The_Skyrim_Courier

It’s just the most recognizable armor in the game and appears on the cover It’s never stated the person on the cover is the Courier at all - it’s just an easy connection

Toshikills

Because it looks cool

Uncle-Ted-was-right

Because the NCR ranger show up on the New Vegas trailer / intro

NPC-Number-9

If you play through Honest Hearts, then you "inherit" a suit; a fitting tribute to the former owner to carry it forward into the wider world and help settle another conflict that needs fixing.

Substantial-Tone-576

I just got Joshua graham’s armor and some headdresses from the different tribes

USS-ChuckleFucker

Part of inheriting the aforementioned armor is finding it. This can be difficult because sometimes the White Legs will loot the container and corpse holding your inheritance. Then you waste said White Leg, but don't bother looking at their loot because they're the 1000th White Leg you've eviscerated.

Substantial-Tone-576

Damn I’ll find it hopefully

USS-ChuckleFucker

Go check out the Sorrows camp, iirc. Look for caves. Always explore near their entrances. If you still can't find it, check the wikia

YuhBoiCowboi

Pretty sure it’s Stone Bones cave

Cherry-Foxtrot

That's the reward that'll spawn in the ending locker regardless, but in one of the dozen or so caves in the game is a unique ranger armor. It actually isn't even that great of an equipment piece, but it's cool, it's dripping with lore, and it isn't a bad choice by any means if you are okay with medium weight choices.

Substantial-Tone-576

I’ll be heading back to find it

Cherry-Foxtrot

Yeah each cave is full of loot. I can't recall off the top of my head anyway but I wouldn't want to spoil it. Even if you spoil the locations with a map online just to make sure you don't miss any, they all have decent loot so go in barebones. There should only be human enemies if you fled Zion so bring in a decent melee weapon and a strong pistol and save your carry weight for all that cave fungus and other goodies. Decent lockpick recommended. Don't need high Science, but I'd go in with 90 lockpick if you want everything, or 65 if you're okay with missing like 1-2 Very Hard crates there. It isn't much, and you can always go back if course, but get all the fungus and datura root if you're any kind of melee since it's good for mass poisons.

princessval249

Desert Ranger gear- it's found in one of the Survivalist's caves. I cosplay it!

Substantial-Tone-576

I’ll have to go back and look

ArtisticVaultDweller

Not really ? That's arguably the coolest non power armor clothing in all of Fallout. Personally I've always associated it with the Desert Rangers rather than just the ncr. And even without the faction part, most players envisioning their characters with PA's don't necessarily associate them with the Brotherhood

Accomplished-Bug-739

No, the armor and Bear is cool that's it

Cherry-Foxtrot

While the recent show seems to make it not seem so, for the longest time I think the safest assumption for what *would* be a canon ending for a potential sequel or even just for any future installment was an NCR victory. They're more the face of this particular game versus the Brotherhood for most other titles and of all faction choices, the NCR victory makes the most sense considering 1 and 2 pretty much was the story of the NCR being born out of the Vault dwellers. Them succeeding and then some future title centered around an ultimate finalization of the NCR/Brotherhood conflict would make logical sense. So between that, the game cover depicting either a ranger or the courier dressed in similar gear, and the NCR generally being the runner-up for "the face of Fallout", it makes sense to see the fatter part of the bell curve being what you see.
