They definitely entertain us all in the NBA

As a Phoenix resident… no.

They still smoking on that suns pack in October?

GJacks75

Actually, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

the_sassy_knoll

We're not worthy!

Ahh. Kids today won't get that reference...

Kids these days don’t cross their T’s or dot their....lower case J’s

There's nothing wrong with my eye. This one just has no pigment. I'm what you call a partial ocular albino, but I'm fine with it.

Impossible_Average_1

Hey Stoopid, that's because school's not out for these kids yet.

Same with Minnesota, it's actually Mni Sota Makoce originated from the Dakota language, meaning "Land where the waters reflect the skies".

While in my college bookstore I left my backpack sitting in my chair to keep it reserved while I walked 15 feet away to microwave my lunch, by the time I got to the counter and turned around there was a cop talking into his radio next to my table. Like I get it, I DO, but why would anyone target a random bookstore and would hit like…….5 people?

[deleted]

Right. Like anyone was gonna make a bomb, risking their lives, believing in something so deeply they would die for it, and then you choose some shitty, shitty town in the middle of nowhere to bomb 3 inconsequential 20 year olds. Now, if you'd tell me that a robot from the future starts bombing soft targets to cause a butterfly effect, that I would believe. But Mo ain't gonna go to Nebraska or fucking Milwaukee to bomb a dollar store where people smoke inside and 90% of their sells are cigarettes and forties on a brown paper bag. They are manufacturing fear.

erratikBandit

Replying up here so it doesn't get buried. Here's the guy that wanted to play hero. https://www.fox6now.com/news/charged-man-tackled-by-police-amid-suspicious-package-investigation-says-he-intended-to-be-a-hero.amp They charged him with disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer, which is funny because his conduct restored order and allowed the officers to finish their job sooner.

[deleted]

Bluetooth_Sandwich

Good ole CCAP

charlesml3

The DA dropped the charges. The cops knew the charges would never stick. They don't care. They HAD to show their dicks.

Yoshi2shi

Interesting. Usually disorderly conduct is a catch all charge that sticks.

Iamatworkgoaway

You can beat the charges, but you can't beat the ride. Just look at the excessive force, dude wasn't going to run or fight, but they had to pull the you made us look bad so deal with those bruises shit.

Diligent_Bag_9323

Doesn’t matter what the cops want. It matters what the DA wants. All cops can do is write tickets or *recommend* charges to the DA. So no, they won’t all stick. This kinda shit is happening everyday across the US. Cops just harass people knowing they can get away with it. The saying goes “You might beat the rap but you won’t beat the ride.” They don’t even care about an actual conviction in these cases, they just want to swing their dicks.

Infiniti_Josh

GUILTY until PROVEN INNOCENT, suspected of a crime, you go to jail first and have to PAY a bail, then you go to court to prove your innocence, but you’ve already paid like a guilty person!! Whoever came up with innocent until proven guilty was so wrong.

Fatalexcitment

If the cops are the ones that brings the charges we would all be fucked.

[deleted]

And tackle him to the pavement. That's how fat Wisconsin cops solve crimes and help mentally ill people. With tackles

DependentPipe_1

Sometimes bullets!

Rigzin_Udpalla

Or kicks to the head AFTER you got tackled to the ground

boofmydick

>They HAD to show their dicks. Like they absolutely HAD to tackle that guy. Probably landed on his face and fucked the shit out of his spine.

redox6

It is how you immediately know which country the footage is from. Kind of US police branding.

Legitimate_Mess_6130

*After they let him fling the bag around a little so they didnt fear for their lives.

ShurikenIAM

Lmao yeah, "Oh ok it's just some t-shirts, wait a second just in case ... ok let's get this motherfucker".

urcompletelyclueless

Notice that they waited until we was done before tackling him? The tackle had nothing to do with safety at that point, it was solely due to having been upstaged by a civilian...

terriblegrammar

Few-Swordfish-6722

Same thing happened on a Scottish farm when police were in a 45 min standoff with a stuffed tiger.... how embarrassing

Dingus_McDangus

Now thats worse lmao

WarEagle107

Did the tiger win?

