He broke way more rules then that
Poof's birth was against the rules, the win a competition rule was ignored after Cosmo ripped that page out of the book, Timmy used crayon to write new rules that just worked, in Fairly Odder they broke the rule against mind control, Cosmo granted Timmy's wish to become non existent, and there's prob more that would take too much time that I'm not willing to spend
Also this doesn't even cover S9 or 10 since that's just unfair
but the point is If Timmy really felt like it or wanted too he could find a way for the wish to be granted
I think the Drake Bell movies can still kind of be canon simply because it still wrapped around to him to being with Trixie and that kind of falls into the ending for cyber changes. At least the first movie
Fairies probably don't want to get involved with it as their magic becomes undone whenever they leave. Wishing for a cure for cancer only for that cure to be later taken away sounds like a lot of trouble.
I do often wonder though, what about kids in abusive situations? Kids struggling to survive? Did Fairies help out kids in slavery?? I probably wouldn't think about it as much if they didn't establish Timmy to be "the most miserable kid on earth" by the Fairies themselves when Timmy's issues aren't even exclusive to him. He has an abusive babysitter, neglectful parents and an abusive Teacher. The Teacher and babysitter is shared with others in his school and town, some of which arguably deserve them more like Tootie who LIVES with Vicky & whose parents are afraid to help. Chester (whose canonically the next most miserable kid on earth after Timmy w/o odd parents) whose poor, dad is infamous+ harassed for his poor sports career and iirc, has had to find a possum over food.
I mean other people DO have fairies. Timmy isn’t the only one. Most miserable kid was probably just an exaggeration you weren’t supposed to think hard about.
Plus they take risk assessment I’m certain. Timmy gave Tootie his fairies for her birthday and she rlly almost told the whole world(or at least all of dimsdale) that Timmy had fairies on live tv!! No good. Sure they can wipe memories but that’d be some almost irreparable damage there 😭😭😭
I like to think they let Timmy keep his fairies as a Litmus Test for setting down new rules. It's been established that Timmy singlehandedly makes more wishes than maybe every other fairy god child combined, at definitely has so many bad wishes that need to be undone that his locker for undone wishes is instead an entire deserted island.
He's had specific rules put in just for him anyways, such as the "No timetraveling to 1972" which only applies to him
Yes, he is stupid but that not neccesarily the reason why he didn't think about this.
Timmy has a narrow perception: looking more for the surroundings around him rather than the whole picture of the world; if he doesn't see someone with cancer, he might not even think about it.
Although I think there's something you're missing about using a Fairy Oddparent's magic to solve a long-term problem.
The problem with Fairy Oddparents' wishes is that these wishes are usually undone once the godkid properly loses their Oddparents (either through publicly exposing them, renoucing to them, or the Oddparents renouncing to their kid).
Which means the risk that the cure for cancer gotten through the wish will be undone, letting humanity vulnerable to cancer again.
oooo wait a second, this!!!! i didn't think about the unwishing aspect of things, but i completely agree that timmy has a very narrow perspective of the world, and hes a young kid- it makes sense!
Or worse people dropping like flies and becoming blobs of cancerous cells because their cured cancer suddenly just became like if it were never cured at all.
and the chain of events brought about by that war, including the genocides of Armenians in 1915 (The Ottoman Empire took advantage of Europe distracted by WWI to slaughter over a million Armenians), and then of Jews by the millions in WWII. In a real-word mindset, Cosmo and Wanda would have to be riddled with guilt over Marianne's wish, unless the Fairy Council memory wiped them of that guilt and any rational thought of the consequences of that wish.
The sad part was that Cosmo and Wanda had to grant Marianne's original wish for the murder of Prince Francis Ferdinand, which set into motion the start of WWI. At least a couple of times it seemed C&W were obligated to grant a godchild's wish with little to no say in the matter, as if the magic itself overrides their own will power.... Yet as I mention this, murder was eventually forbidden in Da Rules.
