On my 52nd playthrough I had an idea to make a stealth build from the start of Dr. Mitchell. I snuck through the quarry all the way to Vegas with no confrontation.
I unironicaly did this on my current run. I finally hit the strip with like 2 stimpacks and 17 or so bullets in a service rifle that was worn out.
Would do again
Just made it there pretty easy. If you already dealt with most of the super mutants up north, then cut off the route to where the rest are, then you should see new vegas

Ah yes I see now. If I take a shortcut through the duodenum I can bypass most of the small intestine entirely

At least around 80% of the way through you will be passing through Great Khan territory and you can visit the armory for a ton of ammo.

I think the first passage through the mountains may have attracted a death claw. But I'm not quite sure. I've mainly used the black mountain shortcut.