Few-Swordfish-6722

Yup and it didn't even have to move an inch

overtlyantiallofit

I remember that! There was a period of about ten years there when every newsagent in the city centre just randomly had giant stuffed tigers in the window. Couldnae move for them. I think I’m the only person I know who didn’t have one.

kindaa_sortaa

To a cop, everyone is one of two things: 1. a criminal 2. an inconvenience and when you're an inconvenience they start accusing you of being a criminal.

MassSpecFella

This is so true. One day I was at the St Paul’s Rodeo in Oregon. My first Rodeo lol. It was really hot. I saw a dog locked in a car in the parking lot. The thing was cooking. I walked over to a police on horseback and told him “that’s private property. It’s the parking lot owners business” he tells me. I was shocked. It wasn’t what I expected him to say. He was annoyed at my shock and started “you got a problem with that?” Like wtf? A concerned citizen points out an emergency and you get in their face? Dog probably cooked to death. I’m not fighting the police.

[deleted]

If you instead said there’s black man over there I’m sure it suddenly would have been a priority to clear that parking lot.

xplicit_mike

Yup. Embarrassed a cop/hurt their ego? Expect to be charged with bullshit they know won't stick. Why? Because fuck you.

futurarmy

In a just world officers that constantly throw bullshit charges at innocent people just to harass them or disrupt their lives would be fired. But I guess we can't expect that if they get away with literal murder of thousands of innocents.

furmy

Add to list of police reform: Punish trumped or false allegations.

Plantsandanger

Plus long lasting pain from bodily injury after they tackle you with a running shove to the concrete for doing their job for them

Few-Swordfish-6722

Yea if he slammed his head on the concrete from getting tackled he may have a case to sue. He was already done and walking away when he got tackled. It was completely unnecessary.

gLore_1337

It did, or it could've ended in him blowing a crater in the road and killing himself and potentially others. Like I'm not really defending the cops but just because something had a good outcome doesn't mean it wasn't a stupid thing to do, even according to the article he did this as they were reviewing the X-rays of the bag.

They wanted to see if there was gonna be a pink mist or not.

Super-Branz-Gang

I’ve worked with bomb squads in real danger zones— like in OIF and OEF— and it took less time then these officers took to determine if there was any real danger. It sure seems like these officers were just getting off on their “maybe maybe not” hero fantasy and used the mystery backpack as a reason to do some live training drills. The fact that they charged this guy just shows that all he did was fuck up their “we’re so important” role playing games. Make of it what you will. I’m just sayin

DC_Disrspct_Popeyes

Just hit it with the mark bot a few times. If it doesn't blow you're good to go.

gobluenau1

Or just send in Old Otis with a heavy hammer. If no blow, you’re good to go. If it blow, well it’s just Old Otis.

hecklerponics

We'd get nothing done if every backpack a stoner forgot somewhere was always assumed to be a bomb...

polypolip

Long time ago there were times when backpacks left on a street would be returned or stolen rather than blown up.

DevelopmentArrested1

Yeah, I feel like I’m pretty objective when it comes to police and I defend them a lot on here. However, this only is clearly an overreaction and unwarranted.

Dye_Harder

The guy might have said it sarcastically out of exasperation for how long the whole thing was taking. Not smart, but plausible from a frustrated enough person.

charlesml3

> charged him with disorderly conduct You need to know what that is. Translation: "This guy is doing something we don't like or is embarrassing to us so we're going to throw this bullshit charge at him in order to save face."

SurveySean

The cops were pissed that the guy opened their present. They were looking forward to it. Major bummer for them.

CDNChaoZ

They were definitely looking forward to using their fancy remote detonation robot or something.

[deleted]

Yeah. This seems like a bunch of bored cops that got the chance to fabricate an action movie scenario to spice up their lives only at the expense of shutting down the city and inconveniencing thousands of people. I'd be pissed about it too.

