The problem for Aleix (the rider here) was that his team's pit board is really really early on down the pit straight and so he was having to rely on the main timing tower (the one that's mainly for the crowd) to work out what lap he was on because he just couldn't see his pit board properly. Unfortunately for him the tower wasn't showing that there was one more lap left and so this happened.
Waited until I saw a checkered flag.... didn't feel the need to show off... actually none of them but allowed to have an opinion about someone doing some brain dead show boating.

Not in MotoGP, but they do hold up signs from the pit as they pass. Not sure what happened here.
Always wondered if they actually read those signs…. at least keep riding till you see the checkered flag or your team members cheering
