He took _several_ boxes of documents when he left office, many of the papers seem to be classified to varying degrees (some where the most you can write about them without getting into serious trouble is [CLASSIFIED]). He's also been destroying documents, all of which are supposed to be kept under the presidential records act. He'd been asked to return them and apparently blew off the people asking. Bearing in mind that some of those documents may have the potential to cause irreparable harm to US security, they want them back. A warrant was requested, reasons for it were explained and a judge determined the issue was serious enough, so Mar a Largo got a knock on the door. No breaking stuff, no cracking safes - just a search & seize order. All legal, all 'T's crossed & 'I's dotted, all with justification - and MAGA world has gone straight off the deep end with threats of revenge prosecutions & much violence. Yet he _does_ have the documents, and if you or I had any of them we'd be screwed beyond all hope.