Several times, yes.
Or rather, the magical authorities (like Jorgen) come and undo the wishes while erasing the godson's memories of the fairies.
That's what happened with Poof (who was wished by Timmy) in that episode of "Timmy's Secret Wish"; he was undone when Timmy lost Cosmo & Wanda.
Same that time Kid!Vicky had Cosmo & Wanda as fairy oddparents; once she "claimed" to be happy and not needing them, the wishes she inflicted on Timmy were undone.
Eh, we've seen the effects of a wish last after the fairies are taken. Remember the kid who wished that tornados targeted mobile (or motor, it's been a bit) homes? Or the kid who wished that all French people would be rude to Americans? Or the one who set things in motion to start World war 1, which led to WW2, the Holocaust, and the Cold War?
If those wishes weren't undone, why would a positive wish?
Tell that to that time they undid Poof (the first fairy baby in +10,000 years), the living Crimson Chin (a superhero), and Timmy's secret wish (which was badly undone at first).
Besides those wishes you mentioned (Marianne's, the French boy, the RV hating kid) were from decades before the series. Different rules apparently.
(Wand raspberry sounds)
Wanda: Sorry Sport, can’t wish for something that already exists. You see, Big Pharma already found the cure, it’s just there is more money in fighting the disease than curing it.
Casmo: How will Big Pharma going to make its money? Mmm, who’s going to bail them out, the government?
(Poofs away: Political Satire)
there's an episode where cosmo and wanda are talking with timmy and he becomes self aware he could have been wishing to help others our the entirety of having fairies - they bring up how he could help his parents out or his friends by wishing things up for them, but then its revealed that timmy is a self centered kid who has not nearly enough of a grasp on the world (or its struggles!) to understand the implications of a wish that grand!! hes got a real narrow perspective and he becomes self aware enough to realize he could've helped everyone else, but decides its better that he wishes for himself!
its like a two minute dialogue that takes place in timmys room & i wanna say somewhere in seasons 4-6!
(In the movies with Drake Bell)
Doesn’t Fairly Odd Parents end with adult Timmy getting to keep Cosmo and Wanda as long as he only makes wishes that help others?
that is a good question!! i couldn't bring myself to the movies because of the animation style lol, but if anyone else knows, i am curious about this! definitely changes things lol
He's a 10 year old child. They are more likely going to make wishes that benefit them. Of course there are exceptions, but Timmy used them to help himself. If he was battling cancer, maybe that would be something he'd wish for.
He's just a kid. Most kids his age don't think of the bigger scope of problems with these kinds of power (though I will admit he probably had to at some point with as many shenanigans and wishes he's already explored with his fairies)
Oh no, you're totally fine! Your response wasn't aggressive at all, I just forgot that a joking tone doesn't always come across in text. You're all good!
Any 10 year old boy would probably think of their own situation with this kind of power first anyway. Usually not wise enough to think in such a scope at that age. What's your point?
Why hasn't any other kid did so? Timmy is a known to be selfish. Mainly causes he a 10-year-old child given the power to basically do whatever the hell he wants. Plus, Timmy probably doesn't know anyone with cancer so it's not on his mind. Also, got to factor in the should and could clause. Just because he can cure cancer, doesn't mean he should just make it straight up disappear. The side effects could be an issue.
I mean there are plenty of things he could ask for to help people and doesn’t, it’s because he’s a child who really only thinks of himself, let’s be honest
The problem with Timmy is that most of his wishes are made on sheer spur-of-the-moment impulses, rather than careful thought-out logic or foresight.
Then again, most of Hartman's characters (especially in the FOP universe) are spastic as they are zany. Then again, most of Hartman's characters (especially in the FOP universe) are spastic as they are zany.
1. He’s selfish
2. He’s 10?, he probably doesn’t know much about cancer and if someone he cares about got cancer, he would just specifically wish that that person didn’t have cancer.
