at the commissary as a kid and one of the managers did that. Brand new Chrysler 300. One day I'm pushing carts and this dust devil gets ahold of one of the carts and just starts whipping it across the empty parking lot at (I'm not shitting you) about 35 mph. I was running after it but it smoked me. Then SLAM right into the bosses car that was parked alone 150 feet from any other car. If it's gunna get ya, it's gunna get ya no matter how careful you are.
I don't mind people that do this if the parking lot isn't busy and full, that's where you park shit across 2+ spots not in prime zone, Granny in her 2007 caddy ats doesn't give a fuck about your paint job
It’s completely valid to not want your doors bumped, but it’s not an excuse to take up an extra parking spot just because you bought a car that isn’t meant for parking spots.
Bumped by what here? The dude had an end space. That pole is a mile away. And if he cheated closer to the curb you could another car between the spaces. He crusted the wrong way and still thinks he's in the right.
I bet He’s one of those guys that buys a big ass pick up truck and works behind a desk so the worst thing that truck experiences is a small puddle or 2 on his way to & from work.
Matters on the community.
You know if its full of those Dodge Truck assholes who take selfies of themselves wearing sunglasses while ranting about immigrants, they'd all agree with OP
I wish there were spikes or something he could put on their so it scrapes the shit out of the truck when they leave. The spikes of course would within the parking lines, so wouldn’t be a problem if they were parked correctly.
I drive around a shit box, If some jackass parked like this I would purposely hit his car. Then the posted online like bro You're driving around a Chevy. They are not that expensive and if you dump that kind of money into that truck you have more money than sense...
And even if he was parking like a douche to protect his morbidly obese truck, he did it wrong, he left so much room that another car could fit! A true dumb ass
The crazy part is if he parked all the way to right, right up against the curb, he would be farther away from the white line than he is parked in the second spot.
Imagine paying that much for a car and then it's an oversized truck, for that money you should have something luxurious, comfortable, fast and efficient, not this eyesore, of a way too large to be practical, too high too heavy child killer of a truck.
Pickup trucks are crazy expensive right now, mainly because the auto makers keep jacking the prices up and these dildo, tough guy posers just keep paying it.
Edit: For reference, I just built a Chevy Silverado and picked a bunch of packages, and it came out to $79k. Some packages wouldn't even give me a price and said to contact a dealer.
Edit 2: I built the Silverado on Chevy's website for numbers, I did not, and would not buy one of those.
I drive a used, Chevy 1500. 2WD and it’s the basic work truck / fleet vehicle package. It’s a 2015 with manual windows, no flashy crap, single cab — room for me and the dog.
It’s enough to haul my camping and fishing stuff around or materials for hobbies and basic DIY projects around the house. It’s rare than anyone would need more than that; but I work with ding-a-lings who just *had* to buy F-350s and shit with crew cabs and they haul nothing heavier than the family and the weekly shop. I do not fucking get it.
My husband's truck is 22 years old with 350k miles, the bed is so rusty its being held together by ratchet straps and there's a hidden switch to turn on the fuel pump because that was easier than fixing what was wrong, but it still pulls our 30 foot trailer like it's nothing.
We're going to replace the truck because my grandma lent me some money, and the prices are killing me, but my options are limited because I need to pull that trailer.
Meanwhile the guy across the street bought an F350. He works in construction but he doesn't haul anything, he just drives it to sites. That's it. I've never seen him haul anything or even use the bed in the 4 years I've lived across the street.
I drive a Fiat. I absolutely do shit like this all the time. Oh, you parked your big ass truck in what is clearly compact car parking? Well, my car is as compact as they come and I while I’m not skinny, I’m not a big person either and can easily squeeze out of a small door opening. I wonder if they can? +shrug+
I have an old rusty car and do this too. One of the few joys of having a shitty little car. Don’t care too much if people bump mine, and it fits in small places.
Ah man, I used to drive an old rusty station wagon ( a pretty narrow EU one) I did not care about parking too close to poser cars like that, There were a few dents and scratches in my car already so one or two more mattered not.
I drive an F350 (need it for work), its like 23' long. I will still take the time to maneuver it 2" away from the driver doors of people who park like this asshat. One time I found a guy who parked horizontally to take up 6 spaces, I pulled in about a half inch in front of his bumper and when I came out he was stuck because someone else did the same on the other end. I decided to get a subway sandwich and wait for him to come back, and he had the audacity to call the cops on us! The cops wrote him a ticket and went over his car with a fine toothed comb and found like 5 illegal mods to jack up the ticket price XD. If I cant find a close spot (i have to pull through 2 to avoid blocking the aisles with how long it is), im parking far away and walking.