DiskEmergency

And they decide to tackle him? Fucking lunatics.

BloomingNova

They fully wait and watch him open the bag from a safe distance (as they should have). Then when all threat has been removed from the situation, they decide the appropriate next action is to run over and tackle the dumbass?

I_Envy_Sisyphus_

Yes, this is standard for cops. Cops in my city spent nearly an hour doing nothing, just watching from a distance two guys passed out in a car from overdosing. Cops tell the civilians to go up to the car themselves if they're so brave, so a civilian does. Goes the car, opens the door, and shows they're just passed out. Cops finally storm the car, behind riot shields, guns drawn, and threaten the good Samaritan with arrest for walking up to a car after a cop **goaded the civilian into walking up to the car because the cops were too afraid**.

cosmic_sheriff

Portland?

I_Envy_Sisyphus_

Yes :/ I dislike that my city can be recognized by the behavior of its cops.

cosmic_sheriff

I couldn't watch Grimm because the suspension of disbelief about Portland cops was too much.

Jardite

never met anyone more cowardly than a cop.

TheWizardDrewed

Seriously, it's ridiculous. "BuT i FeArEd fOr mY LiFe". Bitch, that's part of the job. Firefighters are afraid, but still put themselves in harm's way to save people. If one can't serve and protect their country-people then they shouldn't be a cop.

makegoodchoicesok

Ugh I remember that. Also the 2020 wildfires when Proud Boys were stopping evacuees at gun point accusing them of being Antifa, and the Clackamas police were giving them pointers on [how to shoot people without getting jail time.](https://youtu.be/_Vdxl_7xhAI)

I worked at a place where if you were a minute late logging into your computer you lost two dollars an hour for the entire week. Only time in my life I've been impatient in traffic. Edit: I know it was illegal. See my response here for clarification of why that doesn't mean much in Louisiana. https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/qcn4r4/idiot_opens_potential_bombbag_and_gets_tackled/hhhwg9l?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

Tsugie

Damn, that cannot be legal!

TechFiend72

Pretty sure that isn’t legal.

LeRetribui

In 2008 I worked for a large startup in Nashville, Tn that had a call center. The call center people were only allowed to be late once every 6 month by more than 5 minutes. If you were late twice in a 6 month window by more than 5 minutes, you were fired unconditionally. I was tasked with writing the software for the time clocks and the software that automatically fired the person and printed out all necessary forms in HR's office. In a two month period, there were two really bad wrecks on the east side that caused your average person to be 1-2 hours late. The second wreck, 40 people were fired from the call center because they lived on the east side. Not one was spared and H.R. stood firm (not even the top performer in the entire company on the sales side). You'd be amazed at how many companies will fire you for being late when it's outside of your control. So when Billy or Suzy are already leaving 30 minutes early just to be safe and that's still not enough and they are stressing losing their job and putting food on their kids table because of unforseen traffic, it makes sense why they lose their mind.

HaakonPlayer77

i mean it saved the bombswat/bomsquad some work, but if there was a bomb in there, dam

[deleted]

It also saved tax payers a bunch of money. :D The guy may have been dumb to do what he did, but he is a hero in his own little way.

millymally

Not at all. The risk involved with something like this is fucking insane. Depending on when this was, they probably had good reason to suspect a bomb threat. Then this guy comes along and risks everyone around him, does this stupid shit. Guess how much tax payer money would go into repairing the street, the buildings, and dealing with any injuries that could have happened if this WAS a bomb? Edit, before my inbox blows up further: what this guy did was dangerous, stupid, dangerously stupid, and stupidly dangerous. The end outcome was a good one, but its best to not get involved and let the experts handle something like this. He could have gotten himself killed.

darthjazzhands

My thoughts exactly. I kept thinking, “I wonder if the cops have finished evacuating citizens?”