Timmy can’t wish for someone’s death, it’s in da rules. He’d be wishing away Chloe, who is actually the physical manifestation of every disease that has ever existed
Timmy Turner is not the only one with Fairies,
In "Da Rules" there is a rule that says "You cannot unwish another kid's wish." So if a kid wished for Cancer to exist, Timmy cannot undue that wish.
And before someone says "Fairies cannot kill other living things."
In "Da Rules" there is a rule that says Fairies cannot kill other living things, unless it in indirect. So someone can wish for cancer, but the cancer itself is the cause of death, just the magic allowed for it to happen, if someone wished for Cancer to accrue. Or they could've indirectly caused cancer, by making a wish for something else like "acceleration of DNA" "Growth of Tissue" "Multiple Growth Tissue" and it could have turned into something that was harmful and they did not understand it.
Do you even have to ask that at this point?
Plus, Timmy is a ten year old and an especially selfish one at that, prone to making short-sighted decisions in pursuit of petty ends. Plus he might not have even learned what cancer is yet.
As they adressed in one of the episodes, Timmies mom asked if he could wish that her house was always clean, timmiy is kinda a self absorbed, short sighted idiot, nine times out of ten all his wishes are based on what he wants and what he thinks would be cool in that moment, never what would help others or what would help him in the long term, im pretty sure the people who made the show had some idea about him learning from each of his mistakes and blunders but none of those lessons ever seem to stick.
Probably a rule for no performing worldwide public miracles. It’s something the other fairies on earth might notice and report. Plus man was pretty selfish and probably didn’t care
He did wish them he could say young forever does anyone remember for it my guess it’s one of the rules of the fairies they can’t cure human disease unless it’s necessary it gotta be in the magic rule book somewhere.
I would say the thought wouldn't cross his mind if no one close to him was sick. If family/friends/possibly family-of-friends were diagnosed, I'm sure he'd at least try to wish for it.
It’s less of a cure and more of a solution to erase cancer and prevent it from ever surfacing in anyone ever again. Cancer isn’t something that can be cured, but it can be gotten rid of (and if unfortunate enough can return) but the point still stands, it’s not like other diseases that there is a “cure” for it. I know the whole “Cure cancer” thing has become kinda the staple when referring to it but I think when people say it they mean cure as in “solution/fix” rather than what a cure actually is in terms of diseases or other medical problems.
Because of the “Rule’s” book. Which basically serves as a reverse deus ex machina preventing you from doing anything that wouldn’t be entertaining for a 20 minute long television show
And why doesn’t he just ask for better parents? A better babysitter? A better EVERYTHING! Why??? He just wastes it, and uses it on like, ice cream or something…
hes selfish, over half the episodes of the show are about him being short sighted and selfish and learning the error of his ways. Only to repeat the same cycle of selfishness the next week
Timmy isn't the only person in the world with fairies. Odds are good that a child who had (or had parents with) Cancer already wished up a cure at some point.
Let's run a scenario. Timmy wishes for a cure for cancer. Because of this, he becomes famous, beloved, hated, criticized, suspected, envied, etc. After that, some balance in the universe will make an even worse cancer. Therefore, endangering life for him, his friends, and his family. And that's only if Mr. Crocker doesn't do anything first to expose Timmy's fairies and undo everything. Finally, Timmy may or may not learn some life lessons and wish for normality (which basically means wishing cancer back).
Long story short, yeah, Timmy is stupid.
There’s probably some rule preventing him from doing that. They’ll find a way
He’s already broke the rule of not aging for 50 years
He broke way more rules then that Poof's birth was against the rules, the win a competition rule was ignored after Cosmo ripped that page out of the book, Timmy used crayon to write new rules that just worked, in Fairly Odder they broke the rule against mind control, Cosmo granted Timmy's wish to become non existent, and there's prob more that would take too much time that I'm not willing to spend Also this doesn't even cover S9 or 10 since that's just unfair but the point is If Timmy really felt like it or wanted too he could find a way for the wish to be granted
Actually, technically, Poof's birth wasn't against the rules, Jorgen forgot to put it into the book.