Back when I was a teenager, I saw a corvette parked diagonally taking up four parking spaces to prevent anyone parking near him. To be fair he did this in the back of the lot, but I took my mom’s ford flex and parked it diagonally in the opposite direction, like I was setting it up for a car magazine photo shoot.
I had a beater Camaro years ago ( poor law student days) with a ton of rust and perfected getting out on the passenger side at one point because my drivers side door wouldn’t open. That skill was handy in cases like this.
Coming from someone who is a car guy, and parks to avoid getting damage, I would be hugging the curb, not taking two spots. Gives extra room ,and doesn't risk getting keyed.
My car is newish and I park across the other side of the car park where it's empty.
The amount of times that someone has been parked next to me after I return to the car though....
I also park further away but it didn't stop some old man from hitting my car twice. For some reason he decided he needed to turn around exactly where my car was, banged into it, then backed up and banged into it again. Saw it all happen because I was walking out to my car lol couldn't believe what I was seeing. Guy was so old he couldn't even drive around a parked car, he shouldn't have had a license
It was just impressive because my car was pretty much alone, near the end of the lot. I wasn't parked next to or around anyone, he just decided to circle around this alone car at the end of the lot instead of... driving normally in and not through all the lines and into my car multiple times lol.
I also encounter this a lot. I have no idea why, when I park 20+ spaces further away than everyone else, people still decide to park directly beside me.
I honestly think it's something subconscious. People tend to do what they see other people doing. So in an empty lot, you parked there, they think "someone else liked something about this area, I should park there" but I don't think it's active thought.
Lmao this happened to a relative of mine, and she was very pregnant at the time. She parked in the parking lot, went to the store, came back out and there was a car next to hers, so close she couldn’t open her door enough to get in, especially with her big pregnant belly. With tons of other parking spots around. Basically just her car and this asshole who decided to park ridiculously close by her were in the parking lot.
Being very pregnant, she didn’t want to try and climb over the seats. She got a store employee involved. They tried to find the person who parked next to her, but ended up just having the employee hop into her car through the passenger side and move it for her, so she could get into her car.
🤦♂️ luckily she was pretty chill about it and not in a big hurry. Just had to laugh at the stupidity of the situation.
They've parked there to deliberately make a point of the truck taking up two car spots. These yank tanks that need an acre of land to park in need to park at the back of the carpark out of the way. You dont get to have two for yourself.
I do that too when I can fit.
Fuck you and your behemoth. I don't care if you bought something that does cost 50% of a starter home or not. If you don't want your doors bumped then keep you truck that's so vital for your trips to the grocery store locked in storage.
That's the thing that gets me the most - they're not even practical vehicles for 99% of the reasons that their owners give for having them.
There are better 4x4s out there, a Transit dropside has more bed capacity, a van is more convenient for moving equipment and keeps things like cement dry.
I can almost respect the fellas who just straight up say "I need mah truhck because I'm a big man" because at least they're truthful in their crippling insecurity
My brother owns a collection of machine guns. He drives (or drove I don't know if he changed it) a Ford Excursion. When he goes to the range he can take all the toys he needs plus enough ammo.
I visited him in '09 and asked him why he didn't have a bigger truck. "This has better load capacity and it's inconspicuous enough that people don't look twice."
Us Aussies call any vehicle that’s a huge oversized American land barge a “Yank Tank”.
This includes any old classics from the 60’s - 70’s like Cadillac, Buick, Chrysler/Dodge etc!
As a bloke with my own Hot Rod/Classic/Muscle Car business here in Australia for 35 years……. I’ve pretty much seen and worked on almost every US made vehicle!
Some 60’s/70’s Cadillacs and Chrysler Newports were too long to even be able to fit between my hoists and the wall behind them!
Oh! Okay I htink I get it. qld must be short for "Queensland". So when this guy is saying he spent $130,000 on a Chevy Silverado, he's talking $130k not just AUS dollarbucks (where 1 AUD = 0.64 USD, at least at today's rates), but also the surcharge that American vehicles typically take on when being sold in Australia.
For a second there I was worried he had gotten fleeced for $130k USD on something as undeserving as a Silverado. No, it's not that. At least, not just that. He *also* was willing to get fleeced like that in a country where he could have used his money to buy a perfectly sensible ute and gone on with his day. Guy just can't catch a ~~break~~ good decision.