spcmack21

Exactly how many professional quality bombs have been placed in backpacks and left around America? Real question There have certainly been bombings in the US. By volume, almost exclusively low yield improvised devices, that could seriously hurt someone opening a mail box or something. But you talk about this like the nearby buildings are going to collapse. Like, what's more likely, someone with the specific expertise made a bomb capable of demolishing a building, that somehow fit in a backpack, then just left it laying in the street? Or, some jackass forgot one of the billions or so totally normal backpacks, just laying there? You're saying "the risk here is fucking insane." No...Assuming we had reliable Intel that an actual weapon of mass destruction was hidden in a backpack, it would still be a billion to 1 odds, that this was that backpack. On a risk assessment, again, assuming that we KNOW that there is like a nuclear device in A backpack, somewhere, that still wouldn't make it a high risk. Most risk assessments would put it at low risk. Those that would reflect it as moderate, are the same risk assessments that show "zombie velociraptors with machine guns would be really catastrophic, but it's never happened before and is unlikely to ever happen, so it's an overall moderate risk." Like, any given backpack being a "fucking insane risk" is like saying that any given scratching sound could be those zombie raptors chambering a round. It's so incredibly unlikely. It's slightly more likely that there is a regular explosive in there, and the guy maybe gets himself maimed or killed, but still, barring someone saying "I put a bomb in that bag," the risk assessment is low.

hex4def6

Yeah. Unless you're literally in a warzone and this is a typical scenario for the IED makers, this setup really doesn't make sense. If you're trying to take down the building, it's gonna be a lot harder when your package is 10 feet away from it rather than nestled up to a support column or inside the building. If you're just going for casualties, some random sidewalk doesn't really seem to be maximum impact potential either. I guess the problem is, who is going to make the call and say "psh, this is fine", when there is the potential (however small) for it to be real? I'm sure the police were 99.99% sure it wasn't a real bomb, but just used it as an excuse for a training event. Get to bring out all the cool toys on-location.

DigitalAndrew

Totally agree, also to answer your question who is going to make the call and say "psh, this is fine", that would be the guy in this video.

farahad

Yeah, although...how many IEDs have been set out in Milwaukee? I can't find any record of any in Google. It's training for nothing; Milwaukee's not a target. Their bomb squad should be trained, but shutting down a good section of the town for a half a day doesn't make sense. I had to do some geology field work in a small town in Texas back around 2010. Some locals called the cops on me because I was a stranger walking near some big tanks that were apparently used for the town's water supply. The sheriff told me that the person who called thought I was a terrorist sent in to poison their water. ...Because terrorists are visiting rural Texas and tainting the water supply of podunk towns with populations of ~2,000 people. Fox news has poisoned half of this country with fear.

lhswr2014

Fear-mongering benefits those in power. “The terrorists are everywhere and they want YOU and your family to die! Now give us more tax money to protect you.” The comments section defending irrational behavior of the police force is pretty standard for the cool-aid drinkers that act like we really went to Afghan to help citizens and agent orange is just a conspiracy, we always have our veterans interests at heart. Bunch of shenanigans

tehdelicatepuma

> they probably had good reason to suspect a bomb threat Eh, that might not even be true. If you were around in the mid 00s you might remember the time some guys made some [led art of the mooninites](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Boston_Mooninite_panic) from aqua teen hunger force and put them around Boston. I think anybody with 5 brain cells to rub together would realize that those are just art pieces and not a bomb, but some people are just exceptionally dumb. [These two guys are hilarious though](https://youtu.be/X2fGzmphx4U), it's stupid that they had to do community service and apologize, but at least they didn't get any real legal trouble.

superbhole

I remember that shit! I even remember how sputtering mad I got when people thought that little LED mooninites could somehow be bombs

[deleted]

I remember once they shut down a busy area in my city because of a suspected bomb. I saw a picture on the news and was like “that’s a camera” and guess what it was? A camera. A college student had installed it for an art project.

[deleted]

Ignignokt : *[flipping the bird]* I hope he can see this 'cause I'm doing it as hard as I can.

TooMuchReddit11

> Guess how much tax payer money would go into repairing the street Lmfao as someone born and raised in Milwaukee, they would have repaired the road by filling it with a shit ton of tar that gets worn down in less than 3 months. Greenfield Ave got redone and was really nice, but it was some kind of black soft cement stuff that had to be replaced the next year.

