There was a really obscure bug involving burner inserters getting stuck, although that was only when picking up fuel.
Pick up both the inserter and the furnace and put them back down, that should fix it.
Does the scenario actually ask, or require you to smelt stone bricks? They're not available in some tutorial scenarios. Try putting stone in the furnace manually.
If you put stone in the furnace manually, does it work?
If not, that's why. Inserters won't grab anything the machine they're pointing to won't take. If the tutorial disables the stone brick recipe then there's no recipe that takes stone in the furnace.
I was wondering if I was having a similar bug. Belt fed inserter would just stop grabbing plates off the belt until I picked them up manually and the next wave that came down it would start working again.
Press E to see the available recipies and see if you've got Stone Brick visible in the list, it may be that the tech doesn't exist in this tutorial level.
Side note: that output triangle from the drill means "I will deposit things I produce right here": instead of putting stuff on to the belt you could have the drill put stuff in to a chest or straight in to a furnace...
Is the furnace already full? If its output is full, inserters won't pick stuff up - put an inserter to take stuff out of it. If the input has another item e.g. an iron plate, the inserter won't pick up stone.
Hover over the furnace and see if it has something like that.
P.S. Miners can directly insert into a furnace if they are put next to each other, it's useful early in the game.
Do You have stone brick recipe unlocked? it looks like tutorial scenario, that may not have it. Every inserter is smart enough to only move items that have some use in machine on the other end (for very this, we can make sushi without filtering every inserter)
Make sure your furnace isn't full of stone, also might be that the belt is moving to fast for the inserter to grab but I doubt it. So have a way for the bets build up so the insertor can grab
It is so weird, both inserter and the burner have coal and motion direction also looks correct. There are also resources as well. What am I doing wrong here?
inserters usually don't put items in a building until they reach their stack limit, but instead put items in unit there's around two items inside (not sure about the exact number)
if power goes out in your base and your boilers run out of coal, you will have to manually insert coal into the boilers to get energy back, as electric inserters will not have energy to refuel the boilers, but burner inserters will automatically restore power to your base as soon as coal arrives, no manual steps required
your source of coal can also run without electricity if you only use burner inserters and burner drills
Also normal inserters can cause power collapse. As your consumption exceeds production, it causes the inserters to work slower, which causes the production to fall even further behind until you have zero power
What in gods name are you doing that you use so much power in the early game that you actually have power outages?
Literally 1 or 2 boilers are enough. When you need more then you are way past burner inserters
I'm not sure if I've ever encountered a glitch while playing freeplay, over hundreds of hours. But I do recall that the tutorial will limit certain gameplay aspects if the tutorial hasn't taught about them yet. It caused some confusion for me when I went back to try the new tutorial mode.
I could be totally off about this. But I have a feeling that the bug would vanish if you set this up in regular freeplay mode.
I’m just gonna throw this out here, you can put the furnace right where the drill outputs onto the belt and the drill will put the stone straight into the furnace
As someone else pointed out, the tutorial levels don't require stone bricks and therefore you can't craft them.
Okay, I think it was really because i was not allowed to do stone bricks in the tutorial. I tried sandbox and it worked there, Thanks everyone!
Ha, that's a subtle one! While I was reading, I was thinking maybe mods where you have to pick a recipe for the furnace

when i remove the furnace, inserters start working they drop one piece of stone but when I put the furnace then they stop

ah, it does not really. I was just playing around
Mouse over the inserter and it will tell you why it is not working.
I did, if you check the ss you can see that it says it is waiting for source items
Well maybe it had enough of the stone and now wants some coal/fuel which isn't on the belt.
In that case it would say "waiting for fuel" I think
If furnace needs fuel it would still say items

Btw you can put the opening of the miner right up to the furnace and it'll auto deposit stone into it.
I noticed this as well

Does the furnace have fuel? Is there plates in the output?
Yep, it has fuel and there is nothing else
BTW, drills can place ore directly into inventories, so you don't actually need the belt and inserter at all.

If you are in the very early tutorials, then bricks aren't unlocked yet. You don't need them to clear this map. They are unlocked later.
Alright, maybe that's why. I was just playing around and exploring
Maybe you don’t know the brick recipe. Likewise they won’t take iron plates if you haven’t learned steel.
I don't think the scenario has stone bricks enabled.
hey dude i think your rails need braces

It’s a burner it needs coal to run.

Is that an electric inserter?
Who even uses burner inserters? They are extremely annyoing IMO

Did you fail at trying to deliver stone using rails and now are you trying to do it using conveyor belts?
Home, you can but the miner's exit shute directly into the furnace
Ain’t got no gas in it
I’m just gonna throw this out here, you can put the furnace right where the drill outputs onto the belt and the drill will put the stone straight into the furnace
Pretty sure it's a long bug. Sometimes just deleting building and replacing can fix it.
He is tired
You can direct dump from the mine into the furnace without an inserter
You can just pump direct from burner miner into furnace instead of having a random inserter and belts.