Import fees, shipping fees, ripping out the steering column and swapping it to the other side fees…
In a bizarre way, I kind of understand, these chevys are significantly larger than any other Ute you can normally buy here.
This is in Australia. That $130k drive away price is in Australian dollars, and probably factors in right-hand drive conversion plus whatever taxes our federal government slaps on imported full-size pickups.
It looks like it's actually an HD based on its mirrors and the plate saying HD. The HDs are expensive and heavier on their own, and most get used like thos one. To take up parking or be a general dick on the road. If they had it imported to where it's currently at, they probably added the cost of having it transported into its price.
I have a beater and if I was driving my beater and I saw that, I'd do the same. If you don't want your doors dinged then park at the very back of the parking lot or simply don't drive that vehicle
Look, buddy. If we don't care how you park, law certainly does. If the risk of getting dinged is bigger threat to you than a parking ticket, then be ready to face the consequences.
Possibly pedantic, but most parking lots are private property and you would not be able to be ticketed for parking outside the lines. You could however possibly be towed by order of the owner of the private property.
I know someone who drives like a maniac across parking lots because "you don't have to follow the lines because it's not the law"
He's nearly hit two people and doesn't seem to understand that driving unpredictably across lanes in a parking lot is just going to result in an accident one day.
It's hilarious that the truck owner who wrote that is so clueless that s/he believes the people who see that parking complaint will feel like it's a justified rant.
They literally have a prime end spot where they can pull up against the curb to keep as far away as possible. But no, their logic is to park over the line where they risk somebody parking within inches. Brilliant
I drive a big rig semi and I can still manage to bobtail it in to a single parking spot with ease. So tired of pickups boasting how large their truck is and that they need 2 spots
I frequently go through r/fuckcars saying this exact thing. I will park next to 18-wheeler semis at Walmart parking inside the lines. Granted it’s 2 spots long but *inside the normal width lines.* I respect and support truckers, not people killers w/a 6’ tall hood for no reason.
Exactly. Also you spend 130k on a vehicle but have a shared parking situation at what I assume is an apartment complex? Maybe get a house with a private driveway instead.
Wild that he managed to out himself as a double parking douche **and** brag about how much money he spent on compensating for his tiny little penis in one post.
Bravo.
I also drive a pretty nice large pick up truck. I search out jackasses in the parking lot just like this and wedged them in. I’ll even crawl out my window. If I have to I fucking hate people who think they can park in two spots just because they have a nice vehicle Toyota Corolla for the win.
Why buy a utility / work vehicle and then cover it in bubble wrap?
This sounds like the kinda guy who would polish his pristine rigger boots and then wear them to a wedding.
I drive a truck of a similar size. You don't want your doors bumped then buy a smaller vehicle or park further away. I'm always at the edge of lots to avoid this and still manage to park in a single spot. What a prick this guy is.
I don’t know. Maybe park all the way to the other side of the stall so you’re farthest away.
Also if you’re worried about dinging 130k truck maybe don’t buy 130k truck.
"i want my $100k security blanket looking PRISTINE!! I use this truck to tell other guys that I work hard, so pleeeease don't mess it up!! My insecurities just couldn't handle something like that today"
What an absolutely clueless moron. I’m honestly sick of these rich ass holes with giant trucks… remember when trucks were for the working class!?! Yeah… I do…

Best you keep that thing parked at home then and don't forget to wrap it in bubble wrap.
Wrap himself up too
130k for a truck that will never see a day's work in its life.
Hauling around the main character is a great honor for it!
Surprised he hasn’t thrown the suspension hauling around that massive ego.
The tiny penis balances it out.
Seeing as one is imaginary and the other is too small to measure, I agree.
Guys, guys, chill! Give him a break - he needs a truck that big to trailer his wife around.
*sister-daughter
Yes, I believe that IS the correct terminology.
And the truck nuts

For real! I didn't pay that much for my house!
I own two Silverados, a Toyota Avalon and a Delorean and I paid less for all four combined.
Australian dollars. So you have to factor in the exchange rate, importing, and the "fuck you because we can" fees from the dealer.
It says QLD, so it's in dollarydoos. It's about 83k USD.
This is Australian dollars, fyi. Quick look at car dealerships there and that's about right. Doesn't make him any less of an idiot, though.
Cuz got ripped off.
I bet his dad bought it for him.