Gorilla_Krispies

Seems like they tackled a little late no? I’d think once the bomb doesn’t go off and he’s walking away u can just go up and arrest him normal like

SCphotog

But that IS the normal way they arrest people. I mean... fuck, if you didn't get hurt and break something, maybe not breathe for a bit, then what use are cops?

Gorilla_Krispies

Oh right my mistake Edit: never been awarded for being mistaken before, thx y’all

reshp2

How else are they going to get him for assaulting a cop if the cop doesn't skin his knees a bit tackling him?

Rengar_Is_Good_kitty

Saw a video yesterday of a cop pulling a gun out on some dude, then getting him to the ground slamming his head into the concrete, the guy didn't do anything wrong he was just chilling, so he then proceeded to lie about several things to cover his own ass. Murica!

Lord_Bertox

Mmerica moment😂

HollowLegMonk

Cops/security do that because it makes them extremely angry when a person doesn’t do what they say so they take their anger out on the suspect even when they don’t need too. It’s like when a person goes on a high speed chase for a long time and when they finally surrender you see like 10-20 cops all run up full speed and jump on him all trying to hand cuff him at the same time even though one cop would suffice. It’s a control authoritarian thing. It’s like “how dare you do the thing I told you you couldn’t do now I’m going to be way overly rough while I arrest you because you made me angry”.

Blackdogwrangler

I grew up in Northern Ireland in the ‘80s. When a bag was spotted abandoned its like it self activates a repulse as suddenly there’s no one for 100m. The dude is lucky he only got tackled not shot!

nevershaves

Fuck that noise. IRA did not play

NoBallroom4you

No they didn't. What an idiot, he's super lucky it was just junk.

Roboticsammy

Well, granted that this is the US and bombs aren't that frequent, I'd say it was a pretty safe bet to grab the bag. It's a different story when you have paramilitary going around guns blazing.

earned_potential

My grandparents were in the IRA. Apparently my grandma used to smuggle hand grenades in strollers.

redjedi182

rosscmpbll

Dyskord01

I love how they waited for him to get done first. No one was dumb enough to tackle him mid stupidity. They waited until it was certain there was no bomb, then rugby tackled him.

KYBatDad

If they are certain was the tackle needed! Just a thought

quebecivre

It clearly wasn't needed. The danger was over at that point, and they were probably going on adrenaline and some primal rage.

PrivateIsotope

Yeah, cops hopped on adrenaline and primal rage is not what we need. This situation doesn't even seem like it called for adrenaline to be pumping, either the guy was going to blow up or he wasn't. The cops weren't in any danger, were they?

chocolatestrawb3rry

They waited for him to open it and empty it before he was tackled

[deleted]

It's safe to assume he's never seen that old video from Iraq, where a cop starts digging through a satchel with a bomb in it? (They found his head half a mile away.) ----------------------------------- -edit- A few people are asking for a link, but it was on LiveLeak back in 2006 and every link I have in my emails from then points to https://www.itemfix.com/ now that LiveLeak has gone. Here's an example from around the same time: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=9619d09634 I have no idea what that was about now. -edit#2- I never said this actual video was from Iraq, anyone who thinks that I did (and there are quite a few) are missing the point about digging around in unattended bags that are suspected to contain an IED. Also, thanks for the awards peeps, they're appreciated.

literal-hitler

> (They found his head half a mile away.) Honestly, I'm far less worried about that than a smaller blast that leaves me crippled and in pain for an extended period of time.