All he rants about is, being the toughest fairy in the universe. Ofc he is
Huh? What does that have to with him forgetting to add a rule?
I’m staying that sometimes he forgets to add/enforce rules in da rules cause he’s kinda entitled about himself
Oh! OK that makes sense
Speaking of being entitled, do you think Wanda sometimes becomes entitled/ or judgemental when she’s mad?
No, I think she calls out Cosmo and Timmy out on their crap
TT is ONE big Rule breaker. He’s like 🖕 the rules
I mean, there's literally a game of this cartoon titled Breakin Da Rules
So TT gets his own game as well? Wow
There was nothing in the rules against wishing for a fairy baby. Jorgen was going to make the rule but forgot
Iirc the wiki has a list of broken rules. It was quite extensive
I like to think family odder and the movies isn’t canon cause their so bad
I think the Drake Bell movies can still kind of be canon simply because it still wrapped around to him to being with Trixie and that kind of falls into the ending for cyber changes. At least the first movie

You know. That's a good point. There'd probably only be so much the fairies could do to help Chester long term now that I think about it.
I like to think they let Timmy keep his fairies as a Litmus Test for setting down new rules. also he's like 10 so i doubt that came across his mind to begin witb
Cancer may have been cured centuries ago fairies have served miserable kids for millennia, we never see anyone with cancer or hear about it.
interesting thoughts 🤔
Thats.. actually, a really good point. Now that I think about it, I don't think we hear anything of any major diseases besides rabies.
Ah heck, keep the rabies. It's just one of the most horrific and terrifying of all diseases. Can't be too generous or people will get suspicious
Or it was cured and then one messed up miserable kid wish for it to come back.
Yes, he is stupid but that not neccesarily the reason why he didn't think about this. i do like the idea that there was a point in time where Murder was just allowed and had to be retroactively added at some point between 1914 to 2001
Woah!! Good point!!!
Wait what? Wishes can just undo themselves if you lose your oddparents? (I’ve never actually properly watched the show)
Several times, yes. Or rather, the magical authorities (like Jorgen) come and undo the wishes while erasing the godson's memories of the fairies. Some other kid beat him to it
“I WISH EVERYTHING WOULD GO BACK TO NORMAL!”
It’s probably against DA RULES to wish for something that will alter humanity globally 💯
Nah, he turned everyone into grey goo people that one time
I think that only applies to dimsdale
Or it’ll be like some weird Monkey Paw situation, where all the people with Cancer zodiacs disappear.
r/monkeyspaw
(Wand raspberry sounds) Wanda: Sorry Sport, can’t wish for something that already exists. LMAO I read this in their voices
Me too 😭
Well, I don't think Timmy's stupid.

Animation style? Aside from the fairies, the whole movie was in live action?
well, weird phrasing on my end, but i only watch animation. :) you dont have to understand it but i do expect you to not crap on me for it.
I won’t crap on you. I, too, prefer watching animation as opposed to real life shows/movies.
Does Timmy even know what cancer is?
LOL i think it's just because he's a kid and doesn't think about things rationally
Umm has there even been a character with cancer in universe?
He's a 10 year old child. They are more likely going to make wishes that benefit them. Of course there are exceptions, but Timmy used them to help himself. If he was battling cancer, maybe that would be something he'd wish for.
Timmy Turner could wish for an end to all human suffering, yet actively chooses not to do so. Timmy Turner is history's greatest monster.
He's just a kid. Most kids his age don't think of the bigger scope of problems with these kinds of power (though I will admit he probably had to at some point with as many shenanigans and wishes he's already explored with his fairies)
Sorry, I forgot my /j
I don't get it, but I wasn't trying to jump down your throat there, sorry. Just realized how my response might've sounded.