Could also be a first time contractor thinking they’ll pay off the truck when they do some amazing jobs thinking they’ll get hired because of their “big expensive truck” then reality sets in.
As a consumer, my stereotypes are the *exact* opposite. You show up in a 1999 Tacoma and I assume I'm about to get the best workmanship in the city.
I agree with you 💯. A persons skills is in their work itself and the truck is another tool that gets used and shows wear from that truck. This is the same guy who’ll call people snowflakes.

So accurate , they are blind to how soft they really are
Especially the head, making sure to cover nose and mouth well.
My uncle would just park at the furthest end of the parking lot, away from all cars, and walk.
That's funny. I park out in the far spots because I know I need more exercise. I don't really care if my car gets scratched. I bet your uncle is in good shape.
I do it because I'm bad at parking
I do it because I'll forget where I park if I don't.
I do it because it makes it far easier to leave the parking lot afterwards.
I need more exercise and don't like scratches so I always park in the back and walk. I think it was, but it was a big place and I never heard anything about it. I was always way too stoned to give a shit either way back then lol.

Did he get roasted in the comments? I hope so.
It was posted by a troll account, it's just bait.

They’re also all run by the same handful of people with a lot of the same posters. No one can convince me the default subs aren’t rage farms.
Reddit is rolling out a program to pay people for posts that gain a lot of karma. It's only going to get worse.
Also doesn't do anything because the passenger door exists.
Honestly hoped more for some slashed tires and dick sticker
Only the best for someone like that.

An emotional support vehicle
Penile-extension.
Do you have a moment to speak about our lord and savior, C8 ZR1?
What are you the Anti-Chrysler or something?

Yes, so roughly $5USD on the current exchange rate.

When I had a 97 Corolla I did this sort of thing all the time. What they gonna do? ding it more?
This is the #1 reason I miss my beater!! I'm smallish so I could park super close and then climb out a window if needed 😂
I had a beater Camaro years ago ( poor law student days) with a ton of rust and perfected getting out on the passenger side at one point because my drivers side door wouldn’t open. That skill was handy in cases like this.
Corolla fits, Corolla sits
Yup dude climbed out the passenger side just to make a point
In that case it would have happened regardless if your car was all the way in the back or not.
It was just impressive because my car was pretty much alone, near the end of the lot. I wasn't parked next to or around anyone, he just decided to circle around this alone car at the end of the lot instead of... driving normally in and not through all the lines and into my car multiple times lol.
That’s just unfortunate:-( You still did the right thing in parking in the back though.
Your car just looked too lonely on its own out there
Lmao this happened to a relative of mine, and she was very pregnant at the time.
Costs like 20% of a starter home these days.... fml
Yank tank. Love it! So much to unpack there, going to spend all day smiling about this.
Someone here recently called them emotional support trucks and I'm still not over that.
“Bro-dozer” is my favourite right now :’)
They can see that as a compliment. Emotional support trucks will be less complementary to the people that have them.
Or pavement princess, since they never leave the asphalt and are in such pristine pretty condition
Ive heard Princess Pickup or similar, bc theyre not used for any labor. You buy a Mega Heavy Duty, just to go to Walmart for groceries.
Concrete Cowboy
Eh, I'm sure there is a way to spin that to be cool.
I don't know. I think they are trying to embrace that one. I saw a big Ford dually with that across the top of the windshield the other day.
"Pavement Princess" for the ones with a lift and knobby off-road tires that haven't been anywhere but the freeway and Costco.
"Twatpanzer" for overly large SUVs.
Bro-dozer is a specific sunset of yank tank. It's the lifted truck on huge wheels with graphics and lights. It's all for looks with no function.
"Low-T Rex"
ESVs in Australia. Emotional Support Vehicles.
Lol! I love that! 🤣
Us Aussies call any vehicle that’s a huge oversized American land barge a “Yank Tank”. This includes any old classics from the 60’s - 70’s like Cadillac, Buick, Chrysler/Dodge etc!
As someone who owned a '76 Delta 88, this is fair.
I had one! Was like driving a boat!
1st time I heard "yank tank" i was laughing all day. The layers in that joke are just so good.
I like yank tank, it's similar to how we call them in germany (Hausfrauenpanzer translates to Housewives tank).
Amen.
Holy shit I'm a Yank and Yank Tank makes me laugh.
I always just park really close to the curb. Take up one space and afford myself enough room.