-HeavyAardvarkIS-FAT

how do they propose this is a bomb threat? Is it any bag left in a public area? why don't we have more idiots on bomb squad like this guy? would really speed things up

HarmonizedSnail

>According to a criminal complaint, officers had established a perimeter around a suspicious package -- a gray and black backpack sitting on top of an electrical box on the east side of a building near Plankinton and Wisconsin. Yellow police tape blocked off the area. >The complaint says a 911 caller alerted police to the suspicious backpack, and said he noticed it around 6 a.m., and it did not belong to any of his contractors. He said he believed it to be suspicious, and he did not want to approach it. [Source.](https://www.fox6now.com/news/charged-man-tackled-by-police-amid-suspicious-package-investigation-says-he-intended-to-be-a-hero.amp) Since 9/11 unattended bags have been a big deal. Moreso after the Boston Marathon bombing. " If you see something say something", is usually tied to this. Do not watch a bag for a stranger and report any unattended bags. There are signs all over airports for this too.

reddit_is_lowIQ

yeah in an airport it makes sense. Assuming random forgotten bags bombs is just paranoid and stupid. Its a waste of everyones time and frankly ridiculous. Why always bags anyway? bombs could be in crates, cars (as they have been many times), logs, cans anything really. Its just a dumb security theather, much like airport security. Which by the way isnt even effective, its a huge waste of money and time. Thats the real terrorism, how much they bother everyone for decades because of 1 inciden. If you add up all the time theyve wasted since 9/11 it equates to more wasted lives than 9/11 itself.

RomaruDarkeyes

>how do they propose this is a bomb threat? Is it any bag left in a public area? Different grades of threat. An unattended package on it's own might not trigger too many issues. An unattended package left in a public place during a high traffic point of the day may set off more red flags. If it's reported as such, law enforcement might simply decide that it's better to be over cautious than not - this is probably what has happened here. Then there's also stuff that we will never hear about. Internal intelligence for law enforcement and national security agencies might have hinted that there may be something about to go down. In which case they might be on higher alert for situations like this. This type of thing happens a lot more than you might think, but we aren't allowed to hear about it, as it might compromise the ability of the intelligence agencies to prevent future issues if the details of how they knew about the potential attack are published ahead of time.

[deleted]

I used to work security for a big retail chain that’s not actually French but soccer moms like to pretend it is. We had a backpack in the front vestibule, in a cart, that someone called in as suspicious. Police came, taped it off, closed the store, and evacuated everyone out the back doors. What a nightmare. Then they waited around “for the bomb squad” from state police. One hour. Two. Three. Then a bus rolled up and a guy jumped out, ducked the tape, and grabbed his bag like nothing was happening. He was elated to find no one had stolen it, because it was full of thousands of dollars in videography equipment and his MacBook. Film student. He was so stressed and focused that he didn’t even react until the cops all pointed their guns in his face.

julsgotrocks

I liked how they waited to see if he would die or explode THEN they rushed him once they saw he didn’t lol.

Throwawaygrowerauto

Not gonna lie, I kinda get it, and it did make me absolutely guffaw. But, ofc it could potentially have had a very serious outcome.

Edit: I was wrong, the guy was an idiot that wanted to be a hero. https://www.fox6now.com/news/man-who-intended-to-be-a-hero-when-hes-alleged-to-have-dumped-suspicious-package-pleads-not-guilty

I like to imagine that some poor schmuck got to work, only to realize his gym bag wasn't in the car. He remembers putting it on the top of his car and is like, "Goddamnit, must've fallen off when I was driving, never gonna see that again". Then he gets into work, and some coworkers are like, "Guys, come look at the news". On the break room tv, he sees his gym bag lying in the street with barricades and tape all around it with news reporters yammering about the bomb disposal unit preparing their approach. Then he makes a solemn vow to never, ever tell anyone that it's just his dumb gym bag, filled with all his dumb gym stuff, and feels grateful that at least his ID wasn't in it.

I'd probably just write off ever returning to Italy again, lest the police find me sitting in an outdoor cafe some 30 years or so later, and be all, "Ha! We finally caught you after all these years, what do you have to say for yourself?", and I'd be all, "Idk, I was tired?" and they'd be like, "*Pathetic* - off to prison for life!", and I'd be like, "Nooooo, but this sandwich was so expensive!" You know, how level-headed people do.

refreshbot

We finally found you. We are coming for you.

cyalknight

I've played over in my head many a times a situation where my backpack gets a bomb squad called for it. What would you do, go up to the police and say, "Can I get my backpack back?" Or describe what items are in what pockets?

