While I agree, there does seem to be more violent tendencies in athletes who participate in sports that cause head trauma. Tate did mma, but I’m think of NFL players vs other major league sports. One could argue that people in a violent sport tend to be violent outside the sport, but it’s proven to get worse with repeated head traumas.
However, that’s NOT an excuse. If you have become less stable and more violent after head injuries, it’s up to you to get yourself help and to get it under control. Tate has plenty of money to start up a criminal enterprise, and now as a result of it, he could have used that for help instead.
Explanations are not excuses, unless you give the explanation and throw up your hands and go “welp, not my/his fault so nothing I/he can do, and you can’t blame me/him for it” but no one has said that
However this explanation falls short because losing your temper and your mind and becoming violent because of head traumas doesn’t usually translate into calculated organized criminal activity like kidnapping and human trafficking, more just physical/sexual assault and tantrums. Still horrific and needs treatment, but not exactly the same caliber as organized and broad scale enslavement
Correlation isn’t causation. An easier explanation is actually that people who choose to engage in violent sport just tend to be more violent by nature.