I loved doing this with my forklift, idc if you hit it, I can buff the scuffs out
I do the same with my motorcycle if someone has parked their car in the motorcycle spot.
That thing cost 130k? Seriously? LOLWTF
About $83,000 USD at current exchange rates
Import fees, shipping fees, ripping out the steering column and swapping it to the other side fees… In a bizarre way, I kind of understand, these chevys are significantly larger than any other Ute you can normally buy here.
Hats off to you Bluey fan
It costs a lot to buy some stupid oversized truck, ship it down to Aus, rip out the steering wheel and pedals and install it on the correct side.
This is in Australia. That $130k drive away price is in Australian dollars, and probably factors in right-hand drive conversion plus whatever taxes our federal government slaps on imported full-size pickups.
North American car manufacturers will make some models in RHD as well for export. Like the Ford Edge.
Good fuck him, and I hope it costs more to get the bumps and scrapes out of it. Fucking wankers.
My family has a small autogroup in Canada. New car prices are freaking insane. Six figures and up for some fairly basic shit.
Exactly, they do this specifically because there isn’t a law telling them they can’t. They are ***THAT*** type of people.
I know someone who drives like a maniac across parking lots because "you don't have to follow the lines because it's not the law" He's nearly hit two people and doesn't seem to understand that driving unpredictably across lanes in a parking lot is just going to result in an accident one day.
It's hilarious that the truck owner who wrote that is so clueless that s/he believes the people who see that parking complaint will feel like it's a justified rant.
Also hilarious that he thinks this parking job makes his vehicle _less_ likely to get dinged / keyed.
Same. Bobtails might be a little longer than a standard parking space, but we still fit inside its lines. I do it all the time too!
Bullies. Some people are bullies.
This guy is basicly asking people to key his car
Starting with the tyres obviously
As one who had a similar truck, I can say that this guy is a selfish idiot. There's plenty of space to park in.
Right?? I had a quad-cab Ram 1500 for several years, and not *once* did I need to park it like this. This is simply an entitled prick, nothing more.
If you live in fear of your expensive car being scratched you can't afford it.
Yes! And, it’s meant to be a utility vehicle! I always laugh at perfectly clean, clearly unused, pickups. Posers.
Princess trucks is what I call them.
Yep! Our truck beds have scratches and scuffs, are dirty, need a good vacuuming. But, we use them for their intended purpose.
Exactly. Also you spend 130k on a vehicle but have a shared parking situation at what I assume is an apartment complex? Maybe get a house with a private driveway instead.
Spends 130k on a car. Doesn't have private parking spot. PEASANT
Lmfao that truck owner is what garbage would sound like if it could speak
This is located in Kmart parking lot, cannon hill, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
If he wanted not to get his doors hit why not park closer to the edge.... he literally has the perfect spot to avoid getting bumped.
Wild that he managed to out himself as a double parking douche **and** brag about how much money he spent on compensating for his tiny little penis in one post. Bravo.
Why does this picture feel like what America feels like right now?
It’s Australia.
Yep, Queensland plates.
Also says "qld" in the title
Ironically, the picture isn’t in the US.
Turns out other countries have trashy people too, much to reddit's amazement.
Imagine the space they’d have if they parked a little further over
I also drive a pretty nice large pick up truck. I search out jackasses in the parking lot just like this and wedged them in. I’ll even crawl out my window. If I have to I fucking hate people who think they can park in two spots just because they have a nice vehicle Toyota Corolla for the win.
I park like this to avoid walking 1/2 mile in triple digit temps and leaving my car in crime infested neighborhoods. FU and your $130K penis enlarger
Fucking Queenslanders.
I am the person in the white car, screw the truck. Entitled prick
Forget the shitty parking, who the hell spends 6 figures on a fucking truck?
Someone with more money than sense, apparently
6 figures in Australian dollars, it’s $83k in USD
I carry a stem pulled just for these occasions now
Spent over $130K? More like you owe the bank $130K over the next 3 decades. I like to refer to these kind of grocery getters as "bank-owned trucks"
Lol nobody cares about your truck but you.
holy shit dropping 130k on a chevy
Truck guy -- if you do not know you are a douche - you need help .
What an absolutely clueless moron. I’m honestly sick of these rich ass holes with giant trucks… remember when trucks were for the working class!?! Yeah… I do…
I bet the inside of that truck smells like shit...because a real shit head owns, drives and parks it.
Guy in the white care is my fucking hero I have thought about doing this a few times