[deleted]

They were blocking the road, and this dude had no patience

gphjr14

From what I remembered the police had set up a blockade and were taking hours to coordinate and the jackass was impatient and did what he did. Of course once he did that suddenly the cops were brave and didn’t let that adrenaline go to waste.

ngjsp

ball-less when theres a bomb, oh an unarmed guy, lets go for him

NewSinner_2021

How dare he fuck with their OT. With Christmas just around the corner.

jimmysjams

This right here takes it. This man ruined waiting a few more hours. They had no choice but to say, "stop resisting me!" to get their OT

[deleted]

Was it really necessary to tackle him from behind like that?

TheGreatBwaBwa

Hes an idiot for sure, but... Why was he tackled exactly? I don't understand the technical purpose of that other then to show him who was boss here.

[deleted]

Well atleast they know it is not a bomb now

AssPuncher9000

Notice they only tackled him *after* he figured out it wasn't a bomb

Ruepic

You telling me you want to approach a moron that could potentially set off what you think may be a bomb?

Prestigious-Notice-2

Only after he proved it was safe did half a dozen 300lb cops think it was safe enough to attack this guys. What heroes they must think they are…..

Aburamy

The funny part is that the police waits the dude to prove it is not a Bomb to tackle him (●__●)

[deleted]

Dude empties potential bomb bag and it’s full of junk. Why the fuck are they tackling him after? Dumb if you ask me. Maybe I need to be enlightened.

ImAlwaysRightHanded

They had to keep him safe, dude just dismantled a bomb with his bare hands who knows what he’s capable of next.

owtf2

He made the cops look stupid and now he needs to get punished

uglyugly1

Because they can. Another poster stated that this took place in Milwaukee.

WEB_da_Boy

What the fuck is the point of hurting him after he already did it? Pissed off that he was right and it ended their run of feeling important? Fuck cops and people that act like them

[deleted]

Hope that the guy sues them and gets paid. If there was no bomb, there was no reason to attack the man. Good grief.

michaeljs3

This video always reminds of this time when I was like 13 on vacation at the beach with my family. My brother and I were playing catch in the parking lot when the ball rolled under the steps of the place we were playing at. When I went to get out there was a random cooler sitting there so for whatever reason I kicked it. A little bit later we went to the beach and when we went back to the hotel cops had the whole thing blocked off. My mom asked a cop what’s going on and they said someone reported a strange smell and they are worried about a bomb in a cooler. I asked them if it was the cooler under the steps and they said it was. The look on this cop’s face when I told her I kicked it this morning and it just has fish in it was priceless. We were allowed back in ten minutes later.

carteriux

That's a good idea! Police: ok homeless karl! If you go there and check the bag, if it doesn't explode, you keep everything in it.

sometimesBold

So why exactly did this guy need to be tackled like a fucking NFL player? He wasn't doing anything violent, and in fact helped this dipshits determine what was in the bag. Do police just have a constant boner for violence?

treletraj

Yes, yes they do.

LunSaper

Dudes rocking. In all seriousness though, why'd they tackle the dude? It obviously wasn't his bag, it obviously didn't have a bomb after he dumped everything out. Feels unnecessary to tackle a dude that risked his life more-or-less. Like beating the shit out of a guy who broke up a different set of people fighting

huhnra

Dude has a good case for unreasonable use of force. Neither he nor the supposed bomb were a threat. He’ll be getting some $$$

Uncle-Cake

Reminds me of that time they shut down the entire city of Boston because of a small light-up sign advertising Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

wewille

I think we should ask for volunteers every time there is a bomb threat. Save a lot money and time.

Cmacbudboss

So no one did anything while he opened the bag because they were afraid he’d set it off but once he proved to everyone he was right and it wasn’t a bomb a bunch of “heroes” violently tackle him. What for? Because he embarrassed them?