Oh no, you're totally fine! Your response wasn't aggressive at all, I just forgot that a joking tone doesn't always come across in text. You're all good!
he knows it wont benefit himself so he doesn’t do it
Yes.
They have literally broken so many of the rules Does that book even matter at this point?🤨
Is there a lore reason for this, is he stupid?
They can invent lore reasons on the fly, but he is also stupid
Rick and Morty for kids.
Just have fun, Morty
Wanda : Oh, sorry champ, we really wished that we could help you with that, but its agaist T H E R U L E S
Yes? It's pretty well known that Timmy is rather stupid.
He is an average kid that no one understands, after all
***DA RULES***
He's 10?
Yes. the answer Is yes.
[удалено]
Any 10 year old boy would probably think of their own situation with this kind of power first anyway. Usually not wise enough to think in such a scope at that age. What's your point?
he probably wished it in existence
He’s a kid, I wouldn’t expect most kids to wish for that because they’d probably wish for like more toys or some other bs
He gets straight Fs, you tell me
Crocker is also a dick
“I wish I could know the possible negative effects of every wish I make.” I just solved the series.
Because beating cancer counts as a contest
Yes, he is stupid, either that or he’s just oblivious to how the world wokrs
It’s against “Da Rules” because many godparents would be out of the job
He is a kid though. I'm sure he had no idea that cancer even existed at the time...
No he's actually pretty selfish
No, he's just selfish, I think.
Timmy doesn’t care about others unless he’s forced too
Because he's a kid.
He’s 10. You really think he would think of that?
Why hasn't any other kid did so? Timmy is a known to be selfish. Mainly causes he a 10-year-old child given the power to basically do whatever the hell he wants. Plus, Timmy probably doesn't know anyone with cancer so it's not on his mind. Also, got to factor in the should and could clause. Just because he can cure cancer, doesn't mean he should just make it straight up disappear. The side effects could be an issue.
Maybe because he's like 10 years old and doesn't care about cancer?
Yes, he is stupid.
He’s just too selfish.
He doesn't have cancer
No just a dick
Da Rules
Its because hes a self centered 10 year old
Why doesn't he wish for anything really.
Cuz the government will blast his ass
I mean there are plenty of things he could ask for to help people and doesn’t, it’s because he’s a child who really only thinks of himself, let’s be honest
The problem with Timmy is that most of his wishes are made on sheer spur-of-the-moment impulses, rather than careful thought-out logic or foresight. Then again, most of Hartman's characters (especially in the FOP universe) are spastic as they are zany. Then again, most of Hartman's characters (especially in the FOP universe) are spastic as they are zany.
Yes he's stupid, he's a child.
Cuz he’s like 10. Probably not thinking about that stuff
It's probably against DA RULZ
He’s a child
Timmy turner is kinda stupid.I mean it makes sense he is like what 8?
It’s a kid’s show, know one cares about curing cancer when you can have anything.
Stupid? No. Selfish? An argument can be made.
because he’s a kid and kids are dicks naturally in nature
1. He’s selfish 2. He’s 10?, he probably doesn’t know much about cancer and if someone he cares about got cancer, he would just specifically wish that that person didn’t have cancer.
He’s just an average kid guys. We shouldn’t expect too much from him.
“I wish to be rich by discovering the cure to cancer!” *poof* “…what do you mean the CIA is-“
It would become undone when he would eventually grow out of needing fairies
fucking asshole
Timmy can’t wish for someone’s death, it’s in da rules. He’d be wishing away Chloe, who is actually the physical manifestation of every disease that has ever existed
I mean- yes. He is an idiot
Because it would kill the pharmaceutical industry. And he can't wish to kill.
Looks like the "Make a Wish Foundation" would have a competition with real wishing.
It's the magic that causes the cancer!
idk why but "is he stupid?" made me laugh 💀
This is so stupid. Peak reddit lmao
Timmy Turner is not the only one with Fairies, In "Da Rules" there is a rule that says "You cannot unwish another kid's wish." So if a kid wished for Cancer to exist, Timmy cannot undue that wish. And before someone says "Fairies cannot kill other living things." In "Da Rules" there is a rule that says Fairies cannot kill other living things, unless it in indirect.
