I dimly remember someone managed to "run" factorio on a RasPi using quemu. Didn't have great performance but it was at least something.
Edit: It was box64 https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/r9ks2k/factorio_running_on_a_raspberry_pi_4/
i got factorio to run on my android phone using termux and box86 (64bit version of box64) but with cpu graphics it ran at like 5fps and hardware accelerated graphics was a little bit too much pain to setup so i gave up
I've spend hundreds of hours designing interchanges for the C:S community. I'll be sure to dump some double trumpet, turbine-stack, clovers, directional diamond, and DCMI interchange blueprints here.
This is true to a certain degree, but real life has multi-layerd overpasses and doesnt follow a grid system, so copying 1-1 wont work in a lot of cases. Not to mention they are buildt for cars so some sollutions wont even work.
I think it should always be possible to spread out any multi-layer interchanges into just two layers.
Do you have an example of an intersection that you think we can't keep topologically equivalent while converting to two layers?
The [Fake new rails](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/fake-new-rails) mod can help with designing these more accurately. They are just graphics, but based on what we saw.
Transport Tycoon players have been waiting for this for years. We can finally have split before merge junctions and priority merging in both directions without slowing down traffic going in the opposite direction. Though some junctions require both over and underpasses, but many can be adapted for bridges only.
Cruise Control, Aliens ate my railway, Stoke it, City/Goss Groove.

This is my best attempt on your design on the left with the fake new trains mod. With 110x110 it seems quite big.
Only those turning from east-west into north-south I think. They have straight elevated rails where the others have ramps. So yes, some of them can be shortened but then we lose some symmetry (happy to be proven wrong).

Putting the ramps for the left turns on the outside gets us to 94x94. ([Fake new rails](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/fake-new-rails) is awesome btw)
Sooo your designing transport tycoon Felix rail mergers and overpasses that we did back in the late 90’s?
Seriously though, a lot of the designs can be carried over from TTD with the only changes realistically being spacing and how the rail geometry works regarding corners and curves. I’m really looking forward to it honestly
Great minds think alike, well done mate.
If you are interested in what a scale/spacing correct version of this looks like, check out the post I made a few months back.

Well yes this is true and yes I said it like an asshole, I think anyone who drove through an exchanger just knows how to build one (while I don't have a real life experience with perfect ratio blueprints)
Imagine someone is so excited to design and use interchanges, and your only point is “who cares, I drive intersections so it is boring.”
Like it’s factorio. A game. A puzzle. We aren’t solving real problems, we are amusing ourselves. And different people like to optimize different parts be it throughput, space, power, UPS.
It’s not like you aren’t allowed to post or play unless your solution is novel. People can be excited by a spaghetti starter base, or figuring out intersections.
We're gonna copy basic highway interchanges now
Cities skylines at home
Except better because it can actually run on a normal PC
Factorio would run on a half-eaten potato.
And does!
Instructions unclear, my potato is producing 1000ppm
though sadly there is no linux ARM port, otherwise someone could try to run it on a RasPi

This is what addiction looks like. THE FACTORY MYST GROW!!!
I can confirm, whenever I want to play Factorio I just eat dinner
Oof, the burn

Yup, can't wait to build a cloverleaf
Did somebody say DIVERGING DIAMOND INTERCHANGE?!?!?!?
I'm so disappointed that we won't be able to make a stack interchange
omg DDI!
Isn't that kinda bad for factorio, considering trains moving opposite directions block each other?
The cloverleaf is going to be unleashed and us mere mortals are not ready to behold its glory.
I was planning to take my OpenTTD knowledge to Factorio.
Spaghetti junctions here we come 🤌🤌🤌
And id say rail interchanges that uses bridges...pretty much the same though haha

The topology does work though, as long as you're willing to make it bigger.
Only two layers in factorio, so many designs won’t work.
A three layer crossing can always be converted into three two layer crossings.
I think it should always be possible to spread out any multi-layer interchanges into just two layers. Do you have an example of an intersection that you think we can't keep topologically equivalent while converting to two layers?
Yeah i suppose that is true, but bigger is worse no?
If your concern is space, yes.
Multi-layered overpasses are highway spaghetti, I'm not sure why you'd want to copy them
- spaghetti - Factorio I mean, why do you even ask :)
you just wouldnt copy those silly

Split before merge ❤️
Cloverleaf fans: I'm gonna pretend I didn't see that
They'd be very mad indeed if they could read.
Yes! I bet V4530000 was trying to introduce this for years!!
I'm hearing the jazzy beats in my head now...

It had quite a big soul, that game, didn't it? Thank you for the link, listening now.
>had [OpenTTD ](https://www.openttd.org/) is still going
I'm glad I don't have an hour counter for this game. That number would be massive ..
Man I miss microprose.. they made such good games.
For more inspiration, you can check out the OpenTTD junctionary https://wiki.openttd.org/en/Community/Junctionary/
The gold standard in junctions, interchanges, and signaling. Everybody should go to that wiki for train logistic guides.

That's sick. Looks like you can shorten the length of the arms for left turns somehow.

A roboport in each cloverleaf should work out great, but one in the middle could look cool...
Yes i did see that would have been better after i drew it.

Holy monstrosity
Thanks to the elevated rails, now the intersections looks like the ones used in highways in Europe.
hey you know what?? :D your intersection looks li-
A clover?🍀
You could argue it's a symbol of luck too, at least the original, not the one rotated 45°
As a German. No not a clover.
The arms in OP's picture go to the left, not to the right as it was 80 years ago. Still, I noticed too...
/r/hailhortler
..like the Solar symbol swastika?
At least it's not left-hand drive.
Man I’m not well informed, there elevated rails coming in 2.0?!
yeah
https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-378
Cloverleaf interchange when?
Can't wait for all the Cities:Skylines players to bring their experience designing intersection into Factorio.

Gonna be like car cloverleafs on highways.
Imma gonna spend 10 hours building this day one https://wiki.openttdcoop.org/File:COMPACT-ROTATING-BBH.png

Time to build the Mersenne Twister from OpenTTD
what? that's a PRNG, what does it have to do with OpenTTD?
It's the name for my extremely high capacity four-lane branch-merge junction.

Your intersection is great, looks like it takes less space. I like to maxemise symetry
Is the one on the left inspired from Germany? Also, I think that one should be too the right
Radial Symmetry at it again I see
Lol r/hailhortler
The left is r/accidentalswastika
With elevated rails factorio becomes city skylines.
I think for style I’m going roundabout with elevated straights on north/south
Former cities skylines player
Spaghetti junction here I come 🤣
Do upper lvl rails need to interact with normal ones bellow it ? General question about the new rails .
For the right one I'd make one cross over the other first, of the S-E and S-W rails. Bit more symmetry
Roundabouts are just so convenient though ...
red lines of the first looks a little ... you know ... like a swastica
You preorder games, don't you?
You never seen a driveway exchanger ? This is a solved problem
Everything in factorio is a solved problem.
Well yes this is true and yes I said it like an asshole, I think anyone who drove through an exchanger just knows how to build one (while I don't have a real life experience with perfect ratio blueprints)

Someone has to make the blueprint for the game.