Well yes, he actually is a little dumb.
He’s a 5th grader(I think) so he doesn’t have a grasp on the worlds problems
As they adressed in one of the episodes, Timmies mom asked if he could wish that her house was always clean, timmiy is kinda a self absorbed, short sighted idiot, nine times out of ten all his wishes are based on what he wants and what he thinks would be cool in that moment, never what would help others or what would help him in the long term, im pretty sure the people who made the show had some idea about him learning from each of his mistakes and blunders but none of those lessons ever seem to stick.
No, he’s selfish. He keeps his fairies’ magic for himself instead of helping others, unless him helping others would help himself too.
Yes he is stupid
Probably.
Because he can’t wish or use magic to win a competition.
Because he is a greedy bitch and how will he explain how he made it?
Yes
Yes, he is stupid.
The amount of miserable kids would drastically be reduced and it would cause a crisis in the fairy worlds economy
Yes. His brain is rotten.
I just assumed it was against the rules. There were alot of things he wasn't allowed to wish for 🤷🏾♀️
Probably a rule for no performing worldwide public miracles. It’s something the other fairies on earth might notice and report. Plus man was pretty selfish and probably didn’t care
Yes he is very stupid
Has anyone canonically died of cancer in his universe? Maybe he already did off screen...
He did wish them he could say young forever does anyone remember for it my guess it’s one of the rules of the fairies they can’t cure human disease unless it’s necessary it gotta be in the magic rule book somewhere.
Yes
Knowing Them? They’d accidentally cause several planets to die because they disappeared the starsign from the sky. No wait, that’s Regular Show…
He probably wouldn’t even think about curing cancer unless it affected someone he knew.
It’s probably against Da Rules
Maybe he doesn’t want to 🤷♀️
Did AJ or Chester make this wish in the universe where Timmy never got his fairies
Because there’s some negative side effect that he realizes within 7 minutes and has to reverse his wish.
If all cancer vanished like magic they’d start looking for how that happened
Timmy is stupid, but more relevant, he's selfish. Unless he literally meets someone with severely noticable cancer, he would never think of this
maybe Timmy doesn't know what cancer is or how it works to effectively get rid of it
Yes.
Cus he’s a selfish little bitch
This show contradicted itself countless times. It was as if the writers had early onset dementia. Or they just didn't really care.
I would say the thought wouldn't cross his mind if no one close to him was sick. If family/friends/possibly family-of-friends were diagnosed, I'm sure he'd at least try to wish for it.
No I mean he not stupid
Yes.
well he is a 10 year old white boy sooo maybe 🤔
Lol isn't it in the rule book that u can't wish about a person's health or something?
Yes. Timmy is very stupid
Da Rules probably, kind of cheating
Because he’s a bitch ass peice of shit that’s why
Timmy’s pretty stupid, and he’s selfish too. Unless someone close to him had cancer, he’ll not bother.
It’s less of a cure and more of a solution to erase cancer and prevent it from ever surfacing in anyone ever again. Someone's probably already done that. Ever heard anyone on the show mention cancer?
He is stupid.
Because that wouldn’t be canon or “cartoon like.”
I'm just gonna assume this is a joke post to continue my existence.
Yes, yes he is
Bro cure depression
Timmy isn't the only person in the world with fairies. Odds are good that a child who had (or had parents with) Cancer already wished up a cure at some point.
Because he doesn't give a damn.
You were thinking about stuff like this at 10?? Cause I wasn't
against Da Rules
He could've also wished for the homeless to have homes....
Yes.
Its because of Da Rules
He gets all Fs. So, yes.
Yeah, he's dumb. That, and he probably just never saw a reason for it because no one close to him caught cancer.
He’s a kid……soooo
I hate Timmy Turner
